Title: Call of duty tournament
Post by: Versalife2 on November 13, 2021, 09:02:26 PM
Hey all, I’m going to hosting private call of duty matches(gunfight and possibly war zone). I’m looking for players to help do practice runs so I can ensure a streamlined experience for a real tournament. If your interested in participating leave a reply please.

Winner of the match will get $5

First you have to give more details about this and seriouly, a tournament with a $5 reward wont attract many players better to try to reward more if you really want to host a great tournament.

Also, with regards to the reward you can also escrow the funds to ensure that the reward is legit and can get by the winners any time. Good luck on this mate, hopefully you can make this thing happen.

this is the best game in my opinion, i like it a lot. Now talking about your idea, there are some points that have already been mentioned and I just want to add that it would be more practical if you asked participants to contribute some money and in the end the winner would take all the money, but to do that you would have to have one Reliable escrow to ensure that funds would not be stolen

To make this more possible, better to look for partners that you can work with to increase the reward and attract more players. I do play COD and this is really a good game, though a lot of tournaments already locally having this option here is a good one. You can also ask the participants to register with a fee, this can help to increase the reward.

I agree on escrowing your funds since you are just new here its hard to get the trust of every users here.

You should also explain what call of duty game are you trying to host. As far as i'm concerned there is a call of duty for mobile phones. Many will ask about it so you should better tell which version of call of duty game. Well, some may use Pc to download emulators then play mobile games such as call of duty mobile, ML, LOL and other mobile games.

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions, I’m apologize for not being clear, this is a practice tournament only, The actual tournament is going to have entry fee and the prize is determined by the number of participants. I’m hosting the tournament locally, I was just trying to find players to help with the practice so I can make sure I know what I’m doing when it’s time for the real tournament. I’m the real tournament all my players will be in discord, we will vote on the game to be played. Then every will be assigned a position by random number. Then everyone will pay their entry fee, then the tournament will begin. Once finished winning player gets their winnings and the next one can start. I would like to allow spectators during the tournament but that can interfere with the fairness, but that’s what the practice is for.

Edit, sorry for the grammatical errors, I’m on my phone.

Which Call of Duty?  Cold War or Vanguard?  I've been playing a bit of multiplayer on Vanguard but where I really get enjoyment is the Outbreak Zombie map on Cold War.  I have a group of friends that plays this a couple times a week and it's a great time...  While my multiplayer skills might leave a little something to be desired, I look forward to the day when the zombie experience opens up to more simultaneous players at a time that could enable some sort of tournament.

One thing that has been extremely disappointing to me about the crypto market is how long it's taking to get things like NFTs into games and allow betting with cryptocurrencies.  It's such an obvious next level partnership that will change the world, yet instead of Call of Duty allowing for betting with Bitcoin, the best we have is clunky metaverses with roblox style gaming.  I'm happy to see any progress, but the big boys of development really need to step in and take the reigns.  The best developers in the world still think Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are a fad, but I do feel like that is starting to change this cycle.

Thank you for your reply, I haven’t specifically said which game because that is also the purpose of this practice, initially it will be gunfight and warzone, however others can be made into a competition as long as we determine what makes you win such as endless zombie mode, but again it’s all for practice first.

Might be better to drop a discord link for anyone who wants to participate? Just so that you can have a solid list of players who want to actually join. Honestly ask for the fee way before the tourney begins, it's honestly a pain to wait for other players to pay when you could've done it way earlier. Just make a list of sorts and set a schedule so that you can see who's available or not. And yes, don't allow spectators, that'd be pretty damn stupid imo.

True, most games right now are still focused on solely developing well, game stuff, and not stuff that they can integrate into the real world while playing the game. I'm honestly waiting which big game (or company) would adopt it first since I'm really hyped as to how it's going to change the scene and probably the economy of the game itself (if it has one).

I do not understand why do people create threads with incomplete information. How to join the game? This is the first question. When will you host it? How will you pay the winner? Kindly update your topic with relevant information. Also do consider increasing the winning amount try to make it a double-figure amount. I do not think a lot of people will be interested if you are paying $5

This is somewhat the first of its kind here, that's why you observe that lot's of information are lacking and i think OP just wants to have some fun as well.  It seems to me, that it is medium for OP to meet people who share a common interest in COD (call of duty) as much as he does, because if it is just the $5 incentive, I don't think it is enticing enough to attract some users. So if you have an interest playing, Don't do it because of the small and unenticing incentive, but because you have an interest in meeting people like you.

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions, you’ve me a lot to consider. I decided to just message random people on Xbox and managed to get enough to help me test out my tournament. Im sorry I’m new here and don’t know how to close this.

Look on the left below this thread to see the lock topic link to close the thread. $5 will not really make people join, but there will be interest even if it's just $500.

The developers are more focused on having thier own token and ecosystem than just having Bitcoin on the game which they have no control over it. The Axie infinity becomes massive because of the kids wanting to earn too, there is just more motivation for developers if they have thier own token.

I understand the point of hosting a game like this but even for fun, I doubt many will have the interest to participate for $5.

Try to make a tournament with an entry fee. Or challenge anyone here against you. There's a competition here before where the host is accepting challenges with a set amount. I can't remember the thread but it's a Mobile Legends match.

More users are hard players. Even after the development of more number of games same as call of duty it has got its own players who stick to it forever. More than fifteen years crossed from its launch. Hosting a tournament is really good and will let more users involved. For $5 few might take a chance whereas majority will ignore.

As suggested by @Slow death making an entry fee for the participation and letting the  winner take the entire amount will be good. For this an escrow is a must. It is very rare to see tournaments with payments in bitcoin on P2P games.

I think this is a pretty good game especially now that it has been developed by Timi Studio (a subsidiary of Tencent), and published by Activision and Garena for the android and ios versions.
I think this is a pretty good thing to do but indeed for now of course this game is still under other games like LOL and mobile legend or indeed shooting games like pubg and Free FIre.
on the other hand you have to determine the type of game you want whether this is playing via PC or the android/ios version.
on the other hand I think you need to add a fee in the game for example for the registration fee and the result of the registration fee is used as a prize for the winner.
