Title: New to Cardano Ada Alonzo Hard Fork - DeFi, DEX, Smart Contracts & Apps
Post by: very_452001 on September 06, 2021, 11:48:08 PM
Hi,

If I hold Ada before and after the hard fork at the end of this week then will I get a free 1:1 airdrop of the new Alonzo Ada? Like Bitcoin cash did to bitcoin holders back in Aug-Sep 2017?

On coinmarketcap where can I see cardano dex's or if they are not released for the public market then where can I buy ada dex's tokens?

No. Alonzo is just an update for ADA to finally have a smart contract feature. There are several forks or updates for ADA before alonzo since the shelley but this isn't making free money for holders, think of it as update for ETH like the fork of Berlin.

There are several projects of DEX and DEFI check this https://github.com/input-output-hk/essential-cardano/blob/main/essential-cardano-list.md#the-essential-cardano-list

There are hard forks and hard forks that result in a chain split (when there is a consensus discrepancy between a group of nodes/miners). The latter is the one that caused the "airdrop" of the BCH coins.

Everybody has head of 'ERC20' under the Ethereum Ecosystem.

What's the ERC20 for Cardano? CRC20 Huh
