Title: Futurebit Moonlander2 question
Post by: thebest866 on November 13, 2021, 09:12:40 PM
Hi,
I have the new Futurebit Moonlander 2, and I want to know what is the minimum frequency I can use to mine, this unit support up to 5Mh but for testing purposes, i want to mine with K/hash.

Please advice.

Thanks

Try contacting this guy. He seems to be the representative here - stefanop (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=324365)

You could also inquire from this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2125643.0) though it seems to be in active at the moment so a PM or a livechat on their official site would be much helpful to you

Moonlander 2: supported frecs in MHz

384, 450, 480, 540, 576, 600, 612, 625, 636, 648, 660, 672, 684, 700, 720, 744, 756, 768, 796, 832, 852, 876, 900

I used 720 MHz for 4 MHs, stable.

Thank you.

So basically I can't do any value under 384, what would happen if I set it to 100? It won't start?

Just in case it is mandatory to use the least hash rate of 384, can I unplug the fan? Is that Okay? as it makes really noisy sound even my desk is vibrating lol

I don't want to burn the unit.

Please advice

Why do you want to set the frequency so low? To save energy or disable the fan?
When my fan was broken I removed it and had a 60mm fan blowing on the Moonlander 2 that worked fine and was not so loud.
You can even use a bigger fan but I think it doesn't work without a fan.

Right I want to save energy and I don't want to get annoyed by the noise, so as you can see, they are 2 problems to me.

Not sure but i think it switchs to default frec, which I do not remenber now :-)

Sure it works well without fan at 384 (also a bit more), it will get very hot, but it works.

If Moonlander2 gets too hot, it stops mining (hang). This is a good test.

You can use USB cable to protect USB connector at MOBO.
