Title: Did you see the Tom Brady FTX Crypto Exchange Commercial Last Night?
Post by: ChiBitCTy on September 10, 2021, 02:46:25 PM
I was pretty surprised last night when watching the NFL opening game where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off versus the Dallas Cowboys and a Tom Brady commercial came on where the was promoting cryptocurrency and the FTX Exchange.  Honestly I don't know much about this exchange, but I loved seeing this commercial.  For those of us that have been "around" for a while, seeing this stuff still kind of feels surreal.  All the ups and downs we've been through etc... Crypto is mainstream ladies and gentleman !

I don't think anyone missed his spot since it was the Tom Brady show instead of the NFL. :D
He has been into cryptocurrency for a while now as I posted about it on a sportsbetting thread dedicated to the NFL:

Since the news is slow pertaining the NFL for the start of the summer cause most of the players are practicing their golf swings. :D
Thought I would put up what I heard about Tom Brady saying something about being interested in cryptocurrency and talking about them everyday and has even invested in certain ones but wouldn't say which ones exactly. Which is different from what most who have celebrity status tend to do.

Even going as far by adding the laser eyes trope which has been making the rounds displaying being in the know when it comes to crypto recently on twitter.

By the way, him stating he is pro-bitcoin means alot nowadays when it comes to a celebrity endorsing any cryptocurrency and not just some random flash in the pan altcoin. ;)
Also FTX is a common name now since they have their logo brandished on the umpires of every MLB game since the beginning of the season.

FTX has been having brand collaborations left and right lol. Just recently they partnered with Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry. They're definitely doing marketing A LOT better than Coinbase right now, though Coinbase is still definitely way ahead.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.  This is certainly HUGE that cryptocurrency is getting this type of attention from big celebrities.  Especially a celeb like Tom Brady and having that commercial playing during the opening game of the NFL season where millions upon millions of people were watching.

Do you know if FTX is a legit exchange? Or I guess I should ask, is it not corrupt as all hell like Coinbase is?

It's a legitimate government-compliant US based exchange like Coinbase. As for reputation vs Coinbase, I haven't heard any significant complaints concerning FTX but maybe that's just because they're significantly smaller than Coinbase (hence why there obviously would be far less complaints as well).

You also missed a very important point @mk4.
FTX is a derivatives exchange is not exactly like a coinbase or a binance. They deal in futures and options.
There are several high profile individuals who in the last little while had bought a huge amount of shares in this exchange such as Kevin O'Leary.
And as stated on the thread I linked inwhich you were involved in the conversation is only available to U.S based customers.

Yeah, similar to what we have witnessed back in 2017's bull run. Many celebrities join the bandwagon, but it seems that this is different.

Only time can tell, but definitely it's good overall. We as traders have so many options right now. Not sure what you mean by Coinbase is corrupt, but there are many complains about them, like going down with we are in a massive spike to even manipulation. Hopefully FTX will be different though, a new face to challenge the status of Coinbase and Binance or any other derivatives exchange in the market right now.

Ahhh I sure did.  Thank you for clarifying that.  I kind of thought that was the case, or at least I kind of thought that they weren't a regular exchange.  Can you not just straight up buy Bitcoin or Doge or whatever, is it only derivatives purchases?  I like the fact that they seem to cover a wide variety of products/services.  I will go check out that site now and see what it's all about.
