Title: Avalon 1066 melting wall plug
Post by: bubblerocktosh on January 26, 2022, 11:44:01 AM
I'm running two Avalon 1066 ASIC's. One I have no problem with hashing away stacking the sats.
The other melts the wall plug after about an hour. It mines OK but is unsafe to use. All the fans are running fine and often the heat in the plug isn't matched by the machine.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how I might address it.
Cheers!

::) Duh -- hot wall plugs mean you are overloading it or bad wiring or there are poor connections in it. Have proper wiring and wall receptacles installed by a qualified electrician...

This unit has around 3,250w so if you have a 10A wall outlet it will melt fast even a 15A wall outlet is not enough it could also melt your plug outlet.
Also, take note running this miner with 110v can melt the outlet or wires that can damage your miner.
