Title: Can a moderator confirm that naim027 and I post from different IP addresses?
Post by: Poker Player on November 30, 2021, 06:52:54 AM
For those who don't know it yet, dkbit98, in a toddler tantrum has opened this reputation thread against me:

Do you think Poker Player behavior is acceptable? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5373948.0)

He says naim027 is my alt and accuses me of alt abuse, sending merit to my alt and creating fake conversations.

I think without much research, anyone will figure out that we are not alts. He writes in a Bangladeshi thread, (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg58567844#msg58567844) and it is clear that we have completely different posting style.

But I think there is a much easier way to dismantle it. Just as I can see my IPs for the last 30 days, can't the moderators see them too?

If so, I request that some moderator go to the thread and confirm that we write from different IPs, and most likely from countries thousands of miles away. No need to say the countries for privacy reasons, just to confirm that we aren't the same person.

Moderators have access to longer data for your log in IPs, especially admins. It is at least 3 months.

  • Retention/privacy info (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5136127.0)
  • About privacy (https://bitcointalk.org/privacy.php). List of detected possible alts (~ 30 months)

However, I don't know whether they will join and show data for your case. I guess they won't do it to avoid dox attack and exception is when there is request from police.

Having different IP's can come down to one (or both) using a Tor to mask your IPs.

Wouldn't it be noticed in that case that we are using Tor? I don't use it.

Moderators do not have access to the IP addresses of forum users. This is the prerogative of theymos and Cyrus.

Well, if not TOR, then VPN.
It's very easy on the internet. I have nothing against you, but having different IP addresses cannot serve as proof. There are thousands of VPNs with a permanent address, which completely changes all data about the system. Location, time, language, and more.
In general, any evidence of different personalities, including KYC, can be questioned. A big argument will be the difference in the style of writing, as you say that accounts are written from different languages.

Ok thanks for the replies. Locking the thread.
