Title: Help me multibit classic wallet
Post by: Mountainview01 on October 15, 2021, 08:15:45 AM
Please everyone, your help is needed. I lost a USB stick containing my multibit classic and I have my life-changing Btc on it. I have a copy of the USB with a backup folder like, rolling backup, wallet backup, key-backup and wallet-unenc-backup folder in my other USB with the wallet address. I'm not a tech guru when it's come to this. Any advise on how to recover my funds would be highly appreciated.

I suppose you still have access to your password as well (assuming that the wallet was encrypted)? If so, you can try the following[1]. Once you export the private keys, you could sweep them into Electrum[2] and then use them.

Yes, buddy, I have the password saved but the problem is I couldn't figure out how to get the private key from my backup folders so I can export it to electrum. I have my funds stuck in the wallet and no way to access them.

Do you have the password backed up with which you were accessing your Multibit wallet? Because the files you have are likely encrypted which means they are useless without a key. If you have a password then you can try to recover your wallet, here is a guide on how to do that: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5304446.0

Ok, let me try that and I’ll update the outcome on this platform.
