Im wondering how I add an image to my profile as I feel it is about time I do so.

Any help would be appreciated!

You will need to be a full member before you can wear an avatar/image.

This will perfectly answer your question: Newbie with avatar? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5295682.0)

It is a glitch and a privilege for grandfather users before that day when Newbie restrictions (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15958.0)

The newbie used to be a Jr. member in the days only activity point was taken for ranking up End of newbie restrictions; ban changes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423995.0). Before Jan 2014, the user had 47 posts so it was enough to be a Jr. member.

Restriction to wear avatar for Full member was on since Avatars re-enabled (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1008863.0)

It is now once again possible to upload an avatar to the forum. You must be a full member or above to upload an avatar.

old era Jr. member (with activity > 30), worn signature, still have it after demotion to newbie. It's a glitch.

It seems to be fitted with Bitcoin talk's important historic changes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5186820)

The copper membership enables newbies to post images, I think it will also be right if it enables the lower ranking members put on avatar. Unless there are some fears of abuse.
Copper membership gives some benefits but it does not allow non-Full-member users to wear avatar.

  • Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.0)
  • The Copper membership only gives a several (not all) same permissions as member rank (not Full member rank). Click to the topic above to see details.

You cannot add an image/avatar in your profile because only full member does. I asked my brother the same thing so that's why i knew. However newbies will be able to add an image if they would pay some small fee. In my opinion i think it's better to wait but if you're eager to do so then it's up to you as well.

Eclipse33 is already a member and he has purchased a copper rank. Those newbie restrictions don't apply to him.

That's not a guide on how to add an avatar. it's a thread that explains the benefits of purchasing  a copper membership. It also explains what restrictions are lifted with the upgrade.

Yeah, I thought there is such a thing as this on a purchased copper member account. Anyway, from what I have understand in the thread created by Theymos, your level of freedom as per restrictions wasn't clearly stated but, I think uploading avatars isn't one of them.

Here Is a quick and simple guide for you to upload an avatar or signature on your account should it display this way. Mind you, should it not, it imples a restriction which could only oepn in course of attaining higher ranks.

Firstly, you click on your profile, then you click on forum profile information, then you would see in board Avatar and a blue write up that says, 'go here'. You tap on it and then you would see a browse file. Click on it and you would be directed to your devices media to search for desired avatar. Note, avatar of size 120 × 80 is desirable and of at most 80kb otherwise, its most likely not to display even. After selection, you upload and its done. You've just got to wait a while for it to display.

Here's an image on what your likely to encounter:

I actually visited that thread and was wowed to discover that at a point in time newbies were allowed to even wear avatars on this forum. BTT must have grown from basic to the complex state it's now. This is sure a long history for BTT. I know more restrictions and twerking will come up in the near future. The twerking is a progressive sign anyway, and a way to record progress and catch up with modernity. I joined this forum pre-merit and all that was needed to rank up was mere posting and its activities, it didn't matter whether one made valuable posts or not. It's a good thing that a mechanism is now in place that checkmates spamming and shitposting, at least to some extent.

~
These are the bonuses that Copper Membership offers in terms of "level of freedom".
By popular demand, newbies can now pay to have some of their restrictions lifted. If you pay the fee, you become a Copper Member, and you can post images. That's the main point of this: allowing newbies to post images. Additionally (and these might change depending on how things go), Copper Members currently have these bonuses:

- Some of the same permissions as Member-rank members, such as reduced signature styling restrictions. (But none of the PM-related restrictions are currently lifted, such as the style limit or per-hour PM limit.)
- Your "you must wait ____ seconds between ___" counter is reduced by 75%. So if you're naturally of Newbie rank, you only have to wait 360-75% = 90 seconds.

If you paid an "evil IP" registration fee, then whatever you paid (in BTC terms) is subtracted from the upgrade fee. If you paid a registration fee a long time ago, you might even get a free Copper Membership due to the increase in BTC price. Just visit the link at the bottom of this post to check whether you have it already.

I am aware that for most people the benefits of this membership are pretty lame. This membership is only intended to fill a specific niche; if you don't need it, don't buy it. It is not intended to be the lower-cost Donator/VIP alternative which I've talked about before as a possibility.

I wrote the system so that I can easily add additional paid memberships in the future, but I might not ever do so. Not sure.

You can buy it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Buying CM also whitelists your account in terms of the PM restrictions as from what was mentioned in this thread:
  • New PM limits (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2536728.0)
  • Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0)
