Title: ESTCube (Estonian Student Satellite Foundation) to send one bitcoin to space
Post by: rdbase on January 24, 2022, 03:59:12 AM
"Yolo Group has partnered up with Estonian Student Satellite Foundation (ESTCube), who will help us send one Bitcoin to space! 🚀🛰️

ESTCube2 is a project ran by an Estonian satellite organisation made up of space enthusiasts and students. Their mission is to launch their new innovative satellite to space in Q4 2022.

The main goal of the ESTCube project is to develop, build and launch scientific nano-satellite missions. In addition to technical challenges, the project aims to promote and popularise science in schools and among the public.

Maarja Pärt, Yolo Group CEO said: “Finding innovative solutions has always been embedded in Yolo Group’s DNA and working with the ESTCube team has provided the perfect opportunity to do so.”

Nice promotion, this will increase the popularity of Bitcoin in the tech community, I think.

But honestly, I can't find anything developmental or productive here!!

The only thing that looks good here is that people will realize that they are moving one-bitcoin into space in anticipation of long-term holding, and it will serve as a support for Bitcoin.
Maybe in the near future, the value of their 1-bitcoin will be converted into millions of dollars, who knows? ::)

Certainly there is some significant functional science based explanation for it such as those projects which put bitcoin nodes into space.

With yesterday being the lunar new year for those who believe in astrological symbolism it makes for a nice story to tell your grand children this time of the year.
Also it is a nice way of putting -
Bitcoin to the Moon!

I am not much thoughtful logic in this project. I think this race of putting the coins on moon like DOGE, BTC is just something out of enthusiasm!

What’s the significance of this? Is it just to showcase the world that it exist or is it the way investors are getting attracted and that’s why it’s being done.

I mean I would have been happy if they said BITCOIN or DOGE Will be transacted from space to earth and from earth back to the space (moon). To show the real case use of the same.

Then you can call bitcoin to the moon.

The vast majority in the tech industry are already going to know about Bitcoin, otherwise they'd have to be living under a rock. We've past the appealing to everyone goal, we now need to be promoting, and marketing Bitcoin to the general public, i.e your every day Joe. Whether or  not something like this will promote it to more people, I'm not quite sure. I'm sure there will be a small minority of the general public who will become interested, just because it's cool, but in terms of adoption, I don't see that much of a benefit.

From the quotes in the article, it seems mostly an attempt to inspire others. Whether that will be successful, will remained to be seen. Personally, I don't see it being that great in terms of convincing people to buy into Bitcoin's philosophies.
