I think 5k is possible. I remember its ATH that reaches 4k plus so this is not hard especially when ETH development is just around the corner. I don't sell my Ethereum under $5,000. Ethereum is a biggest altcoin and it is here to get price that was touched by Bitcoin in 2017. The Ethereum ecosytem is bigger and it will be bigger in the future, and the crypto ecosystem will be bigger too.

5000 will be reached, but not for now. maybe this will happen during the next long bull. for now the ethereum target is just trying to get back to the ATH price. for this target alone ethereum will face difficult challenges and take a long time. so the probability of ethereum reaching 5000 is very low.

Ethereum really doing well right now but $5k is still too far to reach mate, even we say within 2 months   still impossible because ethereum is too slow compare to other crypto currency progress in the market. Holding eth especially for long term is a good decision, the second largest coin after btc is not a small thing to overlook, the price of eth can easily touch 5k by year end if btc keep performing well, eth is top project and a must have in any wallet, and I like eth because of it's quick recovery ability, eth has a big support and user base as well, I believe some day eth can be as high as btc current price.

We all knew that FUD and FOMO made it so hard but because of established foundation, everything became all worth for our efforts and hardwork.

Even i do not mind waiting for the next few years to see the price of Ethereum cross over $5000, it all depends upon how the recent upgrade and the sensitive changes in the algorithm will solve any existing issues including higher transaction charges and it all depends upon the hype the shift of POS has garnered even though i felt like a move to attract the environmentalist and not necessarily having solutions to sort the issue in POW.

$5k level is actually achievable for eth in short period of time. I don't think we will wait for another 3 years or so just to see this price level. If we will see the impact of this London hard fork and finally see cheaper fees in eth network, maybe, we will see the price of eth rising at a very good rate. The current issue is with the fees and usually when the fee is high, the price of Ethereum must be high too but I think staying on $3k is already high for the sake of the fees.

Now wait for a good pump at least at $ 5k, it is likely that it can happen, however to reach that price level it is likely to happen if BTC turns at least to a new ath, since ETH tends to grow very fast.

The only crazy aspect i see is that the price of Ethereum keeps on rising and it is because of the speculation that everything will be working smoothly once the upgrade is completely implemented and it might take a long time for that to happen. I am not happy with the fees and even when you trying to purchase something especially auctions, then you will loose a lot of gas fees and it is not feasible on a practical basis right now.

5000 is very small target . Eth can hit 5000 in 2 days

You're too early to celebrate, I think short timeline for ethereum increase is really impossible to commence. The current price was still on process of reaching at least $4k this month. Gas or transaction fees or whatsoever, eth would still continue to soar and the adoption will keep increasing because of its sustainability. Hopefully gas issue would be neutralized and as soon as possible, that $5k predictions would become reality.

I'm more sure the price of Bitcoin in 2022 will be 60,500 USD. The price I call it exceeds the price that occurred this year where 63,500 USD is the highest so far. The predictions written in this thread make sense to me and I fully support it for 2022.

Looking at eth price raising history we can expect ETH price 5000$ very soon. Ethereum has hit almost his all time high 4362 in may 2021 so he can achieve that target. This project has been a very good performer from early days. In 2017 we used to buy on 5 to10$ price now playing on 3000+, surely will hit that target very soon.

Basically it's all depends on market conditions currently Ethereum is around $3200 if market could able to maintain its current momentum then we may expect a decent increase in the price of Ethereum nevertheless I think the improvements in Ethereum network will determine the value of Ethereum, the developers need to fix the high transaction fees problem which can be a big barrier in its growth.

It is a very very weird situation we are in right now. It could literally go under 3k or go over 4k and both of them are nearly equally probable right now. I do not understand why people are so shocked at this fact, people act as if that is normal and like "yeah up or down what a shock" but the reality is that breaking out big is not something that happens too frequently, when was the last time ethereum was under 3k and when was it over 4k?

It has been between these prices for a while now, and under 2k? That hasn't happened in a long time as well, so having a break out situation happening sometime soon where price is either 4k+ or under 2.5k or something like that, is a big deal and it is not just about up or down it is about huge up or huge down. Depends on the future of the mining a bit as well. Do you really think that when 2.0 becomes a reality people will keep on using it this much? I mean even with such hashrates it is getting so slow and expensive, staking would never be able to afford to keep it under these levels and that means a lot higher gas fee (while saving the planet a bit so I like it) and people move to other things.

We need to figure out a way to talk to developers, it has been "building it" for like how many years, and there is always this postponing thing that makes it unsure, it could be early 2022, it could be late 2023 and we will never know until those days are hit and we either see it or not. I guess that you are talking about the all time high valuation and the way in which it is taking a long time to breach that valuation once again. If that is the case you need to wait for a much longer period and you need to be patient.

When it comes to Ethereum, right now it is trading well above its use case as the transaction charges are really high and it will take months before the situation settles down and that to if the upgrade goes well. I agree with the reasons. Vitalik has burned over 100k Ethereum and ETH 2.0 makes more hype in Ethereum. This is a big sign that Etheruem price to increase to $5k sooner or later. Etherum looks a bit more like it is stuck isn't it? I mean we are looking it at right now and I have to say it is a bit stuck. I have seen it at 3.2k levels for months now, sure there were times it went up and down a little but not too much so it looks like it is stuck for sure.

Hopefully we can see it go up soon, 4k+ would be amazing, I feel like 5k+ is not in the books just yet, it will be of course, even 10k+ will happen, but I do not think that we are ready for that just yet. What we need right now is a huge hype on something, axie was a good thing that helped but I think we need something bigger, that way we could have people spending ETH like crazy. Plus the gas fee was dropping so low and it was great, it is sad that now it is growing bigger again, if we could drop the gas fee somehow then we could definitely see ethereum go up a lot as well because with cheap gas fee, people would use eth a lot more since they could afford it easier.

Things are not looking so great for Bitcoin with how it is 47k again and all that. However looking at ethereum it is up today, while most other things are down, ethereum is up and that proves your point. I personally believe that we could totally see ethereum at 4k soon, even above that 3.6k to 3.8k levels but I agree that is the thing that we should reach for now, if we can reach those prices then we could break over 4k once again.

3k is not really a full support, price did drop under 3k not too long ago and went back up, there is one at around 2680 or so, basically somewhere between 2.6k to 2.7k and that could be one, but not 3k, which is why  I am fine with 2.9k for example if it is a daily move but a crash would scare me of course. These days it is not about what the price of any coin drops to, it is about how fast, if something crashes that's bad, if you go down 10% in a single hour that's bad, but if you do that in 3 days? I don't think that's too bad.

I also see that ETH's potential is growing, personally I think it's crazy whether we see ETH surpass $20,000 in the near term. eth has a lot of chance to reach new ath because of the eth burning but eth also need to wait for momentum to make breakthrough its ath and wait for another bull market. ethereum was always surprising in its price, it can go down to below $2,000 and can get the price back up to above $3,000 so reaching new ath is possible. but more than $5,000 will not be easy although eth burning can help to reduce its supply this the total supply still too much.

You're correct on that but this was all speculations but I think it has been lagging more if we see it behind Bitcoin. I think $5k price for Ethereum alone this year is something a doable scenario considering how much development was put into, I just hope that there will be no further long delays especially the ETH 2.0 that is considered bullish. $4k might be seen sooner or later again and probably by this month alone a $5k is achievable, fingers crossed.

Resistance is nothing in bull market because they will be broken very easily.

We have watched ETH from $5 to $4k so this shows it's not a stable currency which we should have back of our minds for increase or decrease currently I m not in love with the network the higher the price the higher the gas fee which is very annoying.

Does that mean you are not at all interested in ETH? because of some of the reasons you have mentioned, now try to look at BTC, is BTC stable and the cost of gas is low? because if that's the reason, then you can only like cheap coins like Tron, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and others, because the network whose main coin price is already expensive, the transaction fees will also always be expensive if you measure it in dollars. :-\ :D

5k? I think the end of this year or next year. people say ETH is the coin of the future like BTC. ETH increased strongly when ETH 2.0 was launched and the price increased to $3.9k although it hasn't beat their record high of 4 months ago. even though the market is red I still believe ETH will go to 5k.

No matter how long it takes, ETH has that potentials, it can be one day we got to reach that value. But I think the current upgrade wasn't enough to push the market up, it needs more project support and the change of fees from lower it down as this was the big problem that we have face today. Imagine paying $15-$20 in a single transaction? No, not all have the guts to pay for that amount especially when you are just about to move $100.

If this could be addressed with the developer, it will certainly bring back the higher demand where we have seen before and probably more users to come.   

Taking into account the all time high of ethereum then 5k is going to eventually happen, however the great mystery is when this will happen, I personally think there is enough left on this bull market to reach that price at the end of this year, and in fact I think it can be easily surpassed, but if for some reason it does not happen then we are going to need to wait for years for this to happen, it would not be easy as most likely the price will go down under that scenario but it must be done by those that actually believe in the future of this coin.
