Title: Why do I feel as though I don't have enough knowledge of Crypto?
Post by: Victorik on January 18, 2022, 10:55:50 AM
My Crypto journey started about 4 years now, but I have been on and off due to fear, unbelieve and complacency. But I fully decided to take it serious towards mid last year. And I must confess, I am loving the experience and my regret is not starting much earlier when I had the opportunity.
I have learnt a couple of things about cryptocurrency from personal research online and also from this forum (btw, this forum has really been helpful). Despite what I think I know, sometimes, I still feel as though I know nothing.
I would really like to know more. If there's anyone willing to help out with where to get a thorough and extensive information about cryptocurrency in general, I will very much appreciate it.

I think it is almost impossible to keep up to date about every interesting project or hype and trend that appears in the crypto space there is just too much going on each and every day. There are already at least a few dozens of those sh*it-coins (meme-coins) that are appearing every day, but i would say it is not worth the time and energy to keep yourself informed about meme-coins. Then we currently have the trend of metaverse projects, the first few ones were very successful so far in terms of ROI for early investors therefore now we have a lot of copycat projects too that want to make a quick buck by riding the current hype. I think it is impossible to stay up to date about everything that is going on. Focus on on topic that you are interested in and try to inform yourself.

Even when you think you have enough knowledge of crypto, it does not mean you are safe in crypto market and are able to win in this market.

Cryptocurrency is a very fast changing industry and things you have today will be outdated next few months. So you have to update your knowledge every day, every week. Furthermore, knowledge is fundamental but with which, it's not enough to win in this market. You must have ability to do risk management, portfolio management and emotional control. A good combination of such will help you to win in this market.

Haven't you missed so many opportunities? You didn't even need to start much earlier even when you're starting to get into crypto 4 years ago and you might face so many moments that can make you become another millionaire, right? I remember that the marketcap of crypto a few years ago were so small. It's not even reached trillion.

I have learnt a couple of things about cryptocurrency from personal research online and also from this forum (btw, this forum has really been helpful). Despite what I think I know, sometimes, I still feel as though I know nothing.
That's why always try to learn more. The climate in crypto is changing so fast and a new trend can come anytime. You must remember that it's started with the DEFI, ICO, IEO, NFT, Play to earn game, Metaverse, Web 3.0 and more to come.

I would really like to know more. If there's anyone willing to help out with where to get a thorough and extensive information about cryptocurrency in general, I will very much appreciate it.

If you wanna know more about that and just try to install some useful app like CMC app or visit some reliable crypto news sites and actively talking about crypto in here.

Don't you think my friend, it is. I have been on the forum and in the cryptocurrency space for several years, but I find something new for myself every time. As the saying goes, live and learn. Need to read and practice more. Because here you have to read several times, then understand, and finally practical implementations.

There will be no people with enough knowledge in the crypto. Crypto is about tech and anything related to the crypto is going forward so fast. As far as i can see anyone in crypto space is always trying to learn everything that come to the crypto. We are starting with bitcoin and then more and more development to introduce the new tech is coming and this makes anyone need always to learn more about that.
You will never have enough knowledge in crypto and there will always be something new in crypto. This will be forcing you to keep learn about that or you will be a loser.
Learning is the key to understand more about crypto. So many things are not yet discovered.

You to bussy think about "Money'

Try to learn a few basic things, I bet most of the people don't even know to make a signature message of their wallet, coin control transaction and other basic knowledge on the cryptocurrency.

They said, no time for this better to make money by trading ~XD.

You'll just need to have more experience.

You're already on it and you just need some refresh as you've said, it's just a feeling that you think you're not whole with your knowledge in crypto.

I think that's normal and you just have to go through with from day to day as you're back on it again. More experience of the ups and downs and that will teach you a lot of things.

You may feel like this because we are in an unpredictable market where events happen suddenly without previous warnings. When we can't predict what is going to happen accurately we have the sensation of being incompetent or uneducated on the respective matter, but in crypto universe it's just that there is no way to know these things.
Cryptocurrency is purely a speculative environment and for most of us, small investors, it's impossible to have some kind of significant influence on the market. All we can do is to follow whales' movements, trying to understand what they are going to do next, so we can also profit from their actions.

There are so many new project in the crypto world and every project seems to be very promising at first but end up wrongly. Most importantly its not about investing in a new project but investing in one with a well detailed roadmap and erudite team. Yesterday i came across a project called MCOIN which read and see that the project  M-coin (https://m-coin.io/) aims to disrupt the cloud storage industry by eliminating the current industry barriers. M-coin network is working on the development of a reliable cloud data storage that promises low costs and security for the user’s data.

Since you said you have been with cryptocurrency for four years, you already know a lot. Apart from this you can keep eye on other forums including Google, YouTube but in my opinion Bitcointalk forum is the best option to learn about crypto currency.

I am sure that many people feel the exact same way that you are feeling, the issue comes from the fact that even if you were aware of this market you only decided to take it seriously at the middle of the last year.

I am not an expert on this market either, however just by being participant of this forum and reading the news over the years I have learned a lot, you are trying to reduce that kind of journey by overloading yourself with information and most of the time this is not the best approach, so my recommendation is that you take your time because that is the way most of us learned anyway.

No one could able to help you out but only yourself which you could really self learn and continue to read up all of things in related with crypto space but of course this wouldn't be talking in a short span of time.

Don't rush up and as long you do have internet connection and made out some google search and does have some time to read up then you would eventually learn up.

It is just depending on how you do grasps on things and remembering them and not easily to forget them on.

You didn't mentioned what you wanted to learn. In any case though, crypto sphere is vast and massive and it's really hard to grasp everything in on sitting. I guess it's really up to you to get the knowledge by doing your own research and investigation about what subject you wanted to learn. And just remember that in crypto it's a marathon, not a race. So it's going to be a long journey, but just take one step at a time and don't rush things up. And as you have said, this community is great, so tap it, used the search function and if you have a question then you can create a thread.

I would say that there are very few people in the world who missed as many opportunities as I did. I have been here since late 2012, early 2013 and yes there are some people who got into crypto before me, but if we calculate how many people got into crypto before me and not made big profits, that number is very very tiny, probably under 10 thousand people among tens of millions of people who are in right now, probably hundreds to be fair.

So, I know how it feels like missing this chance and I am fine with it. The key point is, you can be upset that you missed that chance, but if you feel upset and do nothing about it, then you are going to keep missing it, but if you feel upset and promise yourself not to miss any in the future, you will be more active and that will make you earn more than many people in the world which is what happened to me.

It's not only you and me too, Im sure that anyone in here is also keep learning about crypto. There are bunch of resources that can be used to learn more about crypto. i have been starting for a few years but im not digging so much about crypto especially on its protocol. I meant in crypto the programming language is an important thing but im interesting to dig this thing.
Can you mention someone who think he has enough knowledge about crypto? i will believe this guy will not exist even big developers are still learning more and more about crypto and various things from so many developers in the market. Many of new things come to the crypto. there's no limitation for the knowledge about crypto. What you need to do now to learn more and  never stop.

You have done well yourself, nobody knows it all in the industry. It is still a new industry and there are many development ongoing and incoming. You just have to stay up to date and engage with the industry through following up the new trends. Do not be ignorant and decide to stay a blind eye or deaf ear from the development ongoing that how you stay on top of things.

Example; Few years back there was nothing like Metaverse or NFT but today we have all this new technology. You should study the ones you can and get familiarize with them then maybe you can improve yourself. A perfect place to get all the information you need is this forum, feel free to look around, ask questions and you'll get some quality answer to satisfy you.

If you mean the technical details of BTC, then you are not alone in this space. Some are just focusing on trading and earning through it. The only information they know is just on what is necessary to know like there are only 21BTC. And some users are also just learning the tokens they hold. But they follow some crypto news sites like the cointelegraph and coindesk who publishes articles related to crypto. I think that will keep you updated still.

It's true many people just master what they need like my friend who always learns trading for better profits and about blockchain and etc. he only knows the basics. The development this technology changed so fast and not fully adopted yet, cant wait what will happen in the future. We can get friends who knows better than us for improvement if anything that we can miss.

me too. you're not the only one who thinks like that. im also keep learning what i need to learn from the various sources. So many sources can be used to get more knowledge about crypto started from this forum, news site, developer forum and many more. The main thing is you must know what you wanna learn. Im sure that there will be no perfect guy who knows all of the things in crypto. Even so many developers from the big platforms in crypto try to learn more about how to implement or create a unique thing that can be used as the next hype in the crypto market. Never stop learning because crypto is about going forward. The new things will always come to be learned by anyone in crypto.
that's how we can try to adapt with the condition in the crypto market.

Go to Google search and type in the keywords you want to search for. this is the fastest way to find out, a lot of detailed information has been spread on websites. you just have to find it yourself. and sometimes everyone also feels like you, thinking that you already have knowledge but it looks like there are still shortcomings. this is normal, we just need to learn more things.

The blockchain technology is developing very rapidly. You won't be able to keep track of everything. Better to focus on two or three project/sectors of crypto currencies. The best way is to keep your self updated with the news. Follow those news portals that are dedicated to crypto currencies (not the mainstream news portal). If you see something interesting, start googling and learn about them. Google is your best friend here. Read the white papers. Try to understand the terms. And like you said, the forum is a helpful place. Ask questions and you will be guided properly.

Rich people think like this. Businessmen think like this. Those successful people right now are thinking like what you are thinking.
How? They feel like they know nothing too that is why they are constantly learning and learning and learning and TBH, its a blessing in disguise because if you feel that you know nothing you will try everything to learn everything that will help you in your crypto journey. This is what separates average people and rich people. Rich people doesn't stop learning while average people stops learning because they feel that what they know is enough.

I would really like to know more. If there's anyone willing to help out with where to get a thorough and extensive information about cryptocurrency in general, I will very much appreciate it.

Google, Youtube and internet in general.
These will guide you in learning everything about crypto but still having a mentor that will guide you will be better since it will make your route towards gathering information way easier.

Cryptocurrency is very synonymous with coins and tokens. Activities that can be done such as trading, mining and so on. Of course we need to dig up information about which coins or tokens have future value and big projects. You can search for coin information on coinmarketcap and coingecko which specifically provides information about crypto.
Obviously, what you're saying is a very common thing and it's really good for newbies or for those who don't know it because some people who are already established are also very often using these two sites to look for coin or token information.

Nothing wrong with feeling that we don't understand something and want to learn more. It's actually a very good trait and shows that you are reflecting your knowledge. When it comes to crypto trading that is very important. Nothing is more dangerous than the feeling of knowing everything, while in reality we don't understand all the risks involved. It's great you want to learn more, the best place in my opinion is this forum here. Just take a look at a new project that's being promoted here on the forum. There are lot of technical data being provided and you can engage directly with the engineering team. Joining a development call or a telegram group can help a lot too.

You are not the only one who is experiencing such a thing because, to be honest, even crypto professionals still fail and lose. Crypto is a long process of exploring and learning so it's fine to commit mistakes sometimes but keep in mind that you should learn from them. The best thing to do is to continue learning because every day, new resources and opportunities are existing.

Crypto trends will always change with new things so we need a place to update discussion information about crypto all the time, my main guide for getting information is on the bitcointalk forum because it is factual information and not just a problem for bad purposes, the rest will confirm information on the influential twitter account in cryptocurrency.

That is actually one of the key requirements to be a wise person. All wise people would know that they know very little, there are SO many information and data points out there in the world that you can never learn all off it. An academic could focus on just one point on something, like a philosophy professor would learn so much about the topic, but they do not even claim to be all mighty about it, they do niche like "ancient greek philosophy" and when it comes to industrial age German version they say there are better ones.

That is just one topic, and professors are great at one niche of that one topic. Imagine how little we know about the whole world. So if you ever want to be wise, first you have to accept the fact that you know very very little about the world and you need to study forever in order to know just %0.1 of all the information and will probably fail.

I think there are still a lot more that we should learn about crypto, and with the current events and trends, its best if we could make ourselves updated so we can have more chances of not to lose, but more on making profits. And bitcointalk forum here is already very helpful so we can be more aware on what is happening in the crypto market. Remember that the key for you not to lose from investing or trading, is to make yourself knowledgeable at all times because that will be an edge for you to come up with good solutions on the problems that may be a barrier from making profits.

You are alone on this one, the technology keeps evolving but whatever you want to learn here in this technology the community will provide, you just have to learn what keywords to use and be specific on what you want to learn, everything is provided online by developers admins and writers, there are exclusive webinars but it's still the same on what you will stumble free on Google and Youtube, just keep the passion open.

Why do I feel as though I don't have enough knowledge of Crypto?
Maybe it relates to some words that the more you learn, the more you think that you only know small knowledge and you need to learn again and again. And this will also relate to the effectiveness of how you learn. Learning by theory and learning by doing may result in different in our life. Both are good, but sometimes will be different when implemented in real activities.
Actually, I am also not new in the crypto industry, but so far, I also think that I know fewer things again in this crypto world, there are many things new and I sometimes cannot afford all of those new steps.
That is why just focus on what we can do right now, but still keep learning reagrding to the development of crypto industry. If we are not willing to learn and learn again we will be exactly left behind.

It would be a never ending learning process because day by day you would able to learn something considering that this market is unpredictable then there would be lots of instances or situations or scenario which would really be needing some specific action to make.

Knowledge accumulation isnt something that you could able to attain in a short time and you should be aware of that and thats why its not sensible to make such act
specially if you are still dealing too early or new.

You could gain up learning once you do gain experience.

The term cryptocurrency is a broader term, majority of the projects have a unique methods by which they are raising the capital to complete what they are promising. The base you need to understand is the viability of the project and whether the project owners are capable of fulfilling the promise after raising the money and whether they are transparent in the process and answers your queries.

What do you concern about? Profits or knowledge?
If you focus on knowledge, sure no one will declare he has enough knowledge about crypto. Your feeling is normal, we must be always trying to have more knowledge in crypto. However, if you refer to profits, I assume knowledge doesn't guarantee success in trading or investing. Having sufficient knowledge is only the way to minimize the chance of losing and ensure us trade or invest properly. Regarding success or not, it depends on many factors, including the market situation and how smart we choose the strategy.

I think many people here don't have enough knowledge in crypto, but most of them won't tell you about this and maybe even don't understand this lack of knowledge :) So, it's good for you to speak about this problem frankly. I advise you to watch some explaining videos on YouTube, then choose several authors that are most understandable for you and continue listening to them. And practice of course. Use your knowledge to do something, not just read or watch.

Even legendary members here has a lot to learn.
So the OP should not worry because everyday, we are learning.
Even experts are continuously educating themselves.
But would be your advantage if you are willing to learn and try new things to improve your skills.
If you are not applying what you've learned, you won't know how it will impact your life.
So yes, it doesn't mean that the more knowledge you have, will guarantee your success.

That's all he has to do. Just forget about being complacent and he has to learn what he has to learn what's with crypto. Don't stay with your past and whatever you're feeling right now. Things are going to pass and that feeling is also going to be away when you're already busy doing your crypto stuff. It's all needed to happen for you to move on and just get on your own again to get back to the reality that we're all here trying to make ourselves better and to make decent profit.

That's very clear because the bitcointalk forum is the official forum for all cryptocurrencies so there is a lot of knowledge and news to be found here for those who like to learn and are patient with all things.

While the reading constantly here will definitely improve your knowledge on cryptocurency it is not the official forum for all cryptocurency. It is just for Bitcoin, other cryptocurency have their different platform and some even have their forum you can chat and discuss. I have not used any although I have seen many.

You still have to decide though on which one you are going to use because while the official forum of an alternative coin might be heavily sensors to avoid fud, all that is welcome here as there is minimum moderation of post unless you are just spamming inwhich will result to your posts getting deleted.

There are no universal sources of knowledge, in fact that the same principle works on the forum here, that on any other on the same topic. To give information in a concise manner and in an accessible language to tell about the projects in which you invest or plan to invest. In fact, there are many forums and opinions, but they are subjective and it is difficult to say where the truth is.

I think the same, I understand the desire to learn as quickly as possible but most people will just overload themselves with information to the point they will not learn anywhere near as much if they actually took their time to learn at their own pace.

This is why it is important to be realistic about what we can achieve in the markets, those thinking that will make a fortune in just a few weeks with bitcoin are susceptible to this mistake, when the reality is that even people that have been here for years are still learning something new every day due to how deep the knowledge surrounding the market of bitcoin really is.
