Not that I am very much excited or really bothered about the merit I received already, but seeing the milestone of 2k next to me is a bit of a happy moment. I did not realize that I was close to 2k until I checked the last 120 days merit history and realized CryptopreneurBrainboss sent out 20 merits to reach the mark. Thanks CryptopreneurBrainboss to reward the feeling :-D

So to stretch the moment a bit longer there are some stats from BPIP (I barely use the project and tools available from LoyceV, TryNinja and others)

These 10 guys along sent me 575 merits out of 1500 merits that I received from forum members (I was already a Hero with 500 merits when merit system was introduced)

The fact established again that we circle around a few people only, even this anonymous forum is not an exception too. Thanks everyone for being nice and kind for me. Appreciate every letter that you typed and every click from your mouse or touchpad :-D

Or let me put it this way, you are excited about your contribution, just that your contribution is a reflection of your merit earned on this forum.

Congratulations to you Royse777 for reaching 2000 merits It took about 7 years to achieve that.
A lot of struggles came at you but you still surpassed,
 every time I saw other users share their achievements it motivates me to help and contribute to this forum to reach those kinds of achievements but nowadays it's too hard to rank up if you do not have enough knowledge about crypto and in the forum. It takes time to read and gather more knowledge.

Nah its only about 3 years and 11 months only because merit system introduced into bitcointalk only in January 2018.

Royse777, I'm happy to have helped you out, as you're a good poster and an asset to the forum.  I'm also happy to see that you didn't send merit back my way but passed it on to others.  With the exception of about 3 members, I don't see posts made by the others in the list of people you've sent merits to all that often, so you're right about the merit system ideally working in a circle of sorts.  It definitely shouldn't be used between two groups of members while excluding a whole lot of others.

Congrats on hitting 2000 merits; normally I don't go for these kinds of threads, but I don't suspect you're trying to fish for merits and I know how it feels to break a new 4-digit number of merits.  Getting 2000--even if you were one of the old-school Legendaries who had the initial 1000 airdropped to them--isn't easy.

To anyone reading this who's wondering why it's so hard to earn merits, take note that it took almost 4 years for Loyse777 to get as many as he did, and he's a member who's established a good reputation on the forum and makes good posts.  So yeah...it's just hard to earn merits in general. 

Royse777 wasn't legendary when the merit system was introduced he was at hero Member rank so he earned 1500+ in all those days and in the way of his contribution which isn't in the merit hunting way as some of the members do these days.

Don't chase merits let the merit chase you!

Let me congratulate you on your new milestone of successfully earning 2,000 merit on your profile. Some people find it special and some don't really matter. I want to be neutral because reaching 1500 merit once this system is introduced won't be easy for most people, so I think it's worth it for happiness. Only users with high post quality can achieve this while maintaining consistency. When I review the list of top merit, I can say that the number of users who reach the 1500+ merit (excluding airdrops) is still limited. I am currently ranked 255th with a total of 806 merit (excluding 250 airdrops). You can still get more, while I would also like to get the first 1000.

Agree with this, but it will still be difficult when consistency can't be maintained.

Congratulations @Royse777, that's quite a milestone so many of us may not attain. I mean, I have only attained ~600 Merits in the last 3 years. I might as well take 3 more years to reach 2000  ;D

Congrats Royse! You entered a very select group now, as only 112 users, out of more than 3 millions managed to have 2000 merits! Well, that's something! Although we did not crossed our path too much until now (meaning that it seems we frequent different boards), I noticed your good contributions during time. Your achievement is impressive.

At same time, I noticed also that Charles-Tim surpassed the 2000 merits "barrier", and I take this opportunity for congratulating him as well.

Both of you are living examples that with constant and good activity people's appreciation is properly reflected on others' profiles. Congrats to both!

Although, this is not my thread, but I sincerely appreciate this. It came earlier than I was expecting, but I was really excited about it.

You have gone through many of the stories on the forum, and the fact that you only got to 2000 merits just now suggests that you were not chasing merit. The very presence on the forum is important, not the ranks. Of course, this is a great achievement, I read your profile, you have been on a fascinating journey. Continue to be with us. My respect for you.

Yea, that's a great achievement, and congratulations on your achievement. This is one of the indicators of your contribution how you are contributing to the forum. And of course, this would be an example who thinks earning merits too hard though it's hard for non-contributor. I am very near to 2K merit achievement, I am just quite busy with my personal life hence I failed to contribute much lately. But always has been trying to contribute as much I can. Hope soon I would achieve that as well. Keep up your contribution.

Congratulations @ Royse777, because it's not easy to reach this milestone, your achievement in the community is obviously indicating your good reputation, to achieve a two thousand (2k) merit is not as possible everyone might think, despite everything is all about engagement and activeness, i now that everyone that secure this height might be excited and if it happened to be me i will be over excited.

I remember how I felt at passing 2k merit. It was the milestone, since 1k merit was airdropped. 3k then came easier than I thought...

What I want to say is that you're on the right track. And you knew that for quite some time, this milestone is just a recognition. And the things can just get easier, as long as there's activity.

I don't have much to say. but it is clear that I am impressed with your trip. one more thing : definitely not easy to reach the (legendary) rank  ;)

First of all, Congratulations Royse. You are the chosen one. I think you should have more merits compared to what you have now. Just saw your activities and contribution to the forum. It's amazing. Reaching 2K merits is always a dream for every member of the forum and it needs a lot of hard work and effort. Getting a few merits is way harder for average people (like me  ;D). I was registered here in 2017 and I was not active here. Also, I didn't aware of the merit system. I got my first merit in October 2021. After that, I noticed that my rank changed to Jr. Member. I was surprised. So I thought, let's give it a try. Luckily I got over 160 merits in the last 50 days. But, I believe, it's not hard for such a talented and dedicated person like you. We appreciate your efforts and dedication. I hope we will see you in the 3K Merit club soon.

Hey dude been noticed it late but congratulations. I know royse777 for long time and for sure he did a lot of contributions here in the forum. 2k merits are really tough but achieving this goal is really overwhelming. It just reflect how important you are in the community.
