Title: Bitcoin the king
Post by: proTECH77 on October 27, 2021, 04:20:09 PM
Today I took my time to go round the market, there are more than 9000 cryptos in the market, but bitcoin is still the king. Now that many other cryptocurrencies are seriously pumping can they take over from bitcoin? If they take over from bitcoin can they last in that position like bitcoin?
What is your opinion.

Definitely not. No matter how large the market capitalization of the altcoin might be it's volume and investors can't be close to that of Bitcoin and even if it does it might not stand the taste of time. Bitcoin has withstood different treats from world powers, economic factors, anti-crypto investors and many other factors but still stoodup tall not all projects can stand this shakings.

If I may ask what coin could likely compete with Bitcoin? Because the gap between Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency is large.

Valid question. However, we have seen that in the previous bull runs that the same outrageous alts pumping was taking place while Bitcoin was growing steadily. From this alone, I conclude that we are not far in history since Bitcoin was invented to (in my opinion) enable an altcoin to take over.

The reason being that many people when talking about crypto mainly refer to Bitcoin, so that basic understanding of other alts to the larger population does not exist yet, and we know that for something to become mainstream it must first become known, then popular.

In my view, no other alts have come close to gaining the popularity that Bitcoin has and so many people place Bitcoin as the main crypto to store their assets. Also, you rarely see retailers talking about investing in alts (with the exception of ETH).

Overall, to me doesn't seem like we are going to have Bitcoin from the top replaced anytime soon.

Out of 9000 cryptos, around 90% are just shitcoins. Only 5 to 10% of cryptos are worthy of consideration. For me BTC and the top 20 altcoins located on CMC are the total crypto market, I don't research on remaining coins. Only Eth has the potential to come near BTC in near future other than that I don't see any alt going near BTC since they have small-cap and volume.
These are just my personal opinions.

Lol, how you actually thinking about that those shitcoins will overtake bitcoin? Did not you see that some Defi coins which are are lowered supply for example some thousands and trying to overtake bitcoin price. But they could not despite the very lower supply. So I don't think a coin could overtake bitcoin and will keep the price holding. That means Bitcoin keep the position as KING always.

There are more than 9,000 crypto currencies and around 99% of them are just shitcoins or coins that are just clone of another coin. Most of them offer nothing new and are made to just pump and dump the coins. They don't usually last long. Bitcoin currently is on the top and very highly likely it will reman on the top. I doubt any altcoins will be able to take over bitcoins position. But we have been hearing how ethereum might take over bitcoins position based on market capitalization. It might happen... you never know.

If not for anything, there is a trust that investors have with bitcoin. One of such trust is the fact that, bitcoin is the first crypto currency to have come and stay succeed. The second of those is that, it not only succeed but have stand the test of time. These attributes that follows it has won bitcoin a lot of patronage that any other coin can hope to win.
It has been associated with the growth of several other cryptos and one can't talk cryptos without referring to bitcoin so, how then will it ever come second in any statistics for which, its to be compared.

Another notable thing about bitcoin is the fact that, it comes without a face. No body knows the face of its creator and as such, its faceless and assumes all our faces. Unlike other coins that, you can easily put out its programmer, its a minus on those coins and reason why bitcoin would stay at the top spot.

It seems that nothing can replace Bitcoin, although some altcoins have better performance but until now they still can't catch up with Bitcoin. Bitcoin has been known to many people, while other coins are not widely known to many people. In addition, if you look at the price of other coins, it follows the development of the Bitcoin price. When Bitcoin goes down, other coins usually will also go down, and vice versa. Therefore Bitcoin deserves to be said as the king of cryptocurrencies.

Repetitive question about bitcoin being taken over. Let's all just have it on our minds that bitcoin is there to stay and cannot be overtaken by any altcoin.
That's the reality that we should extract and accept because it will never happen to say at least. That's why don't be an overthinker about this because we already knew the answer.

We all know that bitcoin is number one in the world of cryptocurrency it is normal for prices to fluctuate in cryptocurrencies we hope that cryptocurrency will operate worldwide and bitcoin is the king of all coins with this the price of all coins will increase. Looking at the past day it can be seen that the price of all coins has gone up. Less for a moment so it is safe to say that the future of all coins including bitcoin is very bright.

No, it won't on the possible short term scenario. They may be pumping right now but that doesn't have that much liquidity compare to what Bitcoin is when it pumps. I don't think the possibility of overtaking Bitcoin right now by these alts even by Ethereum. Do there's possibility of it but I don't think it will not happen even on the decades to come and if Bitcoin will be overtaken, guess that another one may overtake that coin as well, change is constant.

In the past there had been alts that surpassed Bitcoin in unit price, though not in market cap. But that isn't where all that ends. There's something that goes beyond utility or use-case of cryptos, for me that's trust. A lot of people have got that trust for Bitcoin. They can confidently put their money in it and peacefully go to sleep compared to others. By the way, there's a reason that makes Bitcoin stand alone while others are referred to as altcoins. Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that isn't referred to as altcoin. If any altcoin surpasses Bitcoin price, that won't be anything special and I don't think it will affect Bitcoin's relevance. The only thing I know that can destroy Bitcoin is if the 21 million scarce supply is changed to something more.

I think bitcoin is irreplaceable, where until now bitcoin still has confidence as the best investment from various points of view in cryptocurrency. although many other altcoins are growing rapidly, but when bitcoin is down for a long period of time for example, then I think altcoins are also mostly down. this is seen from 2018

Bitcoin will always be the king, it is not being called the father of cryptocurrency without nothing. Well, bitcoin is irreplaceable, no one can replace it, although some altcoins have a better performance but until now, they can't still cath up with bitcoin on it's position now. Bitcoin is also known all over the world, people knows it unlike other coins. As we can observe the development of market prices, it follows bitcoin. When Bitcoin goes down, other coins will goes down as well. And that's why bitcoin has it's position to be the king of cryptocurrency as bitcoin deserves it.

It can't be happen, because you just look at the price of bitcoin now and the way it is moving and all the coins are following its way to be up and down, most of the coins just follow the bitcoin and hence there is no way getting more than bitcoin for any coin. So, I would like to invest in the coins which bitcoin is following from the very first.

no one will ever be able to take over Bitcoin's position as king.  because seeing from any aspect including price, volume, community, capitalization and also other factors no one can compete with bitcoin.  as long as bitcoin is in the crypto market it seems that bitcoin is still the strongest and based on predictions the position will be even stronger in the next few years when the value of bitcoin can reach a price that is doubled from now

Before anything else, I would like to start off that reading in different forums here is the best option why? because I answered a reply similar to the answer that Iam going to provide but a different perspective. so no negative intentions are meant.

I would like to correct you add some additional info cryptocurrency specifies that to altcoins it is like when you call a currency of USD is Dollars.

Bitcoin is the most the king and queen the value may go down but it has really good potential when it comes to the different kinds of cryptocurrency.

But I always said anything is possible but not, for now, Bitcoin and Ethereum and the two leading best when it comes to digital and cryptocurrency.

----------------------------

From what I know bitcoin and other altcoin or other kinds of cryptocurrency do not depend on your so-called king, the bitcoin.

From what I know the value of the altcoin or the different kinds of Cryptocurrency increase because the ICO users see potential so they buy the specific altcoin they want and from what I see ICO has 60% potential, not like bitcoin and Ethereum which I would label it as a 90% best.

I just looked at that data on CMC, and it says that there are currently as many as 13 281 cryptos, and that just shows that everyone wants to have their own coin/token and profit from something that has been a very hot thing in recent years.

Now that many other cryptocurrencies are seriously pumping can they take over from bitcoin? If they take over from bitcoin can they last in that position like bitcoin?

They're seriously pumping or it just seems to you? It’s easy to fool any beginner and one who isn’t aware of how a market cap works, but even such manipulative methods aren’t enough to do what you think. Bitcoin max supply is just 21 million, and its first companion currently has 118+ million in circulation and that number is increasing - and now imagine that each altcoin has a max supply of only 20 million or so - all that pumping you see would seem much less impressive.

In short, Bitcoin has what other coins do not have - real decentralization, properly set max supply and investor confidence that lasts for more than 10 years. You're actually looking for some new Bitcoin, but I have to disappoint you, I don't think you'll find it.

Bitcoin has come a long way in terms of value and popularity despite all the negative news, scam accusations of anti bitcoiners. I don't think that there is an altcoin that can stand like bitcoin. Also, so far no other altcoin is comparable and can replace bitcoin, not even Ethereum. Only bitcoin win the trust of the people because most of the altcoins are just hypecoin and no real use case and can't stay in crypto market for so long.

As the first ever cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has already demonstrated its quality as the number one coin in the world. But as cryptocurrency technology develops, there is potential for Altcoin to take over the role of Bitcoin in terms of:

 ● FUNCTIONALITY.
 ● CONTINUITY.
 ● SPEED.
 ● VOLATILITY.

The altcoin that has the potential to replace Bitcoin in terms of FUNCTIONALITY is ETHEREUM.
Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, and one of the coin that has a bright future after Bitcoin. Ethereum was the first cryptocurrency to introduce smart contracts (a blockchain-based platform for developing decentralized applications).

CARDONA is Altcoin that having the potential to take over Bitcoin in terms of CONTINUITY.
Cardano was born in the 3rd generation with the aim of fixing some of the problems faced Ethereum and Bitcoin. Today Cardona is growing in popularity and already has offices in 15 countries and 4 continents, and what sets Cardano apart from other blockchain is its work in Africa. Cardano has partnered with the Ethiopian Ministry of Education to store the academic records of 5 million students on its blockchain.

SOLANA is in the best position to take over in terms of SPEED.
In terms of speed, Bitcoin can process about 7 transactions every second (TPS), while Solana was much faster. Solana can process more than 50,000 transactions, thus making it much more scalable than Bitcoin.

CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currencies) can take over the role of bitcoin in terms of VOLATILITY.
One big obstacle to mainstream Bitcoin adoption is its volatility, and CBDC can definitely work it out. CBDC can pose a serious threat to Bitcoin as a form of digital payment. CBDC is supported by certain governments, the advantage of CBDC is that there is no price fluctuation, so it can take over the role of Bitcoin.

But until now no Altcoin has been able to touch Bitcoin in terms of price or market capitalization, especially to replace Bitcoin as the KING of cryptocurrency.

if you're talking about the rank in the market , well in my personal opinion, obviously it's impossible because bitcoin level nowadays is too far away from the alts whereas even those top cryptos still unpredictable if they can take over bitcoin. So we cannot say that even you see some coins that making hype and always give a good return afterwards still not a sign that they will gonna skyrocketed and surpass bitcoin since most events in the space are just temporary and didn't last especially when it comes altcoins. So its too hard to tell if some of them has a potential to take the bitcoin place.

Even in the next 100 years, no altcoin I repeat no altcoin can take over from Bitcoin. Remember that Bitcoin is the foundation of everything in the cryptocurrency market. How do you think a toddler can takeover from he's grand father. Impossible.
Bitcoin will continue ruling and every other coins that thinks they can do it on there own should continue flying. A little stone is what will bring then to fall to the sound of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is king.

@OP, Do you know why Bitcoin had been holding the number one position since more than a decade?

Due to:
- The total number of miners mining it, the AAA+ class security that Bitcoin provides in its transactions is provided in no other coin.
- The amount of total mining equipment being used worldwide to mine it.
- The difficulty it holds to be produced.
- Early investors who never sold their BTC no matter whatever prices they see on the charts, real hodlers.
- The electricity that's being used behind mining BTC.
- The validations BTC gets which are belonged to each and every PC that downloads full Blockchain.

And about taking over BTC?
LMAO, do you think it's that easy for any "street" coins or even major coins to get over it? If that was possible, BTC might had been already taken over, but just see this giant's marketcap. Now see ETH, do you see the difference? Even for a coin like ETH to get over BTC in ranks, it needs to gain at least 2.5-3x price so to gain that much marketcap. Is it possible? I think not.

I wouldn't say it is "impossible" but it definitely doesn't look easy neither. I would say it is "improbable", that is more like it. It is obvious that people could make a big loss in crypto if they keep believing everything will go up at all times, but bitcoin is a rare one that drops less than others. At the high point, the difference between ETH and BTC became as low as 2x, which is still a lot I know but it was as close as it ever got. With a little bit of drop on bitcoin because of something and a little bit of increase on ETH for some hyped thing and we may have seen something very close.

I do believe that it will probably not happen, but I also believe that it is not impossible neither. Let's wait and see what happens in the future, btc will stay at the top most likely but I hope that one day something at least challenges, maybe take over for a short while and go down, make it look like it could be done.

Most of newbies learn about bitcoin first before they know about other altcoins that's why its not surprising to see that bitcoin still at the top and many other alts will struggle to surpass this since in the first place this was the first option to hold by institutions and other huge whales on crypto space. It will just a crazy claim for other new project telling that they will replace bitcoin since they need huge market capitalization first before this to happen.

Of course not, although there are so many new coins that are popping up but none can match bitcoin. bitcoin remains the coin of choice and will not be replaced. although many new coins have sprung up but there are also many shitcoins in it. bitcoin came as the first crypto and became the guideline for other altcoins and we know that the former is not easy to replace. so I think it's better not to argue anymore about it anymore because we already know what the answer is.

There actually was a time a few years ago when ETH almost reached bitcoins market cap, came very close. It was mostly due to there being a disagreement with Segwit where some pool didn’t want to signal for segwit and it’s future looked bad. And Ethereum at the time was getting traction.

And it inches closer and closer however it never actually exceeded its market cap but came close by a few %s. So it’s possible that ETH or some other alt coin can have a higher market cap however not anytime soon.

BTC is still the most reliable and safest way to send money around.

It depends on how you define "overtake bitcoin"!

In terms of a nonsense factor such as market capitalization, it is trivial to go above bitcoin's since it is easy and doesn't cost anything for shitcoins to produce "supply". See the biggest shitcoin of all time called ethereum, it has 72 million ETH premined and it has contributed to its bloated and fake market cap helping it reach rank #2.
In terms of price it also is trivial to go above bitcoin. There currently are a couple of shitcoins that have small supplies (like a dozen coins) and have a price that is thousands of time bigger than bitcoin. Nobody buys these shitcoins though!

However in terms of utility and adoption not a single altcoin had been capable of getting even close to bitcoin simply because the altcoins we have seen so far are all useless.

Apart from knowing the fact bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency in the market, have you checked to know the level of dominance it has over the market? The dominance of Bitcoin is around 43%, which means it is covering almost half of the market.

There has been times when it has even crossed more than fifty percent market dominance. Then if you’re to comparer that difference to Ethereum which is the only altcoin that comes close to Bitcoin, you will see that there is a huge difference; ETH holds a dominance of 19%. So, you can see that there is a huge difference between the two, not to talk of other cryptocurrencies that are way too low to be compared with bitcoin. So, none of them stands a chance of beating bitcoin.

of the 9000 Altcoins you mentioned, only a few have survived and been able to compete with bitcoin, especially Ethereum, which followed in the footsteps of bitcoin. The rest are just a few shitcoins left.

When a government of a particular country tries to stop it,it becomes even more popular in that country.
It has really helped many people and that's why we cannot stop to invest or trade in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a life changer, the moment you turn your attentions to Bitcoin, you life is liable to change positively.
If Bitcoin has been able to survive till now when other coins have crashed, then it is very obvious BTC has come to stay.

For the question if there's an altcoin that could possibly take over the position of bitcoin the answer is no, so far there's no token that have a great performance like bitcoin, in a 9000 altcoins Ethereum followed bitcoin in hierarchy but can't take over the dominance of bitcoin.

Asked too many times but the answer still remains.
Even with ETH's innovations and a lot of altcoins in the market has been constantly improving their scalability. Smaller transaction fees and faster transactions, but still people trusts and use Bitcoin.

Still, it's far from happening that some altcoin will take Bitcoin's place. The only closest alt  to Bitcoin is ETH.

Bitcoin has come to stay, and nothing anybody can do to stop it growth
When a government of a particular country tries to stop it,it becomes even more popular in that country.
It has really helped many people and that's why we cannot stop to invest or trade in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a life changer, the moment you turn your attentions to Bitcoin, you life is liable to change positively.
If Bitcoin has been able to survive till now when other coins have crashed, then it is very obvious BTC has come to stay.
Totally agree, there is nothing that anyone, both individuals and institutions, can do that wants to stop the movement of bitcoin if it is moving to increase.
bad news that often comes to bitcoin will only be able to do it for a moment and bitcoin will remain and be able to bounce back.

it must be admitted and indeed it is proof that the great benefits of bitcoin have made many changes that occur for those who do work with bitcoin.
bitcoin has made many changes that can make many people helped by investing or trading in bitcoin.

it's only natural that bitcoin has become a legend and is the king of crypto, because now more people are familiar with crypto because of the existence of bitcoin itself. so it's no wonder that when talking about crypto it can be confirmed that it is bitcoin, even though there are other coins.

right, the only closest altcoin is eth. and eth itself can't seem to match the trust of bitcoin, this is not because of the product or technology, but a belief that makes bitcoin the king of cryptocurrencies, so no one altcoin can replace it, especially for new project altcoins

Not in my knowledge but I believe in possibilities. It can happen but we don't know when.
A new genius could be born somewhere and is just waiting for his/her mind to mature and bring out the new technology that would topple anything even Bitcoin.
There are actually good ones in the cryptocurrency market but due to what Bitcoin already planted which is trust, it's not easy to take over it.
When security is being discussed Bitcoin is also on the top, when people are starting to have knowledge about cryptocurrencies they mostly start in Bitcoin.
It's like the initiation of knowledge before they go through investing in altcoins.

Actually NO. No cryptocurrency token can competate with bitcoin. BITCOIN being the pioneer cryptocurrency in general will always carry the the lead in terms of market price and in terms of volatility. Beside, all altcoins price depends on bitcoin price, so there is any way at any point other altcoins will overtake bitcoin in cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin has all the potential to remain the first position among all the cryptocurrencies. Despite ethereum and solana are preparing to pump heavily in the market than bitcoin, it will not still pump more than bitcoin in the market. During the pandemic that took over last year, many investors was thinking bitcoin price will drop to zero level for other cryptos to take over the position till next year 2022 before bitcoin price can manage to get to second position. Till now bitcoin price is still improving than any other cryptos in the market. Since the year is approaching the bitcoin price will still increasing more to a level no other cryptocurrencies will take over the first position from bitcoin till 2025 .

Just one thing to keep in mind is that if ever there's a competitor on whom would take over it should no other than Ethereum I guess, but this time it isn't yet on that 100% level and not even at half.

Bitcoin have been and is still leading in the Crypto world. I don't think any altcoin can compete with Bitcoin. Bitcoin keep getting more popular everyday. Despite the government placing ban on it, and the negative words been spoken about Bitcoin, it still stands out and increasing in price. Is clearly obvious that it can't be overthrown by any other coin.

Yes, besides bitcoin's popularity, if a lot of people talk about crypto, it's always synonymous with bitcoin. so the trend mark crypto is bitcoin, so everyone seems to only understand that crypto is bitcoin. whereas many other coins are available in crypto but bitcoin is identical to crypto itself.

Bitcoin's influence on crypto is very obvious, because bitcoin is indeed the target of many people to do anything in crypto, it will definitely focus on bitcoin. because bitcoin has brought crypto to be better known and bitcoin can be up to now because many have made bitcoin a promising investment for the long term.

I think no one will ever bypass Bitcoin. After all, such a cryptocurrency as bitcoin does not exist with its history and a long road to success. After all, what we know about him, besides the name of Satoshi, but nothing, there is the same cryptocurrency on the market with its past, which is practically nonexistent, the answer will be unambiguous, bitcoin is unique and no one will bypass it.

Indeed. Bitcoin is not being called as king and never be called as father of cryptocurrency without nothing. Once bitcoin's price dump, altcoins will also dump, if it pumps altcoin follows. So, as what we observed then, bitcoin is unique and no one can replace it.

OP,there's no point of asking rhetorical questions. Both we and you know the answer.Bitcoin is the king and this won't change anytime soon.Altcoins might get pumped, but this is only temporary.
From where did you get the info about 9000 cryptocurrencies on the market?Do you count all the tokens, that were built on top of ethereum as cryptocurrencies?I don't think that the tokens are actual cryptocurrencies.
90% of those 9000 cryptocurrencies are dead shitcoins with a ridiculously low daily trading volume, that are just sitting there forgotten by their developers.
I wonder what would be the altcoin that will dethrone Bitcoin, but I can't figure out what kind of features must be attached to an altcoin,in order to have a big advantage over BTC.

Point of correction, Bitcoin isn't the most volatile cryptocurrency, the altcoins are, especially the newly trending ones (memecoins, nft and Defi). These projects losses value of double high digits quite frequently than Bitcoin does and majority hardly recover from this price loss. Excluding the fact Bitcoin has the first mover advantage as been the first successful decentralized cryptocurency, this altcoins are been poorly developed to even stand a chance again Bitcoin.

Some altcoins have very nice ideas but instead of focusing on developing that idea into reality, this projects admins get distracted with price speculation. In trying to achieve quick profit in the shortest time possible they turn the projects into a speculating token instead of having actual real world utility. As a result of this they begin to lose support/adoption and just become another coin for speculation, this is what makes Bitcoin stand out from them.

I don't think there will be a coin that can take over Bitcoin's current position. Although Bitcoin's performance has lost to some altcoins, it can be seen that until now altcoins have not been able to replace Bitcoin as the king of crypto. Other values are still far behind Bitcoin, besides that Bitcoin is also more widely known by people. If someone smells crypto, it must be what they think the first time was Bitcoin because Bitcoin itself has been popular and known to many people. So it is unlikely that Btcoin's position is replaced by other coins.

Of the 9000 coins that are said there are also many shitcoins in them and that makes them unable to replace bitcoin. although there are many good altcoins but till now haven't been able to switch bitcoins and it will be difficult. New coins keep popping up and it's our job to be able to choose good coins and have good prospects to buy. for me bitcoin is still a top priority and is superior to other coins and is very worth to buy.

It will always be the King coin, the reason is unique: "It has a life of its own" is the only currency that has that function, when we analyze any altcoin, the closest to BTC as is the case with ETH, ETH does not have a life of its own because it depends on BTC, and for this reason is that all altcoins when BTC goes up, altcoins go up, and if BTC goes down in price, all altcoins bleed hugely.

In the case of today there are currencies that are coming out or tokens, which are called NFT, especially the new games based on BFT launch their tokens with pre-sales and public sales, where there is a lot of capitalization, but this ecosystem likewise does not they have a life of their own.

The crypto market is got populared by BTC. Btc alone taken 1.15T Market Cap now. If you think about some Altcoin that can be over take BTC I don't think it's possible. Alts means alternative you can invest something alternative besides BTC. Whatever you say first things came to mind is BTC. I don't think that anyone wanna invest his majority investment on altcoin. Bitcoin has no founder but if talk about altcoin there's need a founder what if they got away after getting  so much volume.

So when the question came about that is there would be something that can over take BTC , then everyone will think about their security like btc.

If there's something get invented in near future which is provide you more security than btc and can be believed by more people than btc then maybe there's a chance to overcome. But we are not fortune tellers. We just can imagine . Your todays imagination is future invention.

So you will find both type of person who belive BTC is king and there's someone also who belives that there's could be something that can overcome BTC.

The thing is you have to count which believer's are strong in number's.
Although I'm not so good as a speaker , I hope you get something what I wanna say about it

Yearn finance (YFI) that is now $32.865 was topping bitcoin then and that was a source of concern cryptocurrency ethusiast whether bitcoin was going down from then but bitcoin came back as top coin. The price of bitcoin will surely be up in the future but this time, it's approached $60k. We might see the price to drop some more and that's essential to happen.

Why would we need bitcoin to be taken down? Why do people want their coin to be going over bitcoin anyway? I believe that bitcoin is still the king and will stay the king and that is not going to change anytime soon. Eventually we should be looking at everything to look to go up more and more with ALL coins.

This way it would mean that you would get bitcoin doing 10x and other coins doing 10x as well, and we all would be earning a lot of money. This is how you should be focusing to see in the future of crypto, not changing the ranks all the time, not even just bitcoin but other coins, let them all stay where they are and let them go up a ton all together. If you want your coin to go up, and not care about other coins, then you are not going to end up with something that is profitable for the entire market and yours will go down eventually as well, so hope for it to go up all together.

BTC is not just a king it is like a grandfather for all the alt. BTC is on the first place because it is the most significant and has the biggest capitalization (1,159,529,029,943) among all the coins. BTC rules the market. You can often observe how growth/falling of BTC is dragging alts. I think that no one alt ever will take over from BTC.

bitcoin will always increase every 4 years and will always create renewable ATH, so you are right that bitcoin in the future will increase, it will continue to apply as long as the halving period is still there, so bitcoin will certainly create renewable ATH continuously.

if we look at the market capitalization, we can see that bitcoin is the best of all cryptocurrencies. it is very unlikely that anyone will be able to compete with bitcoin for this decade, besides there are surprises that are beyond our ability to think, of course we also have to be realistic about this. bitcoin is definitely the king of all coins and has become a reference for other coins in crypto.

Those coins are never going to surpass bitcoin, I know that some people may look at such a huge number and will think that at least one of those coins must have a chance of surpassing bitcoin in the future, but it is not true, this market depends almost entirely on what investors think of bitcoin, if bitcoin is doing well then the market is doing well, if bitcoin is doing badly then the rest of the market is doing badly as well, so taking that into account I would not worry at all about such a scenario ever happening.

Yes, Bitcoin became the most special crypto because it was the first generation of Blockchain technology. I guess you didn’t check the dominance rate of bitcoin in the market. In the whole cryptocurrency market Bitcoin has a dominance rate of about 43%. So that means that the whole altcoins in the market shares around 50% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. So, how exactly do you think that these cryptocurrencies are going to be able to beat Bitcoin to the number one position in the cryptocurrency market?

Even Ethereum that is the number one alternative coin in the market has only a dominance rate of just 19%, which means that the others have way less than that. So, I don’t see that happening anytime soon. By the way, there are over 13,000 coins according to Coinmarketcap.com.

No one can match bitcoins dominance. No alts can even reach what bitcoin has reached already even the great Ethereum itself. It's widely spread throughout the world and institutions are into it. Even countries like El Salvador now accept Bitcoin only and not any other alts as a legal tender. It will continue as that and these 2-10 spots will surely change places as time goes by.

in market capitalization it is clear that currently the value alone is $1,265B+ and the closest to bitcoin, ethereum alone, can only be 3/5 of bitcoin. the possibility of being able to catch up will almost certainly experience very severe obstacles.
so it is natural that bitcoin is said to be the king of crypto to date.

it seems that everything when talking about crypto is definitely related to bitcoin and rarely says anything else. yes, i agree with you that countrie like elsavador only accept bitcoin because it is very profitable and indeed now they receive that profit from buying bitcoin.

Now a days Bitcoin has crossed the ATH and it is still gaining much more attention of the investors, which may be very better for the traders, because all the coins or I can say mostly coins are related to bitcoin, whenever there is a slight change happens in bitcoin then also in some other coins go up and down too, that's why it is still the king.

I'm wondering, everyone who works with Bitcoin considers this currency to be the real king of this market?
I would think the vast majority of the people have this opinion and it is not difficult to understand why, I mean when you look at bitcoin and you look at its competitors is not even close, lets look at the second coin in the market which is ethereum, long time ago there was a fork, which is the reason behind what created ethereum classic, that went against everything that bitcoin stands for and as such since that time bitcoin supporters have always maintained some suspicions about ethereum, and since what happened cannot be changed then they will never adopt ethereum with the same enthusiasm, and at best they see it as a coin they can use to speculate and get more bitcoin in return.

There are over 9,000 cryptocurrencies in cryptocurrency but the number one coin is Bitcoin. Bitcoin is said to be the king of all coins. Come to the market for any other coin like Bitcoin I don't think so. That is why Bitcoin is always considered as a king.

Indeed. Bitcoin is not being called as the king of cryptocurrency without nothing. I think all of us also observe that whenever bitcoin prices pump, other coins will also pump and if bitcoin dump it's price, other coins will follow. It is being called as the number one coin because of this. Bitcoin has always been the king, and it will remain so, it's obvious.

Many of them tried already however they seem to be failing all the time. Bitcoin has been the safe house investment since the birth of it and the crypto space. The only currency that I have ever seen climbing the ladder very fast was USDT, TRX, ETH and ADA. However, sooner or later all they were switching the places 2nd, 3rd, 4th, that's all but never got into the 1st rank.

The most important thing here is, ETH was the only currency which almost tried to bit the BTC but that was only for negligible time so the excitement gone for the same.

The fact that its emission is unlimited made it fall. The alts will always pop out as supply of billion and meme are in trillion. It would be hard to see them catching up the first number by terms of market cap and value.

obviously because everyone has said without realizing that that's what finally made bitcoin so famous. when talking about crypto, everyone will definitely point to bitcoin, not to other coins. Moreover, we know that the market capitalization of bitcoin has reached $1.2B which probably no one will be able to compete with even to make the achievement of just getting close. which may be possible at this time is only ethereum and is also unlikely to be able to make changes. so it's fair to say that bitcoin is the king of crypto.

Whether its competitors are too weak or Bitcoin too strong which must be very difficult to catch up,
indeed that has the potential is Ethereum but I'm not sure that Ethereum can replace Bitcoin in the near future,
all of that takes time and it's better to just keep following the developments because crypto is difficult to predict

I hope that people will get over the fact that we need to beat each other in order to be good. I mean I get that bitcoin is the king, but why do people always feel like they need to compete with each other in the ranking world. I have seen so many people wanting their coin to go up, and in ranking as well.

Imagine a world where the 5th biggest coin is 50 billion dollars worth market cap, and 6th has 49, if the sixth goes to 40 and 5th goes to 39 billion then they switch places but this didn't help anyone at all right? I really hope that we all go up, that way we know that crypto is doing better and that is how we could profit from something like this. Otherwise we are just drawing ourselves back instead of helping each other go up.

Can you please mention the name of the particular Altcoins that you claim to "surpasses" Bitcoin in unit price or market value. If we are making our submission it will appropriate to provide evidence that will backup our point so that one can easily verify as to whether it is truth or not and not just leave blank. This because newbies may not be well informed of what has happened in the past.

Oh, yeah? Did you say that I just made a mere claim and that it wasn't true? Come on, just do a bit of digging on issues before counter reacting to them. I'm sure you would've easily got the answer to that if you had googled that same item rather than rush here to make it look like it was a lie. Every information we seek is just a click away – that's, if only we can put in the work and do a little bit of googling. You may want to check historical data for YFI (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/yearn-finance) to check its ATH or cross-check its April to May 2021 data side by side with that of Bitcoin for the same months.

It is a term here in the forum but it does not literarily have a coronation, okay same on this, bitcoin is a leading cryptocurrency among other altcoins.

Since bitcoin is the first and pioneer in the crypto world, it has been already gained the trust of many people. And that is right, it has a unique feature that no one can change, despite from that bitcoin has a true meaning of decentralization. Even though how high fees many people still use bitcoin and the blockchain technology behind them.

Bitcoin holds a marketcap of a trillion and a few billion dollars, and for any other cryptocurrency to take over btc, it needs to reach such marketcap. To make it happen, a cryptocurrency needs to provide all the features that bitcoin possess, while also ensuring that the security is kept very high and at par to meet btc's mining capabilities, then we might see another cryptocurrency to take btc's place but btc had been there for over a decade, who knows which crypto will take it over and till when will it remain at top?

I doubt if any coin can surpass bitcoin in any way. however, bitcoin's influence on the entire cryptocurrency world can still be felt today.
bitcoin became king to date because of its huge adoption and influence. In the past, many coins have tried to surpass bitcoin, in terms of both price and volume. it's just that, until now, all of that was just a rumor, and the coins in question were even still very dependent on bitcoin. For several years, Bitcoin has dominated the cryptocurrency market and has maintained a good presence. It is the oldest and most reliable cryptocurrency, and it has already established a strong market position. As a result, it will be difficult for any other cryptocurrency to overtake Bitcoin in the near future. Though many of them, such as Ethereum and Dogecoin, have great potential, however. I believe it will take a long time for them to reach their full potential.

I definitely agree that there is a good chance Bitcoin could be toppled one day and I have always believed that and said that. I know that people believe there will never be anything at the top above bitcoin but unfortunately bitcoin is a very low tech thing compared to others right now, it was the best for a while when it started but look at what we have with other things now.

I am not saying that better tech equals better ranks, that doesn't mean that we have to believe bitcoin will stay neither. For example, ETH is second and there are better tech blockchains out there compared to ETH but I believe that we are not going to see anything better than ETH for a while in rankings neither. This is why I honestly say that one day ETH will flip Bitcoin but it may not be right now, it could be sometime before it actually reaches to a whole new level.

In general Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies and I believe that because what Bitcoin has achieved so far is really impressive,
it is also difficult of course for other coins to match the achievements of Bitcoin,
Ethereum and BNB are two of the top and potential altcoins but that's not easy either

Bitcoin is indeed worthy of being the king of crypto, because until now there is not a single coin that can beat the dominance of Bitcoin. Since Bitcoin
was created until now, it has always been the number one coin in the crypto world. I agree with you, Bitcoin's performance is amazing, even many
people try to stop Bitcoin, but always end up failing. Bitcoin is also the best performing asset in a pandemic situation, so it's no wonder this year
Bitcoin managed to reach several new ATHs. I can guarantee Bitcoin will provide a large profit as long as we can be patient holding Bitcoin
in the long term. Some altcoins that are under Bitcoin, such as BNB and ETH, have not been able to beat Bitcoin until now. So don't let us not
include Bitcoin in our portfolio, because Bitcoin deserves to be the first choice when we invest in crypto.

Despite the recent pumping of BNB and ethereum in the market, bitcoin price is still $59k to remain the king among other cryptocurrencies in the world. Many investors are seriously investing on bitcoin because of some signs the market is developing for investors to take their investment serious before the market price hit $70k. Over some years now, bitcoin still standing as the most popular coin in the market despite the recent rising of some coins in the market.
With what we are seeing around the market will not make bitcoin price drop to $30. Bitcoin price can only reduce to $50 before it can pick up again to cause massive profit making in the market.

I used to think that bitcoin's potential would be exhausted after so many business trips and just need Ethereum to ambush at such times, Bitcoin won't have any fierce resistance right after that but it is quite funny that whether the future is near or the future is far away, such ambushes never succeed, it seems that bitcoin creates an outer shield to weaken those who approach. After such weakness and dizziness, teleporting before sight is what bitcoin does to Ethereum, perhaps ethereum is just a servant, ambush was already on the king's mind and the king was quick to counterattack

Happening of the things that you had been said in your post is quite difficult or even I can say impossible in a sense, because bitcoin was the king in the past and now it is increasing more and more and this is the only coin on which most of the top coins even depends, if its price is going towards the ath then these coins also following it in another ways.

There are already more than 9,000 cryptocurrencies in the market today, and the last time that I checked, there were already about 14,000 cryptocurrencies in the market. New coins are being released into the market all the time at a high rate, and around the beginning of next year you would see more of them and it might even be more than 15,000.

But, they are all still not going to be able to surpass Bitcoin, that’s more like an impossible thing for them to achieve. Bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency, and taking out the main is not an easy fit to achieve. So all these alternative cryptocurrencies are only going to compete among themselves and wouldn’t get close to Bitcoin at all.

indeed 100% concur that btc is above all else and When we hear the term cryptographic money, the primary name that springs up as a main priority is bitcoin The very first digital currency presented and any remaining advanced monetary standards drifting in the market took motivation from bitcoin If you need to buy bitcoins you should visit some gathering and site for inquiry in light of the fact that There are a few highlights of bitcoin that improve it than other computerized monetary forms and a couple of them are as per the following.

of all the coins on the market today the rest are coins that have no value so we really have to be able to choose them properly. It is true that bitcoin is the most popular coin and is in great demand by many people so it is not surprising that the price has soared. Until now no one has been able to match it and I don't think it will. to take over bitcoin is a difficult thing for altcoins even though they have good prospects. so it is not easy to take over bitcoin in the crypto market and take over people's interest in bitcoin.

No currency under any circumstances is capable of replacing BTC, it simply does not have the history or structure required for it, in short it is irreplaceable, all currencies are dependent on BTC, in fact all currencies that exist, exist and have life thanks to BTC and it is easily demonstrable, because if BTC rises, all altcoins follow the movement, if BTC falls all other altcoins bleed and some cannot even be recovered afterwards.

There was some trend shift when I observed the price of BTC and altcoins from 2013. What you're saying for now and the year before is pretty similar. But if you notice there may be times when BTC sideways then altcoins tend to go up. Especially for some pairs such as BNB, ETH, USDT sometimes they create their own flow that is different from Bitcoin. Quite happy with this situation, because with this fotality I can take advantage.

I think people trust more on bitcoin and it possesses an important place in digital currencies. You can see in the past that there were a lot of propaganda and anti-crypto thoughts but still, people trusted bitcoin and it still stood up.
Also, there is a huge difference between bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. We may expect that other cryptocurrencies can gain the same trust and importance but it may require a lot of time. Yet the future of bitcoin is very bright.

Yes, I believe in that word that Bitcoin the king especially when it even comes to the term of price. It truth that 97% 0f existing coins lay on Bitcoin price. Once Bitcoin dump other coins follow when it also pump other coins too. Infact Bitcoin was the first coin created before others like altcoins, Ethereum and binance.

Altcoins are more updated when it comes to real use case and features but the community would always be having the final say on which one would be mainly supported and which do comes next.

So always take consideration about risk taking.

bitcoin is a pioneer in cryptocurrency. by getting the highest trust, the biggest investment is in bitcoin. coupled with a limited supply so do not be surprised if the price is getting more expensive. In the future, I don't think there is anything that can replace bitcoin, because it has trust even though there are many other coins that offer good products too

I agree with you that with supplies that continue to decrease, prices will continue to increase and be sought after. it must be remembered that it has become a trend mark of crypto that if people say crypto they only have bitcoin in mind and will never talk about anything else and this alone can make it clear that bitcoin is the main thing in crypto. although there may be many good coins but none have their own charisma like bitcoin. let alone market capitalization until now no one has ever been able to surpass bitcoin

It would be difficult for other cryptocurrencies to beat bitcoin, even difficult to at least give a tough time to bitcoin due to its popularity and trust of people on the bitcoin. Other currencies may get good recognition in the market but against bitcoin! it's far more difficult and will take a lot of time.

In this market trend, BTC has been very volatile, in fact it is more likely that BTC will fall in price, however there is a currency that catches my attention that resists falling when BTC falls, and it is BNB, It has a lot of strength, in a big downward streak of BTC days ago, eBNB does not stay with a low price, its price recovers quickly, it may be because of the large amount of projects that are done on the BSC network causing many to buy and the supply decreases, that is why the BNB has a good yield.

Bitcoin can be said to be the king because of its large price capitalization and trading volume that dominates the crypto market.  but for an altcoin to take over bitcoin and be in bitcoin's position I think it's a big problem for altcoins and it's not going to be easy.

For me it's hard to see that in the near future any alt coin could overtake bitcoin as the new leading crypto currency. Never say never, but at the moment it seems unrealistic. Bitcoin became so mainstream over the last years that I don't think investors are going to abandon it just for another coin. That is why I agree with your statement that Bitcoin is king. Any crypto investor should atleast hold a bit of his money in bitcoins. There are a lot of attractive alt coin projects out there, but it's very hard to beat bitcoins over a longer period of time.

Well it's hard to replace the bitcoin title as the king with another crypto because bitcoin was the 1st generation of cryptocurrency. But as utilities many cryptocurrencies have great utility as a token rather than bitcoin because the technology growth is really fast as I know. Some crypto projects provide many functions in only one token that's why many new tokens will compete with each other to make their brand awareness.

currently the market capitalization has reached $ 926,199,509.052 even some time ago it has penetrated $ 1B, obviously the closest is only ethereum and its value is not up to half.

You are right that there are many altcoins that are circulating and known to the public but all when talking about crypto will only focus on bitcoin, this is clearly a sign that crypto without bitcoin does not seem to be famous and known to many people.

It won't happen. Even with a lot of trends that will be favoring the altcoins, they just can't beat it. And to the folks that are still thinking about beating bitcoin. It's better to forget about that and accept the fact that bitcoin will remain sitting on the top and there will be no altcoins that could kick it out. The developers of those top altcoins have high respect for bitcoin too and they're not claiming about replacing its place but, I've seen some hype coins developers are thinking that they can.  ;D

Out of these 9000 cryptocurrencies you see on CMC, 96% are nothing but shitcoins. Only handful are worthy to be called as cryptocurrency like etherum, monero and so on. Bitcoin is king in terms of marketcap, daily value and most importantly value. There is only one coin aka eth that is somewhere close to bitcoin but taking over bitcoin is not possible by ethereum.

A lot of backlashing, bashing, and FUD. Bitcoin is truly consistently despite those things that have tried to pull it down and stop, yet, bitcoin remained at the top.

Anyone who thinks that there will be a coin to surpass bitcoin, maybe in the near future when all of us agree that we don't like bitcoin anymore and it's going down but still not the case.

They try to herd public opinion with their words or writings about the ugliness of Bitcoin. It's been such a natural thing as long as I've been journaling bitcoin for seven years it's always happened. But it doesn't seem to be a big deal because the trust in bitcoin is greater.

There are many fundamentally strong coins are there like ether, solana, chain link, dot, terra luna, etc. Presently many are invest or trade on these coins more than bitcoin. Because of affordability, higher profit than bitcoin, etc. The market is highly volatile and the topic is highly vague so will wait and watch.

Whenever new people search about cryptocurrency or want to learn about crypto in general, the first thing they would most likely see is Bitcoin or maybe Ethereum at the second place.  With how Bitcoin is popular among the other coins hence why the rest called altcoins.

If they take over from bitcoin can they last in that position like bitcoin?
In what term does one to take Bitcoin's position? Is it price factor? Volume?
Bitcoin is just strong enough to maintain the position even though there are so many things going on in cryptocurrency right now.

Indeed! Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency and it will be. However, in terms of value, it is difficult to predict the future of Bitcoin. There is also a possibility that Ethereum might beat Bitcoin and become one of the most valuable cryptocurrencies.

Forget about that possibility of beating bitcoin. Aren't we tired of thinking about that because ever since in the past years, many have thought that Ethereum and any other altcoins are going to beat bitcoin.

But no one of them able to beat bitcoin.

Let's embrace the reality that bitcoin is tough and it's going to remain the king no matter how many good projects are seen lately.

I think they will never overtake him, something must not happen for some new cryptocurrency to come out that will beat Bitcoin, because we all observe that even with the launch of NFT projects, Bitcoin is still the king in the world of cryptocurrency.

It seems impossible to overtake bitcoin for other coins, but we must not feel that it is impossible. anything can happen and the possibility is possible even though the question is, it will probably take a long time and wait for a new coin that is very potential and able to replace it.

because after all anything can happen and there will always be changes but the problem is the time is difficult to predict when, for other coins to replace him as king in crypto. so although many projects to come like NFT, metaverse etc. if no one can replace it, it is certain that bitcoin is still the king.

So far I think Bitcoin is still the king of crypto and it's hard for any other coin to beat Bitcoin,
A top altcoin like Ethereum I think has potential but in the near future it's definitely not going to happen

Why do you think it's impossible? After all, in fact, more and more new investors do not consider bitcoin as an investment, especially after extreme price collapses due to market manipulation. New investors, even small ones, are considering new promising projects more and more often, because this is not a wake-up call, is it?

I think bitcoin is irreplaceable, where until now bitcoin still has confidence as the best investment from various points of view in cryptocurrency. although many other altcoins are growing rapidly, but when bitcoin is down for a long period of time for example, then I think altcoins are also mostly down. this is seen from 2018
