Title: Best crypto trading course / information source for beginners?
Post by: cryptoblitzen on January 03, 2022, 11:42:23 AM
I don't position myself as a day to day trader, I'm more like a long term player, however taking long or short positions based on probabilities requires a trading knowledge. What would be some of the best information available that you suggest for beginner trader? There are panty of information online, would like to hear your personal experiences and suggestions. I personally obtain information better from a simple how to YT video.

Especially the trading materials that have been shared in this forum, @Ratimov has summarized most of them well. You can find it here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364418.msg58120908#post_point154).

External learning resources sometimes deviate from the goal, especially if they are shared by influencers where they have more points for promotion of certain services. You have to be more careful.

There are trading courses on Udemy university that I have tried watching last year, I'm sure you can find something in Udemy that will interest you as well. I have learned trading from Forex course actually and I find it not different because the indicators are just the same.

If you are a long term trader, you just have to watch out for the daily or weekly chart. If short term I guess that 1hour to  6 hour chart will do. Depends on which one you get used to.

I prefer to be a long term holder too. I dont wanna scrumble myself to lots of hours spending too much on the screen.

Initially, I have followed 5 crypto trading and investment courses from Udemy.com, and I highly  recommend them. I especially recommend Chris Haroun's and Mohsen Hassan's courses, as they are very thorough and informative. Udemy.com has sales often, and you can get the courses for as little as 10 bucks. Then, if money is tight, you can get the same courses for free at The Pirate Bay, Tutsnode, and many other sites.
Then, this forum is a gold mine. If you just joined, take the time to get to know which members can be trusted. It's much faster and easier than it sounds.

Be careful some courses are years old and my not be relevant. Best thing is to watch multiple Youtube channels, stay on the Speculation forum here on Bitcointalk and not invest money you aren't ok losing. In my opinion trading is not profitable long term (compared to holding) because if you're lucky you will make 20% returns, but trading fees will heavily cut into your profits.

As long as you don't spend money yet, you are all good. you just need to learn everything first before making your first investment move. But when it comes to knowing the certain coins to hold for a long time, it requires a little bit of gambling but as I said you need to dedicate some time to know the people behind the project as well to minimize the risk of losing everything after you hold a certain coin for a long time. There are lots of stories of people in the Altcoin Section where they hold some shit coins thinking it will become huge in the next years to come but didn't happen because they quickly jump to conclusions without even considering the development of another trend that would ruin their project. Yes, I'm talking about the Metaverse.

Personally I don't recommend to watch Youtube, joining telegram and discord channel because almost of them are clickbait or scam.

This forum, reddit and twitter are mostly I'm using to get recent news and to know what's people thought of this season either bull or bear. Since you're long term trader, you shouldn't hear about rumor... because rumor only for short term, you should do more research to find a legit news.

that's is one of the things I hate about trading advice videos on social media platforms. they exaggerate everything to get views, donations, sell their book/merchandise(if they are selling one)

@OP I suggest visiting the link noorman0 shared. although reading books can help you understand crypto trading, reading or joining discussions with people who have experience in the field would help you too.

Be picky when you're taking information from YouTube videos. They're going to attract you to projects that they support and you'll eventually go to like them as you watch.

As a beginner, you should try those simulations for trading cryptocurrencies. They're a great source of experience despite it being just a test-trade, still you get to have the sample and hand-to-hand training for trading.

Phemex exchange does have that test simulation trading feature.
