Title: The truth about PhoenixMiner
Post by: Susyn0d on August 29, 2021, 07:05:11 PM
Few moths ago phoenixminer get rejected from nicehash and also deleted from GitHub and no one know what is the reason, today i have proofs that the miner is infected by a Trojan banker
Trojan Banker is :{
Trojan-Banker programs are designed to steal user account data relating to online banking systems, e-payment systems and plastic card systems. The data is then transmitted to the malicious user controlling the Trojan. Email, FTP, the web (including data in a request), or other methods may be used to transit the stolen data.
}
Here is the proofs:

So stop using this miner immediately, and change all passwords
Thank you

That may have been somewhat true in the past,as in their Github repository at least miner 5.5c or a version earlier which had a lot of bat files related to all coins to mine may have been corrupted.I was seeing change of pool randomly using this version of miner.I immediately delete it and never download anything of their Github anymore, and even Phoenix stated that the only website where to download their miner is in their website in the official thread of Phoenix miner in this very section of the forum.Since they moved all their mining software to their website,I have been using them from a few months and I see no real threat, and my antivirus is on all the time.

I have told you trolls many times, is not the program itself you are using, you need to protect yourself from them, make sure no bank or online payments are made on the same network mining activities are running, dont blame the program if there is a trojan on it, you are responsible for your own actions or programs you run in your computer.

I don't know what you are talking about either as I am running this latest miner in the same PC where I have a stationary wallet like Exodus who sends everything I earn to my other more secure wallets and every payout from Ethermine comes in this wallet where this miner is mining and nothing has happened to me,I have mined during the months about 1.20 Ethereum and I have received all of it without problems.Check your PC or your antivirus software for false positives, nothing wrong with Phoenix miner for me since they switched to only one bat file in their mining software instead of many of them. That version I remember was corrupted or better I did not download it from the official source so my bad.

You're new here, PhoenixMiner has been around for years. There have been some issues with the miner but
they're mostly well known, except by you it seems. You haven't shown proof of anything.

Go away troll.

You are dumb, we all know the reason and its been discussed adnauseam specifically on this forum.  Nicehash was stupid enough to update their downloader with the wrong virus infected phoenixminer that was never posted by phoenixminer himself and had a big smear campaign to try and promote their new nicehash miner instead.

That or the OP clicked on / downloaded one of the malware PhoenixMiners that keep popping on up their announce thread till the mods delete it. Or found one of the other sites pointing to the wrong github account.
Sadly it happens a lot.

It's hard to tell if it's naive ignorance or just part of a smear campaign. Either way it's
irresponsible to make such bold accusations so casually.

As a security precaution I never used any mining software or coin wallets (except
Maybe Bitcoin core or electrum) on any of my PCs for this fear.

Back in the day there were tons of coins created and impossible to tell which was legit or not. Many of the new coins had virus in the wallets or some miners had viruses in them also.

Even these days you get some newbie who posts a link to a virus infected software promising LHR GPUs nonLHR performance.

Phoenix miner should be safe on standalone mining OS like hive OS because you can't keep anything on this OS and neither can you browse on them either, phoenix miner won't be able to steal anything through hive OS

Use PhoenixMiner on Hive OS, Raw OS and other systems. They test miners before adding them to their distributions.
Cryptocurrency is not yet regulated everywhere, so there will be a lot of scams and viruses.
If you mine on Windows, then you need to download files only from trusted sources.

If Nicehash can remove phoenix miner from their software and OS it means that phoenix miner isn't safe on even mining OS, it's bette to be safe than sorry later, phoenix miner is bad and that shouldn't be hard to accept, use trex instead

Phoenix miner is just good as any other miner, they just differ in how they are built, for people like me who are mining on Windows and have mixed cards by both vendors like AMD and Nvidia Phoenix miner is one of the best miners together with Nbminer,T-rex is Nvidia only miner. In the crypto world freedom is the word everyone likes and you can choose for yourself which miner to use, however you should not bash other miners without evidence and Nicehash did the wrong thing here and not Phoenix.Just download the files from only what Phoenix miner official account posts here in their official thread in the first page and first post there. If you download from some other source you are doing so at your own risk.

Nicehash credibility is more in question than Phoenix. They were the ones that got phished into downloading
a pirated version infected with malware. There's nothing wrong with the legitimate version.

I agree, Nicehash are the ones to be weary of. Been using Pheonixminer for most of this year and never had any issues.
OP needs to do more research before posting lies....

NiceHash is insecure too.
NiceHash is not an authority among miners and many professionals dislike this service. My colleagues have been waiting for a refund for over a year.

Is this even real? I'm been using nicehash since 2016 and I was a victim of the hack too but all BTC that I lost have been paid, tell your friend to go check his old wallet address, it's what I did and I found my BTC balance in the address, everyone I knew got paid/reimbursed.

Let every miner use whatever software he likes.
If you download software from a phishing site, you will have problems if you run it on a PC with classified information.
Needless to say, PhoenixMiner is dangerous because nicehash removed this miner.
I use this miner and everything is fine with me, but if they cannot figure out in nicehash that there are no viruses, then they are idiots.

I don't know what you're talking about. Who is "you"? What is "this"? Where is "here"?
