This title seems to be used about shilling and nothing more but I would like to hijack that for a second and talk about something. This place could have been something amazing, we are talking about one of the greatest sports in the world, earning a billion dollars a year among themselves and viewed by tens of millions of people all around the world and somehow they managed to get absolutely no interest during the best NFT play to earn periods of our lifetime.

Yes, I am talking about the F1 game and how they got the license, and there were like at one point 160 people playing, just 160! When you want to get involved here, just consider that this is the brand that managed to get 160 people into F1 play to earn game. Even I could have done better and I am not that great at all.

Yes, Animoca is the smartest crypto gaming company in solving the problem of play-to-earn dilemmas for users. However, there are many market restrictions for the company's growth, and most of them have to do with future profitability, I think might be that the people behind Animoca Brands have good plans for the future.

Interesting point by @justdimin , I share a similar view on the topic, basically what this tells us is that the blockchain gaming ecosystem is not yet easily embraced by the everyday person who is not into crypto.  Conventional marketing strategies do not work for blockchain gaming and can sometimes even have a negative effect (e.g. facebook ads ) on the project.

The everyday crypto guy =/= everyday consumer so the approach to exposure is by KOLs, streams, AMAs and genuine overall content. What F1 failed to do was to figure out a decent approach to convert traditional fans into the crypto ecosystem. Most projects seem to miss that and even good gameplay is not enough when the person has to commit to creating a wallet before he can play.

Overall, I do believe that play-to-earn mechanics, decentralized economy models and asset ownership have a place in blockchain gaming. This has yet to be introduced to the traditional gamers and lead to adoption.

Animoca Brand Invest in some big projects like Sandbox, Flow, Axie Infinity and many more. Sometimes I also solidify my investment in a project, when on that project there are big supporters such as the Animoca brand and others. But that doesn't guarantee a profit, because not all Animoca brand portfolios do well, there are also some projects whose token value is dropping on the market.

This company is a giant in the industry they are in but they are also not using the money wisely. I mean if you and I were given 2 billion dollars, and I mean I have no idea who anyone here is, we would use it a lot better, I guarantee it.

So, imagine how terrible they must be spending their money that I guarantee some stranger to be better? Sure, they may end up losing that money and you may too, but that's the same result. I know, with 2 billion dollars, I would be able to build something that would be beyond anyone's understanding of how that was. Think about it this way, games like god of war or red dead redemption costs about quarter of it, so you could build 4 games at that quality, and these are high end games, nothing even comes close to them.

Animoca Brands certainly seems to have mastered the art of fundraising. I question how much value they are delivering for all their fundraising. Seems like that’s what their business is, raising funds. I’ll be glad when I start hearing how much money they’re giving back to their investors instead of how much money they’re raising and burning. Seems like they could use some perspective.

Animoca Brands update on financial position as of 31 March 2024

Key unaudited financial positions (non-IFRS measures) as of 31 March 2024
- The Company remains financially strong with a cash and stablecoin balance of US$291 million.
- Digital assets held on the balance sheet of US$558 million (1). Through multiple recent investments and token launch activities, the Company has added US$266 million of digital assets since December 2023.
- Off-balance sheet token reserves for all Animoca Brands Web3 subsidiaries of approximately US$1.8 billion, which comprise approximately US$1.3 billion in liquid (2) tokens and US$542 million in lower-liquidity (3) tokens.
- This update excludes the value of the Company’s approximately 400 minority investments in Web3 companies, for which valuation work is ongoing.

The Company is working diligently to provide additional financial updates. Audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2021 are in progress, and the Company plans to provide key unaudited financial and business highlights for the full fiscal year 2023 in Q2 2024, subject to any disclosure limitations of the Australian Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
