That is unless your social credit score is so low they won't let you leave. If that is the case then your only recourse is to take a boat to a western country and try to become an illegal migrant. The only problem with that is you become a permanent underclass where the elite can do with you what they want (basically your situation as it is now). It is better to try to do it the legal way so you are guaranteed the rights of your western nation destination. Really its almost becoming pointless to come to a Western nation because the elite are trying to make the West into China. China was their prototype of what they want the world to look like. To a degree China is somewhat truthful that Western media is toxic even though their media is very much dictated by the government. Drinking water that is contaminated will result in far worse things than 'unknown' side effects.
