Monitor any coin price right at your home screen
It is still in early development, I hope to receive feedback from you all :D

I am not responsible for downloading an app in order to get a Bitcoin Widget that I can get for free with a few clicks on the browser or even on the TV.
I don't want to be rude but there are a lot of risks for so few benefits which can be easily obtained.

Add more stuff We're not in 2013. Bitcoin Widget isn't a hot thing.

What does a widget do? I've heard of it before but I don't have any idea what are they and what they do, plus it's scary to download stuff of the Internet right now, given that there's Cerberus 2.0 on the loose right now. But continue developing OP if you're dedicated to this project, I support you on that.

Widget is a small UI that you can place on the home screen, like a mini-app. In this case, this widget allows you to track bitcoin price (or any other coin)

Ow, so that's what it is, I don't know if you've heard about this but Coingecko has that feature if I recall although I have seen it from my friends phone so I am not if it's Coingecko that has that feature or it's a different one.

Coingecko has the same feature, mine just has a slightly different UI. I fact I'm using the Coingecko API get get the coin price ;)

Oh, that's cool. Hope you can see some success in developing that project. I don't know much about coding so it's probably a lot of hard work with this one.

With all the apps out there with crypto / bank info stealing malware you really should open source this.
I am not going to put some unknown app on my phone.
Not saying you are doing anything wrong, it's just the way the world is today.

Update 1.6.2

- [NEW] Add 2x1 widget layout (compact graph layout)
- Add warning dialog about battery saver mode
- Refine button text style

Update 1.7.1

- [NEW] Allow you to enter a custom amount on each widget
Now you can track how much you are holding for each coin (in your currency)
The default amount is 1 coin

Here's my feedback after trying it with an android emulator:

  • It would've been better if it had lower refresh rates [e.g. 1 minute, as opposed to the lowest that's 15 minutes] while it "prevents the device from sleeping [one of the app permissions]".
    - Not sure if that's a limitation by Coingecko's API or it'd be one of the features that'd come with the premium version [if there would be any].
  • For its "click action" feature, you might want to consider introducing one tap and two taps actions:
    • One tap = Open setting page
    • Two taps = Refresh widget

Note: I prefer to not vouch for such apps, but it looks promising.

Looks cool man! But yeah, the problems is that you create an app and published it knowing that there is already an app that has the same idea but with more features.

As for the features, I would suggest that you can change not only the size of the grid layout but also the font and the visuals it displays. User can check whether or not to show the graphs, the holdings, the price, and etc. Some people might find graphs unnecessary in their homepage whilst some doesn't really like huge font sizes. Also, it will be cooler if you will publish your github repo. Don't treat this project to be a business, as one business already has such features.

i dont see anything very special about this widget.

First of all, I would like to thank you for creating an app. I saw your app. There are many such apps in the market. I think everyone else would benefit a lot if you could do some more developing in it. There are many such apps in the market that you have created. It will not be so acceptable to the people. If you use some more tools, I think your app will be much more useful to everyone

Great widget. We also have a crypto widget but not for each coin. We have a widget with a list.
From developer to developer I can suggest trying to make a selection currency, a lot of users want another currency (EUR, GBP, ETH etc.).

Thank you for the feedback. You can select the currency on the widget setting page (the screen after you select a coin)!
