The list is quite long, complementing the existing threads such as [GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4928968.0) - LoyceV (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=459836).

Slight correction, the author of the [Guide]: How and Where to Report Phishing Websites (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226129.0) thread is not me, but it's TravelMug (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=954316).
Maybe you forgot to change it when you copied the table from the previous list ([Education] Bitcoin Privacy and Anonymity).

Once again I want to focus on the meaning of this topic. It does not aim to provide newbies with the information they need at the very beginning of their journey. The purpose of this encyclopedia is to save one and all time in finding good topics in this section. This is a kind of archive.
[GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4928968.msg44399473#msg44399473)

Can you include that topic in the OP? Two topics can support to each other.

Do you only choose good topics in Beginners & Help for your list?

First I felt happy when I saw  my topic in this thread even though I am 5 months old here in forum and besides for my mistake I've made  here. there's some of my topic will contribute the Forum. This Thread will be the guidance for some Newbies who've been looking for information here in Forum.

Wow this is great work Ratimov I don't know how much time you invested just to make this thread available for viewing and useful for everyone on this forum especially for those who are quite active on this board. If possible I would definitely advise admin to pin this thread at the top so it doesn't sink with dozens of other thread every week. I hope the number of new thread with the same discussion as the thread on your list won't get more user generated unless they discover something new about it. This will reduce the number of thread by repeating the same discussion. Hopefully, this will be very useful for me too.

Post by: ShowOff on October 07, 2021, 04:27:19 PM
Thank you, the structuring and selection took a lot of time, because everything was done in manual mode, there was no automation. As for repeating topics of the same type, I can tell you that it was one of the most time-consuming steps in creating this topic. I found some kind of topic, so I found another one, where everything is about the same, but more complete and detailed, then I removed the previous topic from the list. Perhaps I missed something and some duplicates still leaked into the final version of the table.

But in the future I will gradually refine it all. Now I will finish the topics of 2018, and then, most likely, I will start structuring the topics by topic. For example, a list of trading topics, a list of security topics, a list of privacy topics, a list of investment topics. You may be wondering why not do it right away.? In principle, it was possible, only it would take some more time, and it would be necessary to delay the publication. And so the start has been given and I will gradually refine this theme and create an alternative catalog by category. How do you like this idea?
Ratimov, you really don't have to thank me just because I like your idea. It seem unreasonable to me not to appreciate your idea for the true purpose of this thread as I assume that people will think twice as much before they create a new thread if they actually read and found a thread with the same discussion in your list at this thread. I hope the end goal of this thread is that there won't be many other thread with the same discussion in a given time frame created by newbies and other users and that it will reduce the number of repetition of discussion each time a new thread is created. Splitting thread categories in a list would take longer, of course I have to support you even though you won't be doing it right away. You have to do it gradually. Again, you should get high appreciation from me for the time you invested in creating this thread. Thank you Ratimov.

Thanks Ratimov this is very useful thread, i also thought numerous times, how to save at least some of best threads, that they not vanish in the abyss of countless spam published all the time on forum. Of course, I am also happy to see few of my threads on your lists. Keep updating it, this is really the best way to have all the best posts in one place.

Awesome guide compilation.

But like all consolidating threads, this one is also going to be pushed down off the front page. So I want to repurpose some of these threads as articles on my site.

This will be OK as long as I credit the respective member as the author, right?

...like all consolidating threads, this one is also going to be pushed down off the front page...

main thing, we need only to share this one link now if newbies will ask questions and you need to point them to the right threads, no need to save or remember all of them, this is really great source of info.

PS
and if there are so many consolidating threads, maybe will be wise to do an consolidating thread for them too?  ;)

As others have said, great lists and compilation, it will save newbies a lot of time trying to go and search this board. At least you have lay down the most important subjects out there as it might overwhelm newbies trying their way inside the forum. And I'm happy that some of the threads are including in your B&H Encyclopedia.

Really this is memorial's or refreshments of different topics that educate us in all ramifications and with the help of Ratimov those forgotten topics that has been treated some months back and some years back has been recalled and people who wasn't in the community when some of topics were new will go through them step by step, so i congratulate @Ratimov immensely for bringing this topics to light, and more especially to new user, they can as well learn from this, if they are ready to learn.

Hey, thanks for this big list @Ratimov.

I saw some of my threads getting into your list and I agree that this is a must read for newbies and experience alike.

And hopefully this will not be buried, perhaps you can bump this thread once in a while so that it will be on the top of the page.

This is absolutely amazing. I gave it 1 merit but when I went down and discovered much tedious work, I gave another. I assure you that this thread deserves much more. This is a collection and compilation that will throw every newbie fast to the timeline. Not just that, but to every member of the forum.
Very salient information are being buried by the most current or relevant, but our new BH encyclopedia is here with every topic.
I was glad to see my topic in the thread.
@Ratimov, I applaud your perseverance in accomplishing this task. It is not easy.
Thanks sir!

This is just so amazing like wow. To make something like this takes a lot of time, a lot of hardwork, patience and effort. These big lists could take hours to complete. I really appreciate the fact that you gather all of these lists to help others.

These detailed information that you shared could help a lot of beginners and newbies. This thread certainly has good topics that are useful and because of that it'll be easy for them to find the answers to all of their questions.

That is quite a lot of effort from you @Ratimov and it must have took you lot of time to gather all those sources and then compile them up here in tabular format for the visibility of members with all the url attached to them.I found it very helpful and many other members will also find it the same because of all the necessary information is bind up here for the reference like an original encyclopedia and you could check the resource you want to have an information about. The other nice part is you keep on adding them as you come across them.Very nice and helpful guide for us so again thanks for sharing it.

This thread should be used to give it to newbies who want to learn anything that are related to cryptocurrency. I think I may have know why you created this thread. It is because of newbies asking where to link and many contributors or even other forum members who will send different threads but this one doesn't include what should be learned first but for further knowledge. I will make sure to share this thread when someone is in need of knowledge or information especially security measures.

Post by: nakamura12 on November 14, 2021, 04:39:10 PM
That's just one of the reason why this topic is created. When I read many topic titles, I have noticed that most of the topics are what you just explained and most of it are buried by other topics in this board but because of this thread, all of those buried topics are dug out by you for everyone to be reminded and easy to access those topics.

Did you miss the greatest thread on Lightning Network by BitCryptex aka Rath_? I'm referring to the Lightning Network FAQ thread- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5158920.0
I was looking for threads on Lightning Network but couldn’t find this one.
Nevertheless, it's highly appreciable that you are trying to organize all these threads. It can be useful for newbies.

and this encyclopedia is still based on all the useful topics that are open in the Beginners & Help section
That makes sense. I haven’t noticed that TBH. Thank you for the heads up. If you include other board as well for being listed in your encyclopedia, I guess that would be good. Though article on LN in Help & Beginner is quite good, the one by Rath_ is the best one with no doubt.

Now this is even more better than before. A list of threads like guides, securities and many more but the better part is where we can click, tap on which category we can check. This feels like, I need to know how to increase my account security then i'll just click the security measures category boom redirected. Easy as that.

Thanks, yes, even though it was a very laborious part of this encyclopedia, but this navigation option seemed to me the best solution of all that came to my mind during the development of this topic.  :)
Any news about the likeness of this thread to be pinned?. When that happen, I wonder if there still some people who will still ask hpw to start, what to do and whatever they like to ask as a beginner in this community. I'm sure it takes a lot of time to complete this encyclopedia. Within 4 years that's what you skimmed and its no joke.

A suggestion:
In the list by category, the topic, besides mentioning the name of the user who created it, could also have the date of the topic.
It is true that there is a listing by date, but the idea here is for the person to know the date of a topic in the listing by category.

Otherwise, continuation of the excellent work!  ;)

Created a new poll: Would you like to see this topic among the pinned ones?
I voted yes and I think it really should be. I am not sure if there is a limit to the number of pinned threads in a sub because Beginners & Help do have a lot.
One of them is Verifying Bitcoin Core (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1588906.0) by theymos. Good and informative thread and nothing wrong with it, but I think it's more suited for the Wallet software child board of Development & Technical Discussion. Your average newbie doesn't use Bitcoin Core or runs a full node. The percentage of those who verify the software is even lower.

WEEKLY BUMP

Created a new poll: Would you like to see this topic among the pinned ones?

I think if this topic becomes popular, the moderators will pay attention to it and make it pinned at the top of the section for maximum convenience.

After I finished working on the catalog, I started to select the best topics from other sections of the forum, and a list of the best topics in the Beginners & Help section for November will also be released soon.

Thanks to all those who support this encyclopedia.

As a beginner, I voted positively, because it would be much easier to get access to all this usefull information, you created. I would like to thank you for that, it made my first steps on this forum much clearer. At first, forum scarred me a little bit, I saw a lot of different threads and discussions, but I didn`t understand, which are good and high quality, and which were created just for some posting. Now I have your guidance, on which I can rely, so I now have a sample of what is considered appropriate and worthwhile in the forum, what to look for and from whom to learn.

And even if I add the date, then I probably would not add it in the day-month-year format, but probably limited myself to only the year.

Yes, I think the year is enough.
I think it helps people to orient themselves in time, realizing how long this content has existed. And it can even help you update to new content.

This One Big Thread.
Certainly the thread that increased to a large extent my admiration of Ratimov. The thread ought to have been pinned, I remember Ratimov created a poll for it and I voted. Didn't the pull scale through or the admin doesn't deem it fit.

Alot of energy and time was invested in this thread. I can also remember how Ratimov was given 5 merits to people whose posts were selected for inclusion monthly in the encyclopedia. I benefited then...
This ought to be a thread every genuine newbie should dwell for atleast a month before joining the entire forum.

This One Big Thread.

This topic can be called a bible for beginners, after which one could take exams and award high ranks.
Since moderators don't want to pin this topic, we can bring it up regularly for newbies and beyond.
Some things need to be repeated over time, and over time, we also look a little differently than we did before.

Well done @Ratimov for this wonderful upto date additions on the begginers and help encyclopedia thread you created, three things excite me on seing this latest development, first is that you never relent from giving out your best as well as considering the thread ever useful by not neglecting it without an update, secondly is the increase in knowledge and wider scope of what beginners can learn from this thread and lastly, i count it a privilege that my thread(s) finds it way to be among the selected topics useful for recommendations for the beginners, honestly i never expect this coming, but i must sincerely appreciate you for doing what you know how to do best.

Wow, this is really impressive! my first time seeing this thread. Mr. Ratimov, I notice the updates every month aren't regular, maybe because of reasons only you know. If the updates were consistent, this thread might stay at the top, especially since it's not pinned yet. For newcomers like me, if I could find this encyclopedia, I wouldn't need to make new threads to ask questions because I could read them here.

And thanks for the mentioned as well @Ratimov, as I continue to share topics that can really help not just beginners here, but as some seasoned members as there are a lot of things that we can learn like everyday. The learning curve should be a continuous path for all of us.

I wonder how this useful thread managed to hide itself from me, I might not know it existed if my username was not quoted today. This is in spite of trying to stay connected much more to the forum, which is a reason why it deserves a pin up there if possible.

I've gone through a few pieces of the works being mentioned here, they are nice, and this style and initiative are good and it's like having an archive of useful pieces which one could easily navigate for useful resources and save themselves time from reading much of cabbages.
