I developed a high interest in Bitcoin lately want to accept Bitcoin for my sales and servicing company, am already working with a programmer to develop software or an application that will aid my transactions using the Bitcoin lightning network.

As the saying goes, no man is an island of knowledge, so I shared my story to get suggestions from this noble forum.

Congratulations to introduced your self as a bitcoin merchants. Soo you will be called with that name. We have soo many wishes to you soo that you can achive your goal and your business definitely run very good. We all are in bitcoin all because of business what ever angle you see the motive is about business but we can't get freedom from government. But you get it and you are doing this thats really cool. I also have a wish to make an online store and payment method will be crypto.  I wish government approved bitcoin then i will made it. Lets hope for the best.

This is a brilliant move and I know your business will be better for it, most especially if your customers are informed about bitcoin and know how to use it, most especially using the bitcoin lightning network to make payments. I know the development will not be easy, but with technical knowledge, you will be able to scale through.

By accepting bitcoin as a means of payment, we are only concerned with scalability.
The Ligtning network seems like the best option for bitcoin at the moment.
I have not used the Strike wallet that LN uses to be able to recommend, I wish we had easy to use solutions to send and receive bitcoin.

I have the BlueWallet but have not tested one bit how it works to recommend it.
I think that in your case it could be useful to teach your clientele in a simple and motivating way how to use bitcoin, it could be a good marketing strategy.

In my eyes this is really a great idea and good step. Hope this will increase your store selling rate. Accepting Bitcoin as a payment is really a great thinking. In future hope everyone will do it. But your developers need to be more conscious about a little things. Otherwise you should face big trouble. So gather knowledge from whom who accept Bitcoin as a payment in his/her shop. You can use the typical crappy BitPay, but most definitely go with BTCPay[1]. Free with zero fees, and completely open-source. And yes, lightning[2] is available too.

I was about to recommend the same btcpay too as it has low operation fees and is user-friendly compared to other lightning network payment gateways, but again I will also advise you to keep on with the development of your payment app as you said with that you will code in some features which will be unique to only your specification and will not be a public app because of a hack in the future.

Good step bro. This is what many people have been waiting for. With the many development of payment programs through applications or whatever, it is very much needed by someone who holds bitcoin. We will be made easy by that. One-touch transactions with no hassle at all. Hope the plan is successful.

BTCPayServer is completely open source and has been viewed and audited by lots of developers already. It's not like BTCPay is for holding and storing bitcoin, you only accept payments through it.

Starting from scratch to develop an application might have its own bugs and will take some time to perfect as you need to test and not rush the proces. You might want to be careful about how you price your items in bitcoin because the customers might be paying alright now but the next day, it becomes more expensive, hopefully it can be solved by what you're going to use to integrate bitcoin payment in your system.

I don't know if it's going to make things better when you do this, but I think you could give your customers discount when they use the payment option for bitcoin, it could in a way encourage them to use bitcoin but at the same time makes you a helper in spreading bitcoin through engagement instead of just curiosity.

we can say this is a very good idea, if you accept payments in bitcoin, because we can make payments in just two easy ways i.e. scan and pay. No need to register, swipe card, type PIN or sign anything. All it takes to be able to accept Bitcoin payments is to display the QR Code from the bitcoin wallet app and allow the other party to scan your phone, or touch both phones at the same time, hopefully with you accepting bitcoin payments, can make it easier for us, and people who want to learn more about bitcoin..

I am so glad someone is opting for the Lightning Network and not the original Bitcoin (BTC) payment option. I personally feel people are put off from the concept of paying with Bitcoin, when they have to wait for transactions on the Blockchain to confirm. (Some of these transactions during congested periods, can take a few hours)  ::)

The Lightning Network is fast and perfect for use, when you want to use Bitcoin as a payment option. OP, thank you for doing this.... I hope you are going to implement some kind of incentive to encourage people to use this. (Example : 10% discount for people paying with the Lightning Network)  ;)

As much as bitcoin is easily transferrable I would never ever treat it as a medium of exchange just as cash would. With its ever volatility in nature,  it is kind hard to track but I would rather see it as much like gold... a great store of value. So to pay something with bitcoin is really not my cup of tea.

pay with krypto, you can say wow, because it sounds very cool, but for me personally I can't accept it, if the company pays everything with bitcoin, but I will receive half my salary with fiat money, and half with bitcoin, because in the country I can't accept purchases using crypto yet, so that's the reason I only want to receive half of my salary, paid in bitcoin..

Do you check the liability of using bitcoin as a payment method? In some country (mine for example), using bitcoin for business is fined for a huge money and if you commit again, you will probably go to jail. Not all place on the world is healthy for bitcoin to thrive.

What i can suggest you maybe really focus on money management. Because as company there are employees which must get paid too and with bitcoin volatily, company that accept bitcoin as payment should know when to maybe sell the coins so they are not lose in money but will be different if all people in  company agree to decide when want to sell their coins by themself.

Actually many people have try that concept of exchanging their products with cryptocurrency but is not every country is acquainted to cryptocurrency, i think that should be one of the major reason while some people dislike payment with cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, but anyone that is civilised will definitely accept payment with cryptocurrency, likewise me i will accept payment via cryptocurrency payment than fiat payment.

This is really great that you are actually doing something like that but I would rather suggest you to move the funds after a certain amount to a safer wallet. Lightning network for sure is amazing but it also has its own disadvantages. Therefore you have to really study about it before you can bring it into practice.
At the same time if you are actually accepting Bitcoins, I do think that you might as well try and incorporate other cryptocurrencies in the same thing. At the end of the day, the market is competitive and it would help you out in many ways, technologically, personally and professionally too.
You also have to understand the fact that not all wallets support lightning network therefore you can also try and use segWit, it would not be that fast but it would get the job done if you are accepting online payments and have a window or 'time limit' arranged for it.

If in your place there are already many people who know and have Bitcoin then the idea you are going to do will definitely work, but of course you have to manage the value of your transaction or payment carefully. 
Because we know that the price of Bitcoin goes up and down quickly, don't let anyone lose in the transaction later.

I agree with you. Scalability is a concern for me too. Another major concern I have is its susceptibility to fraud or malicious attacks during congestions. I’m hoping your developers find a way to fix this vulnerability.

If you are looking for help in implementing the lightning network among your payment channels for the business you own, I would stand with what some of the guys here are saying which is to check the technical board since there is no specific lightning network thread within this board. Then again I am quite glad you took great interest in bitcoin, so much so that you are willing to risk by imposing it as an available payment channel for your service. People like you who took the initiative and went head-on first will most likely be the pioneers of the new currency system once bitcoin becomes accepted not only as a valuable asset and a store of value but also as a fully-fledged currency. Best of luck for you til then. If what he's offering is available for redemption over the internet, I don't think the locale will play a big role on how well his bitcoin payment channel will be. And I would assume it will be over the internet since bitcoin works best over the internet anyway. Then again I might be wrong, and what OP may have in mind is some sort of over the counter payment method, much like credit card swiping.

IMO, this is a brilliant idea. Accepting Bitcoin as a payment currency will take you to another level entirely. It can attract crypto customers to you. let's say I have some BTC, I'll really want to buy from your store because you accept BTC. In short, I'll find it fun as a customer. Just don't get discouraged to use it if you don't get customers paying with BTC at the start. Eventually they'll start coming, and those who don't use it may even get to know more about it.

Many more this kind of step will really make Bitcoin as a global currency more and more popular. Today, mass adoption of Bitcoin nad also other cryptocurrencies are widely spreading. Many more companies are accepting payment via Bitcoin.

You're plans for the future is having great potentials, only that bitcoin was volatile and it certainly involves huge risk. Good thing that you had tap someone who can help you set up your own programmed system for cryptocurrency payment. It's not an easy diversion to take, so by the time you'll hit the benchmark of success in bitcoin I think it's a key for other business to venture this kind of strategy.

Let the transaction take hours to confirm if there is network congestion, why not take your national identity card copy
for the transaction by the customer and that will be helpful if he makes a double spend at a later time. For the past month the transaction fees are really low and the confirmation time is low as well.

I am yet not sure whether the current development in lightning network is more than enough to consider them as a solution. If anyone wants to attract audience, giving discount is more than enough.

Man, you nailed it there! that's right you need to set it up with a lightning network to avoid delayed transactions and to save some gas fees. May you become successful in doing that so that the other companies will do the same as well. It all depends on the nature of service you render and how many the number of your clients that can afford to pay for your service in Bitcoin or other crypto currency considering the transaction fee but it's a welcome idea you can actually give it a try but do well to still keep us updated on your achievements in regards to the project

What are the new companies that people can pay by using BTC?

Tesla will be considering bringing back the bitcoin payment option but I don't think that we're going to see Amazon doing it, didn't they publicly claimed that the rumor wasn't true and that they don't have a say as to considering bitcoin as a payment option on their website.

They could give their employees choices, they could either be paid in crypto or fiat. Having its own bitcoin payment system is a great stepping stone for the business, since they are accepting bitcoin, employees should be knowledgeable on how to operate it. This could lead them to be interested in it as well. It would be easier for them, for sure.

I'm glad to see business owners wanting to add bitcoin as a payment option.  I feel like I've been seeing this a bit more and more of late.  I actually helped get my dog groomer set up with accepting bitcoin for payments.  We just made a simple QR code sign that would send any payments to her wallet directly.  She's not very tech savvy and just kind of setting this all up otherwise she'd have gone a different/more professional route.

Some newbies might not really know what lighting network is so let me briefly explain it for them.
Bitcoin has been around since 2008, with only a few people knowing about it and having access to it. Transactions were normal because only a few people knew about it, so there was no congestion, but as more people learned about it and tried to make transactions with it, the transaction congestion increased. One of the major issues with bitcoin was the ability to only make seven transactions within a second when the system was always congested, causing transactions to be slow and sometimes transaction always fail, Transactions always take time to complete, and gas fees are always high, which is one of the issues.

People were discouraged from transacting with bitcoin in the early stages of the currency.
After discovering their weak spots a few years later, bitcoin attempted to improve their transaction by introducing the LIGHTING NETWORK, which was established in 2015 with the goal of making bitcoin transactions faster and lowering transaction fees.

WHAT DOES LIGHTING NETWORK MEAN?
Lighting Network is a second layer application that is built to run on a bitcoin blockchain and employs a micropayment channel to facilitate transactions. Since the invention of the lighting network, transactions done using it have been simple, inexpensive, and do not take long to confirm, unlike transactions performed on the main bitcoin blockchain. The lighting network is always off-chain, and it was developed to relieve congestion on the bitcoin block chain.


WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF THE LIGHTING NETWORK?
Lighting network is a method of transferring funds between two persons via channels, allowing them to send and receive payments from one another.
It works like this: two people can build a multsig wallet and deposit money there if they want to pay money to each other frequently and quickly.


These are off-chain transaction records that are safeguarded by a time stamp on the blockchain. After each transaction, both people digitally sign and update their versions, which is commonly done by scanning a QR code.
The primary issues that LIGHTING NETWORK was created to address include:
- One of the issues that it was created to address is the issue of slow transaction times.
- To make bitcoin simple to use and to allow it to be used for daily transactions with low gas fee or transaction fees .

One of the disadvantages of the lighting network is that it may be easily hacked because all transactions are done online, allowing hackers easy access.
- Transactions on the lighting network cannot be completed offline.
-Depositing bitcoin to multiple signature wallet makes the bitcoin difficult to sell since it has to be transferred from bitcoin blockchain first

-If bitcoin price is dumping or pumping to much you will see lots of payments channels close as multiple sig participants sell there bitcoin because of panic or profit this could shrink the size of lighting network or cut-off some bitcon holders.

Making a payment with is never be new measure to our society or community today because before i joined  the community the information is all over around the corner that someone purchased items with bitcoin and items was pizza, which many people has been maky a payment with cryptocurrency more especially pizza another any other thing, i could the last time i saw a child on the street playing alongside the road during school time then i asked her why are you playing all alone she said that they sent back from school because of school fees then i want with fiat or cash but took her to school and after explanation i made a payment with bitcoin and the management accepted it, bitcoin is viral and everyone wants you to pay with bitcoin.

Its really good to have choice like this but the question is does they can able to take up the high fees by using bitcoin? sometimes that one is need to be consider as companies are losing money for paying such huge fees if the network is congested, Also stuck transaction due to low set fees is a concern to so maybe this bitcoin option to pay to your employees will get a problem knowing we can get stuck for many days for it and its stressful for the employee to encounter this issues.

You have a point, but some stores or individuals are accepting bitcoin with an equivalent value in USD, such as $60 worth of bitcoin at that price, which appears to be risky given that the price, as you stated, is fluctuating, whether you gain or lose money. Still, it's a nice , but the issue right now is the pricing, which is quite erratic.

Indeed, our country has banned it as a legal tender. But I think there are some people who have deals with bitcoins. But yes, I know it's very rare, because it's illegal and it's against the law. Lightning network is the most cheaper way of accepting Bitcoin as payment in your business but i believe that this is only applicable in small transactions .
so best that you will be open in other altcoins not just bitcoin because there are also alts that good for accepting as payment with speed movement and not affected by congestions in network so the fee is maintained lower than Bitcoin in which sometimes experience this huge transaction fees.

Regarding the high costs of using Bitcoin for payroll, maybe the fee is passed on to employees who choose Bitcoin for their salary payments.
Because it is impossible for the company to bear such large costs, therefore if employees want to receive salaries in Bitcoin must be willing
to be deducted by transaction fees. If they are not willing to choose fiat for salary payments, the company concludes that they give
employees a choice. Because from the start the company did not force employees to receive salaries in Bitcoin.

I'm sure the OP actually already has a growing business. only, he wants to add bitcoin as a means of payment. this is a great innovation.
but it all depends on what business you run. because not everyone in the business knows crypto.
if the goods and services offered are something that is a good market for most members of the community. it can be an advantage.

such as people who have accessories business, such as t-shirts, jackets, and other products. they have to offer in the right market. if you accept payments with crypto such as bitcoin, then the target community is the crypto community with correlated products.

OP has a pretty good idea, he sees and follows the development of technology that is increasingly sophisticated and modern.  This is exemplary, and it is from people like this that technology will come to its fullest.  Accept payments with Cryptocurrency, In here haven't done that yet.

I think that you might be able to get away just using regular network if you merchandise is not considered micro transaction, and i think there a lot of providers out there that provide crypto specific machines that are made to make paying easier by just scanning and depending on where you live it might be better than just paying a programmer to make an app that can have some flaws in it

Well that's a huge lose for employee's imagine they will shoulder the high transaction fees if this really meant to happen. Instead of they can use the amount to buy goods but they used it for fees for this incident for sure many employees would not like to receive bitcoin that's why this things need to consider first that's why I can say that this bitcoin plan payment is kinda not happening for now as there are many flaws regarding to this plans.

It’s not a bad idea, you can go ahead with it. Though I have not seen people that are making use of lightening network for this project, but that might be a good thing to go for. Other companies that I have seen accepting bitcoin are not saying anything about lightening and I have also not seen major wallets allowing lightening network on their platform. So, I’d say before you go ahead with it, try to understand it very well, and know everything about the lightening and how it’s going to impact your business and all that, and also know whether it’s necessary, although I do know that for a fact you have to make your transaction faster.

It's just useless worry when the secret keys for wallet access cannot be given to a programmer, even if he asks for access, you still need to work directly with the programmer, and even if he does get access, we still have a contract of employment and know in advance about this employee's reputation, you cannot hire someone whose documents can't be referenced. But this plan is probably only for large scale like Amazon, Ebay, Paypal, for small scale companies, resources should be shifted to more advertising as well as hiring talented staff.

Bitcoin payment is a good way of payment for countries that allow the use of it. I think general adoption of Bitcoin will take some time to come by due to factor that limits its acceptance as a legal tender factor-like decentralization and anonymous and the rest. In this time there are many companies are using Bitcoin as a payment. Tesla use Bitcoin for permanent of vehicles, LOT polish airlines are using Bitcoin for payment for flights. In future, it will be source of payment for business.

Avoid posting like this. This is a thread about a platform that accept bitcoin as payment. This is only possible in countries where bitcoin is not banned. There may be people from other countries that still use bitcoin but in hiding or in secret as a way not to be put in jail because of it. Casinos have this one where they accept bitcoin so you can gamble and they also pay bitcoin for cash out or other cryptocurrencies.

it is a really big step for crypto when a lot of companies and industries accept bitcoin as a payment method, I think we all heard the news about Amazon probably would accept bitcoin, but it turned out to be fake news, but if they did and they only accepted bitcoin I won't use it to buy small price things, fees will take a lot from everyone, accepting other cryptocurrencies is the best way to go, but maybe bitcoin will be just the first step.

When LN is already official or havent any bugs then i could really say that it would really be good on having that integrated on common businesses or merchants but on the current state on where

it does still have that scability issues then this is one of the reasons on why it isnt really still globally considered or adopted yet by most companies or merchants out there because it is just normal

Sounds good, it's just that maybe you will add another effort/other steps related to Bitcoin characteristics and price fluctuations, you can get more profit if the price is in a high trend.

i think it is more crypto users prefer Altcoin to use as payments than bitcoin mate because crypto users tend to keep hold of their bitcoin while wanna spend altcoin because of having lower transaction fee and also faster delivery .
