Title: What’s up with these accounts on Beginners & Help? – The "Hi/Hello/Thanks" tribe
Post by: DdmrDdmr on November 26, 2021, 04:45:17 PM
Over the last couple of days, there seem to be some accounts that are into the habit of responding to threads that have been inactive for some months. These threads are hardish to find (burried), so I’m not sure why they chose them to respond to, other than them being relatively easy to participate in.

Now the posts are kind of on-topic (maybe not all), and the content has plenty of spelling mistakes, making them seem manual as opposed to automated text generations, but they do follow the pattern of:

-   Bumping a few months old thread (or even close to a year).
-   Start with Hi/Hello xxx, where xxx is an account that posted on the thread.
-   Post it average beginner style: nothing much to it, but not necessarily a report candidate (some may be for low value content, but not all).

Since these accounts follow an easy to spot pattern, they are very likely related. Nothing rule breaking as far as I can see, but a weird habit they’ve picked-up on. See the posting history (+ above said pattern) for example of:
00blackminer00 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3413032)
zenTribe (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3412118)
 Storytellers (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3409030)
farmland  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3413373)
Crypt0IslanD7 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3412088)
Above_The_$torm (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3412177)

Thoughts?

Possibly someone is trying to reach the minimum activity for Junior member and will exchange/farm merit to rank up them. Did you see the HUGE FARM- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5197231.0
It does makes sense why someone can attempt to create a farm and build up account.

Looking at the topics bumped seems like they are picking topics by age in each category

Wonder if they are that stupid to believe that if they respond to an old topic their replies will not be seen.
But it's clear they are part of a farming operation, one which will not have too much success unless somebody really generous awards one of them for making the usual useless topic with a fake story, no danger.

Oh, one of will be out of the picture pretty soon

Its a hard question to answer because first of all  Bitcoin replicates many of the formal aspects of real estate transactions.Bitcoin transactions have features that closely resemble grantor names, grantee names, legal descriptions, and signatures found in real property deeds. While these "bitcoin deeds" may eb interesting, they are not profound!Which means Bitcoin goes beyond creating simple digital deeds, however, and replicates institutional aspects of real estate in particular recordation and title assurance (as in your case). When more than one grantor executes more than deed covering the same property, recordation acts determine which grantee wins.

LE: Lol, another one:

hi dihari,
Basically a person should be good if following your security examples but i want to add additional ones :
-Keep your software up to date always (a very good to have habit)
-Use an encrypted password manager
and
- Its generallyr eccomended to keep your assets offline . If you must keep a wallet on your smatphone or computer,do make sure it is encrypted well and only contains minimal amount of funds
-Activate Two-Factor Authentication wherever you can

thanks for the time

There were many more necroposting accounts. They registered on November 15 and 16, wrote posts in old "off-topic" topics, and, in addition, plagiarized.

After these accounts were killed, apparently, those that remained changed their tactics, and are now writing on other topics.
bakasabo, also found other accounts, already with a different, but the same registration date.

Don't worry too much about the fact that all of these accounts are a very cheap way to create farm accounts.

edit:

Another one goes into the ban.

                                               Understanding Shari'ah

The overwhelming majority of individuals with whom the US military is engaged states they are fighting"Jihad" in the "Cause of Allah" in order to establish Islamic State (caliphate) under Islamic Law which is known as Shari'ah.I order to accurately understand what this means, our duty is to know how jihad is understood by the enemy when mapped against "Jihad" as defined an Islamic Doctrine, knowledge,we cannot sccurately identify, target and defeat the enemy. ( i say enemy because im a Chriastian and my religion does not accept this type of actions like killing innocent people just for their beliefs).
The most ugly thing is that Muslims state and believe that the Muslim Prophet  will return with Muhhamad and will send all Christians to hell in order that Muslims may go to their "paradise".... (As written in Qur'an 5:51).

It is really sad in my opinion ! all these dead people for just because of some old shitty beliefs.

What do you think?

I don't even think all of these accounts deserve to be posted to prove their plagiarism. I just communicated directly to the moderators.
With so many accounts, it will be difficult to survive on the forum without being noticed. They won't live long.

Whoever is behind the account is so annoying. They just bumped very old posts in some boards like Politics and society, pushing away new topics to the second page.

I wish mods could just nuke them if it were possible.

a stupid attempt if they really are trying to reach 30 activities with that kind of tactic. I mean, bumping multiple dead threads on different boards is one of the ways to get attention from members and get reported.

also, the majority of them necrobumped a thread on P&S. I wonder what their motives are on that board.

The same picture again.
One day of registration, and there is plagiarism in every account.
I informed the moderators.

It's an obvious farm, no doubt about it. It's either run by the same person or a few of them coordinating the work. They aren't even trying to hide what they are doing. I mean, one of the accounts was named farmland (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3413373).

I suggest using WeSpam as an appropriate name if and when the next farm is born.
I am glad they got discovered and gained the attention of a few people who know how to disguise these farmers.

I agree with what the others have said, definitely a farm. It's just that it could be how they are used or that's just how the person posts or something. If there are ways to check other forums that use that kind of posting or are familiar to that kind of posting, maybe it could lead somewhere to check?

Over the last couple of days, there seem to be some accounts that are into the habit of responding to threads that have been inactive for some months.
I noticed the exact same thing happening with many account, I reported them for necroposting and tagged them with neutral tag so I could recognize them if they repeat that again.
They all have same writing style so I suspect they are all controlled by same individuals or group.
This is my the list of members I noticed so far:
Code:
Above_The_$torm
ratfactory
crypEra
_optimus_
FastLearner_7
KidmooN

I didn’t get round to see the plagiarism on some of the accounts, so thanks for calling those out, plus enhancing the pattern following cases. All in all, vail attempts to farm accounts in a manner that becomes easy to spot, and somewhat irritating to come across due to their recurrence and lack of criteria and ability to actually build any meaningful content.

I wonder why they chose to (mini) necro-bump threads, which makes them all the more visible and sus. I can only imagine now that they thought that the thread would stay buried, as opposed to being resurfaced back to the top of the board, gaining the visibility they were hoping to avoid.
