I'm like to create a topic, to discuss/analyze some NFT artwork.

In which tab do you think will be the most appropriate place to open this topic?

It's probably going to be best placed in the altcoin discussion section or in off topic if it's just a review of current pieces.

Unless it's speculation and then it could go in that section. I think you'll get the best interaction in the altcoin section anyway too (compared with the more bitcoiny parts).

Probably (based on the rather vague description) Altcoin discussion. All NFTs, by their literal definition ("non fungible token"), are altcoins and as such topics about them belong in one of the "Alternate cryptocurrencies" subsections.

But I think it looks like we should have our own board to discuss NFT in this forum. What's more, maybe many of the users of this forum want to have a discussion about it, and are confused about finding a place for it.

just to confirm this, a few days ago a thread regarding NFT games and its company was moved to altcoin discussion

I thought speculation board for bitcoin price speculation only?

I think if it does not relate to price analytics, you can choose Altcoin Discussion. If it relates to price analytics, you can choose Speculation (Altcoins).

Your local board only have 7 thread discussing about NFT and you want each local board need the NFT section? It's really clear lack of discussion and not reasonable to add that section especially to each local board.

Even Altcoin Discussion global board has more thread created and activity, but most of them didn't discuss with high quality post and only shills about their NFT project or spamming.

No one confuse to find NFT thread by using search function, they're only confuse didn't find a good thread with NFT discussion.

Adding Lightning network child board or own local sections of active local thread (e.g. Pakistan, Bangladesh, Serbian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Nigeria etc) much more reasonable for me, because lightning network is a major solution for scalability problem on Bitcoin. While the local thread they have many topic or discussion to discuss but they only have 1 thread.

That's Why I Say We Should Have Our Own Board For NFT Discussions, The Current Situation On The Altcoin Discussion Board Is True What You Say Most of Them Didn't Discuss With High Quality Post and Only Shills About Their NFT Project or Spamming.

Word we refers to your own local board.

It's a matter to find a good user with high quality post, not adding NFT board. Add NFT board with current users which like to spam in this forum = meaningless.

That's a bit of what I want to avoid, this won't be a speculative or spam topic. It's a work of analysis that I'm preparing, with careful information and that can be pleasant reading for everyone. It will involve a lot of work.

I would not want to fall into the middle of spam-only topics, thus losing its true value.

But, as I said, there is no way to escape the Altcoin Discussion tab...

Amazing! I'm Waiting For Your NFT Topic ;), I Also Have Interest In NFTs Space, Especially In The Copyrights That This NFT System Can Protect. We all know that copyright is a common problem in many countries today.

There really shouldn't be any confusion, because as has been explained NFTs are tokens on a blockchain that isn't bitcoin's, so any altcoin section--whether the English one or on any of the local boards--is the appropriate place.

I also disagree that the forum needs a separate section for them, nor do I think Theymos would even consider it.  My personal thought based on what I know about NFTs is that they're just a fad, no matter how popular they are at the moment.  I have a really hard time thinking of digital artwork as something that's going to be desirable in the long-term, no matter how unique each piece is.  The problem is that there can be an infinite number of unique pieces....and they're digital.  There's a world of difference between a physical piece of art painted on canvas vs. something created with a computer--and I don't think that's just me being old school.

But, this was the same idea that there was, in the middle of the sec. XIX, when photography appeared. And nowadays, no one questions photography as an artistic expression.

Of course a lot of NFT is just another banal image, and will certainly go out of favor over time, but some works will certainly be recognized as excellent works in the future.

That's a bit of what I intend to do, show the artist's version of some works.

@mprep, given that any discussion of NTF should really be in Altcoins boards, I wonder if this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5356141.msg57766268#msg57766268) belongs there? I didn’t want to open a new thread because of it, but I reported that thread twice, and even though the report was marked as good it is still in Bitcoin Discussion...
