Title: Exchanges restricting Canadian users based in Ontario
Post by: DaC0nsumeR on December 08, 2021, 08:43:59 PM
Apologies if this did not make it to the right board, mods move it if necessary.

So does anybody have details about crypto restrictions in Ontario (Canada)? It looks like restriction to a bunch of the exchanges will start at the end of December. Is this just restricting access based on IP location or are the exchanges actively going through KYC IDs to determine who actually resides in Ontario?

I don't find any recent news about Ontario crackdown, the newest was 3-6 months ago Binance and Huobi restrict resides in Ontario.

Well I don't think either restriction based on IP and after providing KYC have much differents, in the end your account might be terminated since you broke their TOS isn't? Have you use Coinbase or Kraken? I think those exchanges are mainly for US or Canadian.

If you don't want to submit KYC you can use Bisq.
