Title: Why Bitcoin is valuable?
Post by: songchunlai on January 26, 2022, 04:25:55 AM
For example, several people have no money, but want to play a few games of mahjong, and then make an appointment for a card of poker to represent one dollar. Poker then generates a dollar value. The value it carries at the moment is the mutual promise of several people, and its function is to calculate the quantity.
In today's digital age, the immutable properties of the Bitcoin database accurately carry the mutual promises of Bitcoin holders, which can quickly calculate the quantity and transfer each other.
As a final note, Bitcoin is hard to come by, and if 21 million people buy one each, they will never be able to buy it again.

When I read the title, I thought you were asking us why it is valuable but I see that you are rather telling us why it is valuable. I don't know where you get your example from, but the only thing you are right about is the 21 million limit. It is as simple as that it is the best digital system to store and transfer value, especially in large quantities, decentralized, autonomous and resistant to censorship.

So Bitcoin is not a beloved shell that has been worn for a long time, nor is it like a beloved rare metal with bling. It is an interesting scientific and technological product whose unique properties are waiting to be understood and used. Until people fall in love with it and find the right dependence on it.

something that is modern and unique, so that it is in great demand by everyone, let alone by everyone even at the world level, then it will be very valuable. bitcoin has now become the spearhead of the speaker of investors in the world, where they have switched from local stock investors to digital money investors and bitcoin is a popular trend in the investment media today.

nope you cannot wear Bitcoin around your neck and it isnt something you can make
jewellery from that is what Gemstones and rare metals are used for.

People already are in love with Bitcoin, I'm sure you are aware of many of them....
here on the forum. Pretty much all of the currently mined Bitcoin is bought and owned
by someone. Not everyone in the world owns or wants to own Bitcoin but its doing
very well with the current level of interest.

I am confused with the logical example you've given.

The reason of it being valuable is how it is mined. Sum all of the power needed for one bitcoin to be mined and there goes the value of it. And there's no need to wait for people to become in loved with it.

Long time ago, there goes the people who fell in loved with it already and can't resist to leave it and that's why they've remain and that's why we're here too.

In any form of exchange we do around the world today, we do so simply because, we, you, value the next product as such. So, what we truly exchange is values. The value of bitcoin operates based on the laws of demand and supply. Limited supply and high demand gives it its value but to note, there could be other digital asset that are limited too but still, there isn't any much demand on them and you ask why?

That's where the uniqueness of bitcoin comes in. As the only digital currency that is truly decentralised and has come to be an asset or store of value. Hence, its more precious to own than gold with the number of users accord to it and it has started a line in the digital field for a currency of the virtual life.

Bitcoin is no longer just a cryptocurrency, it is a symbol and will become even more valuable over time, given its limited supply and increasing mining difficulty. The very fact that the topic has become so popular in such a short time the market began to matter. This is strong evidence of the value and inevitability of the use of cryptocurrencies in the future. Therefore, it makes no sense to deny the inevitable - bitcoin is with us for a long time or perhaps forever.

Bitcoin is valuable because it has shown, thanks to the underlying blockchain, that a decentralized digital currency is possible. As long as there are enough independent "watchers" of the blockchain system then there is an inbuilt protection against attacks on the integrity of the blockchain, making it a global system based on transparency. That leads to another point - there is no artificial injection of unknown funds into the system, because every coin is traceable and this in another corruption reducing benefit. The last reason I'd give is the fact that lots of greedy banks and financial institutions around the world charge excessive fees just because they can, or were traditionally able to get away with it, so anything that can cut them out of the equation can create huge savings for the end users.

We already know the many reasons why Bitcoin can be valuable and so far I see no new factor being added. We don't have to invent new stories whether they can be real or not to push Bitcoin to anyone. Eventually, Bitcoin will continue to rise in value no matter how many dips it will encounter as time goes on. In fact, one factor why there are many people into Bitcoin is because it is so volatile...it can go down yes anytime it wants to but it can also go up anytime which can be surprising anybody. Bitcoin is a great opportunity to ride with the new money...but of course there are some risks that one has to face and has to endure especially during correction days.

actually there are certain reasons that make bitcoin valuable and make the value of bitcoin so high, maybe one of them is public trust in bitcoin, the public believes that bitcoin is safe and can be profitable, technology is also a trigger to make bitcoin more valuable, because millennial children spend their time to play on the internet, bitcoin is also a rare item, a new discovery that has a limited supply, in my personal opinion maybe because of all those reasons that make bitcoin so valuable and increasingly popular in the community..

I found no correlation between Title and topic content, Or maybe I failed to understand. The title of your topic asks Why Bitcoin is valuable, but the contents contain a different plot. After I read the whole topic, you even answered the question you asked in the topic title, it's as if you're telling us why Bitcoin is priced so high.
One of the reasons bitcoin is valuable because of its scarcity, Satoshi only created 21 million bitcoin, market law of supply and demand is also very supportive, If the supply is small, but the demand is large, the price of Bitcoin will be more expensive.

As a final note, Bitcoin is hard to come by, and if 21 million people buy one each, they will never be able to buy it again.
When the total supply of 21 million bitcoins has been exhausted, of course this will become a scarcity in the market so that it will make the price of bitcoin more valuable because the demand in the market will increase while the supply is less, this is certainly good for bitcoin holders because they will get big profits when selling it.

Bitcoin is valuable because is a decentralized currency that is real to humanity to use to improve all businesses and investment in the world. It has eliminated many errors from world economy and also reduced unemployment from the community. Many countries that adopted bitcoin some years ago are really enjoying the benefits of decentralized currency.
Bitcoin is valuable to humanity that know how to use it positively in the community.

Why is bitcoin valuable? Because bitcoin is limited to 21 million and it traded at $36k, it will change from time to time. The value that bitcoin caries is from the supply or demand of people who want to buy bitcoin at a high or low price. While some whales still hold their bitcoin without wanting to sell half or even all amounts, that will change the value. The value of bitcoin can change, but the number of bitcoin is not changing, making bitcoin itself rare and making many people want to have many bitcoins to be sold at a high price.

That is what I get after trying to connect the title and the content. But maybe I am wrong about this.

Title: Re: Why Bitcoin is valuable?

Why is bitcoin valuable? Due to the limited supply of bitcoins which has a supply limit of only 21 million bitcoins, compared to Fiat or unlimited banknotes which are produced daily and are also easy to counterfeit.
And that's what makes bitcoin so valuable because it's in short supply and scarce, besides that it can't be counterfeited and corrupted, and it's more secure and convenient than fiat.
and the price of bitcoin is determined by supply and demand and is also very volatile, where the price can change significantly from time to time and the price of bitcoin can be very expensive and vice versa.

Op, I guess your title was intended to be a statement and not a question.
So, you can edit the post and remove the question mark, it will make your post more correct.
Yes, it is true that one of the reasons bitcoin is valuable is that it has fixed supply.
Also, another reason that bitcoin is valuable is because we make it to be valuable. If everyone of us decides to disbelief and desert bitcoin. We all know that it will crash to naught.

Title: Re: Why Bitcoin is valuable?

Additionally to what the OP input about the limited supply, Bitcoin is the first coin that introduced the use of Blockchain. Simply Bitcoin starts everything in crypto world. Other tokens like Ethereum are just an improved version of Bitcoin Blockchain but no one can beat the fact that Bitcoin is the first to be known in crypto.

Limited supply is just an extra feature that makes it valuable since there's a lot of coin/tokens out there that has lesser supply than Bitcoin yet it has a lower value so if the limited supply is only what we are talking about to determine how valuable a token then tokens like YFI should have a greater value than BTC right now.

This is a theoretical fantasy, which will never happen in reality.
Anyway, assuming that your fantasy happens, why do you think those 21 million people will buy one Bitcoin?
I think that the main reason the people are buying BTC is to sell it at a higher price.
There's no point for 21 million people to buy 21 million Bitcoins and keep the BTC in their wallets forever.
That's why your assumption about the people never being able to buy BTC again is wrong.
I'm not going to waste my time explaining why Bitcoin has value. This has been explained multiple times in various forum posts.

Exactly one of bitcoins most valuable features is its scarcity. The fact that only 21 million will ever be made..if you think about how many people are in this world, it just goes to show how truly scarce it is versus so many other coins (or even the US dollar).  All these coins with unlimited supplies are just silly.

when you say 21 million people buy 1 bitcoin each person actually in this case it is impossible to do.
first bitcoins are currently still being mined and it is still quite a while for them to finish mining.
secondly, if they buy it, then what is it for? we are in bitcoin because this is a profitable investment for the future (for me) and when it is for sure when the price in bitcoin matches what I want of course I will sell my bitcoin and it will definitely happen to someone else also because there really are a lot of people who would like that and I'm not the only one doing it

Bitcoin is valuable because it as a limited supply and there is a demand for it. There is a demand because people can use bitcoin as a means of exchange( an act of giving one thing and receiving another).

Well, forget all of them OP as they are not the cause for Bitcoin becoming valuable.

It is simple, people will invest in Bitcoin for some reason but the top of it is to gain profit. We can't assume that those people who no interest in Bitcoin will invest, definitely no and they keep rejecting this opportunity rather than risking their money. As for them, they will enjoy other stuff as you have mentioned rather than talking and searching about crypto.

I agree with you, Bitcoin does have value because there is trust from investors in Bitcoin. This means that with supply and demand it will make
Bitcoin valuable, imagine if there were no investors who wanted to buy Bitcoin, then Bitcoin has no value at all. Therefore it is very important
Bitcoin has the trust of Investors. Bitcoin is highly trusted because it is different from fiat which is controlled by the government. Bitcoin is
a decentralized currency, we can carry out financial transactions without the need to go through a third party. Then the very limited number of
Bitcoins also makes Bitcoin more valuable, in contrast to fiat which can be printed at any time by the government. That's why the popularity and
demand for Bitcoin continues to increase, because Bitcoin provides benefits that fiat cannot provide.

This is the main reason because it wouldnt really get any value if it doesnt have this thing.Although there are lots of criticisms on which bitcoin had able to get but considering
that we are on decade plus now on its existence then it do proves out that there's really a potential that it could really go into further years to come. This isnt only talking
about profit making but also into its real use case relevance which most people do really been eyeing on.

the limited number of bitcoins makes it very valuable, only 21 million are available and can't be added or subtracted. Nowadays it is getting more and more difficult to get bitcoin by mining, it will cost a lot and the tools required.
Bitcoin is the first decentralized digital currency that is very valuable and has an increasing value. Many new investors are starting to enter as well as many adoptions made by the world's big companies. this proves bitcoin is highly valued. not just speculation.

Bitcoin is valuable because 60% of the total market cap is invested only in bitcoin and when so many people trust bitcoin this means that it is valuable  :)
Actually, bitcoin is widely accepted everywhere and it is a decentralized cryptocurrency. Another major reason is that bitcoin supply is fixed, thus no one can produce more bitcoins to increase its supply and reduce its price.

Let say that all 21 million bitcoin are mined, I still do not think that 21 million people can buy 1 bitcoin each because when the time comes when the 21 million bitcoin have all been mined, their value is also going to be very expensive and yes the op is right when he say that people cannot buy anymore after owning 1 bitcoin, because they will now be broke or full of debts after that lol but seriously if what the op means is about the circulation or obtaining a new bitcoin then its still possible because like you said most of us here that involved in bitcoin are only for the profit, we do not hold bitcoin forever so the bitcoin still circulates from one person to the other.

Bitcoin is indeed valuable, it gives freedom to each individual in regulating the monetary system. The high adrift value also makes it known to many people and has even become a target here and there. Although the value of Bitcoin is uncertain, there is always hope of profiting from it. The important thing is that we are willing to wait patiently for the right time.Usually many are trapped by their own emotions, therefore I will try to learn from these mistakes.

Simple, Bitcoin becomes valuable because people are willing to exchange it for real goods or services, and even willing to exchange it for cash. that is the point of a valuable and rare asset, it's just a matter of time bitcoin will be a difficult asset to get in the future

Few things to consider :
1. It's a store of value
2. Unit of exchange
3. Scarcity
4. High demand
5. Is more functional and have extreme mobility as well
6. Its an exception to the traditional currencies and assets

There are so many things that gives bitcoins their value but at the end of the day I think there is a personal aspect to it as well which enables the user to use it without boundaries in contrast to the traditional currencies and investments.

To be honest, I also got the same feeling when OP phrased his title as I was expecting it to be a question, but it turned out that it was some valuable information instead.

But like you mentioned, the reason on why BTC is considered to be valuable is due to its inflationary value and limited supply on the market. Having only a 21 million in supply means that its price is bound my inflation, and supply-demand. Considering that BTC is used as a form of currency that deletes the use of a third-party in handling our transactions, people can safely transact on the BTC network money from one person to another, without worrying too much on your identity.

Yes, I agreed that Bitcoin deletes the use of a third party, but still, it has some weaknesses that's why we have to rely on paper money till now.
You know Bitcoin is not a sovereign currency that's why it's usable between a short circle not worldwide, and chargeback is another big factor to use bitcoin in real life.

I think the real value of Bitcoin insists on its decentralization nature, people can hold their funds anonymously that's why they feel interested to move into Bitcoin. And most of them are invested in Bitcoin hoping to get rewards from Bitcoin.

For every people buying and holding a single bitcoin, the price will keep going up to a point that it will be almost impossible to buy a whole bitcoin with their current wealth. And with the price increasing, others that have bought will want to sell theirs to take their profit. So there will still be more bitcoins for people to buy. What would they do with the bitcoin if they never sell or trade it for goods? There would be no use holding it.

Even if Bitcoin had no utility or tangible value, its extreme rarity would still make it valuable to collectors. People like to collect all sorts of things, and it’s the same for scarce goods: the hunt for rarity is an intrinsic part of the fun, even if the item in question has no real-world use. For instance, super rare baseball cards are a collector's dream. Not only do they usually sell for huge sums at auction, they can even fetch the price of a new home for someone who owns a large collection. So it's not like a lack of intrinsic value is going to prevent Bitcoin from being valued by collectors.

Bitcoin is valuable because of its rarity where it has a limited supply. In the case of cryptocurrencies, most crypto assets have a maximum supply limit. For example bitcoin (BTC) which has a supply limit of 21 million bitcoins. Many analysts explain that this maximum supply makes crypto assets like Bitcoin more valuable than other assets.

Crypto assets cannot be added to the wishes of their creators like fiat money nor can they be suddenly discovered in large quantities like gold. Therefore, crypto assets will always have a rare nature because of this limited number. This scarcity is one of the reasons why crypto assets are valuable and have value.

Bitcoin is valuable coz you trust bitcoin and i Trust bitcoin. We all believe in Bitcoin.  And we have accepted Bitcoin as a future asset. And we can buy products according to demand using bitcoin.  And we can convert Bitcoin into Fiat money. That's why bitcoin is valuable.

You ask this question that (why bitcoin is valuable)
Why you invest your money in Bitcoin? And why And why do you want to acquire and save bitcoin? where you Don't know why bitcoin valuable. Lol :D
Bitcoin is valuable in the eyes of the right people, that's what I want to say. I agree with you, when someone dares to invest their money in bitcoin it means that person believes that bitcoin is valuable and has something profitable as an asset they hold. How can anyone invest in something when he doesn't believe in it, I don't think there will be anyone like that.

Quite a simole yet good explanation on what makes bitcoin valuable. This will he a great help for the newbies out there. One thing to take note of though is that there is akey difference which is that poker cards(from the example) can be held physically whereas bitcoin or any crypto currency out there cannot be held physically. It's important to consider this fact because people, specially the ones who are roo lazy to learn about crypto currencies tend to feel more secured holding physical asset rather than digital assets.

strange and confused question should explain how.

bitcoin is valuable because it has become a legal tender other than dollars that can reach the whole world, and the advantage of btc with dollars is that it becomes an object that can be invested without being manipulated by certain countries.
that is my opinion.

We cannot blame to be honest because that's what it is wherein maybe they don't believe in crypto especially bitcoin. As the matter of fact even you if you don't know how valuable bitcoin you will not accept it as well. Lol for me it's valuable than any asset because of the simple principle. For example buy low and sell high..   ;D

Trust is the main thing that makes bitcoin very valuable today, bitcoin has been trusted by many people as a good investment asset and we all believe that one day Bitcoin will become the currency used by many people around the world to make transactions services and goods, that's why bitcoin is very valuable today, even though bitcoin has a minimal supply but without trust in the future of bitcoin, of course we will all be reluctant to invest or hold bitcoin.
And I don't know why many were still rejecting Bitcoin and even ignoring it even though it was pretty obvious that this form of investment is truly profiting than the stock market. The heck about these people is too convinced about fake news and the Ponzi scheme which literally was wrong. But yeah, it was their perceptions and to think that way. Well, we are too lucky that we don't think that way and we do appreciate Bitcoin not only because of its growing value but also because we gain profit.

Sometimes people who reject Bitcoin or even hate Bitcoin, it's because they get misleading information and end up misunderstanding Bitcoin.
That's the importance of learning Bitcoin from a trusted source, so we can really understand Bitcoin properly. This is the task of all of us who
understand Bitcoin properly must educate at least the environment around us, so more people will understand that Bitcoin does have many benefits
that provide convenience in human life. Because if someone's understanding is wrong, even though Bitcoin is proven to be profitable, people are
still not interested in investing in Bitcoin.

Steady growth is not the answer. Growth is something that happens when there is a demand, and if there is no demand taking place in the market , then there wouldn’t be a steady growth. So, why you are seeing the growth in the market today is because of the fact that we have a steady demand taking place in the market.

Look at gold as an example of the metals that you have talked about, gold market steady keeps growing over so many years, why? Because we all see it as a precious metal, and we feel that it has value, so we demand for it. It doesn’t grow magically, it’s demand pushing it.

It is the volatile market that makes bitcoin valuable. Through the market volatility it is possible to make profit out of buy low and sell high. This profiting creates an increase in the demand for the limited supply asset. If it is all about steady growth, then it could've been valued less than what it is valued now.

Gold is metal backed, and through some means it's demand got pushed. The major reason is the backing of fiat currencies done with gold. Even if bitcoin have got metal backing the value might never been this high, because to create demand for some particular metal won't happen all of the sudden. Through years of history gold have reached the present position.

What gave "shells" and "large carved round stones" their value ...back in the day? It's rarity ...and also the work that was put in to create it. Well, a lot of energy and money goes into Bitcoin mining and as you said... it has a limited supply, so it makes it desirable.  ;)

The same goes for something like Gold & Silver and other precious minerals and commodities. It is simple.. if there is a demand for something and if there are a limited supply... people will pay higher prices for it. (Also add to that... Bitcoin grants them easy and cheap international transmittance)  ;)

Bitcoin is valuable because there are people who want to buy it.  This value is derived from Bitcoin's blockchain being a publicly visible decentralized and immutable ledger with the utmost security of available options.

The game theory at play with the mining aspect has also led to massive investment.  This investment was made by major players globally and they will protect their investment by purchasing the underlying currency if needed.  This leads to a feedback loop of sorts that will continue to cause the price to rise until one day there has been so much investment made that needs to be recouped, that it surpasses the funds available to prop up the underlying currency, and it crashes.  No idea if this will happen in 5 years, 25 years, or 150 years, but it seems inevitable from a long term view.  Technology will continue to present better solutions to the problems that Bitcoin fixes, and at some point I believe that will overcome the network and first mover effects.  Until then, dance while the music is playing.

yes bitcoin can lose its top position for many reasons in the future
a. devs change the rules of the 2,099,999,997,690,000(sats) shareable units to become 1000x more (yep they're thinking about doing this)
    (i) not only will it break the shareable unit limit. (under the guise that 100,000,000,000 shareable units is still 1btc)
(ii) not only will it extend the halving timescale by another 40 years
(iii) but it will make a 6.25 legacy value (62500000 units). appear as a different amount unless more cludgy code is added to separate/convert
b. mining reward/transaction income plateau where by other altcoins then take on the asics that are not profiting
    (i) not only dropping bitcoins difficulty on the exodus
(ii) not only losing the underlying value(cost of coin maintenance)
c. offchain solutions exodus full node users in preference for non-maintaining bitcoin because they are busy using altnet lite wallets instead
   (i) not only centralising the lesser collective of full nodes to only merchants
(ii) not only making users not care about securing the backbone of the network
(iii) not only putting increased bandwidth pressure on the remaining fullnodes to service the remaining network full nodes

Bitcoins are valuable because it is worth it and as we know they are limited in number. It's also supported by blockchain technology, it will be better and safer, that's why nowadays people prefer Bitcoin. besides that, the selling value of Bitcoin is also high even though the crypto market goes up and down but Bitcoin remains crypto that is loved by many people and remains the top spot. Therefore, manage your Bitcoin well so that we can also use it well and get profitable results from it, it will not disappoint.

The simple reason is demand and supply in the market as per the rule of economics nothing else.Something gains it's value from it's demand, usage and supply. It is best decentralised source of funds whose supply is limited to only 21 million which makes its scarce and now the rest Bitcoins will take another 118 years to mine so just imagine the prices in future.

Lol Gold having steady growth? yeah it is going up and up but there are years that this experience fall just like crypto, though it is less volatile than Bitcoin but still volatility is indeed in both.

And unexpectedly, it turns out that the more people who are interested in Bitcoin, the more people who want to have it.
Seeing the very high demand for Bitcoin, Bitcoin holders then offered their Bitcoins at very high prices.

Only a few people had joined the community and knows Bitcoin in the early days until such time that Bitcoin price surging high and it gets attention to the public. And the only thing that makes this valuable is its underlying price hike that helps people become profitable. And if not will be going to happen, no doubts that people still ignore Bitcoin.
As we valued Bitcoin now and in the future, the more we can see such a huge development and to expect that the demand will still getting high.

I just looked at one expert - an economist who answered this question today. It was interesting to listen to - I’ll say right away that a person does not deal with cryptocurrency, so he looks at all this as if from the other side of the river and reflects on what he sees. And this is what he says, his main idea is that the more distrust of citizens in the governments of their countries (in fact, the state), the higher the demand for cryptocurrency and the less for national classical finance and their instruments. It is also obvious that a deposit in a bank will never give such a return as a "deposit" in cryptocurrency. I think that's why banks resisted this trend for a long time.

Yes, the value lies in the people. In fact that is the same for everything if you should look how they work, they have value because we the people say that it has value. When people lose faith in something, then it wouldn’t have any value any longer. Bitcoin is not the only thing that has value because of demand and supply, that is the same thing with the USD, and other currencies, they have value because of there is the demand for it, if there is no demand for it, then that value wouldn’t be there.

So, it’s quite funny when some people would come out and say that Bitcoin doesn’t have any true value, they are forgetting that the true value of everything lies in the demand for it.

Why does bitcoin have value? Let's ask the same thing about US dollars. Why are they worth money when they are only pieces of paper, or in many cases they are completely digital! Well the short answer is because a bunch of people agree that it had value. That's it. There's a limited number of them, and people want them, so they have value. If no one wanted bitcoins, they wouldn't have any value. But people do want them! It's really that simple.  Anyway, it's worth checking DAO maker, they let you participate without staking any platform tokens but the pool would be competitive. This would disrupt the launchpad model. Going back, why would it work as a currency? Because you can send bitcoin to other people. You can trade bitcoin for goods and services. Anything can be a currency really. People used to use chocolate and antlers for currency! But its a lot more convenient to use something that can be sent over the internet. It's a lot easier to use!

You guys make a point but despite the advantages of Bitcoin over fiat currency mentioned above. Bitcoin was valuable because the community believe/trust in its future and is community-driven, decentralized, and it been unaffected by censorship.
These are basically the reason the Feds was unable to shut down the Bitcoin system just like they did with e-Gold then.

why bitcoin is valuable, the answer is simple, bitcoin is the latest discovery that can be said to be a rare item but is very much interested in by all people, especially millennials who already know the world on digital, even millennials have made digital their true friend, bitcoin comes through in digital, and making money coffers through digital, so over time bitcoin is increasingly loved and admired, because bitcoin is part of digital..
^ The simplest answer is because of the demand and the supply, that's it.
BTC has no government backing and no system of intermediate banks to spread its adoption. What makes it valuable is that it allows people to store large quantities of their wealth, spend, transfer, and earn a lot of money out of investing time and effort where digital currency is possible and while the supply of the BTC is limited to 21 millions which is the more people will hoard the more BTC becomes expensive.

Bitcoin is valuable as the very first cryptocurrency, but also because its design was impeccable at the foundation (though with technical shortcomings that have been resolved over time). It was designed in a finite amount and in accordance with game theory to keep the ecosystem secure, decentralized, and thriving.

Some have thus speculated that Satoshi Nakamoto was a sophisticated computer science expert with knowledge of economics. I agree that if he were alive and identified, he'd be deserving of the Nobel Prize in Economics!

Anyone can help improve the bitcoin network due to its open source nature bitcoin decentralization provides a very powerful and secure system. Verifying network transactions ensures that new bitcoins are constant and predictable you have to rely on bitcoin technology which is very reliable and secure in itself.

A quick look at CMC tells us how valuable Bitcoin has become. A lot of people trade on bitcoin as well as use it as a store of value. Bitcoin is designed provide an alternative payment system that would operate free of central control but otherwise be used just like traditional currencies. This design intent is exactly playing out on the current Ukraine and Russia war. With Putin's ban on withdrawals not exceeding $10,000.00, (https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2022-03-01/putin-bans-cash-exports-from-russia-exceeding-10-000-in-value-kremlin) it means the rest of the money, for those that have more than that, belongs to the government. That means you don't really own your money. That is what Bitcoin came to disrupt, to ensure that you really own your money. Bitcoin can be purchased in fractions as you can afford. The main purpose of Bitcoin should be remembered for us to really appreciate its value.

There are a million and one reasons why Bitcoin is valuable.
At first, it is the the first blockchain with a recorded Genesis onchain transaction of it's kind.
It is tagged as the modern day digital gold for which I am well aware you are informed about it.
It has a total supply of 21million which not all are in circulation. This makes it a scarce commodity and it's fractions more valuable than every other token or coin existing.
Bitcoin holders far much surpass every others existing onchain which makes it generally acceptable and some nations accept it as a legal tender.
Come to talk of it, the transaction Is very fast compared to Fiat transaction where you would have to wait for balancing of ledger before anything comes up to you.

Bitcoin is the name for a unit of a number that Satoshi Nakamoto created in their imagination - 21 million. This can't be valuable by definition given no one can utilize a number produced in someone's imagination. I mean, even if they could, everyone can use their own imagination to create whatever number they want. Bitcoin is simply a bait to scam people out of their economic resources, because it is these resources what provide utility to people. All scamers want to get their hands on those.

Bitcoins are valuable and most liked by the masses are due to it’s decentralised nature.
Yes i do agree on the fact that it has more benefits, but due to the anonymity and decentralised nature, it’s very popular among all the section of masses.
Moreover it’s limited supply also make it valuable, as when the time passes, it’s value will increase and definitely for that reason the price will also increase.
So yes Bitcoins are so far the best digital currency, and for these reasons it’s the valuable one too.

Bitcoin is not a thing of the future or the “next big thing” anymore. It is here, and it is working extensively to change the global financial model as we have known for the past century. It is, what can be called, the only natural progression to the form of money.

The concept of money has seen several forms in human history, since it came as an alternative to a barter system and Bitcoin is now a new form of system would is replace the real cash its questionable but it is here to remain.

So when it comes to Bitocin being valuable, scarcity is the biggest factor when it comes to value fluctuation. Bitcoin is the pioneer and made decentralized blockchains a real thing. Mining for bitcoins involves a great deal of energy and power , and can impose a major cost to miners. With volatility and technology driven society, bitcoin actually made blockchain based transactions a reality.

One of the more reasons why bitcoin is valuable is because it can’t be forged and changed.

Right! Scarcity is the main factor that makes bitcoin equivalent to gold. Many people have already started referring to bitcoin as digital gold.

it is due to scarcity. Itmeans? limited amount of bitcoin supply which makes bitcoins valuable. and very proven once seen from the value of the price. simple example. in 2011 the price of bitcoin was 1 dollar and in 2021 bitcoin touched the price of 66000 dollars. and it is proven that bitcoin is very high quality. from that, many investors invest in bitcoin. I am the same way. and uniquely investing in bitcoin can be done in all circles.

Cause People live in comtemporary have reached a consensus that Bitcoin is valuable. And when lots of people reached that consense, the value beheld by the item itself is no longer vital. For example, the currency has slight value, and it is just a paper. However, who can say they have no value today? The world is developing, the fast speed of our life stresses the urgent need for fast transaction speed. Cryptocurreny is all they need. Why is it GO VIRAL now? Partly because of unstoppable momentum, which some see as a CERTAIN sign of a bubble. In Bitcoin’s case, every rise above the $1,000 mark sparks a wave of investment frenzy. In the past December, the price of Bitcoin once exceeded the $20,000 mark. Many virtual currencies have multiplied by dozens or hundreds of times, and it is too easy to make money. Many people want to come in and make a fortune. People spread the news and spread the news, so the virtual currency became popular. In addition, the popularity of virtual currency is also driven by economic, financial and cultural development factors. Regulators in countries such as Japan have approved bitcoin transactions. The soaring stock market and the continued decline in the unemployment rate in the United States have also contributed to the fuel. These factors have made investors more eager to make high-risk investments, which indirectly led to the rise of virtual currencies.

There is a definite supply of bitcoin. Bitcoin will no longer grow when the whole bitcoin mine is over.  So there is no fear of inflation here where there is fear of money inflation in every country. So everyone is interested in Bitcoin and everyone is buying Bitcoin as a valuable asset like gold. So Bitcoin is gaining popularity day by day and its value is increasing. that's why bitcoin is valuable

I think you mean devaluation not inflation.

Here is a thought experiment:  If there was no published bitcoin price metric - what price would you trade your fiat for it?

If you are starving and I have a basket of apples and you have 1000 bitcoins - what has more value?

I'm not getting your point. By the same analogy, your basket of apples is more valuable than a ton of gold, or a mountain of diamonds.

Consider this thought experiment: What is the value of your basket of apples in a seemingly endless apple orchard at harvest time?

Bitcoin is valuable simply because we put a value in it.Like any other fiat currencies,we also use bitcoin to buy goods and services as a form of money. The more people use money the more it becomes valuable. And because bitcoin has only 21million limited supplies, people wants to hold more. This indicate that there is more demand than supply, which results to increase in value..And lastly more people used it as an investment and became rich because of bitcoin.

In simple words, it is the demand for bitcoin which makes it valuable. The more the demand for bitcoin increases, the more people will buy it and since its demand is limited, the price of bitcoin will rise quickly.
However, if there is a lack of demand, people will not buy bitcoin and hence its price will not rise or increase. So it's the people who make it valuable and nothing else.

I believe you are trying to build a story around Bitcoin, its evolution and development since you relate it to the manner and origin of money, but you failed to point out some facts about bitcoin. E.g it's the total supply of 21 million and its anti-inflationary nature give Bitcoin an intrinsic value that makes Bitcoin stand out among other assets and currencies.

Regardless of the downward movements that bitcoin is showing at the moment, it is still the most valuable currency of all times. It is just a temporary phase and I am quite sure that bitcoin will bounce back to new heights soon.

It's definitely valuable because people think it's valuable. To get rid of the flaws in the current money transaction method, we need a breakthrough that's Bitcoin. So people start to accept the new era of transactions and think it's the future. It's valuable because its importance is inevitable nowadays.

The idea of bitcoin being finite is not the real reason why we care about the price of it. The real reason why we think it worths something is the fact that nobody controls it. USD or Euro or anything else could become less valuable due to inflation all because there are people at the top who make it so. But, bitcoin is not touched by anyone or controlled by anyone and that is why we care about it so much.

I would rather lose all my money in bitcoin, then keep it in dollar and have it slowly become less valuable. Any investment made in fiat would be racing towards inflation and hoped that it wouldn't be this low, and that's why there is crypto, it's the main reason why it was created.

... because people think it is. Scarcity has nothing to do with it and I don't think the scarcity argument holds up over the fire regardless. All it takes to mint more coins than everyone thinks is community consensus and if you are looking at a 100 year time horizon and competition between cryptocurrencies, that is not out of the question.

It will remain valuable for the simple reasons:
- Store of value.
- Function as a payment method as well.
- Fully decentralized and can't be manipulated by all means.
This is from a technical point of view. In addition to the rest of its advantages of being accessible to everyone if we take into account the huge number of people around the world who are unable to provide banking services. Bitcoin requires only a phone connected to the Internet.
The most important thing is that it can be used completely anonymously without revealing the identity of the person using it. This facilitates its spread even in countries that prohibit its use.

This is what the people are counting on. There is no inflation with it, and yes there is a "little" inflation in guise of mining rewards but that is nothing compared to how much money we are talking about. And that means we are going to be pretty upset when we find out that fiat doesn't have that at all, billions do not still realize that.

You could literally print money to make dollar worth 1 cent euro, but they won't, yet they "can" and that is the scary part. If we are going with the fiat route then we are going to regret that forever because if you go back 10 years, 20-30-40-50 and you will realize that things only get more expensive and crypto is a way to protect that.

The value of Bitcoin comes from all that multitude of whales and investors who believe in bitcoin technology, knowing that transactions are so fast and necessary for our current lives, is something that should be enough for many, but some people like me like to be careful with bitcoin, that is, not spending it means that money can be multiplied in less than 5 years, which is quite obvious that it will rise in price and leave profits much better than any lottery.

Scarcity is important, because it assures investors and dealers the currency is really decentralized, since the developer will never be able to create new coins besides the 21 million in order to execute market manipulation schemes, like dumping the currency for personal instantly gains.

It's scarcity what also raises trust in bitcoin and its legitimacy. If it wasn't for this characteristic I don't believe bitcoin would reach to the adoption and price levels we have been seeing so far.

Bitcoin had huge demands over a year, the demands of bitcoin had increased because of the new investors.Several investors was increased every day,So it’s essential one for the people to hold huge bitcoin for future.People who had huge money are advised to to inverse on bitcoin and good potential coin. Then they can easily double or triple the money in a short period of time.

Isn't it also a bit personal? I mean it could be valuable to me, and not be valuable to you. In that case its basically "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" or whatever americans say. Thats the type of thing we are in right now where we may think that its good, but that doesn't change the fact that it may not as good as we imagine it would be for other people. I have a personal reason of hating banks that caused me to be so interested in bitcoin, but I can see others who are only interested in making a profit by investing into crypto not liking it so much when you look at the past few months. So it depends on what you want out of this in the end.

Let's bring it into the real world would you like to choose a professional medical doctor that treats and takes care of patient in the hospital or would like to choose someone that got know skill and has nothing offer or economic value?. Medical Doctor of course!
Therefore, this is to say value comes from problem solving ,you create value by solving people's problem. Bitcoin has solved the decades problem of old monetary system that is inflationary (money printing), centralized and non transparent system. While Bitcoin is deflationary , limited supply/Scare (only 21M Bitcoin can ever be in existence), decentralized  and a transparent monetary system (all the transaction from the beginning are there to see). Therefore a (ll this problems put together makes which Bitcoin solved valuable

Because they can act as a store of value and a unit of exchange. Although its biggest problem is its status as a unit of exchange, as most businesses have yet to accept it as payment, it is very scarce

People already are in love with Bitcoin, I'm sure you are aware of many of them....
here on the forum. Pretty much all of the currently mined Bitcoin is bought and owned
by someone. Not everyone in the world owns or wants to own Bitcoin but its doing
very well with the current level of interest.

Title: Re: Why Bitcoin is valuable?

In addition to this cost of mining Bitcoin makes it valuable. Once BTC is mined for a specific cost it is unlikely the miner is going to sell what they earned for less than what it took them to attain. This cost is dependent on the cost of electricity, the mining difficulty and block reward.

Once this baseline price has been reached, price is determined by supply/demand dynamics. Its utility makes it valuable - as a currency in the upcoming DeFi industry. Hence we have demand. And as you said it is scarce, capped at 21 million. Hence, limited supply.

This is how money works in general. However Bitcoin is different from fiat in that it is not controlled by banks.

Because it's good for you simple,
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM AN ASSET?

Simply you want full control of that particular asset that it should be in your custody point no 1.
You need freedom of financial activities.
You need Valuation as always you expect that in hard times or for the next generation of savings.
You need a modern mode of exchange..
whatever you need BTC is giving it to you so that is the reason its valuable, point is anything became valuable when you need it and for now BTC is your primary need.
