Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?

Many reasons why some countries treated Bitcoins an illegal. But we all know that Bitcoins did not break the rules of the government, in fact Cryptocurrencies are very popular nowadays especially Bitcoin, many people got successful by joining Bitcoin.

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?

There is ONE big reason why there are governments or countries that are not accepting and not allowing their citizens to legally own and hold Bitcoin...and it has something to do with the nature of Bitcoin. Fiat money is usually issued, guaranteed, controlled by the central bank of the country and because of this it can be easily manipulated and managed. With Bitcoin it is the opposite because it is decentralized and for now there is still no successful model of a country adopting Bitcoin whose economy is being helped because of it. The one in El Salvador then is worth watching.

One of the main ways countries' governments control the economy(and the people to some extent) is through the money. Completely legalizing bitcoin is obviously going to take away some of their control, and they definitely do not want that.

Bitcoin does not have a fault of any kind, but that is not enough for it to be embraced by countries. By design, Bitcoin seems incompatible with the requisites of any government. Bitcoin presents itself as an alternative payment system with its own native currency. The problem with this is that it is completely free from government's control. Moreover, it is decentralized and, issued by an unknown and private entity, no one could be held answerable for it. Furthermore, the rules couldn't be bent in any direction the government may wish. It is, after all, hard-coded in the system. But, hopefully, by popular demand and adoption it could become a legal alternative. Well, it starts to happen.

For one countries see Bitcoin as a tool for criminals because of it's supposedly (pseudo) anonymity. And then there are oppressive governments that doesn't want economic and financial freedom for their people. Bitcoin can't be tax if they are not regulated, and the news that it is being used to scam people as well. So that's just a few reasons why there are still government around the world that totally ban bitcoin and the whole crypto ecosystem.

what no one above is realising is

bitcoin was a free use asset everywhere at first. yep everywhere
and so countries had no jurisdiction over it.
they NEED to ban it. just to then have conditional use by businesses and services to then allow things like consumer protection insurance for money service businesses.
they cant audit without having the ban to then have conditions that businesses holding coin need to be audited

so dont think a country ban is a irrevocable plan.. its just the first step into then allowing regulated use and monitoring of money service businesses(and their customers). to then have legitimate and secure and insured services to offer people
(to avoid limit mtgox events)

Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?

Because it's the choice people that have been voted or grabbed power have made.
Just how gambling is illegal in some states or marijuana consumption it's legal in others, they don't fit with the current government body views. You don't like it, don't vote for morons next time.

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?

Yes, bitcoin has done nothing illegal. That's why it's not illegal to hold bitcoin or transfer them to a family member even in most countries that have banned commercial transactions done in bitcoin or trading of crypto versus fiat pair. A small difference between the coin and actual usage, with the latter being banned in the majority of the cases.

for now there is still no successful model of a country adopting Bitcoin whose economy is being helped because of it.

I wonder how many pitchforks and stakes with your name on them are being sharpened right now  ::)

Because Bitcoin is the Taliban in the world of currencies.  :D  I think the majority will eventually accept after all there is nothing countries can do because even if they ban BTC, some users are still going to trade. I have read that some countries I guess ban BTC base on their religion with their Sharia Law. But most of all is just the government prefers to have a currency which they are the ones that create.

this is your own understanding as an individual who have some knowledge about bitcoin, but the same can not be said by a person who do not know of cryptography and the fact that bitcoin exist only in a digital format make it more difficult for them to comprehend.

Government will always be against bitcoin because bitcoin is unregulated and can’t be controlled by the government.

It's probably of how free Bitcoin is. You can actually use Bitcoin everywhere without the knowledge of the government. That way, scams and other illegal activities could be used anywhere. I think that's what one of the things the government wanted to prevent because they care about the money of the people. Though most of the time, they are most likely monitoring Bitcoin still, even if it is already banned because they know the potential of cryptocurrencies.

There are only a few countries that don't accept Bitcoin (by making it illegal). And in the recent times some of them have changed their minds or are at least considering not totally banning it (like India).

In most cases, it's a lack of understanding and fear. But in some cases, like I believe in India, it's actually because of higher and higher scam complaints from citizens. Without resources or ability to prevent, sometimes the government considers a ban to be more convenient.

We can say bitcoin is not illegal, but the government can say that bitcoin is illegal because they are the regulators and can do anything they want. The government does not like bitcoin because they can not control and do not have the power inside bitcoin. So the easy thing that they can do is just spread to their people that bitcoin is illegal and hope that people will follow what they say. But as many people now get the benefit from bitcoin, people will not just stop without doing anything because they want to get involved in bitcoin and make money.

Bitcoin is illegal if your country's law tells so. It doesn't matter if scams have happened or not.
Also, the fact Bitcoin was declared illegal is.. something. It means that the govt knows about its existence and monitors it. It may lead - sooner or later - to proper regulation (or at least taxing) and making it legal again. Bitcoin ecosystem is growing and - sooner or later - governments will want at least the money associated with taxing that. And one cannot tax it if it's illegal  ;)

Well, there are two reasons as i see. BTC is decentralized and pretty volatile, you know? And it's really hard to track someone if they're using crypto for criminal stuff for example. I bet a lot of people who sits in the government are holding BTC but they are not going to accept it as currency.

The government wants to control the national economy. If cryptocurrency is used, then many transactions are transparent. The state will track people's transactions.
If possible, the government will activate its own country's digital economy. Every country wants to be a superpower. The idea of a big country would be to control all small countries.
They are not thinking about accepting Bitcoin, but about how they want to control Bitcoin.

Title: Re: Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins?

Perhaps because bitcoin is not an official currency, they have no control and cannot be controlled and these countries fear the volatility and uncertainty of digital currencies, and an often cited reason is fear that digital currencies are used to finance terrorism or money laundering.
most countries are against it because they consider bitcoin not a legal tender and only their official currency can be used for transactions, and many other reasons countries ban bitcoin on the grounds that they do not have adequate knowledge and understanding of digital currencies that make them bitcoins considered negative and positive for us.

In my opinion, there are many reasons why bitcoin is still not widely accepted globally:
First, Bitcoin is anonymous, volatile in transactions with other risks of abuse.

The second is that using/accepting bitcoin is still relatively difficult as it requires infrastructure, atm, mobile devices, computers - for countries that are still struggling this is a challenge.

Third: People's perception

Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?
Because they don't want to lose control over people and over printing money, people learn fast and many would swap all their fiat for Bitcoin to avoid inflation.
Governments and dictators can't control Bitcoin and they probably don't own it so they don't see any financial benefit for themselves, so they made Bitcoin illegal or put it in grey zone.

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?
Crazy governments made many things illegal in past, and if you study history you would see that gold was illegal, alcohol is till illegal in some countries, and it was even illegal to walk in the same street with people that have different skin color.
Making Bitcoin illegal would mean nothing because in reality people have all the power and people pay and hire the government to work for them.
If enough people wants Bitcoin and freedom there is nothing on earth that can stop that from happening, but I guess people still want safe and secure slavery.

There can be many reasons depending on the country and the policies. For example, some countries want to always control the people and the money they have, and the things they are interested to buy. Since bitcoin is borderless and will somehow make people be able to do anonymous transactions, the governments will try to stay against it. Also, Any country especially the evolved countries will try to make their fiat money more usable all over the world and they hate a competitor like bitcoin. However, there can be other reasons such as money laundering, and drug/gun deals too but these are just nonsense excuses they use.

Maybe some countries consider Bitcoin illegal because they think it is a big threat to their financial aspects, especially the big banking companies that may lose their worth because of it.  We know that every country has its fiat currency, maybe they don't want to have the complication of how to run it at the same time because we already know that crypto is decentralized so they can't control it.  Others for them Bitcoin is illegal because there are countries that prohibit gambling, especially when online and we know that cryptocurrencies are used in this matter.  And another is the use of Bitcoin on the dark web as the purchase of illegal products such as drugs and others.  But I hope they look more at the bright side that it can do for economic development

Other countries (such as Thailand) restrict the licensing of certain currency entities such as Bitcoin exchanges. Policymakers from various countries are taking steps to provide regulations for individuals and businesses on how to integrate this new technology with the regulation of the formal financial system. For example, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the United States Department of the Treasury, publishes a freelance guide on how governments deal with certain activities related to virtual currencies.

Our opinions are irrelevant if the government says something is illegal then it is illegal, it is that simple, and it is easy to see why they do not like bitcoin at all, they do not like it because bitcoin is a competitor, bitcoin not only is a currency it also makes you your own banks and some of the functions of the governments can be emulated with bitcoin which means they are bound to lose power if they support it, which runs opposite with what the governments want to.

Bitcoin can do its own function independently without the presence of the government because its decentralized. And this is why the government might be threatened by bitcoin so definitely it won't be accepted simply because it can't be controlled. And since bitcoin is very transparent so the government will definitely won't love it for sure.

However, not all countries are against the adoption of bitcoin. Some are even starting to legalize it seeing it can be an asset to change the country's economy and recover from its economic crisis. The decision whether bitcoin will be accepted or not lies definitely on its country's leader so the whole thing is dependent on him.

That's because they want to make money out of it too and they don't want an independent youth, they want a submissive one that you can control, remember that government doesn't want you to learn or have any means to overthrow or undermine their power.

Lol
Illegal does not mean it is not accepted in its entirety and blocks BItcoin transactions in a country.

Does everything that is said to be illegal have to be stolen?
Is it illegal for all actions that are not in accordance with government regulations in a particular country to be illegal?

What's the point of being illegal and legal, but in fact, what has been legalized by the government is nothing that can solve the state's financial problems.

Aren't you often with Bitcoin Decentralization? which means that governments cannot make big profits from what they have no control over. As a result, the government is confused, because it is used to a centralized system.

well, some countries like India or Nigeria have banned bitcoin or crypto in their country because there are so many scams using crypto names. In addition, in other countries, bitcoin or crypto is banned because it can threaten the use of Fiat.

however, there are many reasons to get bitcoin or crypto banned from a country. if cryptocurrencies develop more than they imagined, then they sometimes make regulations that can stop the development of cryptocurrencies in their countries. Even China and India have done it several times.

Actually, the regulation that I think is quite good at the moment is that the state gives freedom of investment to its citizens, only with the caveat that crypto has a very big risk. it applies in my country.

it's out of control mate and that's the reason why some of the country still don't want to accept bitcoin even despite a lot of people's and other country sees that there's a big of advantages on it compared to real fiats, and also by the way the risk when it comes to it and some other stuff that for them it's breaking the rules, is the common reason as well mate why other countries still against in it.  For me i dont know what rules is that but let's accept their decision, indeed every country had different rules when it comes money and etc, so its their choice and we cannot force them.. Even if you scam someone with Bitcoin, Bitcoin is not illegal.  Because it's not bitcoin's fault its your fault.
There are different reasons why Bitcoin is illegal in different countries. In my opinion, the most common cause is the fear of government money being stolen. There are other reasons for the huge dumping of Bitcoin, the lack of adequate technology and skilled manpower.

I don't think there are governments that are willing to accept btc in its decentralised form. Governments allow usage of btc on exchanges via kyc and that's killing the original purpose of crypto. Crypto financial system is designed to break monopoly of fiat and that is unacceptable for govt.

The government is not really scared about this part but what they are scared about is their power being taken away due to the decentralized network being over popular amongst people.

Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies are something that might cause the public to realize that corruption and manipulation is very much integrated and they might need some other investments for sure. Which does mean that bitcoins might be their best option right now but it would take away the investments that might have pooled in the network from the side of big whales in banks and stocks.

Often I hear the main reason Bitcoin cannot be accepted by the government is because it is not controlled, and I think that makes sense.
The government doesn't want to lose the value of taxes from people who previously reported the price of their wealth to the government, but if Bitcoin is accepted then the government can't demand someone to pay taxes because the Government can't know how much wealth the people have.
The second reason if Bitcoin is accepted will threaten the existence of Fiat in the country, because if people know how easy it is for someone to profit from Bitcoin, people will prefer Bitcoin over Fiat.

Yes, because bitcoin's volatility many governments don't want to incentive or make it legal. They say it's too risky to use bitcoin as currency or investment. Actually that is the only government's excuse that makes some sense.

The government doesn't want to lose the value of taxes from people who previously reported the price of their wealth to the government, but if Bitcoin is accepted then the government can't demand someone to pay taxes because the Government can't know how much wealth the people have.
Well, bitcoin isn't totally anonymous. Businesses paying their employees in btc would have to report the data to the government and pay taxes anyway. Furthermore, employees' btc addresses would be attached to their owners as well, so nobody would be able to hide their wealths.

The second reason if Bitcoin is accepted will threaten the existence of Fiat in the country, because if people know how easy it is for someone to profit from Bitcoin, people will prefer Bitcoin over Fiat.
People still need to take some risks in order to profit from bitcoin, but if the government really fears fiat may become useless if bitcoin becomes accepted as legal tender, it's the proof they really don't believe fiat is a good option when another alternatives are offered to the population. That means they are aware fiat is weak, fragile and just want to forbid anything that could replace it to preserve the currently system.

some countries that have not been able to accept bitcoin of course have reasons why they do that. I think maybe a country is worried if fiat is being replaced by bitcoin or other crypto and ends up making a shortcut to ban it. it doesn't matter, but if we understand it well of course we can benefit from bitcoin  itself. we can invest in bitcoin, besides that bitcoin can also be a more practical and safe payment. but again, it all depends on the policies of a country to be able to accept or ban bitcoin.

This do simply tells that you cant really please everybody and its just normal that each country does have its own views and jurisdiction towards bitcoin neither on negative, positive or neutral.
When it comes to blocking or hesitation then it all do talks about its anonymity and being decentralized and as government doesnt really like anonymity then im not really surprised on
why they do really have that kind of treatment. You cant really force off a country that they should adopt or accept bitcoin because they would always be giving out issue
about money laundering or something connected to this.

There is nothing wrong about Bitcoin normally. But the volatility determines the last decision for governments. And they don't want to make a currency that is very unbalanced their legal tender. And some of these governments don't even want to accept payments with Bitcoin. Maybe Bitcoin will be added as a payment method everywhere in the future. But I don't expect that governments of big countries will lean towards making it legal tender.

You know taxes are a problem here. bitcoin does not take money from banks. but if everyone uses bitcoin, the government can't tax it, they don't have regulations that can regulate it. so before there are regulations governing crypto released, the government will not want to accept bitcoin. and it could be a problem for the country's financial system. we know decentralization has an advantage for users, because it can't be controlled. this is another reason why bitcoin is hard to accept.

In order to legalize Bitcoin, a country has to be economically prosperous enough, otherwise it is not possible to legalize Bitcoin. In general, all the economically prosperous countries have legalized bitcoin.

There are two main reasons why countries do not accept Bitcoin. The first reason is that many countries lack knowledge about this new technology. Many of the sitting government officials and those who create laws and policies are old enough to fail to thoroughly understand and appreciate something which is very alien to the current economic, financial, and monetary designs. The second reason of course is that other countries see Bitcoin as a threat to their power and control. Money matters should be within the control of governments.

it is depend on the political views of each government as they are looking for the goodness of their people so if they know something that would hurt them then this will not be allowed.

And that is the problem , because since volatile, decentralized and anonymous this is easily to use for scamming .

The thing is that governments always want to control everything, especially finances, so they don’t want to accept Bitcoin as it is unregulated. Moreover, they can’t cope with anonymity if people use Tornado Cash for example.
As a result, they are trying to replace cryptocurrencies by creating digital yuan, but it is not the same as classic crypto as  they will still be regulated by the government.

Bitcoin decentralization and transaction costs and controls on the flow of money away from central banks and governments. Many countries do not have the power to investigate cases related to cryptocurrencies such as the US, Russia, UK or other major powers, so accepting cryptocurrencies is also a risk to the economic security of countries. that family.
Another problem is that the laws related to cryptocurrencies in different countries are not uniform so to be considered legal they must have their own laws and sanctions to deal with.

They don't accept and legalize Bitcoin for so many reasons and we have not to urge them to do that as it was their choice. Will have to respect them. We could really think and ask why and why? No matter what we do, even we spend the whole day explaining to them, that it never has an effect because, at the end of the day, they will not able to understand what you saying.
if they believe and trust crypto, they surely had come and embraced the new system in the first place but they don't, and what else we have to expect them. What we are going to do is to wait until the moment that they will open their minds and look on the positive side of Bitcoin and I know they will do it.

There are many reason that countries are aware to accept bitcoin. Well i can't exactly say what other countries reason could be but if i say why my country still didn't approved bitcoin. Well i don't give here my opinion i will say those things what i known by watching television news, talk show and news paper.

  • Bitcoin is peer to peer transaction technology and there is no history of the people’s those have done transaction. And according to government its a best method to do money laundering.
  • its price volatile.
  • Government haven't any control on any transaction. So tax is a factor.
  • If its buy/sell becomes easy in our country then it will be a weapon for criminal activists like drag dealing payment, weapon buy sell payment and many more.

For me i think this are the things what i got from different business show, tv news and news paper.

But according to me its my life. Now you may understand my feelings about bitcoin.

Many countries around the world are already accepting bitcoin as a form of payment because some governments have already realized the benefits of integrating bitcoin and cryptocurrencies into their economy. El Salvador, despite discussions to the contrary, is already accepting bitcoin; Japan also passed a law making bitcoin a legal form of online payment, eliminating taxes and establishing a framework for regulatory framework for bitcoin-based businesses. Australia also took a stand in favor of cryptocurrencies and removed the double taxation that penalized users. Countries like Switzerland, Antigua and Barbuda (in the Caribbean Sea), Amsterdam and Malta are some of the countries that have facilitated the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. To be clear, we all know that bitcoin is not illegal because it poses any risk to citizens, because it's an alternative P2P monetary system for people to get rid of state oppression and have freedom to control their money, so bitcoin is seen as a threat by the state, because the system wants to have absolute control over people, and bitcoin has come to destroy the absolute control that some countries wish to have over their citizens.

Each country has definitely its own reasons why bitcoin for them becomes illegal and does not plan to accept bitcoin even if others are already doing the contrary. It may be bitcoin as a big threat to their own government due to its decentralized in nature or because of social media news that bitcoin has been indirectly involved in  different scams. I believe if the country is willing to accept bitcoin to integrate in their traditional financial system then they can do it just like other countries who have been accepting already bitcoin payments.

Whatever their reasons behind then let it be. I believe the process will take time and hopefully once more countries will be able to accept bitcoin as a form of currency, then they will change their perception towards bitcoin. Adoption for bitcoin has still a long way to go before it will be finally realized.

Bitcoin is not a ponzi scheme or something like that but still some very "clever" people claim that. We are talking about a currency which has been in the market and grown big for more than 10 years. How in the hell would Bitcoin be a scam project? I really don't understand the logic of that kind of people. When it comes to being illegal or legal, it is depending on the laws of your country in the end. If there is no some legislation that decides Bitcoin to be illegal in your country, it is not illegal. Only in the other case we can say that it is illegal.

The nature of how bitcoin is designed, and how it is decentralized and cannot be controlled by anyone makes it a huge competitor for dishonest people who don't want it to take the place of the regular currency, the problem with our governments is that they are not run by politicians or votes they are run by business people and by the richest man who dictate how laws are made and if a law does not suit they profit they won't pass it, and that includes bitcoin and cryptocurrency because if they take over who is ever gone use the banks anymore and they will all run out of business.

bitcoin is illegal when you or the government says it's illegal and it's just an individual opinion...

in fact Bitcoin is just a cryptocurrency that was created and used to make it easier for someone to do transactions. Bitcoin is illegal = a slanderous sentence that has no proof.

Well you mentioned it already, OP anyway. They're avoiding the possibilities that those things would happen. Here in my country, KYC is strict to some custodial wallets involving crypto because they're aware that such transactions aren't traceable in cases of money laundering, which is ironically even happening outside crypto.

Bitcoin is being your own bank. It's absurd to make an assumption that Bitcoin stole something in the bank.

That POV that you've given is the same as fiat's. There are scammers that have been scamming people through fiat yet the government won't declare it as illegal since it's their own printed money.

And to the point of banning bitcoin, they don't like it, its feature and almost everything. It also sums up that they don't understand it and that's why they're not liking it and only knew that it's being used for illegal trade which is just the same as fiat.

why other countries don't accept bitcoin,? actually it is their right, but if a country says bitcoin is illegal, of course we will not accept it, because bitcoin has never stolen money from banks, and bitcoin has never harmed any country, if a country does not accept bitcoin for reasons of wasting energy, even that doesn't make sense, the proof is that there are still many other companies that cause waste of energy and damage the environment, but instead are supported by the government, if I personally think the reason they reject bitcoin is because they can't control bitcoin..

Yeah, you just mixed the words that @ropyu1978 have just said but I'll humor you, they don't have control over it but they can always go for the people who use them, if there's no one who uses it, then bitcoin is as good as gone in that country.

Unfortunately there are many criminal use bitcoin for money laundering and other crime activity, but it's not bitcoin fault. Criminals use everything to do crime. I think government should not judge bitcoin as something bad, as far as I know using bitcoin will not stop law enforcement to do their job so actually there is no reason for countries to ban bitcoin. Some countries afraid that their citizens will suffer financial loss if using bitcoin because of the volatility. Even before Bitcoin's existence, money laundering are already been there. I don't think this was a good excuse for not accepting Bitcoin but probably it was a personal interest where they wanted to control the market which is impossible to happen.
The government doesn't like people to become anonymous and they will fight for it. The authorities wanted to tax people who hold and invest cryptos but that is probably a big problem with them because they can urge people to pay for that. And this made them angry and hate Bitcoin's existence.

the only reason why bitcoin is called illegal is not because it done some crime but because bitcoin was not yet accepted or not allowed in that said country  .
however here are more formal terms  that can be used instead of saying illegal like " ban " or "restricted"  .

Bitcoin is not illegal until governments ban it. It is that simple. People who still claim that it is illegal when there is no law about it are just ridiculous. They don't like Bitcoin and they decide to blemish it. But this is really a poor way of doing this. They should come up with a better quality criticism.

Bitcoin doesn't break any rules. Governments are just not leaning towards making it the main currency due to its high volatility.

Even if it's not bitcoin's fault, part of the crime is also about bitcoin ownership and as the supreme power over a large land, the government considers more about safety, instead of omitting a few minor errors, the government emphasizes more when such omissions easily create a criminal tradition on the internet. The government has many development principles on the way to the future, they ban bitcoin but they have plans for other expansions, so it is not possible just because of bitcoin to judge the fate and future of a country

Often I hear the main reason Bitcoin cannot be accepted by the government is because it is not controlled, and I think that makes sense.
Yes, because bitcoin's volatility many governments don't want to incentive or make it legal. They say it's too risky to use bitcoin as currency or investment. Actually that is the only government's excuse that makes some sense.
Then is it for this reason that Bitcoin will never be accepted by the government?
Because the value of Bitcoin which has high fluctuations will not be released, because this has become a characteristic of Bitcoin.

It's a good thing that Bitcoin is legal in our country and some businesses are also starting to accept it. People, as well as the government, only need to see the value and importance of Bitcoin.

For this reason so many bad people use it for illegal work and do money laundering. For this reason government do not legal it. For protesting money laundering and crime government ban it form their country. Also the government don't get any tax from it. This is the reason why they don't accept it.

Many countries that are banning bitcoin are scared that it will affect there economy especially there stock exchange in becoming less valuable because many citizens will shift there view from the individual country's stock exchange to trading cryptocurrency reducing the influence of Fiat on people that are doing business transactions.

If all countries in the world decided to accept cryptocurrency, the world economy might fall because those big Fiat currencies that are used in exchange and comparison of different Fiat currencies will become less value and people will start converting there Fiats into cryptocurrency making it hard for Fiat to survive at the long run.

Why are countries that ban Bitcoin closed-minded and selfish, they should give Bitcoin a chance by being neutral first, do not immediately rush

Its always been like this.. primary concern is about money laundering or something correlating with that but i do see that the most hated thing that they arent indirectly showing off is about its decentralized aspect.

They wont really be tending on dealing or accepting things which cant really be controlled or would really be out of their hands and thats why it isnt surprising that they wouldnt easily accept nor adopt it.

Some do already banned it and some do still in neutral and some do consider out the risk and accepted it.

Some countries just don't accept it as a payment tool, only allow it to be a digital asset. It is like in my country, Bitcoin cannot be used for payment purposes, but we can use it for a digital asset. The reason is clear, the only currency accepted in my country is my national currency. It is stated in our law. While for a digital asset, it is allowed because our government already considers investing or trading crypto as legal acitivity.

Bitcoin has done nothing to them. They just want to keep people away from it because they are scared that citizens will be independent without the fiat currency. The government, the banks, they are just scared that citizens will reduce their usage/need of fiat. They want to be able to still have control over citizens and their funds. But, can they really stop it if we make it relentless? I guess not.

They have different responses, related to the characteristics of bitcoin itself, how they respond to everything related to bitcoin, it greatly influences their decision to accept it or not / will be legalized or not. I think most governments are still too worried about the risks to the government system and banks, but it doesn't rule out the possibility because Bitcoin does show many positive sides... it can be well accepted even though it is not yet legalized as a currency.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, and no one can control and track its transactions. If bitcoin is used for criminal activities, the government cannot monitor it and it is difficult to track them. Some countries are also afraid of the economic losses that may be caused by the volatility risk of bitcoin.
But with the passage of time and the development of the digital economy, more government agencies and users see the value and benefits of bitcoin, and now more and more countries are gradually accepting it.

Acceptability will take some time. With so many internet scams and ponzis floating around, the governments are right in being cautious. That said, the acceptability from the authorities have improved over time. A few years ago, there were dozens of countries where even the ownership of Bitcoin was prohibited. Now the number of such nations are in single digits. This points to the growing acceptability of Bitcoin.

In developed countries, where the people are more aware of their rights, it is not easy for the governments to ban innovations like Bitcoin. In third world countries, it is much more easier to do, because the government can just claim that cryptocurrency is being used in a lot of crimes and it needs to be banned. But even in these countries, the situation is changing. A perfect example is India. There was massive outcry in 2020-21, when the government proposed to ban Bitcoin. In the end, they had to reverse their decision.

countries have their own policies for bitcoin issues. now what we need to know is what is the motive for the bitcoin ban policy, because what we know is that the state has certain policies related to the economy. so I think it's economic reasons that make bitcoin banned in some countries. does anyone have anything to add?

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?
Here in our country, there are many Bitcoin-related scams that happened already and yet it isn't considered as an illegal. How's that then??
If somebody tried to use Bitcoin to scam people, will it be enough to say that it is illegal already? I don't think so because Bitcoin is just being used as a tool and it isn't Bitcoin's fault.

Governments want to have full control when it comes to the money and the economy of the country and Bitcoins or cryptocurrencies in general takes away that power of them.

Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?

Financial systems and regulations in each country are different. maybe the characteristics in bitcoin do not match the financial regulations in a different country. in my country bitcoin is still okay as an investment value asset. not as a means of payment because it is against the financial and banking regulations.

why other countries don't accept bitcoin,? actually it is their right, but if a country says bitcoin is illegal, of course we will not accept it, because bitcoin has never stolen money from banks, and bitcoin has never harmed any country, if a country does not accept bitcoin for reasons of wasting energy, even that doesn't make sense, the proof is that there are still many other companies that cause waste of energy and damage the environment, but instead are supported by the government, if I personally think the reason they reject bitcoin is because they can't control bitcoin..
I agree with you. If bitcoin is made as a means of fraud, this is also not bitcoin's fault. Bitcoin has never harmed anyone whether it's a country or a bank. In our place, bitcoin is still fine as a means of investing, even if you don't invest in stocks. However, the ban is aimed at the government issuing bitcoin as an illegal means of payment. The rest we are still free to invest.

That was so true. The regulation of every country are not the same but if the country is not governed by a military government and operated democratic way, there's no reason they should be against Bitcoin or any innovation technology which will move the country forward.
In your country why is Bitcoin against the financial and banking regulation?

Government placing a ban on Bitcoin does not stop any of their citizens from investing in Bitcoin and it the liberation giving to individuals through Bitcoin that the government did not like because they all lied to us that we're in the democracy while they by some means govern us in collectivism way

We know that it has helped many who understand crypto. But like anything else, even if it does bring good, of course it also has things that can harm some. It's just like the way bad people use it to hide, or transact their wrongdoings just like criminals and terrorists. They can use it freely with any things that can bring harm to the majority. Not everything is perfect and that is normal.

Why do you think bitcoin was created for fraud?
Bitcoin was created as an alternative payment currency to make people financial freedom and as a solution to inflation. This is the reason Bitcoin exile during the total lockdown and the institutional investors sees that Bitcoin was indeed an alternative investment when the fiat is unable to keep up that why we have the institution as one of the major investor of cryptocurrency today.

For sure each country which doesn't legally adopted bitcoin in the circulation of their economy have their different reasons but in my own opinion the characteristics of bitcoin being decentralize is the main reason why there are still many country or government body who doesn't open to legalize the adoption of bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Here in my country cryptocurrency were widely known and many people wanted to get involved in crypto platform but the government imposing about the scams and the risk of getting involve which of course personally I know it's because it would be hard for our government to impose taxes on crypto users.

We all know that every country's government has their own reasons why not to adopt bitcoin as legal tender and generally they assume that volatility and possible abuse of functionality are the reasons why they don't legalize it as legal tender. In the future I think these rules and regulation may still change and government start adopting bitcoin as a mean of payment, but so far I don't think we all have the right to force government and society to adopt bitcoin. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency and therefore everyone has the right to decide what they want to use including the government.

Sad to say, people are just dependent on what is the government is telling them to do so. Yes we have freedom but i think its not fully exercise like if we want to use bitcoin but then its not even legalized by our government so they are still controlling us even if its not directly seen.

And knowing how bitcoin is fully decentralized, so it will never be accepted by the government knowing they don't have its full control. And not mainly because its illegal or involve in different scams which i think is just an exaggeration because its never in its context.

As if they do have any choice? Government would be the main decider on what are the things should be implemented or not into their vicinity and its no surprise that any decentralized things or cant be controlled would
really be out of their interest.

So its not surprising that there are really countries doesnt consider on adopting it and decide for being neutral as of this moment some are already banning it and some do already accept or adopted it.

There's nothing we can do since a country does always have their own governing body whom do really make out decisions as they please.

Though it is good for us being decentralized but govt do not adopt as a legal currency. It may for centralized banks in my country. but I hope government will realize the benefits of bitcoin very soon.

No offense for other countries 🌹

Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?

Many reasons why some countries treated Bitcoins an illegal. But we all know that Bitcoins did not break the rules of the government, in fact Cryptocurrencies are very popular nowadays especially Bitcoin, many people got successful by joining Bitcoin.

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?

States and their governments have their own logic. They can recognize bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as illegal if they come to the conclusion that cryptocurrencies only threaten the existence and normal functioning of their financial system. I'm not even talking about the constant accusation of cryptocurrencies in the presence of the risks of money laundering with their use and contributing to the financing of terrorism. For this it is not even necessary that it is true. The numbers can be made up or simply exaggerated. It is quite difficult to deal with this, because the cryptocurrency also has its drawbacks and they can easily be exaggerated by states.

Almost every people will have same answer, government did not want bitcoin to interupt their fiat. That is why they decise to consider bitcoin as an illegal thing. I think it shouldn't needed because bitcoin itself wouldn't disrupt fiat because to made adoption or maybe to made bitcoin as payment will need really long time and a lot work to do. And maybe it is hard to replace fiat.

The fact that bitcoin is decentralized is what's making those countries not to accept it as is use cases yet. Government wants to enslave us forever despite being in what we called a civilized world.

It is complicated because related to a regulation of a country.
This also relates to the wisdom of a country in accepting and not accepting something new. they must have certain considerations and also significance to accept or not.
Some countries legalize crypto in any aspect. Some countries only legalize crypto as a commodity or digital assets for investing and trading but still don't legalize crypto as a currency. And some countries really ban crypto.

Though not all of them are considering bitcoin as illegal, but a lot of them are hesitant to accept as part of their financial system. Because of its decentralized nature, the government has no full control about its existence, and I believe, that's one of the major aspects they don't like with bitcoin. They don't have the full grasp about its movement, so they don't know how to regulate it on their terms.

Every country definitely wants to promote its own currency.
Small countries only want to get rid of the control of big countries to use Bitcoin as their currency.
As a large country, the United States has not set Bitcoin as a legal tender, indicating that the United States still wants to use the U.S. dollar as a benchmark against the world currency.
The anonymity of Bitcoin can protect everyone's privacy. Bitcoin makes our consumption free, but the country has to control its own economy, which will destroy the anonymity of Bitcoin.

US will probably stick to their own currency and promote US dollar as much as they want so there is no place for bitcoin because it will only destroy their own currency causing the citizens to create doubt and confusion.  And as long as bitcoin remains to be transparent which the government has been deprived, then it will never be accepted and legalized.

Not only that, even if US government will deny it but we know deeply that bitcoin has caused threat to dollar because of its high inflation than can be observed when it comes to buying even basic goods and services whereas bitcoin always has its fixed value regardless of price volatility and inflation is not really a big issue.

maybe it is more inclined to policies implemented by the government in a country, such as China which expressly rejects the circulation of bitcoin for its people, but not all countries do this, for example, some countries also adopt bitcoin such as El Salvador. , Paraguay and also several other countries that adopted bitcoin although not yet widely
What El Salvador did is just the beginning of all this and if by chance they continue to thrive and survive for a longer time and it proves a success for economic building or some sort then other countries will tend to adopt in it. History of Bitcoin and other prominent thing by now starts at the bottom, everyone seems skeptical but through time it proves them wrong, look at internet as an example and even Bitcoin itself though we really are in early stages.

the community getting bigger and bigger , the adoption widely open and its safe to say we are in the very beginning of become a mainstream shit.
we did it.
simple reason though. especially seeing bitcoin price spike high again and again , they said its dangerous and invested a lot at the same time behind that scene , sigh.

Each country has its own currency, and this greatly affects the country's economic conditions, the higher the value of a country's currency, the more "considered" the country's economy is successful. That's why every country is always competing to increase the value of its currency. The currency of a country has been considered as identity, so if a new currency appears and circulates in a country, then it is considered a threat. The government will not be willing if the identity of the country is changed.

I must admit that Bitcoin's volatility is very high, it's not right if it is used as a currency to measure the price of an item, so if at this time bitcoin is also used as the main payment instrument, it will create uncontrolled price inflation movements. This can only happen if many producers and businesses, as well as humans around the world, make the price of their goods and services using bitcoin, 1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin, not of 1 Bitcoin = 1 Fiat, then many countries jointly recognize and use Bitcoin as a currency, to become the currency of a country around the world seems impossible, unless the country's currency crumbles and is unable to stabilize their currency, as is the case in some countries with very high currency inflation, where their currency no longer has value, the possibility that happens is Bitcoin as a global currency, and in my opinion, it has happened, because the world's currency does not need regulation, it only needs an agreement between users.

This is the same reason why some counties don't allow women to drive, vote, or show their face in public.  The same reason some countries will jail you or even kill you for smoking marijuana.  Many countries are sadly still stuck in the way back past.  They don't want to progress or make changes that are progressive and good for the people because they want to maintain as much control as possible.  Bitcoin takes control away from them so they don't like it. Period.

As this country accepting Bitcoin, I don't think that they are neglecting any negative scenarios to happen someday but instead of making a big deal of those things, they are even more positive about this.

It is not really about how others appreciate Bitcoin but it is for us who trusted this project to be helpful to the community and let this personal interest will die. It is to know that many countries are still observing El Salvador and that you were right, once they saw a fruitful result to their economy, surely it gives interest to them as well.

We can't force it to other countries to believe what is Bitcoin since all they care about is how to control it but since Bitcoin is decentralized they can't do anything to control it that's why most of these people sitting in the palace are making their own rules and regulations that their people should follow or else their monopoly games will be destroyed anytime.

This is what most of the people sitting in the government would follow if they were greedy enough to take control to almost everything. You can take the example for China on how they don't want their fellow men to invest in Bitcoin because they can't control over it or simply just it's not their work that's why they never want to support it.

They don't have to implement adoption for bitcoin, they can be neutral or be positive on it and then the process of adoption will come naturally. Those countries that don't like bitcoin, have internal reasons that might be threatening to them and we don't know how they'll change their view on bitcoin. Sometime in the future, it is likely that they'll change their view on it when bitcoin is fully adopted in most countries and when they see that the biggest companies have adopted and invested on it and they see many individuals have made a lot of money on it.

Although every country has inflation. But what they still hope to develop is the national currency.
Some small countries will choose Bitcoin for the economic development of the country. Not all countries are suitable for Bitcoin.
If the government cannot control Bitcoin, it will choose not to recommend it to everyone, because it feels that the safety factor is low.
Now that more and more countries accept Bitcoin, I believe other countries will gradually change their attitudes towards Bitcoin.

Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?
Some countries just don't accept it as a payment tool, only allow it to be a digital asset. It is like in my country, Bitcoin cannot be used for payment purposes, but we can use it for a digital asset. The reason is clear, the only currency accepted in my country is my national currency. It is stated in our law. While for a digital asset, it is allowed because our government already considers investing or trading crypto as legal acitivity.

in my country also enforce it. if viewed more broadly, the regulation seems to provide limitations but small-scale restrictions. only direct transactions are prohibited using bitcoin. but despite such regulations bitcoin is still one of the most popular assets in my country and many people invest money into bitcoin.

every country has their own reasons for rejecting the existence of bitcoin, like my country the government is afraid of money laundering in its country's officials, and companies in my country
Due to the anonymous bitcoin system for its owners, it is difficult for the state to detect it
your right the owner of Bitcoin is anonymous so they cannot  find suspect if Bitcoins has gone. it's better safe than accept crypto without seeing the owner.

Some government tainted bitcoin illegal because it is a decentralized system and warns their citizens from using it. While deep down it's fir their own selfish interest basically because they want to continue to have that control over your money.
