Title: What do you guys think about this complete rig setup?
Post by: Refrumatrix on October 01, 2021, 09:29:23 AM
Guys is this setup worth the money? 3000$

3 p106~100 6gb
1 p106 90
2 rx570
2000watts psu
12pci board
negotiable

The seller said it's still negotiable but I feel somehow about the deal, looks over priced already to me, what do you think is the right price for this whole setup?

Very difficult questions these days to answer  :)
What prices for rtx 3060 in your area?
Here i can buy rtx 3060 for 715$ so for 3000$ i can buy 4 rtx 3060 = 88mhs in RVN in other hand you 6 gpus (if eth minanble cards) doing eth = 150mhs roughly i dont know you did not specify rx 570 memories. 150mhs ETH agains to 88mhs RVN, I will prefer buy 4 rtx 3060 for that price because they are new.
But here you are getting psu and board. Not easy to decide my friend.

Forgot to say 3060 are more efficient than old gpus. also important if electricity expensive in your area

If the rx570s are 8gb versions then 30+ MH are guaranteed from the cards, that's 62-64MH and as for the p106-100 they only deliver 24MH per card I believe and the p106-90 a little less, honestly to me this isn't worth it, I'd spend the money on 3060ti, you can get 120MH+ from two rtx3060ti cards and the power draw is way lesser, that's just 240watts @ 120MH, way cooler

Forget the PSU and the 12pci boards, you are only getting 6x GPU only right now remember? If you buy two 3060ti just find any used desktops with 1X pcie slots and start mining away, a 750watts PSU is more than enough

Last month i get a whole rig with 8x RTX2060 Super for 3000€, so 3000$ for this rig is to much in my opinion.

The P106-100 deliver only 21 - 23mh at the moment, depends on your power setting -> decrease every new DAG epoch.
The P106-90 canīt mine ETH - because it has only 3GB.

it is not worth 3k

lets say eth delays pos and you get to mine for at least a year.

150 mh earns about 10 dollars pre power or about 3650 usd.

but that rig burns a lot of power.

I would say it burns at least 700 watts that is about 17 kwatts a day.

if your power cost is 10 cents 1.70 a day more likely your power is 2-3 a day or 700-1000 a year

so if you are lucky 3650-700 = 2950 after a year

maybe 3650-1000= 2650 after a year.

that is a likely range you will be in. after a year. down 50 to 400 bucks with the rig in hand.

if all parts were new and had 1 to 3 year warranty it is decent. but it is a used rig. not so good.

Dont buy old gpus, for amd minimum gpus is rx5000/vega, nvidia rtx3000, thr price might be expensive but worth for long run, newer algo favorite to ne architecture

Man, they want to sell you some very old shit for a very high price.
These video cards are 5 years old. For this price, you can find many new options.
I advise you not to buy ready-made manning farms, but to do them yourself or hire specialists for this. This way you will save money.

The seller wants to get rid of these junks and go for better GPU variants, I suggest you should do the same, find AMD 6600XT or 3060ti non LHR, with 3k you can get two non LHR 3060ti and even the AMD seem like a better option too don't buy used outdated GPUs

I got it for 649 with multiple coupons  it will do about 43-45 mh and pull about 130 watts

even if you pay full price 3 are doing  129-135 mh  and pull about 450 watts for the whole rig.

3 at full price are about 2800 and the mobo/psu is around 300 so you are at the same 3000 maybe 3100

all new gear. with warranty

new psu below is 180

3000$ is too much for this setup, should be under 2500$ and the only thing that attracts me here is the 2000watt PSU and 12pci mobo all others aren't on my watch because those cards are old and less effective in mining, if you want to go for rx570s and 580s make sure they are way cheaper, the p106-100 are just bad cards to be honest, do not buy

You can explain why this motherboard has 8 6-pin connectors on the top and 8 6-pin connectors on the right (if you look at the picture).

....

I found the answer to my question. But I still do not understand why this should be done. If the video cards have 2 power connectors, then you will have to connect the remaining connectors from the power supply.
I always thought that the smaller the connections and adapters, the safer and easier the mining farm is to maintain.
