Title: Can't withdraw money from LocalCryptos
Post by: DaveMan1948 on September 02, 2021, 04:02:59 PM
Is anyone going through the same thing right now? I have a minuscule amount of ETH left in my wallet and I want to simply withdraw everything from there to Binance. However, when I try to introduce the wallet that contains the crypto, everything becomes a white screen and I have to refresh the webpage, which means I have to start all over again.
Even if I let the address of origin to "automatic" and I manually introduce the amount of ETH I want to withdraw, nothing happens. There's no option to actually make the transaction.
Did someone hack LocalCryptos or what?

The site cannot be hacked because the wallet you created is non-custodial. So unless the amount you have is held by the platform (escrow), withdrawing shouldn't be a problem.

How did you create your account? Was it using an email/password combination or by connecting your Ethereum wallet? If the former, then you can export the private key, import it to MetaMask (https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015489331-How-to-import-an-Account) and then use the funds from there.

Nobody hacked them, but I heard that some government agencies infiltrated that website and created one or more accounts so I suspect they are under some investigation including all people who trade there.
They created account called Mr.Coins and it turned out it was controlled by IRS for catching small fish who avoid paying taxes or who knows what... it's really pathetic, but LC don't have kyc so something like this is expected.
They even built 100% positive feedback and traded around $200,000 with 50 trades, so I would be extra careful trading from United States and suspect in everyone now.
Maybe your incident is related with this event, so I would follow instructions that OmegaStarScream gave you in previous post and withdraw coins with other wallet.

Yeah, this is definitely a warning sign.

Don't think that you can avoid tax obligations through these p2p sites. Deal with caution and care, don't ever reveal your identity, and try to use anonymous fiat payment methods when possible.

Imagine if this was a fraudster instead of the IRS who is just collecting personal info and onselling it.

The problem could be related to the small amount of ETH you are trying to send to Binance, maybe the ETH is not even enough to fund the transaction fees. Right now transaction fee i worth 0.001827 ETH ($6.99558)

Otherwise, I used the exchange today and I didn't face any problem.

Can you try to access your account and withdraw them through incognito mode or use other browsers instead?
It might be a browser issue clearing the cache might help if not then it is a server issue from their side.

I would suggest you contact them from their telegram here https://t.me/localethereumdotcom then report the issue.

I don't think this is the cause of the problem because he gets the white screen even before clicking on the Transfer button.
Since LocalCryptos' wallets are non-custodial, then the best solution is what OSS suggested. Export the private key by going to your account wallet and clicking on the down arrow next to "Recommended for deposits" then click on Display Private key. You can then import it into an external wallet.

You could be right.

Probably his browser or internet connective has a problem. I just made another transfer of Litecoin today to Binance with no single Hiccup

Maybe it was a temporary issue on the site.

If you still can't withdraw the funds then import it to another wallet as others said or simply sell the ethereum you have and get the fiat into your bank account so that later you can move it to another exchange and buy ethereum there.

Yes its bit expensive but something is better than nothing. @OP if you are active please mention the current status of your issue.

It is a user end problem so try to turn on VPN, delete cookies and other basics.
LocalCryptos have problem is that their fee estimates are not accurate at all, and sometimes even when you click on the maximum, the fees are still low and the confirmation times are very long.
Also, most people on this site have more than one account and thus increase the risk or receive money from a party who may be fraudulent, stole or perform an illegal act.

any way read this topic --> https://www.reddit.com/r/localcryptos/comments/g8j6d8/problem_with_localcryptos/ so i dont think it is a server problem
