Apple CEO Tim Cook have invested on cryptocurrency. He has disclosed it in a recorded interview. He mentioned it as part of his diversified portfolio. His investment was from his personal point, and Apple doesn't have any plans of investing/accepting cryptocurrency. This is a big news, and were into discussion around the social media platforms. Majority of the huge company CEO's own crypto. This is a big thing and an indication of growth of cryptocurrency network.

The man trying to play it safe unlike someone who loves dogs that we all know. He is wary of the price volatility that's why he doesn't want to risk the company and I think that's okay. It still opens up the possibility of future crypto or blockchain integration into Apple as also mentioned in the article.

I have been reading about it all day. Every single news outlet has been posting it on all of my social media sites. This is a pretty damn big deal in my opinion.  This could certainly mean that apple could eventually start implementing things having to deal with crypto , would be so huge!

I have read it here there's a lot of good news around now on crypto and most especially adopting, investing, and legalizing Bitcoin.  It seems there's a big pump that will come, isn't it?

But on his statement said, "for a while" means he diversified his investment for a while and might he knows that Bitcoin was keep growing and growing the price each day, it might they aren't long term holders.  However, this is still good news IMO.

I have a suspicion that people who are fully immersed in technology such as Apple's Tim Cook or Facebook's Zuckerberg and others have already detected Bitcoin on their radar much earlier. It is next to impossible they haven't encountered Bitcoin early on. Many of them must have bought Bitcoin, albeit secretly. Perhaps to avoid stirring up the hornet's nest. Coming out is easier nowadays with Bitcoin more accepted than ever. It would be interesting to know how long this “for a while” of Tim Cook is.

Anyway, Tim Cook is in. There's no reason why the ordinary Juan remains hesitant.

Of course it's a big deal, the CEO of the biggest company that sells phones that are relatively cheap in terms of their functionality and people still ate up all of it anyway. Read the OP, Tim Cook's investment in crypto doesn't reflect what the company is going to do in the future so it's unlikely their going to be messing with any of it. It might influence their decision but given that their shareholders are all old relics, I think that crypto will have a hard time being considered to be a part of.

Most probably mate, they are one of those people who have detected bitcoin in it's early stage but they choose to know more deep about the technology before they dive in and make a move of investing in it. They are those people who were can we say a tech savvy people so it is so impossible that they might know this technology recently, I think Tim Cook and Zuckerberg just working on it secretly not just like Elon Musk who was vocal on crypto platform earlier this year. The more high profile people open up about crypto the more the crypto become well-known and I can feel that we are one step ahead to see the a more brighter future of crypto.

Yeah this is a good point. Apple is big venture now and one of the finest tech industries with lavish offices around the globe. I think even the slightest news stating that Apple is going to invest in the crypto integration then it could change the whole story for us. Apple is already known for its Apple Pay services and wallet integrations on every device. The ecosystem goes way beyond that and help you make transaction right from any device where you are logged in with your apple ID.

There are big chances that apple could just have bitcoin and eth payment for their clients. Before that why not to buy shares when its cheap and when this news drive their fans nuts they will be first to sell. Lolz. Well on the serious note, its really possible. 

These people have access to excess money. These money comes from us who buys China made iPhones at US made pricing. So it's no wonder that Apple is a trillion dollar company and a CEO of the company, Tim gets a handsome bonus which basically sits in his account making zero inflation adjusted profit. So people with such deep-pocket are exploring options to invest their money elsewhere and considering the performance of crypto, there's no better choice right at this moment.

So what Tim Cook did, is just a wise step to make use of his unused money in the best possible way! While it's not a news which will impact bitcoin super positively, but possibly win some trust of common mass. Nothing major!

Yes, we are seeing a steady trickle of good news. If we don't have some unexpected FUD like the miners' crisis in China this year, it is normal for the price to go up in these two months left to the end of the year.

Looking at this? seems like Tim is trying to play safe and wondering what would be the community reaction to this one and if there is a good outcome then maybe Apple Itself will enter crypto as well.
He is a clear starter of the company even if he literally denied the fact that apple is involved in this decision yet why need to broadcast? meaning they are gathering reactions from the majority of the people specially apple supports/users.

I respect his decision to not include the company in his personal investments, unlike some other CEO out there who uses the name of his ventures, putting those too at risk just because he wants to prove a point and chase clout to gain more attention. Though again this might just be testing the waters and gauging public reaction on what he does as an individual connected to an important company. It’s good that more and more big names are starting to venture towards crypto little by little. At the least, they are seeing other possibilities on crypto aside from the traditional investments than they’re used to for the longest of time.

Hyperbitcoinisation, it’s only a matter of time now until the world is fully submerged. We are at a stage now where it is way more risky to have zero exposure to bitcoin.

I'm not sure that investing at ATH is 'playing safe'. It's just a FOMO train, and I don't think Bitcoin can keep going without ever crashing. Once it does, these newcomers that poured so much money at such a high price point will be very disappointed and probably lose a lot because of engaging in panic selling and not willing to wait for what can be years before the next bull market. Maybe he invested a while ago, and then it's a different story, but buying when the price is at its highest is never safe. I hope Bitcoin doesn't crash, and they (people like Tim Cook) don't start talking trash and lobbying anti-crypto legislation because of the bad timing of the investment.

I am not surprised to know the CEO of Apple invested in crypto. It is inevitable trend that billionaires especially tech-made billionaires start to invest into crypto.

It would be triggers for such Big-Tech to start their developments to adapt to the evolution of blockchain industry.

This is big news for crypto to be honest, and the fortunate part is Tim Cook might want to clear the air by trying to separate his business deals from his personal  investment ventures but many might see this to have potential influence on the current company his working for to do something crypto related which means Apple could have something for the crypto world on its radar. This is bullish news if you ask me ...

Having Cook on cryptos side is a big win, as this means we have Apple in our corner too :P

I kinda think that a lot of those types of investors have held BTC fir longer than we think, they just value the privacy of their investments more than shouting from the rooftops. I mean, more and more will start coming out with it, but it would be false to assume that all of them just now got to it. I don't know, just my 2 cents.

And all of a sudden, more big names are starting to acknowledge and embrace Bitcoin. Although that cryptocurrencies can’t please everybody like China, massive adoption can’t be stopped no matter how slow or fast it will be.

Why do we care about another rich guy who only buys crypto but doesn't use it? As OP says it's just a personal point, nothing to do with Apple investing or planning to make crypto use a part of their company policy.

This is not an indication of crypto growth just an increase of crypto ownership. Not a bad thing but not the same as "mass adoption".

Apple doesn’t currently have any cryptocurrency products or services. It does allow crypto wallet apps on its iPhone App Store, but it also prohibits mining apps.

Why is it big news that a man you didn't even know his name until today invested in cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin is not mentioned anywhere? A man may have invested a few hundred or a thousand $ in some altcoin, and some call it great news, completely ridiculous from my perspective.

Pointing out how apple doesn't have anything to do with it might be a good idea, this way people won't get influenced in the wrong way and start doting the whole company regarding bitcoins. The whole point of investing in different areas is making sure your assets are safe and diversified, cutting the losses. This is an important step since if this went well so maybe in the future the company might look at this as a promising sector. More people would be positively influenced by his actions for sure.

-Other than that he is not alone in that, there are many people selling their traditional assets for getting hold of Bitcoins, people literally sold gold, people who were against cryptocurrencies like bitcoins. Therefore we might see a boon in the future for sure.

Its not very surprising to have companies or in this case, persons like this come around on a crypto investment. Its something that is bound to happen but, only a question of when (time). Its a win for cryptos even though, its not based on the company accepting cryptos  and maybe in time, the company might see the need for some cryptos in there portfolio.
When it comes to diversification of investments, its a necessity and every bilusiness minded individual would be doing themselves a favour or the organisation they represent to look towards some crypto investments. Its a necessity now than ever to avoid stories or how they could have jumped on it.

You're right, future integration with crypto is never off the table, just something that needs to be taken with care since at the end of the day Apple has to satisfy its investors. I should mention that with the retail trends joining hands with the crypto space, I do not envision Apple to sit on the sidelines. Though, timing is something that I suppose can't be agreed on yet, as Tim pointed out.

Either way, I do not think it's negative for crypto, the man covered what needed to be said to ensure the safety of his company. Still it is nice to see most of these business men are not ignoring the sector and are giving some thought to it!

Bitcoin is still good enough even without China around. And with its high demand coming from big institutions, this will all lead to its massive adoption in the long run. No matter if it will be fast or slow, as long as it is slowly adopted in some parts of the world, then it will still be win win scenario for bitcoin in the end. And knowing all these big names are starting to embrace bitcoin, i think we will see it more often as it becomes more popular and a lot of people are now starting to identify bitcoin.

Crypto is for everybody and anyone could freely make out decisions whether they do take engagement or involvement or totally avoid it because we do have different stance and perceptions towards it.

This is excellent news, IMO. For sure, for personal reasons, there's nothing wrong with investing in a speculative asset like BTC, but for an enormous company like Apple, I don't think it would be that easy to adopt it or something. But TBH, if Tesla can do it, I think they can too, right? Not sure about the laws there, but still, I think it can be done.

Was also saw an apple job vacancy that they need a blockchain developers, i think apple started to realize that bitcoin and cryptocurrency will have a special place in the future, so as a big giant tech company they have to prepare to reasearch more about cryptocurrency and create something goodi n the future.

To be honest I'm not surprised that Apple's CEO admits to investing in crypto personally, because even Elon Musk can invest in crypto, surely other
big company CEOs will follow too. Maybe now some big company CEOs have invested in crypto but secretly, or even many CEOs of large companies
are interested in crypto after seeing the very rapid increase in the price of Bitcoin. Whatever the reason, more and more people are investing in crypto
this is good news, because crypto is getting more and more people's trust. I understand Tim Cook's statement that he is investing in crypto doesn't

He might be New in investing but he is not new in this world, Tim is a Tech person and understand blockchain deeper than us so I'm sure he knew the consequences of Investing in Hyping market and in dumping .

I would not be surprised at all that he has been holding for quite some time. Maybe not sub 1k lengths, but enough to be confident in an investment.

I think the same, there are probably more people who are really into Bitcoin. But they won't disclose it to the public. Most government officials also invest secretly into Crypto. However, Tim Cook surely took a good step by Investing in Crypto.

Slowly they all are disclosing their investment and i also heard somewhere that Tim cook revealed about his investment in bitcoin and eth and there is no surprise in that because they always have plans to make early investment and he didn't disclose the amount as they don't want to tax the gains.Majority of big names would be holding these coins and will disclose them with time and till the time they are enjoying their gains and we also don't know in which year they have been part of it.First they opposes it and then they are the ones who invest in them.

Anyone can invest in cryptocurrencies from his personal point of view. Even if it's an Apple CEO or other company leader, it's a natural thing. Tim Cook said himself that crypto investments were only made of his personal will and it was clear that Apple had no intention of adopting crypto.

Well, the fact that I was thinking right now was that perhaps investors are opened their minds for the opportunity because as I have seen and heard recently, individual and institutional investors are now looking forward to bitcoin investment and look at this Apple CEO, he diversified his portfolio into a good one and I think he will not regret once seeing the price was increase and no doubt it will happen since there is a lot of good news that we have on crypto right now.

I am not surprised about this news because
1) Government fails to bring Bitcoin
2) IMF boss advises the government to join the crypto system.
3) Kiyosaki advises people to use crypto as a hedge fund which the pandemic proves him right.
4) Tesla makes more money through their investment in crypto and Elon tweeted when fiat is not profitable only the dumb won't seek an alternative.

 I believe almost all the Billionaires, Millionaires and celebrities invested in Bitcoin though they might not invest in it directly but some of them do it through firms like Grayscale and the reason will don't know this is because the company cannot disclose the information of their customers to the public.

Yep, it is a natural thing. But having them in crypto industry is great news for crypto future. People will more trust in crypto because they assume a top person like Tim Cook won't choose a bad thing for investment. It is like a booster for crypto industry, making all parties be more confident to stay with crypto.

For now, Apple company may have no interest. But we don't know what this company will do in the future. I think that whenever there are influential people and known like Cook admitted invested into cryptocurrencies, it's favorable to the market. Speculators that are still learning their ways on crypto can get a signal from him and others.

Let's just look at the positive side of the news and giving the hint, and IMHO, we might see some better news that will involve his company integrated with crypto payments soon.

I believe crypto haters these days are people who find it hard to believe in the power of blockchain innovative technology, the existence of currency not managed by the government, and its longetivity. They focus much on these things and it blinds them from seeing the possibilities that crypto introduced.

That is certainly hopeful. Small companies, even the other big companies are also watching who's next to adopt crypto. It's interesting to know, I wonder how many hundreds or thousands of Bitcoin he has tucked away. For people at that level it simply costs pocket change which is quickly replenished from their massive stock holdings that pay dividends on a regular basis. It's definitely true that money breeds more money. Alas for us poorer people at least it gives Bitcoin a boost both publicity wise and by reducing the amount in circulation - as I doubt he will ever empty his Bitcoin wallet. It would be interesting to see how many top CEO's have publicly mentioned owning Bitcoin in a private capacity, or which ones have declared that they are adamantly against it.

Part if reality on where those people who do have the finances will always have the advantage when it comes to situations or opportunities like this and since they do have the money to spent out then they can make out investment freely or without any problems.

What we do have on here is that we do really love to see on how recognition of Bitcoin do gradually able to hear out or reached those people who do have some significant popularity or fame which is really a big plus for having this one.

On upcoming future then there would more of these kind of events and happenings in talks about recognition.

Of course. Most of these tech giants have already invested into Bitcoin within its early days. They kept it in secret in order to stay out of the limelight. Now that Bitcoin is popular, they're starting to get out of the shadows. It's not surprising to see Tim Cook on crypto since he's a tech-savvy person after all. I'd bet Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and other powerful tech entrepreneurs already have their stake on crypto. They're just waiting for the right time to expose their secret in order to gain all of the attention in the mainstream world. It doesn't matter who invests on crypto, as long as it stays decentralized. Who knows what the future will look like after crypto becomes largely adopted by everyday people? Just my thoughts ;D

I disagree. Because first of all, he is not just another rich guy investing in crypto, he's a well known rich guy. And even though it has nothing to do with apple, but by the fact that he's acquiring bitcoin or other cryptos out there, announcing it to the public can truly make a huge impact.

And also, maybe in the near future, if ever Apple find some stuffs in crypto that will bring something new and great advantage to their company, they might create a new product with crypto along with it. Because the CEO itself is investing in crypto, he must be into something and not just doing that stuffs for his own interest. There must be a hidden purpose, that is what I think.

I doubted they are the main reason for this continuous market surge coz if we find out more individuals(not known personalities are also investing), though they only have a small capital however their number is big that could just beat the number of these CEO.
Nevertheless, this news become influential to others and that could encourage big companies leaders to have their journey in the crypto world. As this Apple company will adopt the system and accept crypto as a mode of payment, the more it gains attention and the more it helps crypto to grow more and be accepted globally.

In my view Tim Cook could've invested on cryptocurrency long back itself. Now only he had got an opportunity to reveal to the outer world, as well as there is more legal support for bitcoin than the past.

We dont know if he had invested before this announcement or totally a new thing on which he did jump on to this market which is really a good news that big and popular people had already recognized

Who knows if Tim Cook invested in cryptocurrency way before it became mainstream? It would be a great idea for his company (Apple) to integrate crypto into all of its devices. This would help boost mainstream adoption of Blockchain tech at a fast pace. I'd imagine Apple Pay allowing users to buy/sell crypto sometime in the future. If PayPal did it, I don't see why other payment processors can't do it. The more Bitcoin soars in price, the higher the chance of this becoming a reality will be. Let's hope Apple embraces crypto/Blockchain tech, for other companies (like Microsoft and Google) to join the game. Just my thoughts ;D

The people are just waiting for some big names from different companies to invest in bitcoin or crypto and after that, there are bigger chances that they will start taking the path too so they can follow the footprints of those billionaires. I think crypto investment just needs more influenced people to attract massive adoption for crypto because once the regular investors will see to it that there's more on crypto that even big people in the world are investing, then who are they really not to grab such opportunities that will create big changes in their lives.

Well, of course these rich people would be glad to disclose there investment for the people to follow them and send the value to the moon. I know why they have mentioned that the company has no plans in accepting crypto, but they will soon and will probably send the value to even higher again.

I think he has been in the cryptocurrency world for a long time or not someone completely new in cryptocurrency and and now showing it off. this is very good news to raise the price of cryptocurrencies. no plans yet does not mean apple is not considering accepting cryptocurrencies.

Apple getting into crypto seems a little bit inevitable at this point. I’m just curious how they will implement it in their wallet app. If they implemented a decent lightning experience it could be enough to get me to give it a shot. Even announcing accepting it for their phones and computers would be pretty massive news. I think Tim Cook would likely wait at least a quarter after announcing his investment before doing implementing something like that.

It would be unlikely if whatever he does, he'll keep announcing it to the public. So maybe he has been in crypto for a long time but its only now that he had the guts to make it publicized. And with that, he'd been making millions of profits already. With this positive news, i think this will gonna boost the interest of the people to try investing into crypto too as this has become the most promising source of profits nowadays. Big news goes quite a bit too far I would say.  I would rather see it the other way around: if people who know so much about technology completely deny investing in cryptocurrencies or avoid the sector as a whole are either pursuing a hidden agenda (like Bill Gates who is a puppet of Berkshire Heathaway) or are completely stupid. I am sure a lot of wealthy people invested in BTC years ago but didn’t publicly announce it, since back then BTC was looked at as currency for illegal underground activities.  Now after the narrative changed, people are more comfortable bragging about their crypto ownership.

i think you are partially incorrect via this concept, because i could remember when bitcoin was not adopted fully across the nation and the price was extremely low compared to the current price now, so what triggers the acceleration of bitcoin price is due to people that ask for demand , so the more people is queueing up to bitcoin the more the price is moving forward. The acceleration of any cryptocurrencies is been determined by the totality of demands for it project.

Now for the first time Apple CEO have mentioned it and explained his view about cryptocurrencies.

I get your line of thought, but then Mr Cook isn't an unknown entity as such. We can conveniently say though that he isn't a force to reckon with in the crypto space. Of course, he isn't. But who knows, people and interest do change. Maybe he's at this point realizing the need for the switch. Quite understandably, the paradigm shift is a gradual process for a lot of these old folks. I think people of his calibre are mostly thoughtful about what they convey to the public. Not everyone is like Elon Musk tweeting all day long what they think about Bitcoin. I can very well imagine that Tim Cook has been holding cryptocurrencies for quite a while, but would he necessarily decide very early on to make it public? I would rather not I guess, if I were him. Maybe he is trading cryptos like crazy, but would he make that information public? I really doubt it.
