I always appreciate people accepting Bitcoin for actual jobs, and it's the first time I see chess lessons offered. Good luck with your business!

I really love that idea!
Good luck at the tournament and I wish you to have always willing to learn students!

I always imagined that personal tokens would be used in such projects!
Maybe think about creating your own token and suggest that every student who will pay with it (i.e. will have to buy it in advance - mainly on DEX exchange) will receive, for example, a 10% or even 20% discount. This can be an interesting win-win option  ;) 8)

Former Commonwealth Silver Medalist

I think that it's far from easy to find people who want to pay in order to improve his chess skills (unless one is thinking to become professional player, obviously).
So I think that keeping posts/ads here and there and having tons of patience may have a better chance than the discounts.

I wish you best of luck in finding students!

token

No. Just no. We don't need shitcoins and tokens for each topic, really. We already have more than we need.

Hello :)

I am Eddy, Chess Player and Former Commonwealth Silver Medalist. My rating is 2600+ Lichess Rapid and 2500+ Lichess Blitz ...

I am at around 1400 in lichess Blitz... do you think I could charge 5$ and hour  ;D

Lessons can be really useful, but my very humble opinion, if you really want to be at that level, you will need to dedicate quite a bit of time to study. Even learning the end games (e.g. a mate with knight and bishop, which I am unable to make) takes some practise, not to mention learning apertures which is what will give you a significant edge in the quick gaming styles.

I am not sure if you are joking, but you can make much more as a beginner's coach in schools. However, since you are a beginner yourself - I don't think you can expect students outside school.

You are right, however to be honest - I am offering these discounts since I need some cash for my tournaments haha. Either ways, I think what you are saying is correct for long term.

Long live bitcoin!

Thanks, though - I am just starting out and don't expect this to boom out. Will for sure consider your suggestion once chess lessons attract bitcoin consumers.

Do you have a tutorial for beginner like me that completely no idea on strategy of this game? I know the basic rules and mechanics of this game but I never learn the strategy since I just read it on the book and I play on an app with a bot. I'm happy to purchase a tutorial pdf from you. The attached file on your thread seems advance which might be difficult to comprehend base on the level of my knowledge of this game.

i have almost the same issue ; playing Chess since i was youg (about 30 years) and many say that i am a good player but i didn't take any course or follow any tutorial and know nothing about famous strategies. I used to use my own strategies and it seems to work fine but i can't deny the fact that i didn't ever get the chance to play with advanced players who knows about strategies and tactics.
I was so glad to see this topic [as i am a crypto-only user and can't purchase courses from known sources, they are too expensive as well] and i think 15$ isn't too much for one hour, but how to determine how many hours i need to learn basic tactics so i can set a budget ?
Op , what's your suggestions for my situation? :)

To see major changes, I always recommend my students for the 10 hour package as it kind of transforms you as a player. I usually have one hour lesson per week. However, what you need right now is a coach who can put you in the right track.. I would recommend you to schedule a 15 minute free call or schedule an one hour lesson and we'd at least move past the question - What do I need to do to improve?

I really appreciate when people offer their expertise in payment for BTCs as anything could actually be in sale.

As someone who has been playing chess for more than 10 years, things like these definitely makes me happy especially considering that chess is a niche type of sport. While it may not be physically challenging, losing a game could be as brutal as playing american football mentally. I do hope that people would consider applying and getting a chess coach as this sport is super rewarding especially when you crush your opponents primarily by using your techniques and mind!

Good luck, OP!
