Title: Studying the activity of Satoshi on the forum!
Post by: Satscatcher on January 30, 2022, 10:39:01 AM
Hi everyone. I don't know if it is the right way and section to post, searched about but no results. I am very fascinated by the beginnings of bitcoin and the figure of Nakamoto, so i began to analyze times and days when Satoshi was active on the forum, especially in the early days. This because i think these details can tell us a lot about him, trace work schedules, sleep cycles, religion or whatever. For me every little pieces of this puzzle it's important to understand the mind behind. Now the question is: it's the time on these posts the original, which timezone? if anyone can confirm me something it's much appreciated. and obviously if anyone wants to join me in my research is welcome. catcher

This is more a forum discussion, hence I'd say that you better move it to Meta (see bottom-left).
Now, if you go to your own user settings (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=theme), you'll see that you can see the times for all posts in forum time or the time zone you prefer.

I think that forum time is UTC, hence that's what you'll get if you set no time offset.

TL;DR: UTC (https://time.is/UTC)

To save you time, many have tried and I dare say much smarter than you to find the person behind the nickname Satoshi Nakamoto, but no one has succeeded. Besides, Satoshi didn't just disappear, history tells us that he decided to do so and we should all respect that. The man who invented Bitcoin certainly left no trace that could have led to his true identity.

Something more recent on this topic -> Why did Satoshi use GB British English and international English ? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5348758.0)

Quote
In a first email, Mike Hearn asked Satoshi Nakamoto what his intentions were in terms of his involvement in the development of Bitcoin for the coming months:

“Are you planning on rejoining the community at some point (e.g. for code reviews), or is your plan to permanently step back from the limelight?”

Satoshi Nakamoto simply told him that the Bitcoin revolution was in good hands and that he had decided to take care of other things:

“I’ve moved on to other things. It’s in good hands with Gavin and everyone.”

OP, if you're so bent on exhuming the intentionally self elusive Satoshi; you may want to contact one of those who had close correspondences with him. His real name is Martti Malmi. If you can get Him here as sirius (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=4) or on the below sites, I believe your search will be half settled. You will expectedly be guaranteed an exclusive interview.

I found this topic so fascinating. But damn Satoshi (if it is even a single person) is pretty good at hiding. But to be frank i don't think Satoshi wants even to to found, i mean that is very clear. I wish that satoshi himself will come out. But yeah finding about how he thinks and work will be very informative.

@Mpamaegbu, I don't think Sirius (Martti Malmi) has revealed anything about who Satoshi is yet, because he doesn't know who it is either - but even if he did, I don't believe he would reveal his identity.

Maybe the OP could try to contact @mufa23 who reportedly found out who Satoshi was - or dozens of others who claimed the same but never said anything publicly.

I dont believe this, this will disregard the information of the forum has been started by Satoshi and also unveil the man behind Satoshi, dont start what you cant finish. It could be a difficult topic to see anyone support your claim especially the forum moderators. So this may end there soon
