Title: Mining help needed
Post by: TheMimic1 on August 10, 2021, 06:26:06 AM
How are all LHR GPU miners doing it? All mining OS starting from hiveOS, raveOS, minerstat OS don't support new drivers and only new drivers recognise 3070 and 3070ti, even if you try to update using nvidia-driver-update --list you won't get anything than 470 which isn't supported, anyway to go about this or I'm going to be stuck with windows?

For the moment you are stuck with Windows with LHR version of GPU cards.I am pretty confident though that all Linux OS-es having a really large user base and being open source will swiftly come to a solution to this thing.I don't think HiveOS wants to lose this small market which is becoming bigger every passing day so wait for a solution soon.

Swogerino is right, it seems a large number of people or miners are facing this already so the Devs will work something out in a matter of time, also I believe that a patch will come for LHR cards in the future, there must be a way to get rid of the limiter

I've make this claim on hiveOS channel already, I was forced to revert back to w10 OS to use my RTX3070s for mining due to the unavailability of lastest Nvidia drivers, hopefully this will be fixed soon

It's all OS I don't understand what's wrong with those Devs, Nvidia forced LHR on miners and now mining OS aren't even supporting them either? Anyways I came all the way from Windows OS to start mining on Minerstat now I'm going back since most of my GPUs are LHR

Ubuntu 20.04.2 has 470 drivers, any mining OS based on it should have them soon.
But mining OSs shouldn't wait for the package to be available in the upstream distribution's
repository, they should get them directly from Nvidia.

MMPOS does have it
