Title: Why Cryptocurrency is not Legalized Despite the Many Benefits
Post by: darahjuang on August 20, 2021, 05:06:10 AM
To my knowledge the first cryptocurrency was Bitcoin. Do you agree?
Since 2009 Bitcoin was launched by a person on behalf of Satoshi Nakamoto (aka) there have been very many positive things that have been obtained by people in the cryptocurrency space. Because Bitcoin has a limited stock, thus making the price of BTC expensive and then in anticipation of people being able to invest in crypto, Altcoins were born as an alternative.
Please give suggestions if my post is not correct.

As a decentralized currency, Bitcoin's development is not subject to excessive government restrictions or influences, while the cryptocurrency economy is subject to peer-to-peer Internet protocol monitoring.
Cryptocurrencies have not been widely accepted by businesses and consumers, and their prices now fluctuate so much that they are not suitable as payment methods.

Legalising is based on your own country government. They will do as per their wish. Most important one is tax. If they want some taxes from the people in the pandemic. Surely they will legalise and get a profit from it.But if illegal, huge money in economy will go to individuals.

Cryptocurrency is just a form of software and is created by non-state organizations and individuals. It is like stocks in the primitive sense of governments, so the recognition of cryptocurrencies as currency is a threat to national currencies. Until now, the analysis and discussion of cryptocurrencies have always been a controversial topic, but now we see that cryptocurrencies do not have much impact on the national economy, so they will gradually be adjusted.

I do agree with it but the idea of cryptocurrency has been ever spoken by someone before satoshi. Satoshi was creating the real implementation of crypto into the bitcoin as the first crypto

No, it's not the first cryptocurrency. Some of the ideas that underlying of the Bitcoin design or concept has already been implemented, but it spread/used across many fields. Neither Satoshi implement those ideas as the first crypto, but instead, Satoshi is able to combine those unrelated concepts into Bitcoin with an additional modification that suits Bitcoin as what it's like right now.

They should keep regulating but it's not going to work on decentralized projects like BTC for example, the gov hate everything they can't control and BTC dev/creator is no where to be found which is a very good thing, Nakamoto saw this coming 💯

Bitcoin was created by Satoshi so we can have all the freedom on our own money and take its full control. But since the government don't want to legalized the things that are uncontrolled by them so definitely, bitcoin has always been denied for legalization. And since its highly decentralized, totally different from fiat which is fully centralized. Instead, they put high restrictions in bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrencies in the crypto market.

But for some countries, their leaders were able to see bitcoin's potentials for their country's economy and came up legalizing it. El Salvador was a great example where bitcoin has become a legal tender and if this one will work out, might as well other countries will start legalizing bitcoin or crypto too.

It is not about to agree or not. but, this is the fact.
Actually, I am still confused with your title and also the content of your posts.
Did you ask why crypto is not legalized? Or did you want to confirm about the Bitcoin?
If you want to confirm it, just read this very completed information about
A Short History Of Bitcoin And Crypto Currency (https://www.forbes.com/sites/bernardmarr/2017/12/06/a-short-history-of-bitcoin-and-crypto-currency-everyone-should-read/?sh=5df68c803f27)

And the question:
Quote
Explanation Why Cryptocurrencies Are Not Legalized?
Legal or not will depend on the regulation of a country. It may be different.
There are countries that legalize cryptocurrency.
There are countries that ban crypto.
there are countries that legalize crypto only as a commodity asset, but not as a currency (payment method, ex: my country Indonesia).
Each country still has a different view, interest, other policies, and different views of Crypto, and may also be related to conditions in the country and various encouragement and considerations from various parties.
But there are also countries that once did not legalize Crypto and finally now legalized Crypto.
So, this is growing continuously.

Crypto currency is only banned in few countries so you don't say it's not legalized. It's fully in use despite the daily treat from most world leaders. It only a matter of time and most of this nation's would accept it fully using it as an alternative most of exchange for goods and services.

Why are you separating your explanation with your title and what you've just said on your thread. But let's all go with not legalizing cryptocurrencies. This is dependent on the countries that don't like crypto or they see it as something bad or against the nature of their finance. But to be honest, cryptos don't have to be legalized and recognized by those countries because what makes crypto keeps going are us, the people that are into this community that has given value to it. And those countries that have banned and might have ban it can't stop that revolution.

I am more convinced that Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency has had a very positive impact on the people involved in it, I agree and many people who have an important role in making decisions in a country also feel the positive impact of crypto, but because one and two things are considered to damage the country's economy, it is not legalized by all countries.

Cryptocurrency is a completely new phenomenon in the financial world. Since it is decentralized and cannot be controlled by states and, in addition, has a very high degree of volatility, states are in no hurry to legalize it, preferring to take a closer look at it for now. But due to the fact that the G20 countries have so far decided that cryptocurrency does not pose a threat to global financial stability, such legalization has already taken place in many states. It is already positive that only in a few countries the cryptocurrency is prohibited for circulation. In general, so far, cryptocurrency is quite successfully accepted by people, organizations and governments.

Illegal as payment method here, but its legal when we keep it as asset and investment.
The untrackable transaction is one of many factor thats why Bitcoin still not legalized in many areas, and some of them use blockchain to hide their money from taxes. But as the time will go, Bitcoin will legal in many areas (with certain rules), i think the government is on thats direction, they just confused how to make the right regulation with it.

There's no correlation between what you have said to the thread subject. Please share your thought to start a good discussion.

In most countries, bitcoin is accepted but not under the jurisdiction of a country. Since there is no law about it, any fraudulent activity on bitcoin won't be covered by the government.

You can start doing some research on those bitcoin-friendly countries and those who totally ban crypto to somehow feed your mind. Explaining it here will be long.

It is already semi legalized.

That suits the governments because if or when the things go bad, they can seize your coins or  won't let you trade your coins and they can say that they never legalized crypto anyways. Remember, crypto is all experimental even after 10 years passed.

The gains are huge because the risks are huge.

legal and illegal issues actually depend on the country where you are sheltered. however, what you said is true. however, I think it's just an early explanation of bitcoin, and it's not a legal reason or not.

however, the problem why bitcoin is not legal in some countries is because of the rampant fraud using crypto, and also a threat to state revenues, such as competition with Fiat, taxes, and others. However, the policies of each country are different. if you go to China or India, then their bitcoin has been banned for some reason. however, if you go to the US or Japan, you might be able to use cryptocurrency there. Again, each country has its own policies and reasons why they don't legalize bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.

want to legalize bitcoin itself.
It's more or less like that so that everyone can conclude that the country that legalized Bitcoin itself is a very safe country and has been very advanced in any field of technology so that the country dares to make decisions regarding cryptocurrency.

Although there are some countries that cryptocurrencies are not legal, most countries have already regulations for Bitcoin. The officials are smart enough to figure Bitcoin is not going away. Not all presidents of countries are daring enough like Bukele of El Salvador but some countries are also looking into making BTC legal tender too.

Muslim countries I think did not legalize because of their religious laws. Some of the countries are just holding on to their government control but did not also illegalize.

Bitcoin created the ideal of equality for all with a decentralized and anonymous solution it immutable and in that sense and ideal it is somewhat contradictory conflict with the government in building centralization.  That is the barrier that prevents bitcoin from getting the result as legal, currently most are friendly at neutral depending on the situation of each country.

1. Decentralization
2. Government and Banks

These 2 are kinda connected with each other because Government and Banks don't like the Decentralization feature of cryptocurrency.
If they will try to legalize any crypto in their country, there is a high chance that it will be a centralized project and not a decentralized one like Bitcoin. There are some governments too that are very close to banks and maybe their connection is also one reason why they aren't legalizing it. We don't know but the decentralization feature is the answer why they aren't legalizing it.

Yes of course you are right, that bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency ever. This is also the reason why a lot of people think automatically about bitcoin when they hear someone talk about cryptocurrencies, even though there are thousands of crypto projects out there already that offer a lot more functionality than bitcoin. Just look at ethereum for example with its smart contracts, which are the reason why stuff like Defi is even possible. The reason why a lot of countries are not supporting or even banning cryptos is also pretty simple. They can not control them.

The government somehow see cryptocurrency as the threat to their authority among their citizens. True enough, there are countries that have banned crypto and are imposing sanctions to those who will get caught using crypto. In decentralization, the government’s role and control over people’s activities are weaken, and so their gains, so despite it many benefits to the people, institutions do not see it in the same way.

I think with bitcoins and cryptos for sure the government can't deny their effectiveness compared to fiat, but they never understood how bitcoin and crypto work it's uncontrollable.  Second, negative effects from evils such as Mt gox, Silk road, etc. Third, crypto is the strength of decentralization.  However, Bitcoin legalization is just a war of time, El Salvado has done it and I think a lot of countries will follow this idea and importantly where you live, how you use it,  it will determine the integrity of the matter.

The first question is very true, it is impossible for us to give advice that is contrary to what actually happened to bitcoin, it is feared that the information will mislead people who see it, if we argue that the first cryptocurrency is not bitcoin.

While the price of bitcoin that we want to associate with the number of bitcoins, in my opinion this is still half true, although if we use the economic formula both are very precise in your analysis, but in this case a lot of analysis appears on the price and number of bitcoins, for example market conditions, influence greedy big investors or conditions that are deliberately created to weaken and increase the price of bitcoin.

Just to correct the OP, Bitcoin is not literally the first cryptocurrency.
eCash was the first so-called "cryptocurrency" back in 1983, it was like still called "cryptographic system" back in those years but not cryptocurrency. It was then followed by DigiCash. The term "cryptocurrency" was just later used in 1998.

Cryptocurrencies operate in a decentralized way so it's hard to regulate it. Also, all the coins don't have similar characteristics so it's very complicated to implements tax into them. People are getting benefits but evil people still do the fraudulent activity. So govt needs some regulation to implements law and order in this sector too. I think these are the main reason behind many countries don't want to legalize crypto.

Actually Bitcoin can be called the first cryptocurrency, even though there have been many trials by other developers, but it seems none was successful because if they were, then they would have been popular, so therefore in this crypto space, Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency we know and has grown over the years to be outstanding, highly valuable and reliable.
Secondly, you are also right about altcoins, after Bitcoin, any other coins or tokens are all classified or called altcoins that is alternative coins. Therefore yes, your post is correct to the best of my knowledge.
However, talking about the legalization of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, this particular case will be a tough one because this is about the government and the people; in the crypto space so far we can see the level of freedom people have been able to enjoy, as well as the benefits which includes transparency in transactions etc, that is to say, you can't manipulate or alter a transaction and so on. Thus with all these benefits it can be seen that it might be hard for a country to legalize it, that will mean they can't control it, and since they can't, they will hardly legalize it.
Although some countries are taking steps but we are still waiting and watching to see how far it will go.

Based on the articles I've read before, actually, there is a cryptocurrency built before bitcoin called Hashcash. For further information, probably you can do your own research.

I would love to focus more on your question. So, why the cryptocurrency is not legalized?. I think some of the countries already legalize it. They embrace it with some rules. Meanwhile, some other countries ban it because according to their government, cryptocurrency is damaging, threatening their fiat, threatening the environment, against their countries' laws, and other negativities. Besides, it's decentralized. Probably those countries' thoughts cryptocurrency will be wild cause there's no institution's supervision behind it, such as money laundry, crimes payment, etc.

For me, it's best even some countries can't legalize it, at least they don't ban it and live along with it. Make some rules about it if needed.

If many have bad reasons against cryptocurrencies, it means that cryptocurrency activities will be banned at some point. But so far the growing reason why cryptocurrencies are not legalized is because they are afraid of being misused and crypto activities cannot be controlled so that it can hamper the economy of a country. Does that make sense?

As a decentralized currency, Bitcoin's development is not subject to excessive government restrictions or influences, while the cryptocurrency economy is subject to peer-to-peer Internet protocol monitoring.
Cryptocurrencies have not been widely accepted by businesses and consumers, and their prices now fluctuate so much that they are not suitable as payment methods.

It's hard to say Bitcoin is an illegal asset because Bitcoin was never sold through an ICO or any form when it was first launched. What the government can do is to tax every profit people make transactions with Bitcoin because it is considered a commodity.

I think one of the reasons why crypto is not legalized by the government is because the movement of Cryptocurrency is very erratic and very decentralized so it is difficult to regulate it in government regulations, besides crypto is only a digital currency that doesn't really exist, so it has a very high risk  although it provides enormous benefits.
It can be added that once it is legal and cannot be regulated, the disadvantage will become more for investors, even the investigation of the police and government forces will have to split more every year because besides the creators of the project, along with them are super scammers and also produce projects, once the legalization process is clear, the projects will be like mushrooms and sprout everywhere. Government penetration does not retain the original treaties and benefits, they only aggravate the negatives of crypto.

Blockchain is like a double-edged sword. although there are benefits, but it is very difficult to control. this is the reason why many countries are reluctant to legalize it. decentralization can destabilize the country, it can undermine the current financial system. maybe freedom is good, but the government doesn't like that. they are more interested in a system that can be monitored and controlled. The biggest reason a country rejects crypto is the decentralization and anonymity that comes with crypto.
The reason why it can't be illegal is the fact that... who is doing the illegal thing here? There is nobody at the top and there is no central organization that controls it. That is the good part about being decentralized, governments can't put the blame on any single person. Look at what happened to XRP, look at USDT, those all have central organizations that are running the currency, but bitcoin is not like that, it is purely decentralized.

So if you want to make something illegal, you make it illegal for everyone who holds any bitcoin or trades it, some nations tried to do that, but you are banning it from everyone and not just doing it for one company. This is why it is so hard to ban crypto as a whole, even if it is illegal in a nation, people just go with the p2p route and trade their coins that way hiding it from the government and still continue the operations, which is why it is hopeless case for governments.

Whatever banning made by the government, it won't create a huge impact on bitcoin anymore because its users will continue to access it in every possible way. This is the great advantage of being decentralized as it does not allow any entity or group to control it, while fiat is centralized in nature so the government has all the support on it. With bitcoin, the government believes its illegal so there's no way that it can be legalized.

However, every government differs in its leadership. And bitcoin creates more positive impact to those who believe in its potentials like young generations do. So we might expect that if a leader of a certain country is more open to new innovations, then bitcoin will always be legalized just like what El Salvador has did.

Actually, Crypto legalization depends on the policies of each country. there are some countries that can accept crypto but there are also countries that prohibit crypto for their own reasons. what is certain is that if a country has legalized crypto, it will be easier for crypto lovers in that country to take the advantage of it than people in countries that prohibit crypto. Crypto is an option where both profit and risk can be obtained and it is up to the individual to manage the assets themselves. so while our country can accept and legalize crypto then use it well.

I think cryptocurrencies appear to make us easier to transactions but cryptocurrencies also appear as a threat to country's currency. This becomes a serious problem when the general public uses cryptocurrencies while the state not ready for it. then there are various countries that have not legalized cryptocurrency. but I'm sure cryptocurrencies will continue to grow over time and the times.

Cryptocurrency provides many benefits to people. However, from the point of view of states and their bodies, it is almost useless and carries a lot of risks, including the possibility of its use for criminal purposes. Therefore, states are in no hurry to legalize decentralized cryptocurrency. On the contrary, in opposition to it, they create their own digitalized currencies of the central banks. The legalization of cryptocurrency is happening more due to the pressure of people on governments and enthusiasts among officials. Therefore, the process of legalizing cryptocurrency will not be as easy as it seems to many.

It's been more than 12 years, and I'm still waiting for it to be legal for worldwide payments, but every country has laws and regulations, we can wait for other countries like El-Savador to accept Bitcoin for payments.
So far I'm happy with each country's regulations, because some countries legalize crypto investment and that's a good thing

Actually, whether Bitcoin is legal or not, it depends on the government in your country. Maybe some countries do not allow transactions using Bitcoin or Bitcoin is called illegal because it is volatile and cannot be controlled. Even difficult to predict the price. Moreover, the numbers are small and exist in digital form which will be difficult to reach for some people who are technologically stuttering. Bitcoin is legal or not in your country, even though you can't use it as a means of payment at least you can use it as an investment tool because this will be very profitable.

Bitcoin
Altcoin
So all other coin falls under altcoin. You are also right on the basis of the increase in bitcoin price, when their is scarcity there will be inflation in price. To buttress what you said when their is need their will be increase in demand and there will be hike in price also..

Many countries have legalised cryptocurrency use in centralized form where government can track its moments. In decentralised cryptocurrency, government has zero control over it and that's why many government's have banned its use. There are predictions that rivalry bw decentralized crypto n government's will intensify in future.

Of all those who speculate on this topic, the average reason why Cryptocurrency is not legalized in many countries even though cryptocurrency has too many positive benefits is because it can damage the economy of a country.
If indeed the presence of cryptocurrencies can damage the economy of a country, why are there still many people who continue to carry out trading activities in Cryptocurrencies?

the government of a country just doesn't want its official currency to be replaced by crypto currency. that's why there are also countries that do not legalize crypto currency as a legal tender. but if it's only for trading activities for profit, I don't think it's a problem for FIAT.

To my mind autoritives can’t legalize Bitcoin as they have no control over it. They are used to controlling everything including finances, so they can’t let Bitcoin and other altcoins develop as they are not familiar with these technologies. They will have to change the tax system.

On the other hand, some countries are going to offer alternatives by creating a digital state currency like the digital yuan.

If bitcoin became legal, that means there's a Tax to pay each months/year. Bitcoin is the most widespread and best known cryptocurrency. It is a peer to peer, “decentralized” payment system. Contrary to money that is legal tender, Bitcoin is not issued by a central bank or government.

Cryptocurrency can be legalized only if all countries have a single currency and a single central bank. At the same time, the central bank must fully control all transactions in cryptocurrency that are made in the world. But we understand that this is not possible in the near future.

This way it will not be a cryptocurrency any more. One of the main feature of crypto is unregulated from authorities, so if there is a central bank that control transactions, we eventually get a big centralised financial system that is likely to be too slow because of too many requests at the same time, so there is no hope on legalised centralised crypto.

It's not a real deal issue, but it's more about the truth of what happened, so instead of giving reasons or other references to dispute what you're saying, almost everyone knows the first cryptocurrency was bitcoin.

But cryptocurrencies also have positives and negatives that we should be aware of, this is an act of minimizing the risk, bitcoins are expensive not only because of the limited stock provided, but because they have started a long process of refinement, so today bitcoin is one of the best in the world crypto.

Bitcoin is the only one that can provide a very tempting bargaining value, many people want this investment to be made, but not everyone can make it happen, bitcoin is expensive not only because of its limited availability but there are other reasons that push bitcoin more expensive for now.

Since crypto is fully decentralized system it is hard for the government to control and collect taxes on every transaction but despite of this failure they can never take down the crypto currency because of its unique blockchain technology system and as as long as there is internet then crypto may continue forever.

The only reason is that governments are against to decentralization, governments are those who control many things in our lives and everyone who is earning money by their properties will have the tax which is they cannot do it with cryptocurrency so they keep on restricting cryptocurrency.

We know that there is so many advantages that we can have in the world of cryptocurrency, we can see it but there are also a lot of disadvantages as there are so many crimes such as hacking, scammin,g and laundering in the world of crypto and I think that is also one of the reasons why they don't legalized cryptocurrency.
The sad reality is that the government doesn't want people to have an easy life but they just wanted to feel hard and waste their time with the file of workloads in which we can make it better and be more productive with the aid of crypto. It was just the government don't like it and another reason is that they can't get benefits from crypto as they are not in control of this. if it felt easy, of course, crypto would have been legalized long ago as a legal tender or investment asset.
Many considerations force the government to impose a crypto ban.
some make the legalization of crypto assets as investment assets. not as a means of payment. some prohibit crypto mining or crypto companies in their country.
The most publicized reason I think is related to crypto which can be used as an alternative to money laundering and controlling taxes on crypto asset ownership.

Different countries will decide whether to legalize Bitcoin according to their national conditions and policies. Bitcoin is not illegal in all countries. El Salvador has already used Bitcoin as a legal currency.
The use of Bitcoin allows the freedom of funds and is completely controlled by individuals. Some countries ban Bitcoin because its high degree of decentralization is different from the traditional financial system, which limits the government's control of capital interests. But with the passage of time and the popularity of cryptocurrency, it is allowed to invest in Bitcoin in most countries.

Decisions on the legalization of cryptocurrency are made by states and their governments. Cryptocurrency benefits people, not governments and government agencies. Therefore, they are in no hurry to legalize it. At the same time, it should be recognized that despite this, so far in a significant majority of states, cryptocurrency is either legalized, or they intend to legalize it, or is allowed to circulate by the silent government. Therefore, while the situation with the circulation of cryptocurrency is quite good, it continues to spread rapidly around the world.

Many people believe bitcoin to be the most expensive because of the limited number, but when compared to other coins, this reason is undeniable, there are also many coins that are created in limited quantities but the price of the coin is not able to match the price of bitcoin.

The government will not just legalize something because it provides many benefits for the population. The government will see if legalizing
cryptocurrencies brings a lot of problems or provides a lot of benefits for the government itself. But the reality is that cryptocurrencies are difficult
to control, their prices are volatile and can also be used for illegal activities. This makes the government not legalize crypto completely,
usually the government only legalizes crypto as a digital asset. Many countries still prohibit using crypto as a means of payment, there are even
countries that prohibit the use of crypto completely. So if we live in a country that still legalizes crypto as a digital asset, without being able to use
crypto as payment. We must be grateful for this, because at least we can still use crypto, hopefully the government will change its mind someday.

The decentralized nature of cryptocurrency and freedom from any control are difficult to be accepted and legalized by the governments of some countries. The government cannot supervise and control Bitcoin. They worry that it will disrupt the original financial and economic system and have an adverse effect.
But cryptocurrency does bring us many benefits and positive influences. Its emergence has changed our thinking and brought freedom for the better. There are now more and more institutions using cryptocurrency technology, and many countries are considering using Bitcoin as a legal currency. If cryptocurrency is legalized in the world, it will take a lot of time.

Actually many people just don't believe in crypto. They consider it to be a fraud, but I think that the reason for it is that they are not familiar with this world.
It is not very convenient in usage now compared to ordinary financial systems, so not all people want to study how it works. I just hope that legalisation of crypto is just a question of time when all people will evaluate its benefits.

That was the case two years ago, but the situation has changed since then. A majority of the world population now believes that cryptocurrency (and Bitcoin in particular) is a genuine innovation. Only a few elderly people still believe that it is a Ponzi scheme. But as time progresses, the user base is increasing and many of those who were previously hostile towards the idea of cryptocurrency will start using it. And although it hasn't made any big moves in the market, the step by El Salvador in making Bitcoin the legal tender was one of the most important milestones so far.

Cryptocurrency poses a certain threat to the national currency, and the decentralization of cryptocurrency is not controlled and influenced by the government.
National governments pay more attention to their own interests. Some countries do not legitimize cryptocurrency because they cannot control it or obtain benefits from it.
Bitcoin price volatility will also have certain risks, which will cause some economic losses, and it will not be accepted by more people.

because every country has different regulations on bitcoin and crypto. some have legalized bitcoin and crypto as futures investment assets, some have legalized bitcoin and crypto as legal tender.
as did the government of El Salvador regarding the use of bitcoin as their legal tender. despite much opposition, they still do it as a payment alternative to fiat.
but in some countries, there is only bitcoin and crypto legalization as a futures investment asset and cannot be used as a means of payment. although some still use it. there are no restrictions on the ownership of bitcoin and crypto assets.

If only the people will have the power to legalize the use of crypto but sad to say the government officials will always have the final say and that their decision will always be fixed and final. And knowing that the government is totally opposed with the decentralized nature of crypto so it has no way that it will be ever legalized. But of course the government laws and policies will always vary like El Salvador had and so they come up legalizing bitcoin and eventually adopting it as a legal tender.

However, there are also reports that crypto or certainly bitcoin is involved in different scamming and money laundering so maybe the government is also considering that case and think that it will never bring any good to the people.

Government needs centralization for economic, political and social control. Money is what flows through and nourishes a regime. So currency control is the premise and prerequisite of a country. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency so it does not match the views of the rulers of the countries. So far only El Salvador is using Bitcoin because they don't have their own currency (using the dollar). El Salvador will be a test for countries to consider using Bitcoin.

when El Salvador manages to manage their finances with bitcoins which they do legalize as a transaction tool, I'm sure the big countries will start paying attention to the use of bitcoins more wisely.

Many countries ban cryptocurrencies because someone loses part of their money due to cryptocurrencies. Scammers scam money in cryptocurrency.
But no matter what industry there will be scammers, I hope that all countries will legalize Bitcoin.
But the good news is that more and more factories, companies and supermarkets are using cryptocurrency to issue remuneration and payments.

Contrary to the legal currency used by various countries, Bitcoin is a decentralized currency. Using Bitcoin can bring us a lot of benefits and freedom, but its characteristics will not be controlled by anyone, and the government cannot control it and it is difficult to obtain benefits from it.
Others will use cryptocurrency for some illegal activities, and most countries will not want to legalize it because it is difficult to control.

Nowadays, many company supermarkets already use Bitcoin as their remuneration and payment method.
There are many countries that banned Bitcoin at the beginning and now accept Bitcoin.
Bitcoin will be the new payment method in the future.

It will take a period of time for Bitcoin to be legalized in the world. The views of Bitcoin in various countries cannot be unified. This is difficult to accomplish. I think it takes a certain yuan to slowly lose trust to completely overthrow the hegemonic system,In order to truly usher in the legalization of Bitcoin.

Cryptocurrency are definitely big payment solution to our society but legalization is government work and they will not legalize that they will not control over it because who will answer public if any fund stolen or any scam takes place. Another part I think in some country government don't understand or don't want to understand about crypto that has effect on legalization. It may takes sometimes to settle down and being a good recognized payment solution. Thank you

Bitcoin does have the potential to become a legal payment method in the future, because bitcoin technology can help make it easier for people to make transactions, but I'm not saying that bitcoin will be legalized by all governments in their country because many of them are very worried, that bitcoin can interfere national financial stability system.

yes, that's true, what we feel now with blockchain technology makes it very easy for someone to do anything, but the government is worried that if digital currency or bitcoin is legalized in that country, money laundering will occur by certain parties so that it will disrupt financial stability in his country. In fact, with technology like today, all lines will greatly facilitate the government, but will be misused by other parties.

There are various reasons why cryptocurrencies are still banned in a number of countries, one of which is because cryptocurrencies are vulnerable to being used for crimes, such as Money Laundering to Terrorist Funding. For example, money laundering from corruptors or mafia and terrorist groups to carry out acts of terror here and there. In addition, Bitcoin is also vulnerable to be used for various other crimes. For example prostitution. Because, Bitcoin users are allowed to transact using disguises. The circulation of money is also not tracked by the system.

but that is only a negative side that the government always sees, even though there are quite a lot of positive things that must be seen from the crypto currency itself.

Yes all except El Salvador are either not classifying Bitcoin as legal or illegal. Some are anti-Bitcoin, but others are just in the gray area where they classify Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as securities. Because it is decentralized, Bitcoin is prone to money laundering without any third party interference to approve or reject the transaction.

There are various reasons why the state has not legalized bitcoin, including as you have explained, besides that many say bitcoin is close to terrorist activities, and of course money laundering. on the other hand, because bitcoin cannot be controlled, it is considered less profitable for a country, but I think this is just a matter of time and the situation is not right, of course it will develop according to the situation of the times.

Only a few cryptocurrencies have any real benefit, arguably only a fraction of the thousands of new altcoins. The problem is that people's curiosity has no limits so they are often caught up in crime and fraud. Banning can be a solution on the grounds that it is a form of citizen protection.
Moreover, dealing with crypto crimes is more difficult than crimes involving fiat.

The truth about why Crypto is not legalized is because of its distruptive potentials. Crypto has ability to change the global monetary system for better. Am not saying all cryptocurrencies are good , there are some unrealistic ones that are just developed to scam investors. In addition, crypto has tendency to overtake the traditional financial system due to its unending benefits. Based on these features, it will be hard for government to legalize it . It is not strange anymore that Fiat money is full of manipulation , no stable supply and lots of flaws in fiat money .

that's one of the reasons why bitcoin and crypto can't be easily legalized in a country. That's because the handling and evaluation, which I think will be quite complicated, must be implemented by the country that enforces it. especially those that legalize transaction tools. because most countries do not prohibit ownership of crypto and bitcoin. it's just that the use of crypto and bitcoin is regulated.

- Besides worrying about the level of financial intervention as well as the management system, we should also redefine the benefits, except for personal goals, very rarely do I feel bitcoin can meet the community criteria because from a payments stance, the community chooses their country's tradition, instead of innovating with bitcoin, they choose bitcoin as just a volatile battleground, take away the legacy of those who died on the battlefield. A place to make money full of sin, greed and the government not sure it should be made public

Since most of the the coins are decentralized, it will be hard for many governments and institutions to collect data and information. This will be a medium to scammers and many laundering if been pushed to legalized. It's too broad to be operated or monitored by the government knowing every problem can be blamed on them ao they just act safely when they ban or just put a note of how risky crypto is.

It's not hard to collect data and information... it's an open ledger, anyone can check anything, you just need internet and computer! But I guess that's the problem for many countries (if not all of them) because if they reveal everything they will fall so fast like an apple from a tree! Secrecy, keeping people in the dark, is one of the best tools for many modern governments, we don't even know what governments are doing, where and how they are spending money for a big part, they just say "national interests" and we can do anything about it!
One of the things I like about decentralization, it can be fully transparent! And I believe without full transparency we can't have a better and nicer world!

You are right in this, but the fact is that many cases of minor scam are not possible to be handled due to various factors. For example, a person from country A is scammed $20 bitcoin by a random person on the internet from country B. Of course, the value to be fought for is not worth the process because it is a transnational crime.
In the crypto space, civilians with zero skills can easily become criminals which is rare in traditional finance. And a corrupt government will not truly serve the people if it is not profitable.

Cryptocurrency has been legalized in some countries, and it is only banned in a few countries.
They banned cryptocurrency because decentralization cannot supervise it, and it cannot track transactions that may be used for illegal and criminal activities.
If the country legalizes cryptocurrency, they will not be able to benefit from it like fiat currency. So the government will not legalize it for its own benefit.

what you say is true but not completely true because crypto is now widely circulated and this means that this only goes back to the policies of each government because if we look at it legal or not this is like a pro and con, which means for the pros to legalize and for the cons it becomes illegal.
but they do have their own reasons for that, for example for banning bitcoin because it is based on the decentralized nature of bitcoin and that means it will not be easily tracked by the government when we make transactions and there are still some countries that consider bitcoin to be synonymous with terrorists, so they forbid that matter.

The main idea is that if crypto is basically a legal tender like El Salvador but in all nations, then there will be a lot of people moving to that. It means if banks and all those horrible companies have a crash, governments can't just print more money and give it to them to make them rich again and dominate over regular people, they would have to print their own currency, and if they do that then the price of bitcoin will go up since it will devalue fiat, which results with regular people getting richer because of bitcoin ownership while companies are getting free money but one that is devalued all the other amounts they claimed to have, now a 1 trillion company is worth 800 billion even though they were given 50 billion.

Long story short, it would destroy the power dominance of wealthy over the poor, and they do not want that to happen, can't stop it neither, so they are postponing it.

Those are some decent points but it does not really answer the answer of the OP, bitcoin is still seen with bad eyes by the governments and this is simply because bitcoin gives freedom back to the people, the current banking system has all kind of measures that are there with the intention of not letting you move your money freely, bitcoin works with the exact opposite idea, bitcoin lets you do whatever you want and this is not something that governments like at all.

First of all I’d like to point out that Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin for transactions online. Although this time around a lot of us are now looking at it as an investment asset. So, this is why a lot of things have changed. When you introduce Bitcoin to people they always see it as a means for them to make money and when they are not able to make that money they say that Bitcoin is a scam.

Yes, there are so many good things that we have been able to benefit from Bitcoin, but a lot of people can see that. I hardly see anyone these days talking about Bitcoin as a method of transaction, they only talk about how much they can make from it and nothing else. But I do understand that it would be hard for people to accept it in such a way because of how volatile it is.

I would instead answer on your question on why it's not Legalized despite of the many benefits.

Actually, one country has already confirmed that Bitcoin is legal and they consider it as a legal tender.
https://cnnphilippines.com/business/2021/9/7/El-Salvador-first-country-bitcoin-national-currency.html

Think that it's the beginning that other countries might follow as well.
For poor countries or maybe underdeveloped countries, this is a good solution to free them from the manipulation of the bully countries.
Decentralization is the key to success in some countries and El Salvador is willing to experiment on that.

Government of any nation decides what happens to the people being governed. Government decides what is legal or not. Basically, most banks or financial institutions have some involvement with the Government. To a large extent banks and government work hand in hand. Banks are institutions of third party that handle people's funds. Governments benefit a lot from banks. The original idea behind Bitcoin is the capability of 'be your own bank'. Third party is apparently eliminated. Most Governments are still skeptical about crypto currencies because they have similar function of 'be your own bank'. The rise of crypto is to some Governments is a challenge to an already existing banking sector. So it will really take some time for some Governments to legalize crypto currency. For any Government to legalize crypto currency, it means they have probably structured a way to benefit from the crypto ecosystem. Currently, crypto currencies are a lot more beneficial to individuals/decentralized bodies than the central Government.

I am a crypto lover but sometimes I agree with the rules implemented by the government from acquiring crypto. Just take a look, not all people are patient and some of them are greedy sometimes. Just take a look, if theres not restriction. Crypto can become a platform of money laundering. It can weaken the government's monetary. If there is no restriction people can become bankrupt if they will use their creditcards to buy huge crypto but become liquidated in Bitcoin futures.

The government is controlling the greediness.

Yes, you are right. There are lots of things that the world has benefited from Bitcoin, it has created lots of opportunities that we see today. The invention of Bitcoin has opened the world to a new area that we never knew existed. This time around there are lots of alternative coins and there are lots of other things that have come into play.

Now we have NFTs, and other inventions that are coming into the community. Bitcoin was the gate to it all, if it was never invented, then we wouldn’t have seen all these things that we are seeing now, all the opportunities. Bitcoin was what opened our eyes to see them all, thanks to satoshi nakamoto. So, if you talk about benefits , there are lots of them that bitcoin has brought. As for bitcoin being legalized, not in our power to do so, it is left for the government. It has been legalized in so many countries already.

Because governments are opposed to decentralization and do not want to lose control of their citizens' spending, as well as anonymity because they cannot impose on people's income, if they are to accept cryptocurrency, they must be the ones to create and control it; otherwise, they will be unable to operate.

Exactly and they dont really like on things which cant really be controlled which it isnt really that surprising that there would really be those oppositions on terms of adoption most of the time.
They dont like about being anonymous and irreversible transactions or something like that and when it comes to transparency since everything can really be checked out on blockchain
then this is something that they dont prefer but somehow there are already countries do consider on adopting or integrating it which is great but i wont be surprised if others
wont really be following the lead.

And all this is also possible using regular fiat right?

More on the government still lacking of ideas about this industry, or the influenced of conventional businesses still at large.
Cryptocurrency is a threat as this system gives people freedom to hold their money without the help of any third party system.

Or it could be that with the legalization of bitcoin, people will leave fiat currency, even though in reality it is not that easy to use digital money for ordinary people, like bitcoin, bro.

If people understand everything well, this is very possible to happen, the emerging innovations from the technology

will lead most people to accept these new digital ways of payment transactions.

it's just a matter of time, remember how we got used to plastic cards, it was also quite a long time, and now everyone has it...it's the same with bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, it takes time and knowledge in this area, because young people will quickly figure it out, but I doubt older people, in general, everything has its time.By the way, there are countries that have already legalized bitcoin, such as El Salvador.

As we all know, there are countries that have allowed digital currencies to operate in their countries and there are also countries that still prohibit Crypto from circulating in their countries, this is due to the government's concern about the risks that will be faced. besides that there are also countries that prohibit crypto in their country because they are afraid that there will be a lot of money laundering so that it will damage the country's economy. I think that's the reason why many governments don't legalize Crypto in their country.

The answer is very simple - in the presence of technological advantages, decentralization and uncontrollability by the state or specialized structures does not allow this solution to be used at the level of the state financial system! Never (in today's world), no state will allow its financial system not to depend on it!
Although it should be added - I am sure that some of the blockchain technology solutions will be integrated into today's banking and financial solutions! And the technology itself is already used in the non-financial sector quite often.

this is still propaganda. people think that because it can't be controlled, the government doesn't accept it as a legal transaction tool (although some countries have started to legalize and start making regulations about it). however, the reason is still the same, it's because of the rampant fraud that mentions the name of cryptocurrencies, and there are still many unfulfilled regulations of cryptocurrencies for some countries. however, for now it is good enough that cryptocurrencies are still allowed as an investment tool by many countries. it can be a trigger little by little crypto is accepted among the public before it grows even bigger.

In my opinion, there are many obstacles that crypto needs to pass before it can be legalized. For once, we have to remember that it is governments of the countries that legalizes things and what they see as benefiting of their country, then they can legalize. Like in El Salvador, the ministers there might have considered what Bitcoin can do to their country so they legalized it. Not sure why other countries are not legalizing crypto but hopefully we can see that in the next few years.

Benefit to the general population doesn't necessarily mean that the government is profiting out of it. If people use cryptocurrency as a mode of payment, then obviously the purchasing power of the national currency will go down. And this will make it harder for the governments to take loans, and to repay the existing loans. Less than 10% of the world nations are operating on surplus budgets. The remainder need to take loans to cover the fiscal deficit. Under such a scenario, weakening of the national currency is the last thing that they want.

This has been a topic for quite some time now, and I could not agree more that the legalization of cryptocurrency will depend on governments and how they see the overall impact of crypto in a nation. That being said, the government will most likely prioritize the consideration of its effect on national currency and operations.

Certainly they will legal jargon and get a benefit from it. The main issue is your clarification didn't coordinate with the title of your string coz your clarification didn't identify with the sanctioning of bitcoin nor cryptographic forms of money.

I would say that as long as you could make laws about the crypto world, then you can make about how legal it could be or how illegal some things are. Like does any single nation in the world has a cyber security group focusing on following the crypto transactions of fraud claims? Not a single one.

If a nation has a data tracing team that checks from the moment some scammer took the money from you and send it to somewhere else and where it lastly ended up, then it would still be quite possible to catch that person. Me personally? I can't do anything but a government can protect my crypto as well if they want to. I would rather have that scam risk and zero government involvement, do not make it legal or illegal just ignore crypto, but they do care about it and tax it so if they want to tax it then they should figure out how to find and jail crypto scammers as well.

The biggest reason for this, in my opinion, is the banks. Because banks earn their earnings from money order and EFT fees. In crypto money, there are transfer fees even in funny numbers. That's why the global economy doesn't want to allow it. Another issue is money laundering issues. Cryptocurrencies cannot be tracked because there is no identification. Therefore, there is no information flow about where the money comes from and where it goes. Therefore, states do not want to legalize it because of this situation. In short, the source of the money cannot be fully determined and its source is unknown. For these reasons, I think it has not been legalized. Finally, there is no fixed exchange rate index. It is not clear when it will happen on crypto currency exchange platforms.

I think that there can't be an ideal have-it-all situation in crypto. You kind of have to choose between complete anonymity&privacy, or complete security&mass adoption. Mass adoption without KYC regulations or taxation doesn't seem possible for now, and these things automatically negate the complete anonymity and decentralisation, two of the core reasons why most people choose crypto.

Bitcoin: a Brief History
The concept of digital currency is not new. There have been footprints of digital currency dating back to 1983, though in theories only. Since 1983, there have been many transformations, experiments, implementation glitches, as well as decentralization issues in the development of the first decentralized cryptocurrency. In 2009, Bitcoin was eventually launched as the first-ever decentralized cryptocurrency, courtesy of Satoshi Nakamoto. However, even before Bitcoin, there were several other digital coins like e-gold and Digicash among others, which somehow crashed.

TL;DR Your post is correct, I read an article about it.

Talking about legalizing cryptocurrency, yes there are many benefits but there are also disadvantages of cryptos like the price is volatile, can not recover once transaction is done, some scams, untraceable.. these are the reasons why some government not legalizing it.

I agree that I also forgot to indicate the high probability of fraud and the irreversibility of transactions. But this problem is a derivative of the advantages of technology, as it happens in our life, and there are many more examples ...
And the fact that technologies will be adopted in real sectors of the economy - you can not even doubt. For example, an interbank blockchain can be built, with its own security implementation (for example, as in YUSDT where you can block tokens), exclusively for interbank interaction. I know that some information registries are already using blockchain technology. The same work of notaries - this is the purest blockchain, where technology guarantees the immutability of notary records, which will make it impossible for many fraudulent schemes!

What do you mean by "legalized"? As far as I know it is legal to use, own or trade crypto currencies in most part of the world. Only few countries out there has made bitcoin illegal for some weird or unknown reason. If you are talking about why they are not making it a legal tender, then its more complicated than you think. Most crypto currencies are decentralized. So its hard for the government to track or impose proper regulation. Hence they don't want to make it a legal tender. At least not now but maybe in the future they will come up with something. Also risk associated (the volatility) with it is high, hence holding back the countries from making it a legal tender.

The US is legal tender at El Salvador I do not know if they have their own national currency but if they do then it must be very weak, this is why El Salvador is not afraid of doing something like this, but in the rest of the countries where the national currency is the only legal tender you are allowed to use then it makes sense they do not want to allow another form of money to compete against it, especially one that is as strong as bitcoin and that it is almost impossible to regulate completely.

The main feature of cryptocurrencies is decentralization and anonymity. But governments want to know everything about their citizens, manage everything from a single state center and control all financial flows of people in order to collect taxes and prevent the financing of illegal actions. When the authorities find a way to fully control cryptocurrencies, then it will be legalized.

The thing that makes cryptocurrencies difficult to get legalized is a decentralized system, when the government cannot control cryptocurrencies there will be many problems such as manipulation and of course hacking cases, this does not make us pessimistic about the future of cryptocurrencies as long as the global community is strong and continues to grow.

Coin is a type of software developed via non-governmental organisations and communities. Because bitcoins are similar to securities in the rudimentary notion of authorities, their acceptance as finance poses a danger to monetary system. Up to this point, analyzing and discussing bitcoins is already a contentious matter, and we already know that they also have little impact on the economies, although they will be progressively changed.

The most important thing here is actually for the general public we need to ask questions because what I have met and I feel here is that crypto can be a benefit for those who understand and want to learn about this (not the general public) because I think the general public is the majority. public.
and I don't agree with this because not all people want to study and at least do research in crypto.
regardless all this. I don't think crypto is useful for the wider community but crypto will be useful for people who want to explore it.

Cryptocurrencies also used widely that government can’t control it. Unlike in banks that they need regiatration to comply and to submit all the forms and details of each client, this thing is not applicable for crypto users who tend to apply only via email without the need to do KYC unless there is big money involve. Though this change when crypto becomes more popular and use by many. Little by little government putting rules to do KYC a lot and who knows in the future they might find a way wherein all countries will agree to do something about legalizing it but with many points to tackle first or for the new coins to appear in the future, there should be a system for them to be able to track it one by one.

It is true that no solution is perfect, decentralization brings its own set of problems that can be easily solved with a centralized service, however we must remember why we are using decentralized currencies, governments have abused their authority and in fact are doing it right now by printing huge amounts of money out of nowhere, this creates inflation and this affects the ones that are holding their savings on that currency, so in order to avoid being subjected to this hidden tax we are choosing to use bitcoin which cannot be created at will by the governments.

The decentralization of cryptocurrency is an important reason why it is difficult to legalize.
The banking system is managed by the government and can control funds, and the government can also profit from it. The cryptocurrency is not subject to government supervision, and the funds are completely controlled by the user. It is difficult for the government to manage fund data and information, so cryptocurrency is easy to be used for some illegal and criminal activities. The government will also worry that using cryptocurrency to launder a large amount of money is not conducive to the national economic interests.

there are still many governments in a country that prohibit the circulation of digital currency or bitcoin and ethereum in their country to be used as a medium of exchange in conducting transactions. and there are also countries that have allowed their people to use bitcoin as a medium of exchange. meaning that not all countries prohibit cryptocurrencies from circulating. The government's reasons for prohibiting the circulation of digital currencies in their countries are, among others, that Bitcoin has the potential to disrupt the country's financial stability due to high inflation and
Bitcoin is also vulnerable to being used for various other crimes, including money laundering and the circulation of money is also not tracked by the OJK system. this is the reason the government does not legalize digital currency

There were more other digital currencies even before the existence of bitcoin. Those didn't gain the attention of people. Those were also developed over some algorithmic platform, but bitcoin is the one that is much known to the people and has grown gradually through its phenomenal blockchain technology.

The major reason for the lack of legalizing cryptocurrencies is the fear of control. Even before legalizing the usage is big, if the same is being legalized automatically the adoption will increase drastically. Governments fear, this might make the economy go out of their control.

It is obvious the majority of the governments and others that depends on the governments are going to be against bitcoin, this is nothing new, what we need to do under those circumstances is to keep holding our coins because sooner rather than later governments will have to reverse their stance as even they stand to get some benefits out of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is decentralized compare to fiat currency so I don't think any currency is better on a decentralize platform, well the government also know this one and that is why they are making necessary moves to stop people from knowing Bitcoin. Yes, they'll create their own digital currency and China already doing this but the difference is that, it is still fiat money and they are still being controlled by the government. There's a lot of things to be considered before making this technology legal, thankfully El Salvador started this already.

well, profitable for the community, not necessarily profitable for the government or banks. So, I think there are still a lot of things that make cryptocurrencies not as well-understood as governments or banks. Because of this, various regulations were made, and one of them was banning bitcoin as a currency, or medium of exchange, because it was in conflict with fiat. it's just that the adpodsi is very large, making the government not want to close it. I'm pretty sure, even though it's still not legal right now, I think the government will make regulations so that bitcoin or crypto becomes legal but it can provide benefits to the country.

The advantage is for the society, for individuals like you and me but the government can also take advantage of it through adopting it and supporting it so that there will be more people engaged in crypto that can profit. And after that, there will be a good amount of taxes from crypto profits and that's how they'll benefit from it. Sadly, not all governments are optimistic about crypto because they're looking at crypto as a medium for illegal deeds.

what do you mean by not legalized? your post doesn't explain much about it, and it looks like a general description about bitcoin instead. i suggest you google crypto regulation first, you'll find out that government has been regulating the space for quite some time now.

Legalising is based on your own country government. They will do as per their wish. Most important one is tax. If they want some taxes from the people in the pandemic. Surely they will legalise and get a profit from it.But if illegal, huge money in economy will go to individuals.
Decentralized cryptocurrency is such a new type of financial asset that states and their governments still do not know how to treat it. In addition, it clearly does not meet the interests of the state, because it is not issued by any state, states and their governments cannot control it, and from the point of view of states, cryptocurrency is too anonymous and can be used to launder dirty money and finance terrorism.

In the first place you are correct that Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that has been boomed for more than 1 decades now.
Then, regarding about your concern question, some of the government country didn't accept the cryptocurrency if the exchange platform
is under decentralized based platform but if it is centralized exchange some of the country they are open for this matter.

Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency, I am not sure about this, but I believe that Bitcoin is the most influential cryptocurrency for everyone, it has laid the foundation for today's crypto market. Legalizing cryptocurrencies is not an easy thing. There are countries that accept Bitcoin but there are still some difficulties. The value of crypto is always fluctuating, so it is unlikely to become a payment method. Besides, countries are also afraid that the legalization of Bitcoin will affect the country's finances

I don't understand what kind of legalization you want, because most people can still use it by investing and so on, besides using it for transactions it is still prohibited for certain reasons as we know several factors.
and I personally am more comfortable as I am now because bitcoin or crypto is legal but not completely legal, I mean the most important thing is that I can still use it for assets or investments, trading and so on without involving the government or taxes and completely controlled by myself.
actually it all depends on the individual who uses it and uses it well and wisely, and you can still use it for transactions by converting it into fiat which I think is very easy and simple.

why you're not sure is there a name other than bitcoin on the back? is there a first crypto besides bitcoin? For the legality of bitcoin in a country until recently ,several countries have legalized crypto including bitcoin as a payment method it is legal depending on needs

After the launch of Bitcoin BTC and seeing the success of Bitcoin in digital exchanges and starting to be trusted by many investors, even to the lowest level, other altcoins were born. Maybe the second coin after Bitcoin is Litecoin, please correct me if I'm wrong. Litecoin was launched in October 2011. This means that it is only 2 years after Bitcoin. And there are several other altcoins. However I see the success rate of other coins is much lower compared to Bitcoin.
If only the reason Bitcoin is because of the first coin so the success rate is higher compared to the others. However we see ETH is much younger than LTC and XRP , but Ethereum adoption is much higher.

While Bitcoin has the potential to upend established dynamics of the existing financial ecosystem, it is still plagued by several problems. Government wariness about the cryptocurrency can be partly attributed to fear and partly to the lack of transparency about its ecosystem. :D
