Title: Bitcoin academy
Post by: B_Money_DAO on September 22, 2021, 06:50:43 AM
Dear friends, there are people among us who have very serious knowledge and experience about cryptography and cryptocurrencies. Let's set up an online system and create a network together where they can share their experiences and knowledge as a teacher. I think it can be done inside Bitcointalk. In this way, we can create the sparks that will carry the world to better places with the synthesis of different ideas as we all develop. In this way, we can explain to the world that cryptocurrency systems are not just financial instruments.

There are a few "academy" crypto education platforms that already exist:

- There's Unchained Education which is created by NewsCrypto: https://newscrypto.io/es/unchained-education/
- Also Binance Academy: https://academy.binance.com/en
- BTCLexicon: https://btclexicon.com/
- There's also my own (work in progress) academy at https://notatether.com/academy/

You can take a look inside these sites if you want. Bitcointalk isn't really a good place to set up a platform like this because threads keep getting pushed down to page (10, 50, 100, ... you get the idea).

people among us who have very serious knowledge and experience about cryptography and cryptocurrencies.
Knowing something well is something, teaching it to others is an entirely different thing.
For example I sometimes see educational type topics in Beginners board that are so bad that are almost misleading while the author may actually know better.

I also don't see the need for anything new in this field. We have multiple independent work being done, from the links @NotATether shared to well known websites such as the bitcoin wiki, stack exchange and this forum and on top of that we have a lot of youtubers making educational video (some of which are good).
I suggest you only pursue this idea if you have some innovative idea that hasn't been done before and you know can really change the game.

I think it can be done inside Bitcointalk. It is Bitcointalk.

I mean, we already have subsections for almost every single subtopic that has some demand. Why create new ones? Unless you have a subsection recommendation that admins can add.

Apart from crypto academies listed by NotATether, there is a lot of educational material available online in general. There's Investopedia  (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bitcoin.asp)that covers some topics related to cryptos, there are educational channels such as the channel of  Andreas Antonopoulos (http://youtube.com/c/aantonop) on YouTube. Moreover, many universities  (https://www.stoodnt.com/blog/top-5-universities-for-blockchain-degrees/)cover blockchain and crypto topics to some extent these days. There's a lot of info out there, which is why creating yet another project doesn't seem necessary. When people need help with something in particular, they can always ask about it on Bitcointalk. If they want more info in general, there are enough places where it's available.

The community of bitcoin talk from anywhere is directly attached with the business of cryptocurrency having different academic knowledge & experiences of crypto.
In fact, This is an informal academy where every person can talk about his business matters and share his experiences. Everyone can give advice and consult some to get advice. So for better goals, a team or group can be managed on this platform for gaining better knowledge & advice about bitcoin past, present & future business.

Actually, there are many academies that teach about crypto, even in my opinion, this forum also allows us to gain knowledge. Maybe what you mean is more specific, if it is specific, the academy will pay because you will be taught more intensely.

Virtual classes? there are too many crypto academies already that are making this a service. Actually, there are too many resources for which you only need to be patient reading most of those, and even some of the exchanges are giving the newbies a good start with their academy.

This forum isn't good enough because the knowledge in here is convoluted with opinion and subjective facts that's not useful if you want to make an academy because it doesn't aim for any objectivity. I think a better approach is either having a subject that's focusing on crypto in general and any related subject to it.

I don't think so it needed. Because online has everything what you need. If you want free course then youtube can give free courses and the influencers shares their experiencess too. Then also coinmarketcap, binance has own Academy where you can learn from the best crypto developers About development and marketer about marketing. So we don't think its truely needed. Just need one thing for you which is reasearch. If you research about it then you might already get it. Thank you i hope you understand.

Even in this forum there are more than enough people who are proficient in cryptography knowledge. You just have to walk around this forum reading some of the great threads that have been provided. Interesting, educative discussions are also things that will provide broad knowledge. I grew up in this forum, it shows that this forum has a lot of knowledge that you can find every minute. We just need to improve reading literacy.

Thank you for the information you have shared, it is quite useful and practical. In addition to the above documents can refer to many other websites. I love learning new things at Reddit, twitter. There is a page that talks about the C98 project's cryptocurrency https://coin98.net/ . Although the language is not English, they are quite useful.

This popular university in Cyprus offers an online Master of Science degree program in Digital Currency. The good news is that if you want to learn about the basic principles of cryptocurrency, the first course “Introduction to Digital Currencies” is free, and includes 12 hands-on online sessions.

University of Cumbria
Next, what is a blockchain without a crypto part? This UK university offers a free online course that talks about how cryptocurrencies are driving the future. As a result, students will explore the reasons why crypto is hailed as a valuable monetary asset.

So you mean an academy or school all intended for Bitcoin? I don't know but it depends on the fees you will be providing, I think it is essential, but, with so many platforms you can use for free, you can easily gain knowledge without having to spend for anything, all you need is your smartphone or desktop with a good internet, go on to this forum and you'll bump on to a lot of threads and topics that can easily give you knowledge.

Yes, that's true and on top of that the people who have the knowledge unless incentivised enough they will not use their time telling/teaching others as their time is valuable.

It is because of this that I think this may not work out so well. Why would really knowledgable people disseminate the info when they could use their time more effectively else where? There are too many people that you could describe as 'Samaritans'

I do not think this is a good idea, for those that actually want to learn about bitcoin and do not want to just earn money then the only thing they need to do is to make an Internet search  and then learn all what they want about bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, an academy seems not only as a waste of time but it also goes against the principles of bitcoin of decentralization, so if people actually want to learn as much about bitcoin then I expect they at least show the small initiative of making a small research.

This community is already a network, we have different boards and sub boards. The thing is that new users wanted to learn everything is just short amount of time, adopting knowledge in crypto is not a sprint, it's a marathon. So the longer you stay the better if will be for you.

I don't what to say this, but it's better not to spoon feed crypto enthusiast. That's why hackers are taking advantage of them, they thought investing in bitcoin is that easy, and they didn't learn the basics specially how to protect their wallets. Knowledge is already here, you just have to find it out and digest it slowly.

I feel like if you want to learn about crypto and its industry you can find plenty of information's on a lot of websites and the internet has become overflooded wit that info, but in terms of experiences and to see how people are thinking or type of decisions they are making i think the bitcointalk is plenty enough to do so, topics about different news and new updated are always found in the front pages of the different section where you can talk and read other people's thoughts and opinions.
