Hello folks, I’d be happy to get recommendations for podcast that interview problem gamblers, scholars, professionals in the field of treatment. Please this podcast must be one that is judgement free and maybe one that you have tried or someone you know has tried. Please share, you might just be helping someone out as well.

You can google by yourself. I did a little research and found that many videos explain about gambling addiction but I do not check one by one and only use page 1 from Google to open the videos. I use the keyword term "podcast about gambling addiction" and get tons of video and you can use that keyword term in Youtube directly. I hope you can get what you want because sharing about gambling addiction is not easy but for people who can get out from the gambling addiction can share their story from that podcast.

Here is the list I've found:
https://blog.feedspot.com/gambling_addiction_podcasts/
https://player.fm/podcasts/gambling-addiction
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/all-in-the-addicted-gamblers-podcast/id956747473
https://open.spotify.com/show/24kJMNTecEAfHBHaVHF8KM

Maybe you can get more website during your research. On that website list, you will see they have another list for the site and I hope one or more can fit what you need.

This is a bit of a stretch but you can also consult healthygamergg's podcast and YouTube channel. His content is oftentimes directed towards improving your lifestyle and mental health as a gamer which for me isn't that far from being a gambler. Most of all it is for free since he mostly streams on twitch and uploads snippets of his streams or a full-blown edited video on his YouTube channel. Check him out, he's profound and you may learn a thing or two about gaming that is also connected to gambling like addiction, tilting (that awful feeling after experiencing multiple losses, and more).

There's no hurt to trying to ask for recommendations from a large platform like this. Besides, this thread could also be a way for more people who are in the same situation to lean on to and not scroll thousands upon thousands of Google search pages. Thanks for the recommendations and I'm looking forward to more people giving their two cents about it.

I don't think podcasts will help you (or others) much. Gambling addiction is a serious situation which needs to cured by the professionals. I don't know which country you are in but the US has a phone line NPCG (https://www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/national-helpline-1-800-522-4700/) (The National Council on Problem Gambling, 1-800-522-4700)

I am sure the other countries have something similar as well. So I suggest you not to waste time on podcasts and act now.

Gambling Addiction podcast might be something that I am not familiar with but there are a couple of sites which do provide a lot of one on one counselling regarding the addiction in gambling. For example if you go to gamcare you would be able to get a lot of help, again I have not personally experienced it but I do think that one on one help might be something that might work better than any podcast for sure.

Podcasts are something that you might take on with it. But I would recommend if you go seek some personal help if you are struggling with addiction.

Gambling addiction podcasts isn't available, maybe you can see few gambling stories putforth by the real life gamblers who've seen the extreme out of gambling. Those might create a positive energy to stay within limits and not to experience the worst out of gambling. With gambling it is quite hard to create podcasts on gambling, because they feel it hard to narrate it in a brief manner.

Why do you want this? If you are trying to find sources for an investigation or for research purposes then this could help you out, but if you are actually trying to help a person to overcome an addiction problem then this is not going to be good enough, overcoming an addiction is not something that can be done just by wishing it and listening to the advice of a person doing a podcast, it takes months and sometimes years to be able to overcome the addiction and even then it is a lifetime struggle to not give in into the desire of gambling again.

Addicted to gambling and being interviewed via podcast sounds interesting enough, maybe the interviewer should have at least some control over psychology. That is quite beneficial for psychiatrists who are faced with a gambling addict, can provide more useful relaxation. Because I once took someone who was already acute in gambling, to do therapy guided by a psychiatrist.

This is going to be interesting about podcasting not just with personal talks but also problems dealing with gambling addiction would be resolved through this technology. I am not like other people who discouraged using this type of idea, because we need to grow eventually. Using several tools to improve ourselves, is very important so podcast could be a good start.

Do you plan to create your own podcast? Because I can’t see any podcast about gambling addiction and you are right this may help someone especially if they listen to every experiences of those addict in gambling. If you are already addict, this might not help you totally but at least hearing those opinions and advices from the expert, that will help a lot.

You could create one because there are no links to any gambling addiction podcast it would be a nice research because lots of addictive victims surface by the day and this podcast could win a whole lot back and give them a new life start. This process isn't instantaneous it takes time trying to talk someone out from the cunning world of addiction but since it's for the purpose of winning back a lost ship it's worth it

To be honest I don't have any idea if there's a podcast tackling special topic of this gambling addiction but due to my curiosity I've searched it first to know if there's already those personality tackling this before I go post a comment here and I found a videos about gambling addiction. I think this kind of podcast is very interesting because you got to learn from those past experienced of those people who suffered from gambling addiction and it is an eye opener to everyone. Though it may not directly helpful to every person who suffers gambling addiction because they need already a medical attention but this kind of story could give us awareness.

This is a good source, but when it comes to curing gambling addiction it should be one on one between the gambler and his physician, those podcasts can help a gambler decide if he really needs help, it's a step that he can take to check if he has the personality of a chronic gambler but when it comes to curing a chronic gambler it should be personalized and customized therapy, one set of therapy can be good to one patient but not to all patients.

I believe on a face to face treatment because this kind of addiction can be do anytime since there's already a lot of online casino available. A gambling addict needs a friend or family to assist him on crucial time and it can't be treated by listening an online podcast alone. But there's also some exception base on the level of addiction. Not serious gambling can be treat by some inspirational message from podcast or friends as long as the person still have control on his gambling activities. I'm guilty on this but I already overcome and control this addiction after some life reflection that I do and think about my family future. So far, I never do excessive gambling and just do a occasional bet when some of my favorite athlete or team has a game.

I think that there may be a catch on all this gambling addiction podcast thing, you could potentially become addicted to listening to the podcast and start believing that the interviewees are actually their friends ;) Jokes aside, I think this is a great idea, I would like to be a patron for this type of podcast because dealing with addiction is something that may work in different ways for different people: groups, methods and , why not, podcasts.

That podcast can help people who needed a solution and maybe the addicted gambler will get the Aha button to stop their gambling habit. If people can get free resources to solve their addiction, they do not have to spend some money to get help. But that will only work if that person has an effort to solve the problem and does not try to return to gambling. Otherwise, that will be more difficult for him to back on the right track.

That is for examples and maybe that can be a reference for people who needed to find an article or other material. Maybe after watching some videos from the podcast, that person can realize that what they think before is wrong and need to change their mind not to playing gambling. Who knows, that can give them the idea to search for the other things that can distract their minds from gambling too often.

If that person is a chronic gambler, I am afraid that he needs to visit the physician to get help and know what they need to do to solve the addiction.

Don't think if Podcast on this topic may be helpful to get rid of gambling addition. If you are involved in this addiction, you need to do two tings immediately.

Firstly allocate certain funds for gambling  for a week and promise yourself you will not spend more in case the funds are lost in gambling.

Secondly, since it requires self motivation and promise, you need to consult local phycologist who can guide you consistently on this topic. Hearing a podcast may be beneficial for short term but you need regular lessons.

wouldnt be that great if he becomes addicted to it than become addicted in gambling but i also think that podcast can be scripted and not hundred percent real so relying on them might not be a good idea but it would be better if we consult to the experts our selves .

yeah why not ? even if they arent totaly legit but they can still deliver a positive mesage it can somehow help the listeners and podcast is easier than reading or watching simillar topics .

These YouTube videos may also be of assistance to you; take a look at this, it's about gambling addiction;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgeLY7TNXEk --

Not a podcast, but a nearly identical interview, could aid in the recovery of someone who is addicted to gambling. Listening to other people's experiences and stories regarding gambling addiction is, in my opinion, one of the finest methods to recover or learn about gambling addiction. As a result of their experiences, you may come to realize something that will change the way you think about gambling.

Watch also this, TED talks vid about gambling,

This might not be exactly what you are looking for (as it's hard to find specific quality podcasts on that subject), but I strongly recommend Andrew Huberman's podcast. He is a neuroscientist and often talks about how to trick or manipulate your brain to do certain things and how to tweak it, so that might be a good starting point at least.

~snip~

I do not see the point of wasting time on podcasts because many doctors believe that game addiction in its effect on the human brain similar to drug use. Few people can cope with gaming addiction because in the specialized centers except for psychological help patients prescribe drugs that help reduce stress during treatment. If you or your relative has problems with gambling addiction, I advise you to seek help from professionals with good experience in this difficult matter.

Perhaps not every case requires such serious intervention, and in the early stages of addiction, a cure is possible thanks to podcasts or special literature. In any case, if a person is interested in this, why not get acquainted with different points of view on this issue? In the end, one does not interfere with the other, and if some methods do not help, then you can try others.

Tricking your own brain to diagnose yourself  I guess is best thing to do than judged by some people who sees you telling stories online about your mishaps and spends thousands in casino. Gamblers have enough of judgement because it feels very pathetic when being judged.  I think this is a good option than sharing on podcast.

Or just join a local support group that enourage each other to stop gambling. I'm not sure if its rasy to find these group though.

The internet is your friend. With everything posted online nowadays, it is not that difficult to find podcasts that focuses on gambling addiction, habits, and activities as a whole. In addition, with the ongoing pandemic, most people have shift their attention in creating content comfortably on their homes- in which podcasts shine.

My friend used to do podcasts on a certain topic about relationships and all. They uploaded their talks on Spotify so I also do recommend checking it out on the list. Like what I have mentioned, the internet is your best friend. Just one search away and thousands to millions of results would show.
