Title: Which is the most underrated coin for 2021?
Post by: Abiky on December 03, 2021, 01:25:55 PM
There are a few coins trading on the crypto market which have the potential to take the world by storm. I'd say coins with smart contract capabilities are the most successful as they experience an upsurge in price at a very fast pace. In my opinion, coins like Binance Coin (BNB), Solana, and even Shiba Inu are quite overrated while others like Flow (from Dapper Labs) and WAVES are underrated (especially when they're smart contract platforms like the ones previously mentioned). The market is all about hype these days, so any coin that's able to bring the attention of the masses (no matter if it's a "shitcoin") will experience new All-time-highs in price.

Which coin(s) do you think are underrated for 2021? Do you think 2022 will be a big year for altcoins? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

I'm not sure whether Binance Coin is really overrated. It has a hype because of being Binance's own coin. We don't even know if its price has a big potential. But I don't think that Solana is overrated. I think that it is even the opposite. I really liked the project when I read about it. And we witnessed how much its price increased in only one year. I think that it has a wide open future.

I remember waves to be one of the biggest projects in 2017. But it's just that after that hype, it didn't maintain the popularity that it got. It's actually one of the early smart contracts after Ethereum.

I don't know about the underrated coins for this year. It seems that most of them have been given a highlight. And about 2022 as another year of altcoin, we'll know if bitcoin reaches new ATH again.

There's actually a bunch of overrated coins nowadays which is too hard tell their names one by one on this thread but through binance platform if you use to visit this exchange for sure you will see a lot of flying altcoins day by day.  That's why i believe year 2022 is the best year for altcoins since they all showed a good performance very late this year, or maybe it's an alt season? Perhaps in my personal opinion..

What you say is true but no coin, no matter how good the technology it offers is, will ever make it without a community. Best example is DOGE. Pretty poor technology, but lots of strong community. In addition to that it is also about timing and about larger investors backing a coin. Solana went so far because there are some very capable and probably rich people involved.

As you eventually put it: the markets are all about hype these days and people are jumping back and forth between different coins all the time. Will that ever change? I doubt it.

In my opinion, the most undervalued coins are:

Near
Mina
KALM
ZKS
XML

All projects are very interesting and fundamental, surprisingly they have not yet yielded the same profits as other coins.

Waves are still underrated coins as the new ATH is at $43, which can increase again sooner in the altcoin season. The crypto market is now still trying to survive and back to the high price, especially bitcoin still struggles to increase. Shiba could be an underrated coin since many news out there writes about the continuation of the Shiba project and want to use Shiba as payment. Many other altcoins are still underrated but we do not know for sure and it will need time to see one by one of the coins that can increase later.

Waves is not to be underestimated, maybe you didn't follow their project this year there are a few that have taken the market by storm, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/waves-ducks/ namely Duck Eggs which have rallied almost more than 1000% under the Waves network, the first time it launched the price was only $10 in the end and had a rally to $2400 within 2 months. In fact, many investors are profiting from it. Maybe there's something you don't know about it. But of course the market is more focused on developing cryptos with a top 10 fan base. For me that is enough to pay attention to. I'm personally grateful to have made more than $30,000 more than the Airdrops they hosted.

It is not just the projects in the wave network neither, wave itself made some noise as well. It is obvious that people are not going to follow up on wave if they do not know about it much, but the ones who know about it, already seen how amazing it could become. I remember having some wave but selling it because I wanted to invest into SOL.

To be honest that wasn't a bad decision and I made some great profits there as well. This doesn't mean that it was a huge risk neither, Wave made so much profit that, if I picked another coin that wasn't as good or as profitable as SOL then I would have lost out on such a huge profit. In the end I managed to make some of it back and I am happy but Wave is definitely not a coin to be underestimated for sure.

With positive thoughts I'd love to expect bigger surprises this coming year 2022, because as bitcoin and ethereum surged to the highest other coins with small value will be given change to have it's season. Holders of other small project will probably wake from long time sleep, this will be the most awaited part specially for tron, bnb and xrp.

It's not just you I think everyone expects the same surprise as you said and we'll see and hope it really happens,
I really hope TRON can be built because it's one of the potential projects,
The most important thing for now is to just follow the developments

There are so many underrated coins which will soon become mainstream as it should never be a problem for coins which has something better to offer but I worry about those coins which are overrated as there has been so many coins which are overrated and most of the people have invested heavily into them just because of bullrun and I am wondering what will happen to them when they started to dump.

I feel XLM and Litecoin are most overrated coins.

I think that the DOT coin is one of the coins that was greatly underestimated in 2021, it did not take its right at all, an important coin that has a great project, but its value is unfair and did not witness a significant increase in price. I hope its price can go up next year.
As for the Shitcoin coins, I think this bubble will end next year, it made a lot of noise and took a lot of market liquidity even though it never deserves this value, most of them are coins that do not have any real project that rely on advertising on social media and exploit the big names. It has dominated the market for a long time but I think its end is near.

many altcoins are underestimated as goddesses in the market by waiting for a while, and the most unlikely ones can still be like shitcoins. But for now I still believe BNB will give the best performance in the next year while for the most underrated it seems for now is doge because the hype that happened in the last months gave a lot of negative values and maybe next year will give a second surprise but we have to be careful with doge

I don't think so, there will be bloody hell market declines soon. The potential downwards is huge compared to uptrend potential, investing in small marketcap altcoins is a risky decision unfortunately.
I think you are you right cause now that the market is becoming more bearish, there is high tendency that most altcoins that has low market cap with few holders might end up crashing out of the  market with time. I think bitcoin is going to fall more looking the market chart. Any coin can suddenly shoot high without much in buy Investors.

Finally some one said it, these coins are just overrated and one of these days the bubble will burst and the true value will be revealed! And funny thing is  I have seen these coins rise to stardom which actually started off as a joke and today they are they talk of the day which i find hard to believe.

while others like Flow (from Dapper Labs) and WAVES are underrated (especially when they're smart contract platforms like the ones previously mentioned). I guess projects that have signs of slow growth wont be making it in this era as everyone wants high volatility!

We are almost passing 2021 and it seems like it's not relevant to the the underrated token for this year but it must be for the next year. There are many tokens in the market that are still getting undervalued just like the metaverse token and many more. This time almost all of tokens were going down so hard due to the bearish trend that happened with the market but I expect a small recovery to happen. I hope that bitcoin will be breaking 50k again and that might trigger another pump again for crypto. I'm still believe if metaverse will become the next big thing.

I think that next year will be a key whether bitcoin will be dumped or not. I meant next year you will see whether the market will still in the bearish mode or not. It seems like bitcoin has reached the bottom price. It's pretty difficult to think if next year will be good for altcoin.

Can't believe an experienced member here consider BNB as overrated and even lined it up with Solana and Shiba Inu.

The growth of BNB since then is not just about the hype compared to Shina Inu. Solana on the other hand is a rising coin in action. It doesn't reach yet the status of being overrated.

If that's your view then we have nothing to do but can you share and point out some things why BNB is overrated for you?

According to some analytics, one of them most undervalued coin is NXM (wNXM). It is a native token of Defi project that is specialised in insurance for defi, Nexus Mutual. It has no actual contests now, so it takes up almost the whole market of insurances in crypto. Nexus Mutual foresaw the need for insurance in the fast-growing Ethereum ecosystem, launching a year before 2020’s DeFi Summer. DeFi summer showed that Nexus has the number one element that all early stage companies and projects must have:  Real product-market fit

Actually there are some coins that are underrated when entering the beginning of 2021, I agree one of them is DOT which at the beginning of
the year was still at $9. But surprisingly the price continued to rise, even reached the price of $ 55 this year. Very lucky for people who bought
DOT in early 2021, I was one of those who bought DOT late. Because I was also one of those people who underestimated DOT at first, but I didn't
expect the increase in DOT to be so significant this year. After I did an analysis of DOT, I predict that DOT still has the potential to go higher and
will create a new ATH in 2022, so I decided to hold DOT at least until the end of 2022. Hopefully my prediction is correct and the price of DOT
can pump very high at the end of 2022.

I see the Polkadot coin as a potential coin and has a bright future,
so it is very suitable for long-term investment because the price is likely to continue to grow every year,
yes, let's see and continue to follow the development of the Polkadot coin

Precisely. Waves is a smart contract platform, yet it's valued within the "double digits". If BSC, ETH, and Solana are over the hundreds of dollars (USD) in valuation, then why can't Waves do the same? I guess the project's team needs to ramp up marketing/promotion efforts in order to help increase mainstream awareness. It's all about hype these days, so any coin that's able to "add fuel to the hype" will certainly reach new All-time-highs in price. I'd "HODL" this coin for a very long time, as it could be a hidden gem that'll blossom sometime in the future. There are other underrated coins like Dapper Labs' "Flow", and DASH, but Waves seems to be the most underrated coin right now. As long as you pick the right coins, you'll have nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts ;D

Waves one among the potential altcoin. This is an altcoin that is competing with ethereum in the beginning. With time there is no big progress. I remember the days when it was around $3. It has reached its ATH of $42 which is good, but considering similar blockchain platforms growth over years what it has achieved is very minimal. As said we can expect these projects to progress and holding is the right thing to be done by now.

I think Sovryn is a coin that is undervalued compared to the macro potential that the decentralized finance ecosystem is built on top of the structure of bitcoin - Defi specifically about bitcoin trading, borrowing, lending,  ... subprotocols like MYNT and Zero along with Origin - lauchpad will be completed in the near future.  That's when Sovryn unleashed his power.  It's not because I support it as part of my investment drawer that I think bitcoin will make sense more, add utility, and offer its own benefits to users - tied to btc. So far DOT has started to recover or increased again by more than 10% and will continue to increase again in the near future because DOT is a coin that has been seen and seen by many investors now so its strength has started to differ from the others.

In my opinion, WAVES is worth a lot more than just $42. It's a smart contract platform with cheap fees and blazing-fast speeds. The DEX works flawlessly with greater performance than its ETH-based counterparts. Liquidity pools on the Waves Exchange are the most rewarding, especially with the stablecoin pairs (USDN, USDC, USDT, etc.). The reason why WAVES hasn't gone to the moon by now is because people are focused on the big players on the market. ETH, BSC, and Solana have brought the attention of people in the mainstream world with their hype, leaving competing platforms like WAVES and Flow in the dust. At least, development is on-going for these underrated crypto projects. As long as there is a community backing them every step of the way, nothing else matters. ;D

I don't know Flow but I agree with you for WAVES, it's clearly one of the most underrated crypto of the market and that's sad. Another clear underrated crypto is DOGE. Because Elon Musk has big projects for this crypto while being one of the most successful businessman of the world.

from your statement I see that BNB, SOLANA, SHIB are not exaggerated but do have a strong capitalization and market.
I agree with you mentioning waves, waves themselves have great potential but have not been scrutinized by the public to be able to pump. waves seems to be underestimated this year, but holds a lot of power if waves can be developed properly.

BNB and SOL are already overrated, but although Shiba is overrated, the price is still low so you can invest in Shiba and hold it or use it for another purpose.
Flow and Waves could be underrated, but the price is more than $5 so you need to think twice if you are interested in buying those coins because that will need a lot of funds to buy a lot.
Some old coins such as XEM, XLM, XRP are still underrated because the price has not increased and made a new boom as before, so I wonder if those coins still have a chance to increase or they will still go down.
It needs more analysis to find which coin that still underrated so be careful to invest in any coins.

Cartesi CTSI for sure! Think that this project will allow any developer to code smart contract using any programming language! CTSI will push blockchain mainstream and it will definitely increase in price. The price always catches up with the utility! Good things will come around for CTSI holders..

I don't know Flow but I agree with you for WAVES, it's clearly one of the most underrated crypto of the market and that's sad. Another clear underrated crypto is DOGE. Because Elon Musk has big projects for this crypto while being one of the most successful businessman of the world.
I used to believe that if anyone wanted to double or triple his portfolio he should do it. Make your investments in waves. The season is approaching. Check out DOGE chart. It illustrates DOGE's parabolic run over this year so far. There has been little activity for the past few weeks. DOGE investors who merely believe that the stock is cheap and in a strong position to generate profits. Thinking about DOGE isn't financial advice!

DOGE is not a good bet especially for people who are trying to make their first moves in the crypto space. If you are around for some time and want to gamble on DOGE, that might be a bit different, but generally DOGE is a pump and dump that you can only hope for buying at the right moment and selling at the right moment without hope for any technological innovation that might lend some credibility to the actual price.

I don't think DOGE is underrated, especially when it wasn't designed for serious use. It's a "meme" (joke) coin that's only driven by hype. The reason why it soared towards new heights was because of Elon Musk's positive comments. But the project itself has been abandoned in development for a long time. Without active development and innovation, Dogecoin will only become an obsolete cryptocurrency. Not like WAVES which is constantly being developed and maintained by the community. It's a smart contract platform with real use cases in the mainstream world. There's no hype surrounding the project, as it delivers concrete results to the masses. Other coins like Flow and DASH are underrated because of the features they provide.

The crypto market is full of hype, so any cryptocurrency which adds "fuel to the fire" will certain gain the attention of investors and traders alike. What matters is decentralization. As long as crypto projects prioritize decentralization, they will last for a very long time. Just my thoughts ;D

I don't think it will ever become fully obsolete. So far there are still people with a lot of money invested in DOGE, hence there is incentive to keep it alive in some way. Apart from that we also have seen other cryptocurrencies that were supposed to be dead to pump out of a sudden after years of no action at all. I would say that DOGE is similar to that and would pump from time to time.

You're wrong Abiky, you are spreading fakenews and FUD about DOGE with your post. Dogecoin is not abandoned in development at all and thanks to Elon Musk innovation is coming. I think there will be big news about it in 2022. Another promising coin for the coming year is Bitgesell(BGL), the team is very active in marketing it.

Chimeras is so underrated now and in my opinion it's a hidden gem of 2022
Check CHIM you won't be disappointed by this one

I have never heard about this coin before and, to be honest, I don't trust brand new accounts who give this kind of advice.

But, I don't know why, you have managed to arouse my curiosity this time. I will take a look into it in a few days when I hope to receive a few dollars in the Binance Smart Chain.

I hope I don't regret it h00ba_b00ba... ¬¬

Technology-wise, Dogecoin is obsolete. The code hasn't been updated for years now (AFAIK). Developers abandoned the project due to loss of interest. Even DOGE's creators said it was only created as a joke (not a serious cryptocurrency for day to day use). There are far better cryptocurrencies out there with active development, innovation, and a vibrant community backing them every step of the way.

Consider how WAVES is one of the most underrated coins of the year. It's a smart contract platform with a built-in DEX, but the cryptocurrency is way below the "triple digits". If ETH went to the thousands, while BNB went to the hundreds, then WAVES can easily go north of $100 in the long term. All it needs is a strong marketing/promotion strategy in order to attract investors and traders into it. At least, the underlying blockchain networks of the aforementioned cryptocurrencies are healthy. As long as decentralization is prioritized, nothing else matters. Just my thoughts ;D

and WAVES are underrated (especially when they're smart contract platforms like the ones previously mentioned).

I am a big fan of Waves, I am an early investor of waves but it's not so profitable as other coins that pump more than 100x already. Actually, I have no idea that there's a waves token that pump that hard, I wonder if there are more successful waves tokens like waves-ducks.

Not completely sure about this, but probably SCRT and SEFI. SCRT is a working anonymous smartchain, and SEFI is its Uniswap with a great name, SecretSwap.

SCRT Nfts are very interesting. Imagine NFTs with hidden data that only the owner can read? One could sell stories, poems or quotes that only owners can read, and buyers can publicize those or keep them for themselves.

SCRT is ofc also useful for private transactions in general, good for criminals. Then again, Monero hasn't pumped well this year.

I don't think BNB is overrated under any criteria based on it's utility, demand, support, and token mechanism. I would like you to share your thoughts on why BNB is overrated.
I would also like to guess that by overrated you are referring to the coin/token being overpriced, for me EOS, Waves, and Neo are underrated they've been around for years yet their prices are stagnant.

Investing in small marketcap alts is truly dangerous, so the option to buy the underrated coins is bad idea, The big coin markets like BTC and ETH are moving down and causing the alts to shrink, so I will think thousand times about buying underrated alts in the next month or two.

In my opinion NFTD is underrated and undervalued
NFTrade is  is the first cross-chain and blockchain-agnostic NFT platform, aggregator of all NFT marketplaces and host the complete NFT lifecycle, allowing anyone to seamlessly create, buy, sell, swap, farm, and leverage NFTs across different blockchains
Looks pretty promising
It's in top10 marketplaces by volume
DYOR
