Title: Cryptoart - what are the error prints?
Post by: Cakeonit on October 26, 2021, 10:22:21 PM
I saw another few threads where some collectors mentioned "error prints" in their collections.  Can anyone elaborate what the errors are and how to identify them?  For example : "Cryptoart - 'The Tinkerer' (error print)".   Thanks!

they are error prints because they show different details on the pictures than on the original published edition and additionally there are only a small number of the error prints
to my knowledge there are only 2 error prints, once the tinkerer and once the halving (of which i unfortunately have no picture), but i also have this one on my wtb list (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5299601.0)

the difference between the error print and the original, you can see e.g. in my ccc-thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5275792.0) ;)

It took me a minute to spot the difference..."One of these things is not like the other" from Sesame Street lol...I think I like the curtains in the the error print better but what do I know.  Thanks for the info!

Cheers

LOL. I was the one who sold OP the tinkerer error print - I had them side by side on the wall for a bit and it took me a long time to find all the differences without cheating! :P

Very cool piece, I will probably regret that someday, but I know @cygan is a solid collector with hands of steel, so that's great.... ;)
