Title: GoldCoin (GLD) Revive???
Post by: bitmixer on March 27, 2014, 12:48:25 PM
I've noticed Goldcoin network hashrate went from 25MH/s to 70MH/s and still rising while diff isn't at bottom.

Also it's not in top altcoin to mine, diff not at bottom so it's not the multipools causing this (I'm at trademybit/hashco.ws and I didn't see them mine this for a minute).

Does anyone know what's happening. Is there some INFO about GoldCoin I'm missing?

There's already 0.0000171 -> 0.00002 jump (almost 17%) in last transactions.

Yes. It's finally starting to get a little attention. I think this is THE coin to watch.

It dropped alot during past months but surely it got bigger potential so I believe value will grow.
Last 10% drop was at 24 march due to almost no trading that day.

Exactly. It's not a good investment, all the markets have gone into a negative change in the past 24 hours.

GLD was a scamcoin that cratered, then some old guy bought a billion of them and tried to revive it and put up ads and other nonsense.  Classic pump and dump.

Billion? No. Million? Maybe.
The story is true, more or less.

Lets stick to facts instead of rumor and conjecture. Goldcoin is alive and well with plenty of support and development behind it.

Words from the current developer:

Sorry, these are not facts.
These are just one man's words. The original developer is gone, and that is a good thing.

Thanks for the head's up. I'll contact the faucet operator and ask him to have a look.

In the mean time, if you have a FB page you can register for the forum and get 100 free goldcoins.  :)

Because all governments know what bitcoin is :D and try to squeeze penny out of it.

But altcoins are still unknown to governments.

That's why Bitcoin might drop with each govt hit or regulation, but altcoins are still under radar ;)

Great Article by Hazard: http://cryptolife.net/goldcoin-the-scam-that-keeps-on-giving/

GLD GoldCoin SCAM COIN | 7,000,000 Coins premined!!!!!!!: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211416.0

Should GLD be added to the scam/sh*tcoin list?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348057.0

Has always been some fishy stuff going on around GoldCoin. I too first thought it would be a great coin to get into.

GoldCoin had a shakey start but was entirely revived and rebuilt by a dedicated team. Its a shame we cannot move past this and build on the good community that GoldCoin has now.

MicroGuy Pump Account #3?

What community? The community where MicroGuy censors & deletes your posts if you disagree with him even slightly? The main GoldCoin thread would probably be over 100 pages now if he didn't delete every other post.

There are a few coins I really detest. GoldCoin is the main one. It's like herpes, you just can't get rid of it.

+1

add to that microguys youtube promotion (which only ever get a handful of hits), which in summary basically only says spend $10 return $10000, rather then promoting it on things that really count (which to be honest now it has a few)...........yet he still blindly thinks this adds value to the coin  ::)

the few times goldcoins price has risen where merely from some random pumper pumping it.

I very rarely delete posts and thought I had already apologized for deleting your post.

There was a time when the network was having issues and the trolls had come out in mass. During that period I got a little heavy handed in the moderation department. You were one of the babies that got thrown out with the bathwater. I was wrong, and apologize.

What is the current difficulty of the Goldcoin?

The current difficulty is 3.495.

Is there an ETA on the java client? GoldCoin was since I last viewed it was aiming to be an introductory coin for new people getting into crypto. I really hope any development that is done is user friendly.
