Title: Who owns bitcoin foundation?
Post by: RapTarX on October 24, 2021, 06:40:45 PM
I just have seen the website bitcoinfoundation.org; who owns the website? I can't find a lot of information on the website. Besides, I can't find the purpose of the website as well since there's not much information on the website other than 3 pages-
About Us (Have no information)
News (Return to the homepage again)
Become a member (I doubt the button works)
Can someone put some light on this? I can see they have activities in their twitter handle though but the website seems a dead one.

Some old links:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1013053.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294478.0

I do not see anything hare about them in recent years with a quick search.
Nobody anywhere seems to be talking about the foundation.
Some of the old members of the foundation are active on github & other places but not here.

Have you tried using the wayback machine? (https://web.archive.org/)

Found some timelines as well: (as usual take it with a grain of salt if no reliable source is cited)

I tried subscribing twice but nothing happened  :-\

I don't think anyone recognises it as a legitimate entity now.  They undermined their own credibility with scandals and corruption.  It seemed as though their idea of "advocacy" mainly involved lots of business class flights to exotic destinations and staying in fancy hotels.  Typical gravy-train type deal.
