Title: Low performance using HiveOS Post by: TheMimic1 on August 18, 2021, 03:32:48 PM I think Trex on windows have better performance than using hive OS, after switching from Windows to give hiveOS a try I noticed significant hashrate loss, here is what I used to get
6x gtx 1660 Samsung memory will give me 25MH maximum 6x gtx1660 hynix memory used to give me 26mh maximum All thanks to absolute core clock in Trex Here is what I got now using HiveOS Trex 6x gtx 1660 Samsung memory gives me 23MH max and if I try to increase OC it becomes unstable 6x gtx 1660 with hynix memory gives me 24.5MH max I think I will go back to windows, that is a significant loss in hashrate to me for the fact that I'm using 12x of these cards Title: Re: Low performance using HiveOS Post by: FP91G on August 18, 2021, 08:24:38 PM https://forum.hiveos.farm/t/nvidia-gtx-1660-6gb-performance/23024
Read the information on the HiveOS forum. you can use the same settings for both operating systems or choose another miner that will give you more hashrate. Try the settings miners use in this thread. I am sure you will get more hashrate. If you are getting more hashrate/performance on windows OS then stick with windows OS, a YouTuber named Caleb who is now getting more popular everyday use T-rex on windows to get 26mh on those cards too and he never switched to hiveOS till now, use what works better for you

From each farm on the hive, you save several tens of kilowatts per hour. And Windows is more inconvenient for administering a large number of farms Title: Re: Low performance using HiveOS Post by: BitKongy on August 20, 2021, 08:34:17 AM Then why stick with hiveOS? I have tested the same rig with HiveOS and windows, and what should i say -> it uses the same 880 vs 880 -> with some tweaks i get better power consumption on windows (we speak about 10w less from the wall) Windows needs much less energy and ressources than many people think. You can administrate windows with awesomeminer very good. But i think we need more monitoring software for windows and local. I hate that all goes over a browser like HiveOs, minerstat and so on. Title: Re: Low performance using HiveOS Post by: TheMimic1 on August 24, 2021, 08:39:36 AM I've figured it out, it's not same OC settings in hiveOS, I tried using same OC settings from Windows in hive OS that's why I got lower hashrate, after visiting hiveOS forum I was told to Increase memory clock in hiveOS so now I'm back at 26MH and even 27MH for few gtx1660, silicon lottery at play here, thanks everyone
