personally, I don't know. but there are talks regarding Paraguay as the "next" one to make bitcoin as a legal tender.

there are a lot of articles regarding the topic and people are making assumptions about it too. but at the end of the day no one really knows whether the "supposed next" country who will legalize bitcoin as a legal tender will ever do it.

I also come across this news that Paraguay is considering legalizing bitcoin and also Honduras? not sure about the second but the first sounds legit.

But Serbia ? where did OP get this News , is there a valid reason or proof.

It is still the people who lives in that specific country will decide.

Like what El Salvador did, when now Rallies and protest are happening because  they did not get the pulse of their people instead they had pushed the  law easily .

Next Country to accept bitcoins is legal tender will be   BLANK?   Serbia.

I guess that the next coutnry to accept Bitcoin as a legal tender will be a country from Latin America,Asia or Africa.Underdeveloped countries would want to adopt a currency, that is more stable than their national currencies and a financial asset, that is widely adopted worldwide.
What makes you think that Serbia is the next country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender?I know that many Serbians are active in the crypto world, the Serbian local forum in Bitcointalk is pretty active and lots of crypto businesses were launched by Serbians.
However,I think that Serbia won't accept BTC as a legal tender, because the Serbian national currency is stable enough and Serbia doesn't have the problem, which El Salvador has-lots of people not having access to banking services

No one knows for sure! Because not every country is vocal about their plans on their own fiscal policy. So we might very well get a surprise when we know the name of the next country.

But there are couple of countries where bitcoin could receive a blanket ban in near future. Like India or Bangladesh could soon release an official statement about the bitcoin ban they are planning to impose. Clear difference between progressive and regressive mentality!

As far as I know they have passed crypto regulations late last year or early this year. So for now we can say that Serbia is a crypto friendly country. But as far as legalised it, we can't really say for certain.

And as what @davis196 said, most likely countries that are developing and under developed will legalised bitcoin and it could provide access and tap its potential as medium in terms of financials.

Well, as far as I know, it's just a joke - or the OP is just thinking out loud since it's probably from that country. That country is still far from allowing such freedoms, and the only thing I have heard recently coming from that country is that one person was killed by a crypto miner (electric shock), and that one illegal mining farm was discovered.

Serbia is about to get into EU by 2025 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accession_of_Serbia_to_the_European_Union).

From what I know, it's just a rough date - and considering that Serbia still denies all the evil it has done in the wars against its neighbors, and still claims the territories of other countries in a project they now call the "Serbian world." (before Great Serbia), it would be insane to let them into the EU, especially with the problem of Kosovo and what they are trying to do in Montenegro.

Agreed, while it may be hard to speculate which country will make crypto, and particularly, BTC legal tender next, countries from the underdeveloped regions will have more of a reason (and probably find it easier) to get this going.

Perhaps, it will be a matter of months to see how El Salvador will do as a test but I can see this legalisation extending over time. Not sure which country exactly will be next but it will be an interesting turn.

Well one thing is for sure, the next country definitely won't be China, unless, ofc, some magical bat hit the leaders and magically made them forget about their hate towards stuff they can't control, then there's close to zero chance that they'd accept Bitcoin after all the shenanigans they did. I'd reckon the closest countries that would next accept it would be those that have much lenient laws and whatnot with regards to crypto, after all, I hardly doubt it would be popular in a country where laws about Bitcoin (or crypto in general) were in a tight leash.

I'm not that familiar with their politics vs the ex-Yugoslavian territories, but I expect it's not all nice and dandy.
And I also know that all it can take is new elections and new leadership for a change in the "official line", at least as declarations, and it may just be enough for EU.
Of course, I may be too optimistic (for EU, not for SRB), but I think that EU should become a new US and then a lot of problems would no longer exist.
Keep in mind that EU is not that strong politically and it's easy to make compromises, mistakes and moves that can help only on short-term (and on long term may be pretty much a mistake).

However, back to the topic, the date doesn't even matter that much, as long as that's - more or less - the direction (EU and probably EUR). And that makes Bitcoin quite unlikely in the equation.

I don't exactly know how they're going to benefit from making bitcoin a legal tender in their country but I don't think that Serbia is the likely one that's going to accept bitcoin as a legal currency.

it could be paraguay indeed.
or the neighboring countries of el salvador. neighboring countries and the most part of latin american speaks the same language,  it will be easy for them to all adopt BTC.

no candidate in the part of Africa so far even when in this part of the world should cryptocurrency be also useful.

So far, I haven't found anything when looking for information about this, because there are people who are busy right now, apart from Elsavador, yes, Paraguay is actively adopting bitcoin, but for Serbia, I haven't found anything, maybe if someone finds something, they can provide a source. or a link that does point there.
but the good side that is accepted here is that the longer bitcoin is getting known and automatically everything that is already known it will be very good if we have it.
so, take advantage of the opportunity in that case, take advantage of the momentum in every incident, don't let you be good at analyzing but still hesitate to have a treasure as good as this.

It would be random!

We dont know on what countries been cooking into in terms of adoption or something like that.We havent even expected that El Salvador had made out some considerations on making Bitcoin as a legal tender.

Didnt remember the next one or country though but once it had been done then we can presume that some would really be next on line.So everything  will really be always on question

but its good to see that we are already recognizing and there are countries which did really make out such step.

Honestly speaking i don't have any such idea. Because who know which countries declared that hey we are ready to use bitcoin and give it legality to our country. Honestly speaking i didn't hear El Salvador countries name Before they becomes a trend after gives bitcoin legal tender. We normally think us, uk could be first for bitcoin legality because they are always aware to use advanced technology of this world. But who thought El Salvador comes in this race first. Now its little tough for us to say who comes next. Lets see.

what do you mean comprehensive list? as of right now only El Salvador has made bitcoin as a legal tender. the other countries are just being speculated whether they are going to be the next country to make bitcoin as a legal tender. in short, there is no "comprehensive list" since there is only one country at the moment that made bitcoin as a legal tender.

Any country can be the "next".
Different countries will have different choices. Some small countries may use Bitcoin for the development of their own countries.
Superpowers will not choose Bitcoin as their legal tender.

the next country that accepts bitcoin as a legal tender, according to my prediction, most likely the country that will accept bitcoin as a legal tender is a small country, it is a small country that will follow the steps of el salvador, like tanzania, in my opinion if a super power country, most likely The country will not follow in El Salvador's footsteps, because they still strongly believe in fiat currency, which is controlled by the government.

I hope making Bitcoin a legal tender benefits them though, Though I'm positive the future currency lies in Bitcoin, and if not specifically bitcoin then Cryptocurrrncy, cause just like how Fuel is being shunned and gradually rejected for automobiles bringing in solar powered cars, I guess it'll be the same for bitcoin, it'll soon make waves everywhere. Not just for small countries like El salvador.
Hope it also becomes stable and doesn't crash every now and then like how it did some hours ago.

Aside from El Salvador, the country that officially accepted bitcoin as legal tender yesterday, no other country has done so. All the rest of the countries are just considering accepting bitcoin. I recently read a report that the Cuba Central Bank is considering the recognition and regulation of crypto used for payments.

It is not clear which country will then make bitcoin legal tender, but I firmly believe that if the El Salvador economy is able to develop after legalizing bitcoin, then it is very likely that some countries will also follow the same path as El Salvador is now.

You would be surprised to know what is going on here, but we will not go off-topic - I will just say that the EU wants to get Serbia on its side, before Russia does. Unfortunately this cannot and will not happen - one man rules that country and controls absolutely everything - and here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5354381.msg57804117#msg57804117) I have written something that best depicts him and his character.

However, back to the topic, the date doesn't even matter that much, as long as that's - more or less - the direction (EU and probably EUR). And that makes Bitcoin quite unlikely in the equation.

Of course, the chance of an EU member setting Bitcoin to the level that El Salvador did is, in my opinion, less than 1% at the moment - and for a country like Serbia to do so is even lower. Such fake democracies that are actually dictatorships have never been and will never be a place where Bitcoin can prosper.

I'm thinking of a reason why the OP said that Serbia will be the next one that will accept Bitcoin as a legal tender but I can't think of any :D.
Maybe he has an insider telling about it or maybe he is from Serbia and he just thinks about his country accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender or maybe it is just a guess. A prediction :D.

Either way, words aren't enough for us to believe what the OP is saying. As always, sharing some credible links here will make us believe :). On the other hand though, there might be another country that will follow what El Salvador did. Which country? W don't know but I'm pretty sure that what El Salvador will create a domino effect against other countries.... or not.

Serbia? I'm with those rumors lately that it's gonna be Cuba, Paraguay and Dominican Republic. I don't know and can't be sure with that but those countries were on the news that seems to be also interested with crypto. It seems that many country in Latin America are looking forward to be open with bitcoin adoption. I think the ideal countries that are next to El Salvador is Venezuela and Zimbabwe. These two countries are known for the hyper inflation that's happening there right now.

I agree. I also don't think Serbia is a plausible next country to accept bitcoin as legal tender. While their citizens are enjoying the opportunities bitcoin has to offer, I think their government isn't much fond of crypto the same way the Serbians do. The focus of their government officials is on their own currency which is Euro. And this scenario isn't really surprising because Euro has a good potential as well taking the dollar aside. As we all know, Europe is also at the top of the game with developed countries and good economic states all over the world. The most probable countries to follow the step of El Salvador in accepting btc as legal tender are those countries in South America specifically Paraguay which has been said to slowly adopting bitcoin.

I don't hope much with the next countries that accept Bitcoin and consider it as legal tender.

I am waiting to see what will happen with El Salvador after a few months. Will the world, the IMF, World Bank accept this legal tender implementation in El Salvador?

Will they easily to let El Salvador do what they want with Bitcoin?

I believe those organizations and big nations will try to do something, to challenge the legal tender process because they're aware that Bitcoin will make their fiats and CBDCs look worse.

Form the mainstream media, I have heard rumors about the following countries (listed in the order of most probable to the least probable):

1. Panama
2. Malta
3. Paraguay
4. Venezuela
5. Nicaragua
6. Argentina
7. Brazil
8. Cyprus
9. Mexico

For Panama, check this article:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/panama-touts-bitcoin-ethereum-crypto-132554068.html

Unfortunately, almost all of these countries are located in Latin America (with the exception of Malta and Cyprus). Asian nations remain hostile to Bitcoin (including the two most populous ones - India and China), and although larger EU nations such as Germany and France are more pro-Bitcoin, gaining status as legal tender is a long way off.

I think that the next country to make Bitcoin legal tender is Cuba. I have already seen some news about it that Cuba is preparing to accept payments with Bitcoin. Maybe after some time passes, they can also make such move like El Salvador did recently. And many Latin American countries seem like they can really do this one by one. Especially these countries are very interested in this and following El Salvador's process closely.

There was a lot of hype regarding one of the crypto bills in Paraguay. But after the bill was introduced in the parliament, many of the experts claimed that it was disappointing for the cryptocurrency industry. My next hope is on Panama. There is a good chance that they will make Bitcoin as legal tender sometime soon. But I expect a more cautious approach from the other countries. In El Salvador, the implementation was done in a matter of 1-2 months, and there was not enough time for the industry to make the necessary arrangements.

I think the next country to except bitcoin as legal tender will be Argentina.

Argentina has a long history of massive inflation and as a result the devaluation of their peso.

Argentinians deserve to have a legal tender that will be protected against inflation.

My initial research did not put any particular country as the next country where Bitcoin will be declared a legal tender. Which I think it only means that there might be no plans for any country as of the moment to make any policy changes and declare Bitcoin as some sort of legal tender. It will be difficult for a country to adopt Bitcoin that easy without any objections from that country's banking sector and financial sectors. But if I am really going to answer the question. Then it is likely that the next country where it will be declared a legal tender might be another small country with very less financial resources.

Cryptocurrency and the blockchain industry has been one of the biggest trends as of lately. I don’t know which country is going to make it a legal tender next, but I am hoping to see one of the developing countries accept it as a legal tender. I believe that any developing country that accepts cryptocurrency we see major growth in the years to come.

Because the area of blockchain and cryptocurrency has been growing so well, if you look at platforms like LinkedIn, you will see that most companies are looking for experts in the areas of blockchain and cryptocurrency. And companies like this that are focused on cryptocurrency would like to have an office in a country where it is legal for them to operate freely.

I have the hunch that possible country/ies that may follow El Salvador's path is/are those neighboring countries of El Salvador.
If they see the positive impact on their market, they may ask assistance from El Salvador.
We will see the short term impact maybe after 6 months or so, because right now, its people are still in the stage of installing the app and trying it out using the free $30 sign up bonus.
Now, after those free coins are all consumed, we will see if the citizens will continue to use the app with their everyday activities.
A lot of known food chains in their country are now accepting bitcoin as payment, so we will hear also the feedback from those shop owners if it is indeed good also for their business.

Nobody knows exactly. It might be Paraguay, Venezuela, Anguilla or Panama. There is a CoinMarketCap vote where the following countries get Votes:
Paraguay 215,183 votes
Venezuela 162,642 votes
Anguilla 94,840 votes
Panama 42,350 votes

https://coinmarketcap.com/legal-tender-countries/ (https://coinmarketcap.com/legal-tender-countries/)

Of course, these are all predictions and do not necessarily reflect the truth. They only express the opinions of the participants who have voted, but the real results will appear in the near future on the ground.

I took part in that vote too
although there has been no official notification made by the government of that country

btw, countries in Latin America seem very interested in making bitcoin a legal tender
very sure with Paraguay or Venezuela to be the next country to make bitcoin a legal tender

If El Salvador serves as example, the most likely candidate is a country without its own national currency. A politician could genuinely claim to desire independence from the United States Federal Reserve (The case for El Salvador, where the other legal tender is the USD). Of course, Bitcoin also gives individuals independence from their OWN State, but this is generally not a problem when there is no national currency to begin with.

Or, its a place where The State hasn't that much power and its people can actually push them to adopt the new global currency.

No more exchanges or outrageous remittance fees. Where does this wealth goes now? You guess it. Adoption makes sense from an economic point of view, it will occur anyway, but those who act first, will obtain more benefits sooner.

Forget Venezuela, we (the people) can adopt it but the State never will, at least not with the current people in power. They are too happy slashing zeroes from banknotes, to them overspending works fine, "capitalism is a lie", and they can print as much as they want because nothing happens...

This is very hard to predict - but for one, we know that adopting anything early has its advantages. If a country adopts BitCoin as a legal tender now, they will probably be the very few countries to do so - and the amount of crypto currency that will enter that country will be huge. Chances are that in the near future, they will be the holder of most bitcoins. If more countries start to adopt BTC as a legal tender - soon the early adopters will become rich.

Think on it - if you ban Gold today, your country will become poor and you will do a lot of dis-service to your country. If, let's say - India, bans bitcoin today - it is likely that India will be at a loss if BitCoin becomes a legal tender in many countries tomorrow.

Am sure many smaller countries with weaker economies will start to adopt crypto currencies soon and by doing so they will become a strong economy in the future.

Previously, I was skeptical about progress on the possibility of opening legislation regarding legal tender for bitcoin from Paraquay, but it seems they have been behind Ukraine as they have become the 2nd country to do so get it after El Salvado. Many of the countries on this list are leaving the possibility of legal tender for bitcoin in the near future if the negotiation process can come to a final decision.

I think next will still be Paraquay

the issue of Paraguay will make bitcoin as a legal tender very strong in recent days...

as you said that it is not easy to make bitcoin a legal tender, there are many considerations and also voices in the government that must be involved. I still predict that before this year is over there will be other countries that make bitcoin a legal tender following in El Salvador's footsteps.
