Hello everyone. Since that day, I've been conducting similar experiments with altcoins as well. didn't share it before.

Now I'll update my altcoin holdings as well. How much should I invest and in which project should I invest? I did my own research and thought every week I would invest $50 in two projects. Keep in mind that this is a long-term investment.I am not going to do any future or margin which has short term money loss risk. I have time now. I am 20 years old and I think I can invest my money for at least 10 years. And if I do this, I may get enough profit. And here is my weekly investment.

Currently I am dropping this plan  for some of my others plan. But honesty speaking I am in a little good profit but I am not gonna sell my any alt what I bought in this plan. I am holding this money until 2025. If I can it maybe more longer. :'( :'(

This is not a financial advice and certainly I have to do my own research. I have made mistakes when it comes to cryptocurrency investment in the time past where I invested based on hype and recommendations. Now even if the coins/tokens look too legit to invest in I will still have to do some research so I can decide when to exit and how much profit I have in mind. The thing about crypto investment I have come to understand in my few years of being in this space is that there is a large amount of patience required for anyone to actually earn good profit, if you only looking for short-term gains it may not have a good outcome,

Assuming someone invest $50 on bnb back in 2017, invest same amount on btc, eth, waves, just within the span of 4-5years the person could have made good profit without doing anything, just hold and be patient, in the end what is most important is the ability to exercise patience through bull and bear market to enjoy the reward.

Interesting thread. 50$ per week is a reasonable amount and if you pick the right projects to invest in, then you can make some money out of that, but of course you can also lose your money, but i guess you are well aware of that. Also your first picks for your investment are pretty interesting. I have never heard of dydx before to be honest but i did some reading now after seeing your thread and that project sounds quite interesting, so that could be a really good pick for an altcoin investment. I am not so sure though about your investments into tron. It's been around for a long time now and i don't see a reason why the tron should suddenly surge in the foreseeable future.

You're not wrong, being patient and not panicking is very important in the network, I have seen people selling their stash out of fear only due to a correction period, which is pretty bad to say the least. But what users should know is that being patient sometimes depends on the coins in your possession, there are projects/coins that are actually short term projects that can only pump temporarily, and when they dump, it's over for the coin, the best thing to do with such coins is to sell when you have the opportunity to take ROI, if you decide to be patient and hold on to it for too long, you could be left with only losses. But if it's a great coin like Bitcoin, Ethereum you're hodling, then it's makes so much sense to patiently hold, because they are long term projects.
That's exactly the right thing to do for a crypto investor, many people have lost their funds just cause they invested when someone told them to, or they just sightlessly followed the trades and instructions of others, every investor or trader should always meticulously do their own research and come up with their own conclusions on the coins they want to channel some of their money into.

Methods that works for OP is good and you also have your method that might work for you. I wish you the greatest of this journey OP.

This small investment either be increased by more than 5x soon or you learn a lesson with this journey. Well, both are still great in terms of learning new things about investing.

Glad to see your experiment thread but it seems like that you must try to add the reasons about what happened with your dydx, if you have sold it and then you must also mention it in your thread or at least give a small note. Im a big confusing to see that there's no dydx after week 2 and what happened with it? Have you taken profit from your dydx and exchange it for UNI?

everyone's method may be different and I think the best is the one that is suitable for each person. because in essence, of course, all of them will seek profit according to their respective views about the market. the most important thing is that we still want to continue to learn, and analyze ourselves

You don't do a method that don't work for you the 2nd and 3rd time. You can test every method if it works for you and if not, you have to give it up and forget about it.

I know you are happy when you got profit but fast comes fast goes. Especially with altcoins. They will give you a dream of x5, x10 and some of them help to get profit. Dream becomes true but there is another truth about altcoins.

They will lose their values very quickly when the market is no longer bullish.

Yeah, Everyone has their own way of investing. Of course what you are doing correct (in your opinion), Even though other people have a different view, will not change your decision to continue to invest weekly. If you want to make a long term investment, you should choose a project that has been proven safe and has a strong community, because basically the cryptocurrency market is very difficult to guess, anything can happen in a matter of hour.

Yes, it is possible to make a good income by investing now, but many people start investing without gaining knowledge about investing, then when they lose, they don't invest anymore, they invest in a way that only causes loss. There are rules to investing even after acquiring a lot of knowledge and making small investments gradually you have to go for big investments. And if one goes for big investments without acquiring knowledge about investing, then he will lose a lot.

Its a good idea mate, wherein just invest every week if to make good profits rather than to put all in, actually you're not the one who use to do that way in order to accumulate profits, because there are some user here as well that putting $50 every week on his portfolio and the results is really amazing. For sure if you keep doing the same way as well, you can get a massive return after how many years. So keep it up mate..  ;)

If you are really going to be holding these coins you have now for 10 years like you have said, then you’re really going to be cashing out huge on them. In 10 years time most of those coins you have invested in which includes UNI, Tron, etc. They’re all going to see a huge increase in a time frame as long like that.It is now up to you on whether you’re going to be able to maintain this your investment till that time.

If you are able to do that you’re going to be happy that you did. Investment is not all about investing everything at once, just like some people would prefer to wait till they have gotten enough money to invest at once which they never do, most times it’s best that you spread it like this and keep doing it until it has increased.

I believe, that investment should start from small amount and observe how it goes. From there, if there is good progress with your investment, perhaps you may able to add more investment and monitor it's progress from time to time. Later, you will be surprise of a better reward in the end.

You can do long term investment because you are young with no big obligation, you have the time and the means to set up your goal and it's a good idea that you choose to be a long term investor everything start with a small investment until you are good in finding the right coin to invest, just take your time in learning the ropes and within two years you will reap what you sow today.

Interesting strategy, worth trying to invest every Week $50 in different altcoins. and hope the next 10 years will be something bigger than you think. as long as you stay consistent, I'm sure you can become a whale in the future.

Luckily, at a young age you have started to invest, you have to be disciplined with your investment targets, 10 years is enough time to see your investment give a good return especially if you choose the right altcoin it will definitely be very profitable for you.

$200 per month as a fixed budget is good as a start to buy bitcoin and some coins and use $50 per week for his investment.
Not many of us can do that because we usually just buy at a low price and only wait for some time and if the price increase, we will sell it.
If he can constantly do the same every month, he will see his investment will grow.

Great journey starter anyways keep persistence on any market condition, because i was also like you side aside of my salary everymonth back then but when the market crash i feel like losing hopes and decided to cutloss, and ended regrets at the very end when the price going ups again. Now i just started the investment habit again because i know it's for a long term investment just don't look at the price today but look at it 5 years later

You do good planning at a fairly young age. An important point in planning what you do in the next 10 years is choosing the right assets.
The long-term investment that you make will hopefully be a win for you. So far you have started investing in a good project. You must be consistent in choosing projects that are feasible for the long term. as long as you do well, I am sure you will remain safe with your investment.

A very smart investment worth learning, man. Investing in cryptocurrencies, when starting out does not necessarily require a large budget. We can accumulate over time and if we maintain it for many years it will become huge. This idea is really suitable for those who want to get into crypto with little capital and minimal risk, and we can diversify our portfolio this way.

An investment spanning 10 years is highly commendable, the OP has clearly done a research and picked those coins, hopefully those has  future potentials, I believed in the long run two or more of those coins would yield massive profits in 10X,20X, or 100X  thus recouping whichever losses that was incurred from other unyielded investment, I think it is well thought idea but it comes with a thorough research while being patience and well disciplined to continue to hodl for 10 years is not an easy feat.

If I may add, I also remember CZ's message about a good investment selection method https://prnt.sc/1vfmok7 at least this provides advice, an overview from a fundamental point of view with long-term investment methods. it means that it is not wrong to try the advice of people who are already successful and at least you have tried to apply at least to yourself.

influencers can also have an influence on the development of certain coins, they can indirectly move the market simultaneously, so this can affect market movements. especially for meme coins, maybe Alan's hype system often happens like this, and finally we have to be careful with this reaction

Small investment part is a lot better than the bigger investment part because more people can relate to this. Obviously the smallest amount could be increased, starting with $100 and then not adding more to it could be even better since I am sure everyone could work hard and earn $100, hell you can do signature campaigns and bounties to get there these days, it takes like 2 weeks to earn that much in just bitcointalk, let alone if you work for some other places as well.

At the end of the day, I believe we are in a situation where not many people have 40k to show for, but they do have 100 bucks and this topic will be very beneficial to those people to see what they can do, not what they should, but what they can.

Nice way with your investment coin although with small fund you use, but better to trade with short term where you can build profit every time without hold for several week later. I think is worth if you hold for long term but small fund for investing is not really enough and faster to get much profit, better use short term way for trading and then use your profit for long term investment depend which one coin do you want.

I have great admiration for you, for taking this seriously and I hope you are committed to this goal whatever the trend, you put your money into a great project. I tried to do this before, I kept all my earnings from signature campaign and it took 6 months before I took profit, I can say I succeeded too.

If you think your doing the right thing, go and continue what you had started. But honestly, I am not
quite familiar with DYDX, and according to what I read hear to your topic there was already a problem
with it. But at least, you got out your capital over this coin, right?

your strategy sounded good to me, but of course you need to take into account that altcoins can hardly reach 5 years with the same performance, competition is increasing and this makes the market have to share investors, do not invest in any altcoin for more than 3 years. Is just advice

As long as i know, dydx (https://trade.dydx.exchange/portfolio/overview) token came from an exchanger airdrop, they give the tokens for their users. It has a good price, But i can't say it has a good potential for a long-term investment.

I am very happy with my altcoin investment. I purchased some shitcoin when it very low in price but now it has been increasing in price. When I wanted to buy the coin I told my friend to help me do research about the best altcoin that I can invest in, so he gave the name of the altcoin, I bought 20usd worth of the coin. When I bought it, their was no too much of hype on the coin, for few Days my 20usd worth the coin have turn 12usd, i was thinking to sell but my friend said I should hold for good five months to it market reaction so I decided to hold, after a month it started pumping. It has nine zero (0) when I bought but it has clean two zero now.i have make really profit for it.

This would make more sense if you start in bear market, 50$ worth TRX won't be 520 pieces anymore you might be getting 1000 TRX for just 50$, it's why I advice people to build portfolio for long term hold in bear market only, buying now is buying high, remember 70% to 90% loss always comes in bear market, that's a winning chance to buy

Where did you get your crystal ball that forecast future? Take a look on October 2020 - the beginning of a growth. Those who has bought, made x6 in half a year. No one was sure that the market was bull that days.

I strongly believe that it is never late to buy. There will be always who has bought cheaper, and there will be always who will buy for a higher price. You just dont need to buy junk, dont rush and be selective.

You say that it was better to buy Tron during bear, because he would have got more. But this is same as saying he should have bought Tron in 2018, when the price was 1 cent, and he would have got even more.

I must congratulate you that you are on right track at the right age we were late when we know about the cryptos still I also earn good money by investing in cryptos and the majority of the profit earned by holding it for 1-2 years. The bear market is the best time to build your portfolio where the price of coins with potential are affordable and cheap I remember Bitcoin crash to $5k at the start of the pandemic imagine if you bought at that level you'll make ten times profit if you still holding, the bear market is the time when you wish you have more funds to buy, I have funds but unfortunately, we are in a bull market.

Good strategy for altcoin buying, and you said that you apply this strategy for long time investment. Have many strategy to buying altcoin for longtime investment, i use different strategy for longtime investment. My strategy is every month i buy some altcoin when Their price is down, then i buy and hold my altcoin.

As investors we must be able to detail to know the performance of the coins we buy, investing with small values is a good start to learn and make big decisions one day, for now the tools that I think are good and always updated are the portfolios on coinmarketcap, because history always appears and easy to use.

$50 investments on weekly basis is not sounding to me a small approach. By doing is with altcoins, I am afraid that as you are doing these with altcoins, you are basically having additional layer of risks compared to if you do the same with bitcoins. I have seen 100s of altcoins were famous by the times of 2014/2015 but only less than 1% of such coins managed to survive till 2021.

I mean most altcoins may fade away over the time hence being too selective while investing wit altcoins may help. Moreover I like to suggest to book profits whenever possible and may focus only on bitcoin as with bitcoin investments on long run you have 200% chances to get assured profits but altcoins got only 50% chances.

You may gain profits only on USD value and if you consider in BTC then definitely you will face losses with most of altcoins in long run.

It's a good thing that you earned a good profit out of your small investment and it's proven that it's important for us to do our research first before buying any coin. A proper mindset will also be a big help no matter how big or small your investment is. Things will also depend on the capability of your chosen coins.

it is always good to invest with a very small amount of money which can be termed as spare money just in case there is a plummet in price as not everyone can tell for sure if it is the rise or fall of the coin.When you invest little money, you can stand to exercise some degree of patience when the price depreciates and still live your financial life void of interfering with your investment.

Using a small capital will definitely avoid big losses. but make no mistake, even though we use small capital when investing can produce big profits if we choose the right coins when we first invest. If luck is on our side
