Title: How bitcoin has employed more African youths.
Post by: uchegod-21 on January 20, 2022, 12:18:59 AM
Bitcoin has employed more youths than the government of some African countries. African countries are most times referred to as third world countries because of their under-development and under-civilization caused mainly by bad leadership. Africans have high level of poverty rate and unemployment. These problems made an average African youth to be inferior to his foreign mates. If the youth try to involve in international trade, they will pay high fees.  If they decide to save their money in their country’s weak currency, it will keep depreciating. An average African youth was financially vulnerable until bitcion brought liberty.
I will discuss how African youths earn a living from bitcoin.

FREELANCING
Bitcoin has given Africans with skills the opportunity to earn by creating bitcoin related contents, bitcoin digital marketing, SEO and more.

BITCOIN MINING
Many African youths did not discover or involve in bitcoin mining at the early stage that it was more profitable. The youths are now joining mining pools with whatever hash power they have to make a living out of it.

BITCOIN INVESTMENT
The buy and hodl has enriched many Africans, especially these few years that bitcoin made some successive decent bull run.

BITCOIN TRADING
This is the most popular way Africans make money from bitcoin. Trading has empowered many African youths. But the risky nature of it like trading altcoins, future trades made trading very scary to newbies and they lose money. You need skills to win here.

BITCOIN PAYMENT GATEWAY
Now that many companies are accepting bitcion as payment for online services, Africans that can create payment gateways for companies or help people purchase things on amazon, are meeting ends from bitcoin.

EXCHANGES
The problem of buying bitcoin with fiat or selling bitcion to get fiat is solved in Africa by Africans and they make money from the exchange fees.

BITCOIN LENDING
Lending bitcion to people with some percentage interest is another opportunity that Africans earn from. Traders borrow from lenders, trade with it and make profit and it becomes a win-win situation for the lenders and traders.

BITCOINTALK SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN
Bitcointalk being a bitcoin forum created by Satoshi has given a few Africans the opportunity to earn bitcoin by promoting some companies in the forum.

Bitcoin has brought liberty to Africa.

Bitcoin has employed more youths than the government of some African countries.

Better, relying on government employment leads to a communist country, which is a disaster.

African countries are most times referred to as third world countries because of their under-development and under-civilization caused mainly by bad leadership. Africans have high level of poverty rate and unemployment. These problems made an average African youth to be inferior to his foreign mates.

Don't use that word again. Humans are not superior or inferior, we are different, some are better looking, taller, richer etc. but talking about superior and inferior takes us back to a time when the theory of human races predominated (instead of talking about ethnic origins as now) and it was assumed that some races were superior to others. We know how that ended, in Auschwitz and things like that.

Regarding the other thing you say, I am glad that Bitcoin has been an opportunity for people from African countries. The advantage is that nowadays everyone has at least a cell phone and is no longer dependent on physically going to a place to do manual labor to earn a living.

Bitcoin has brought liberty to Africa.

And I hope it will bring a lot more.

uchegod-21, I totally agree with you, bitcoin and crypto really give a lot of new opportunities to people, not only in Africa but all over the world, and many people are already using those opportunities.
However, I personally know the situation in Africa, and I know that most countries there have a problem with a dysfunctional state, lack of educational institutions, and a very large number of people do not have the basic conditions for living and working, such as electricity and Internet access.
The situation is usually better in big cities, although I hear that the Internet and electricity are often cut off, but outside the big cities the situation is very bad.
Still, I sincerely hope that at least some people in Africa will take advantage of all these opportunities that the crypto industry provides, and help their communities live better.

It's in general not only for the African youths that bitcoin has helped a lot of us.

There's even one point when it became a headline that trading bitcoin in some African countries was already the job that they're relying on. There have been a lot of traders there and currently, Morocco is at the top of it.

And these opportunities are going to keep coming for those that are interested to earn bitcoin. It's not just all about trading, everyone is starting to see that there are so many opportunities that we can learn on.

Not only in Africa, but perhaps bitcoin has a pretty good impact on anyone who cares about it around the world. Bitcoin has a positive impact on the financial growth of users if they are investors or traders and has helped a lot in this regard. I have heard various success stories in different countries when they got involved in bitcoin and it is a fact that bitcoin really does not deserve to be antagonized by anyone including governments.

There are several people I know around me who have managed to buy houses, cars and make ends meet after getting to know bitcoin. They are traders and holders since 2017 and have proven to me that without a steady job anywhere they also earn. This may also happen in your country, but uniquely bitcoin is dominated by young people compared to those who are over 40 years old. Does this happen in your country too?

I beleive its just the beginning, still lot of people need to learn about decentralized money so they can feel the real freedom of using the money. Even when its not regulated on nations and countries like Nigeria are actually against the cryptocurrencies still people can enjoy the perks imagine how wealthy the community if the government accept it.

The bitcoin community continues to be strong in many countries and this is also the case for me. Many media reports about bitcoin and the state of the market all the time both online and offline. This will arouse the interest of many people to know what bitcoin or crypto is especially if they hear about other people's current success.

This is not a start, but it has been going on longer before but the slow pace of information has prevented people from knowing it sooner. In the next 5 to 10 years, bitcoin will be more famous than it is now, but of course there will be more scam attempts that will be stalking their victims as well.

Poker player, the word I used I withdraw it. But if you really feel what we feel you will use it more. This place we come from, we are being f*ucked everyday by our leaders. Our currency is valueless, our lives do not matter. The law is for the poor, the rich is immune. Our voices no one hear, our story is painted so black outside our country. We do not have option but to bow to the powers that be. The same power will search your phone, if wallet is seen in your phone you will be arrested. If vpn app is seen, you will be arrested. Bitcoin is showing us the right way and we trust bitcoin.

Bitcoin has employed more youths than the government of some African countries.
In fact, this exactly happened (not only in that country but also in others). Bitcoin has changed many people's life and finance. Simply, this is a thing that leads people to have more and more chances to change their life better, with some activities, jobs, and also income from Bitcoin. So happy to know that Bitcoin (and maybe other cryptocurrencies) help those youths (and other youths around the world) so much. We know that sometimes, countries also don't provide enough job vocations or chances to make their citizens be able to work and get enough income for at least their daily needs. That is why Bitcoin can be one of the best ways to fulfill what they need.

How bitcoin has employed more African youths.
Some of those lists may be risky enough. But for someone who really needs it, they will take the risks. We know that every job will always require risks and related to Bitcoin, I am sure that they are aware also of the risks. Investment and trading may be those that are very risky. But, we can see that many people can manage themselves to manage the risks and still earn money.

Yes, speaking of Bitcoin, youth and African countries, crypto is booming there these days.

I just think, young people in Africa are very serious about learning bitcoin, the point is like what is in the source, this proves that Bitcoin can change people's lives from a bad economy to a better economy, for example Africa, they are really patient and successful in doing it.

In real, I'm also glad they know Bitcoin, investing, campaigning, mining, learning etc, it's a great progress for youth in Africa, they are really great at learning Bitcoin, it didn't take them long to develop.

I love rocking African youth DJ Remix, good luck to all of you in Africa.

I just think, young people in Africa are very serious about learning bitcoin,
Africa is just plagued by bad and corrupt leaders but overly blessed with a lot of young talents with great minds, who amidst the economic hardship are trying to make something for themselves. Unfortunately the government of some African countries are retarding the growth of such youths through some unfavorable policies, unequal opportunities, and bad governance. Bitcoin is one of those things identified by the youths with a potential to better their lives that the government has no control over, hence the bulk influx of African youths to cryptocurrency. Even now when the government of some African countries having recognised the potential bitcoin has to eradicate poverty and have made policies to discourage its use, more Africans are non challant towards it. So yes, youths in Africa are serious about learning about bitcoins and crypto in general is because of the potential it has to better their lives.

I will portray that bitcoin is like academic activities, you call it's attention in order when you are serious about it's domination and serious to know it development technically, actually people need to learn bitcoin before they can understand Bitcoin language or terminologies, and i personally understand that the only way you can learn bitcoin when you have it in mind and follow it's development slow and steady, i noticed that while so people are skeptical of bitcoin, is when the adoption or legalization of it is 'ot fully supported by government of the country as you said. So it's only factor i noticed that will not support the motion.

In third world countries, Bitcoin has great help and it is considered a medium for supporting economic growth because the dollar value is greater than their currency value which is turned to a big amount when it comes to their own currency.  On the other hand, it has the potential for significant benefits by increasing financial services. So it no doubts it really helps for youth like us.

Nowadays many people have been embracing Bitcoin because they saw the potential of benefits, governments, private investors, institutional investors, and many more because it has affected the growth of their economy in different ways and African youth are quite lucky.  People embracing Bitcoin in a developing country can escape poverty because it boosts economic growth.

But this is not the kind of liberty that the African nations truly deserve. They deserve more than this. Bitcoin mining, crypto trading, freelancing, and the rest that you mentioned may be thriving in many parts of the continent but these are most likely focused within cities and other towns with more or less urban setting. These are opportunities which are mostly, or perhaps even exclusively, accessible to the lucky ones.

Rural Africa is larger. Members of the youth who are bereft of education and access to basic services, technologies, and other infrastructures are bigger in population. It is among these places and within these people where the presence of the government is nowhere to be found.

We all dream that one day this old cradle of civilization will regain its past glory. We all hope that these pilfered African nations would eventually rise, stand on their feet, and provide their people with what they truly deserve. I hope Bitcoin is just a sort of a temporary crutch for the African youth.

These problems made an average African youth to be inferior to his foreign mates.
These problems make an average African to be less fortunate and less exposed to certain opportunities, this however does not in any way make them inferior.
Africans are proud, intelligent and dedicated people. Most parts of the continent is just yet to get a functioning system of government which serves the people.

Bitcoin surely has given Africans a platform to grow their skills and access financial freedom without needing to switch to a foreign currency. And the growth of Bitcoin and the blockchain shows Africans have real interest in futuristic development.

When your own governments do not offer a solution to unemployment, then people take matters into theirnown hands, and for the first time people can do it easier than ever before. However, as I mentioned on some other posts, crypto is not a solution for a colapsed economy. It can only serve as a bandage, and as crypto moves into it's bear period, some underlying problems will appear.

Bitcoin gives us freedom, to own private key then full control of our wallet and capital. In addition, it gives us decentralization and be free from central banks for our transactions. Moreover, it gives us multiple jobs to hunt for and work with. It is an open space for developers, free lancers, content writers, and more.

If you notice on Twitter and other websites for crypto-related jobs, you will see more and more demand on content writers, meme creators, graphic designers and so much more. I mean the crypto industry does not only create jobs for developers but for many other jobs. If you have good skills, you can be a part of crypto industry.

Not just Africans but every individual across the globe who sees a need to work from home and goes the length to do something about it.
One thing is having the thought and another thing is actually taking a step to do it.

People are tired of risking there lives everyday, getting on the road and pushing through to get there daily bread. Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies offers people a chance to make something meaning and worth a lifetime with there lives while stationed at home.

The best of it is, it doesn't require you of any qualification. All you need to do is source and study materials that relates to the aspect you wish to concentrate your energy in, have the required capital to start and your good to go. When capital doesn't apply, a need skill could be a way around and before you know it, your a proud owner of a few sats and that's still okay for a start.

People from the 3rd world countries (not just from Africa) will find their way to survive and improve their living without relying on the government proposal and employment strategies. People from there had become hopeless when they just wait for the government's help but instead, they make their own to find a job anywhere, and to be a part of crypto/Bitcoin is really in big help for them. However, their incapability of doing this like having no gadgets and internet connection rejects those chances. That is why only a few people had made it while the majority are still pushing their lives to survive.

I agreed with you bro, Bitcoin in every country that knows it, really reduced the rate of unemployment to the society, you said it all that when government refused to make adequate provisions to her people, her people will make a way by theyself, the rate of unemployment and low salary scale made some people especially the young adults to give seventy five  concentration of time to cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, at least Bitcoin is sustaining many people today through long time investment and trading of crypto.

In fact, bitcoin and crypto are a great opportunity for people in Asia, Eastern Europe, South America and elsewhere to get out of poverty and achieve financial freedom.
In many countries, governments are corrupt and do not help their citizens.
Crypto will help many people bypass the usual government channels and find their own path to financial independence.
Unfortunately, I know from personal experience what the situation is like in Africa and there, unfortunately, a large number of people can't enjoy the benefits of cryptocurrency due to underdeveloped infrastructure, ie many people do not have access to the Internet, even mobile phones.
Still, young people in big African cities could be the initiators of big changes through the crypto industry.

Let me fix this part for you a little bit. African countries are called third-world countries by those exploiting and plundering their natural resources. They have done it for thousands of years and don't plan to stop. The lack of education and corruption also doesn't help your cause unfortunately.

I agree with most of your points besides the trading Bitcoin and crypto part. I don't believe that an uneducated and unexperienced youth should be trading anything. A lot of the youth in any part of the world fit that profile. I wrote a thread on the dangers of trading not that long ago. I think it's fitting to mention it here > What Can Happen If You Want to Trade Cryptocurrencies, but You Don’t Know How?  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5362037.0)

Thousands of years?  Let's cut it a bit by a factor of 5x down to two hundred, Livingstone reached the Victoria falls in mid 19th century, common!
For example, Gabon was colonized in 1885 and gained its independence in 1960, they have been a colony for 75 years and independent for 62.

Now, there are two things in that list that I don't really think are accurate, the rest are easily observable so no debate there.

- Mining.
Unemployed youths cant afford an ASIC and I doubt there were a lot of poeple in Africa who could afford a video card and internet prior to 2011 when FPGA took over from GPU.
- Lending
People who don't have money can't lend other poeple money and poeple who don't have money shouldn't get loans to essentially gamble.

Quote
Traders borrow from lenders, trade with it and make profit and it becomes a win-win situation for the lenders and traders.

Yeah, the second topic I read today about magic money and how everyone gets rich, nobody loses a penny.

You are right saying this. Africa or third world countries are not the only beneficiary of bitcoin and cryptocurrency investment alike, youths and old. If you check every country has a currency that purchasing power is lesser than btc. This means the value of btc is much higher, therefore having investment in btc gives every continent and btc ethusiast edge above those not investing.

Also about the signature campaign, not only African community benefit from it after rendering the service. So the benefit of bitcoin is really to a large extent.

I enjoy hearing about how people in less privileged countries prosper due to their use of bitcoin. Some of the most successful people in the world come from nothing. Even hearing about how people in third world countries feed their families from signature campaign pay right here on bitcointalk warms the heart. Bitcoin gives opportunities to  so many people worldwide. We can all be thankful in different ways for our early discovery & subsequent adoption of bitcoin.

We can say that bitcoin has no discrimination since eventhough some of the people don't have diploma we can still see that here all is equal especially when you are skilled to work on some jobs which we can locate here. I'm also happy to see that the basic earning option like signature campaign can bring food to their family so lets hope thag we can see more camps open up here so it can help more potential people to have a sideline which can help them on their daily needs.

Like you said correctly that Africa is underdeveloped and poor and we all know that we can’t access bitcoin if we don’t have money.. do you think that the growth of bitcoin isn’t one sided ( only the rich in Africa that are benefiting from it).
How can the poor also benefit from bitcoin without financial support?

Rich people have huge opportunities while poor people are less fortunate, that was the sad reality. Whether which part of Africa that OP has been pointing out, all of us were still have the chance if we want to. Whether you are rich or poor, investing in Bitcoin seems a helping opportunity for all of us to improve our living.

If we are afraid of taking risks, nothing will be able to change. Even saying you are poor, you will remain in that position if you decline this thing (Bitcoin investment).

Some of the points you listed aren't valid considering Bitcoin isn't a company but another currency out there although it's special than the rest. Without individual and firms developing companies around Bitcoin it wouldn't be of any benefits to the youths you speak about. Bitcoin isn't employing anyone, this is just like saying Bitcoin is the key to uplifting counties in Africa. Bitcoin through companies and platforms that accept the currency creates this opportunities.

Without platforms for exchange we won't be able to trade our Bitcoin and without the forum we won't have signature benefits etc. Excluding investment that has to do with buying and holding bitcoin the rest points you listed are debatable in respect to the title of your thread which is bitcoin employing the youth although I understood the point you were trying to proved.

Still on the topic will you say Bitcoin employed the youths into scamming as well? With the raised of awareness of the currency and having to see its advantage, the continent at large saw an increase in fraudulent activities but we can't put that on bitcoin.

Well, it is a sad fact that the forum will become a source of income for most users which is not supposed to be.
We are here in the forum to learn and discuss further progress of bitcoin and blockchain and that is our primary and objective goal here while earning is a secondary one which is good if we earn and also good if it is not. What if a signature campaign will stop so you are no longer here because you will not earn free bitcoin? However, bitcoin really helps in a different way and there are different ways how to earn on it for free but keep in my that we should learn first about it as our protection while having this crypto asset.

I agree with you, until this very second, many have quit the forum, maybe it's not just that there aren't any free/selegit bitcoins in the past, because this crypto area is quite wide, not only the signature includes several other promotions that companies need that are easier to get but I myself prefer here (forum) more technical and experience is needed to share,
that's a good goal bro, we all have careers in forums, indeed the goal is to advance and review a discussion so that it is not raw and can be enjoyed by all users. Between choosing it depends on the character of all users, knowledge/experience can happen outside the forum and shared in fprum I think it's very balanced, I'm grateful to satoshi and all the team in it who make this forum so big and profitable,

Despite the under development and poor infrastructure Africans still have this hidden skills that echos across the world if brought to lime light. One of the limitations Africa face is lack of human empowerment but thanks to David chaum the founder of the first digital currency even though it failed but his innovation brought about the impact we feel today, thanks to Satoshi for Bitcoin we all benefit from today and other crpto currency founders who have made the
Opportunity open to the world and created a way of earning passively.

Quote

Of all available opportunities mining is more tudious and very demanding and due to power instability there would be limitations to Africans having a good mining pool. Other options can be easily achieved with a good knowledge about how they all work

With signature campaign, bounties and many like that, you will be given a task to do before you will be paid, not getting bitcoin or altcoin free, you will have to work, if your work is not complete, no payment.

This is what I am thinking too, that crypto mining is not Africa thing, only few will be mining in Africa, they will prefer to invest. There are few countries that will prefer to be mining bitcoin, these are countries with cheap electricity which mining will be profitable, countries like United States of America, Kazakhstan and Russia which are not African countries.

Bitcoin has employed more youths than the government of some African countries. African countries are most times referred to as third world countries because of their under-development and under-civilization caused mainly by bad leadership. Africans have high level of poverty rate and unemployment.
I stay in this part of the world, so I understand first hand everything you're talking about, and you're very correct, unemployment rate has always been high, but since the start of the pandemic it has gotten far worse and it doesn't look like getting better any sooner, I'm happy for smart Africans that have utilized and harnessed the Bitcoin opportunity that's at their doorstep, I know quite a lot of people who still remain skeptical just cause of how the media in Africa has portrayed Bitcoin as a Ponzi of some sort, just in a bid to scare people from taking their finances into their own hands, I'm pretty sure sooner or later, most of such individuals would understand the benefits of being their own bank in the network and also try to take the advantage it offers.

Having said that, despite the fact that most African governments impoverish her citizens through embezzling funds meant for the development of the country, they are still trying to stop their citizens from using Bitcoin that's giving them some sort of hope, the Nigerian government for example placed some sort of ban on crypto some months back, and I really find moves such as this appalling, though since Bitcoin is decentralized and not controlled by anyone, it's somewhat difficult to implement such ban/sanctions, people have found other ways to carry out their transactions, such as P2P trade, etc, it's only a matter of time before the government finds out that Bitcoin is unstoppable.

Bitcoin has helped tremendously in creating fortunes for African youths. Since the African government refused to provide employment and enabling environment for its citizens, her youths have created employment for themselves that will help to sustain and build their future. African governments are not helping matters, they are all enriching themselves and their families forgetting the welfare of their citizens.
The youths are the leaders of tomorrow but in Africa, the reverse is the case. The old leaders keep ruling

Well, it is a sad fact that the forum will become a source of income for most users which is not supposed to be.

Which is why I'm not much of a support of the OP including signature campaign in this content because if you're taking statistics based on the region he highlighted in the OP, the statistics of African profiting from the forum in regards to engaging in signature campaign or even bounties is not upto 0.1% and this isn't just about the Africa population at large but just those that are enlightened on what Bitcoin and cryptocurency are all about.

The bounties section has more of Asians and yes I'm a bounty mangers and from the users I see enrolls that's where the majority are coming from. On the other hand, it isn't a sad fact that the forum is becoming a source of income although the privilege shoudn't be misuse. We're entering into a period where we should be able to earn from where we spend most of other time and the social platforms are making that possible so the forum is just another example.

This is very true, especially in the part of the world where I stay, Bitcoin has done tremendously well for so many of us and I can't tell if the financial freedom is what brought about the ban from our government.
We're still pushing though and we'll definitely get there.

Bitcoin has done more good than harm to the people. Bitcoin had led thousands of African youth out of abject poverty. But the fact that  government of these nations never see the advantage of this, of leading many people out of poverty baffles me. Always seeing the disadvantage of this and end up given it a ban is so annoying. But we never relent, we keep pushing and exploring through the crypto market and get new opportunities for ourselves.

I second that really, in some first world countries signature earnings could be considered to be more or less just 'pocket money', but in some third world countries, let us say earning around $80 a week, sum it up to $320 per month is really a good sum of money and many people who work real jobs do not even earn that much after working for a month.

I am not saying people should rely on signature canpaigns, and i am very sure you are not saying the same, (they should take it as a secondary source of income), but it is just great to know that in one way or another people are benefiting from their knowledge of Bitcoin and their willingness to accept the technology, IIRC the 19th million Bitcoin was mined yesterday and we are basically just left with two million more (and even though we would not be alive to see it all mined), i am very much excited to know what is going to happen in the Bitcoin network in let us say the next 2-3 decades, and to know how far we would have come with mass adoption and all, it feels great to be in this network i must confess.

Increasingly now than ever, the people of Africa look for a means to do without there government, to have a mean to there livelihood without having the government to reign supreme and Lord over the activities that enriches them. This initiative is one that is born out of several failed government and governance that makes it so difficult to have hope on a future with the government and therefore paves therefore paves way for the need to go solo and anonymous. The best of it all, is the realisation that came off the pandemic, a lesson that most persons learned the hard way.

Fortunately, that's the opportunity crypto seems to present to everyone and no doubt, these youths are utilising it quite well. Even for the wrong reasons too, unfortunately. The bottom line is, for the developing world like almost all African nations are, bitcoin is sure to liberate and make independent entrepreneurs out of unemployed citizens.

"Some of the most successful people in the world come from nothing" This is a motivation and a real statement. One thing about every technology is the early adopters. The early adopters always enjoy some cool advantages over others. Though I cannot be called an early adopter but atleast I am not a late adopter and this sector is promising and I know it will evolve more in the coming decades. I am grateful to bitcoin, it has help many Africans.

I understand how Bitcoin has opened a space for Africa so that its people can keep pace with and contribute to development. Fortunately, this was not only specific to the people of the African continent, but also included all peoples who live in poor countries and are subject to unfair financial policies. I am a resident of one of those countries and I can confirm that my life has changed since I discovered Bitcoin in 2014. I did not become rich, 8) but my life would not have been better without Bitcoin.

Bitcoin have done more than so many government when it comes to employment. People wait on government but government fail to give what the people needs. Bitcoin have been doing more, expecially people who give their time to Bitcoin and learn it well benefit from bitcoin.
