Title: WTB - EU - Out of order / Broken Mining GPU for art project.
Post by: remi3297 on September 06, 2021, 11:01:12 PM
Hello,

I'm looking for dead mining GPU's for an art project, it'd be nice if the fans could still turn but not a big deal if they don't I guess.
Even if there are some part missing that's not a big deal, i'm mainly interested by the shell with fans.

Tell me the model you have and i'll see if they interest me visually.

Also if you have an idea of any other place where I could find this kind of stuff that would be really nice.

Thanks and have a nice day,

Rémi

Since it's just an art project, then you should probably consider 3D printing the GPU shell while using a real fan, as opposed to printing that part as well [it's way cheaper]:

  • e.g. RTX 3080 is out of stock, so I 3D printed one - 3D Printed RTX 3080 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Betq8k_ubhM)

It's not that hard to learn how to design the shell with free websites like "Tinkercard (https://www.tinkercad.com/)", then hire someone to print those parts for you.
- Based on the type of GPU shell that you're after, the whole process might be easier/harder.

Update:
Hey, thanks for your answer, I didn't thought about 3D printing.
You're very welcome :)

We have 3D printers in my art school so it's an easy plan b ahah.
Best of luck ;)

Reusing dead components was a part of the artistic approach in this project but I might go with this solution if I don't find anything.
