You can apply for lifting the ban which is called ban appeal. If admin thinks that you deserve a second chance, you will get your account unbanned. By the way, you are not allowed to post anywhere other than your ban appeal thread. Please create a ban appeal thread instead.

Since it is forum-related, you should create a ban appeal thread in the same board where you created this thread, which is Meta. By the way, I recommend you learn to use the forum search function. There are many ban appeal threads that may provide some insight.

Check out this[1] thread where I'm sure you'll get all the answers for your next steps (if you decide to proceed with them). Be aware that it's not very usual for a banned account to be unbanned. Take a look at this thread[2] - last updated July 19th - and you'll see that from the 67 ban appeals, only two were unbanned. This means that only 2,98 % of those users actually managed to get their account back, which somehow indicates that whenever a ban happens it usually is accompanied by a good arguments/reasons.

What kind of ban are you talking about?
Proxy ban or permanent ban due to spamming or plagiarism?

If it's the latter, money isn't involved anywhere when trying to get it unbanned. Just make an appeal and hope that you are giving a second chance.

Can you tell the forum the reason the account was banned?
This will enable us to tell you your chances of getting unbanned, so that you won't stress yourself creating new account and paying an evil fee if applicable.

What is the rank of the banned account?
This will enable the users guess if you have contributed positively to the forum that will Foster your unban.

And it seems the banned account is a newbie account, because if you have been around, it is rare that you wouldn't know where ban appeals are created.

Possible it got hacked and got banned for posting the Fake Download Malware Link in the PhoenixMiner Thread .
Anyway you have to follow the steps from the recovery account team .

If you got banned for breaking the rules by yourself like for an example for plagiarism i guess to 99% it want be unbanned.

If you are banned you may receive an email and then email them with your unban appeal.

Then provide your reason for unban appeal but if you are a spammer and most of your posts are plagiarism then you only have a low chance to recover your banned account.

I'll change that low to zero for serial spammers (who have already received warning temporary bans) and plagiarists, the rules are pretty clear on this. Chances of having your ban removed would exist if the offence was a one of and the user had no personal incentive to engage in it, sort of like an honest mistake. Being a quality member also helps. Usually in such scenarios, the ban would not be completely overturned and could be made temporary or s temporary signature ban.

The mods having made a mistake is also another situation where a ban can be overturned.
