Title: X17 Mystery Chip
Post by: NoKeyboard-BTW on September 18, 2021, 01:26:38 AM
I've been searching high and low for any clues on this mystery SXE chip by the boost circuit. Could anyone provide a clue what it is and if you can obtain it online. If so, where I could start to look. Or if anyone is selling a few of their personal stash of these I'd love to take a few off your hands.

Not sure what you mean by the 'boost circuit'

Asicboost is a modification of the internal ASIC hashing function to produce more nonces.
Thus it's simply part of the internals of the BM1397 i.e. a change in the silicon design of the BM1397 vs pre S9 chips.

Hi Kano, This chip is located below the "boost circuit" zone according to the manual (image beow). I'm now leaning towards some type of linear regualtor but still guessing at this point.
