Title: My 5 months newbie experience
Post by: Wiwo on January 07, 2022, 07:19:20 PM
On the 11th of July 2021, I registered for this forum and the journey started almost immediately the first place I visit was the beginners and help section and I make sure to align myself with the rules of the forum. The last five months have been an exciting journey as my main focus was on quality posting I hang on to the best on the forum following the footsteps with dedication and hard work I was able to earn the requirements to be on the level I am right now. Am not relenting in my efforts to gain knowledge and build my skills. And in this last period, I have learned a lot of lessons from other members of the forum which am ever appreciative of.
MY ADVICE TO FELLOW NEWBIES
1: no knowledge is a waist before you make any post always try to make research and build your knowledge in that direction in other for
your post to appeal to the taste of your audience who are other members of this forum.
2: constantly build on your passion choose specific aspect in the cryptocurrency industry and build your skills in that direction, because readers are always leaders and the quality of your knowledge will always reflect on the quality of the decisions you make in general.

Thanks all my benefactors those that have helped me with advise, suggestion and constructive criticism you all the motivation that bring out hunger for more knowledge 📖 📕. TO SHINE YOU FIRST GET REFINE.

Congratulations on your five months on the forum, you have done well in this months so far a d that's why you have achieved such level of development on your rank and Merit, but don't feel lazy just yet, and I think you need to work more on yourself, don't join the bandwagon of those giving advice they aren't following, build your self first, grown then you can now give advice out of experience, you have potentials, but don't follow a trend that would set you back, once more congratulations.

Congratulations, with the merit you earn I think you are just doing great if your purpose is to rank up. I saw your thread everywhere and I have participated in posting on some of them, nice to see a member being active to achieve his goal. Keep doing that, share a more informative post,s and contribute to the forum, one day you'll become legendary just like other members here.

It's just good to know that there are still newbies that walk in the light of quality posting here in the forum. I don't know if this is declining as the merit system was really hard for almost all newbie that joins but here you are @Wiwo as a proof of that grinding.

I do hope that you'll get the next rank on the pipeline and keep on those quality posting as still one of your focus. Always have a goal in mind and who knows you'll get the Legendary rank just this year, we may never know. Good luck!

Gaining knowledge is the biggest wealth we can acquire from this forum which is what actually changed my life because my financial and economics related knowledge were so poor before entering here and it took lot of time for me to learn as well because I am more of a turtle than a rabbit but anyways don't be passionate about merits and gaining ranks, just focus and it will really help you to understand how can you make money in real world.

Congratulations to you as you have completed effective five months journey on the forum and have highlighted this part because unlike other newbies asking for how to earn merits, rank up on forum and earn from forum you have made contribution which have eventually helped you to achieve all of them.Gone through some of your posts also and found some really good one's which are termed as quality posts so this is appreciated.

You have made 254 posts with 196 activity and 78 merits in these five months time period which is good speed for newbie and also noticed you are posting on different boards which will help you more and be friendly with that board environment and what type of post are made there. But post about what you know and good Post to avoid spam posting.

MY ADVICE TO FELLOW NEWBIES
1: no knowledge is a waist before you make any post always try to make research and build your knowledge in that direction in other for
your post to appeal to the taste of your audience who are other members of this forum.
If you have knowledge regarding any topic you want to post or create a thread is essential because you must be aware about what you are writing to explain that in detail. The exchange of Knowledge is key to success and you should primarily focus on this area.Check how legendary and high rank members post and gain merits on that post. They have knowledge which reflects in their posting style and content which helps other members to learn from it.

2: constantly build on your passion choose specific aspect in the cryptocurrency industry and build your skills in that direction, because readers are always leaders and the quality of your knowledge will always reflect on the quality of the decisions you make in general.
Learning is continuous phase and you should focus on acquiring more crypto knowledge and then possess skills according to the field you want to progress but that can be set aside as this forum is great source of learning about Bitcoin and crypto market on a whole which can help you to build your career from here.

I hope that Merits are not the criterion for effort or the purpose of creating posts/topics but rather knowledge and learning. Upgrading this forum does not mean that you will get a university degree, but if you learn better, in a short period you will have enough knowledge to raise more money than signature campaigns.

Also, getting these Merits does not necessarily mean that you are diligent or your posts are of high quality, but rather that you are a natural user trying to learn as it will not be difficult for the average user to collect a one Merit daily.

Congratulations Wiwo on your achievement!
After a lot of posts from newbie members who complain that it is difficult to progress on this forum and that the quality of their posts is not appreciated enough, your post is really a very nice refreshment and a good lesson for new members.
As elsewhere in real life, if you want to progress in something you have to invest your time and effort, there is no other way.
Of course no one can know everything from the beginning and be an expert in everything but anyone can research something, and share some new information with others, it is not too difficult today in the age of the Internet.
You set a great example for other young members.

My congratulations to OP. You have only a few Merits left, and you can celebrate your rank increase. I think you will soon let us know about this joy. Five months and almost Full Member is not a bad result. Continue on your way at the same pace. I sincerely wish you the best of luck.
But, if you noticed, all topics that relate to promotions in rank, users open in the reputation section. Perhaps your topic will be more appropriate there. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=129.0

That's a good achievement for 5 months. Even though you may think that it takes you 5 months to rank up to full member but take note that there are other forum users who haven't ranked up to full member within that time where they are ahead of you on creating the account or they created their account before yours. It takes me months to reach hero member but I didn't lose hope and keep in mind that I can do it too if they can do it. Keep doing what you do best and try to upgrade yourself or become the better you.

One truth is that, people appreciate quality and informative posts and its great to know you do that. Congratulations on your 5 months here. Congratulations Wiwo, post good continuously to rank higher as you have the full member rank today. Your post is about how you have spent 5 months on this forum and I hope you have known many things about bitcoin on the 5 month spent.

...
I like your advice to newbies but I will like newbies to also know that bitcoin is the true decentralized coin, others are not totally decentralized. They should know more about bitcoin if they want to have fun on this forum because most fun part are bitcoin boards, but there are much information to also gain from altcoin boards and others.

MY ADVICE TO FELLOW NEWBIES
1: no knowledge is a waist before you make any post always try to make research and build your knowledge in that direction in other for
your post to appeal to the taste of your audience who are other members of this forum.
making such a good post may not be easy, but we can also gather knowledge from several sources. At least they are not plagiarism, not shit posting, and also they are informative and on topic. The post will help others remembers for sure. But unfortunately, not every newbie is aware or even willing to at least learn a little bit about the knowledge to post.
We may not need to be too afraid in this forum because sometimes, other members will also give us more suggestions and advice in order to make ourselves have more spirits.

MY ADVICE TO FELLOW NEWBIES
constantly build on your passion choose specific aspect in the cryptocurrency industry and build your skills in that direction, because readers are always leaders and the quality of your knowledge will always reflect on the quality of the decisions you make in general.
I agree with this. We may not need to know all things in cryptocurrency. We can learn many things by doing and also always keep learning every time. It doesn't mean that we must be smart and skillful in everything related to crypto. But at least, we know what we are going to write and we can add more and more knowledge from more sources.

Read more, learn more and post less. Post when your post can be helpful in a discussion. Newbies can help others with their helpful posts if they write their posts in right topics and on time. If problems in a discussions are solved by other posts, later posts by newbies (not only) will become unnecessary.

Problems with newbies are not because they have no knowledge or can not post something helpful. It is they try to post non sense ones when they don't have knowledge about that or just repeat opinion of others when questions already answered.

2: constantly build on your passion choose specific aspect in the cryptocurrency industry and build your skills in that direction, because readers are always leaders and the quality of your knowledge will always reflect on the quality of the decisions you make in general.
Learning is a long process and we have to learn forever. It is very important in crypto because crypto has fast changes and after a few months, it changes a lot with new trend, new technology, new application, we call them as new trends.

My 5 months experience in newbie is so horrible, it was not encouraging at all but with patience and hard-working I begin to feel comfort. With the moral of our senior colleagues telling us that seeing us with more than 1,000 merit all started as newbie,  with the courage I began to start working hard until the day I  got my first merit. Which is super excited.

Compare the path the OP started with yours. You have priority in making money on bounty companies. And while you litter the forum with reports that are of no value to others, your rank will remain in place.
But I also noticed that at the end of 2021, you already drew the right conclusions. The OP theme gives you good motivation to grow. Just try to create something you need, not everyone goes the same way, but one day you will receive the necessary knowledge and experience, which, like the OP's path, will lead you to your goal.

What makes you think that your 5 months experience is horrible is it because you have no much merits compared to the OP. Whether merits or no merits just feel happy that you get to find this forum interesting and informative about crypto. Keep contributing meaningfully to posts and merits will find you.
The months I have spent so far in this forum is like a roller coaster ride for me cos I have gotten the necessary knowledge to build myself and others for the future. My monthly experience here feels fantastic

Your early days may have not been pleasurable but you are still here.  Enjoy the next 11 months and build your knowledge. Your progress is good I look forward to your update on this thread a year later.

Well, as expected, you started the topic in the rank of a member, and now you are promoted in rank. Not even a day had passed.
I congratulate you once again, but already in the rank of a full member.
The next rank requires even more effort, but we will be watching you. And I want to believe that you can take on that goal as well.
The most important thing is not to dwell on just one thing. Keep posting good posts and the title will come to you as soon as possible.  :)

The author of the title has known and felt the way how to climb to the next ladder. Five months is quite a short time for members who are not familiar with this forum at all. But maybe if the writer continues to learn you will rise faster. Of course, learn to be a useful person for the forum, on that basis of course you will get a proper reward to move up to the next rank. Continue your creations friends, many member in this forum  will be happy to see quality members.

Ahh, I remember the days before the merit system was implemented. Lots of accounts were created and spams were so prominent across the forum. After such change was made, lots of newbies cried and quitted on the forum since they had a "difficult" time of ranking-up. Again ask yourself, what is the purpose on why you joined this forum in the first place?

OP, I applaud your effort, time, and knowledge you spent. With many newbies and beginners quitting at an early stage, you managed to ranked-up to Full Member despite the difficulties you faced. Continue the momentum and the sharing of knowledge to this forum as your good deeds will be rewarded. Congratulations again, OP.

Continue your creations friends, many member in this forum  will be happy to see quality members.
I referred you to one of the old members' posts to make us realize that quality users are always needed on forum.

What is a problem is that many quality and older members have stopped writing on the forum and very few new members have come on the forum recently.

User regeneration is probably the right way to keep traffic and discussion on this forum well maintained. I think it's natural for old member to complain that they don't get a lot of interesting discussion from the thread and discussion that most newbie start. They can't answer the same questions a thousand times a year, but when there are lots of quality users there, they can ignore such discussion and opt for more interesting ones.

OP, you are on a great journey but you have to realize that you still have a long way to go. If you are interested in climbing higher then make sure you never neglect the stairs [good quality post].

Congrats on your achievement. I like your suggestion number one. It's quite important for all users to research before posting a thread or reply. The wrong information on the post would misguide others. It doesn't work just post to increase activity, it will not help to improve knowledge. Also reading others' posts would help us improve our posting behavior. Please always use the search button before creating a new thread. So it would help us prevent spam from the forum.

Welcome to the gang, I get you OP my first 5 months on the forum wasn't all fun either. I made mistakes, got into a thumb fight, got a neutral tag. Those were not enough to chase me away from bitcointalk. The discussion are always interesting to read. I contribute what I can and assimilate the rest. I have been told only the strong people survive here and to grow you need to develop a thick skin. OP how does your skin feel?

Look on the bright side and don't whoop yourself much. It's a process and everyone doesn't need to begin at the same time. You ever heard of the proverbial, "whenever a man wakes from his slumber is his morning"? Don't measure or judge your achievements by OP's achievement. However, you've to slow down on populating your post history with bounty reports. Even if you want to be in bounties, you should find bounties that make use of Google report sheets. That way, your reports are taken off the forum posts. That makes your profile a bit neat and pleasant to look at.

Congratulations on ranking up to full member. It's not a bad 5 months as long as you have learned a lot during that time period. In my opinion, you did learn a lot based on what I read that you have merits that is below 100 and later on you have 100 plus already which is quite fast compared to other members. We all have struggles in this forum but i'm sure you can do it too. I have received bad compliment but it's not because you are dumb but as a sign that you have a weakness that you can change or make yourself better than before. Once again, Congratulations.

If all newbies or the people who come to this forum would do exactly like what OP did they might not struggle these days. Some people who just come in here to find how to earn Bitcoin or any crypto currency and yet too lazy to ask or do some research or even read then expecting that we just give them straight to them. They are no different from beggars if we do that–that's why there's a rules here that no begging. They should read the rules first if they want to know better than straight asking about how to earn this and that.

First, I want to say Congratulations to you, this has been a good experience for you for the past 5 months. It's true that the quality of a good post is very influential on the merit that will be obtained and the rank will also increase quickly. That's why many people are vying to make good posts. Good advice because you have helped me as well as other beginners to improve post quality well because making good posts is not easy, it needs good knowledge too. Making quality posts is a challenge so you really need to learn and keep learning for it.

Your progress is good I look forward to your update on this thread a year later.
Thanks let all keep improving in knowledge and skills that will help and contribute to the development and the growth of this forum and our self.
The last couple of months have been quite hectic and challenging but above all nothing can measure the knowledge we gain, the forum is a great source of knowledge but it requires intensive research. But am happy that I gained knowledge in the process and going forward I will like to go deeper into acquiring the necessary skills for Bitcoin mining and working to be setting up a Bitcoin mining farm in my city.

I have one believe that whatever you put your efforts to positively grows and if one is willing to. learn and be taught knowledge is unobtainable just put in the efforts and make a lot of research to gather information on your area of interest and try to improve daily.
At the beginning it not easy but with persistent and steady improvement no height is too big to achieve.

I few more merits you'll be the same as I am. But, we don't just focus on earning merits as it will come momentarily as long as we are consistent in posting knowledgeable posts. I just hope you keep being you as many people had already changed when they have huge achievements.

Just keep going and enjoy your life in crypto. I guess that was more important than the others.

Your progress is quite much faster than mine i guess, still, this is just a reflection of all of the knowledge, information and strategy adopted in the forum keep striving to learn more it's just already been 5 months you can learn more and learn a lot here in this forum also don't forget to help other members. Also to the comers and being doubt because of the merit system you can do it if other members can just to expand your learnings and the merit will come. Hoping we will see you more contributing to the community.

Congratulations to you @wiwo, your journey shows how fast of a learner you are, with dedication, hard work and readiness to learn you were able to achieve a lot in a short while. I joined almost same time as you but i guess i am a slow learner and i have been distracted too much and i am disappointed in myself. Seeing you now is a motivation and i will do my best and try to improve in the forum. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations to you on the attainment of your new level, truly is the saying "there's reward for every labour (hardworks), with all your efforts, time vested, courage, patience and impacts created, i charge you to keep it up, live has many offers it gives, as you look up to certain qualifications to achieve in live so are many looking to attain where you are presently.
Congratulations once again.

It's different if you have intention to help many other users to get merit so you really want to get more merit. It's up to you whether you want to apply to be a merit source or just prioritize merit in the posts you make, but when you have the desire to help then I'm sure you will do 2x the effort of what you are doing right now. Remember 1000 merit is important to reach Legendary, you and I have the same goal for that and once again we have to do it in a properly directed manner.

OP, you're doing well and you've also proven that the merit system won't make it difficult for you to rank up. Like most other users, you too will arrive at the end (Legendary) sooner or later if you stay consistent with the qualities you have. So good luck to you and congratulations.

It's always nice seeing a member having a decent growth in the community. The forum has a way of giving back to it's contributors.
Your 5 months journey is cool, more 5 months will be better, only if you do not hibernate. Keep contributing positively and continue to grow. Stay out of troubles and continue to improve your knowledge of the forum and skills. I am looking forward to seeing many good users of the forum to replace existing once in case of their exit.

Congratulations, teaching this level in bitcointalk is not always easy.Perceverance and hardwork has made it possible.
In bitcointalk, one's ability to make quality and reasonable post is very important, because it is the rudiment of getting merits that will elevate you into the next rank.

Congratulations.  And you are still growing rapidly you are the type of member beginners can learn from ,ride on with this good way you have choosed for yourself and your hard work is paying you that's nice.
I am certain we all have something to learn from each other, it doesn't matter the rank a newbie could have knowledge or skills that a legendary member may not and that will be the big answer to his problem.
That is why we must all be open to learning continuously, as we journey in life and the crypto space.

That should be the thing to do. We don't care about the ranks, what really matters a lot is how much we learn from here and besides, ranks can't save us. Having here in this forum gives us a chance to further enhance our knowledge and skills, not just about earning merits or going to ranks up but instead, we are also developing our minds especially in making decisions that most people had failed. And I can't even deny myself that I was on the situation before until such time I'd learn from others and through experience.

I didn't have much time to post because I have to work, although I see that I have about 24 days online. In reading threads like this I have come to the conclusion that creating too many threads and posts before you are mature enough to be part of a forum is also a mistake. But the problem is, if you don't write enough posts, you'll never get the details right.

The only thing you forgot to mention is that you should definitely make sure that you respond to each of your posts if you were quoted, as this is a matter of ethics. If you do not answer, although at the same time they asked about something and they answered you, you will be considered an ungrateful blockhead and the next time you ask everyone will sit back and watch you trample on the spot.

You can also take a look at other local sections and see what kind of discussions are going on there. for example, my favorite section is Spanish, despite the fact that I don’t understand a single word in Spanish except for greetings, but this doesn’t stop me from reading with Google translator.

It may sound strange, but I've done it several times and it works.  :)

Very good of you @twiki, that's amazing.

Sometimes I failed to reply to the post that I was quoted upon, I feel bad for that now that I read your post, thanks for reminding me, it's an eye-opener for me. Also, with you reading on local threads and just using a google translate just to understand, that's kind of new to me, but I'm sure it's helpful on your side so just continue what you are doing.

Replying to post you are quoted on is an effective way to keep the discussions going and also to provide more information where it is required, over the last 8 months I have learned a lot from the members in this forum and am always grateful for their contributions in this past 8 months of my existence on this forum. Thank you all.

The most important thing to note about this comment is the part that stressed on 'where it is required'. As much as replying to post makes discussion more engaging and enjoyable, its also an easy way to spam too. That's why, stressing out on where it's important becomes necessary. You don't go about responding to every comment on your thread except born out of necessity in the sense that, it clarifies a point, answers a question or shade more light on a view point and so on.
That way, you discuss and still get to keep the forum rules while engaging other users.

To some the journey in the forum is difficult but the ones who are dedicated and are willing to study hard never find it difficult to progress in the forum. Not all can be this serious just like in school some find it difficult to learn and understand the forum at first but with te they adapt. Your early days in this forum can be challenging and will take weeks or months to understand it. You deserve to be applauded to be able to achieve such feat within this period of time, keep working hard and the sky would be your limit.

Really impressive to become a Senior Member in only 5 months with the new Merit system in place. The average poster will take a lot longer than that. Judging by your post history though, it isn’t a surprise. You’re clearly a good poster so it’s well deserved.
