Post by: Tsyhan on February 03, 2022, 01:52:15 PM
Hello community. Please share the resources you use to analyze new proof of work projects in GPU.
What resources other than coinmarketcap do you track on.
Please also share threads on this forum for similar queries.
And who do you think will take the place of Ethereum after the PoS transition. in GPU mining?

This post belongs in altcoin mining section please consider moving it to the right place it belong here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0  , here is what I think

1. There is no certainty that ETH will abandon PoW
2. We have ravencoin, ergo, alephium, and others that are still profitable to mine but still if bear market comes mining won't be profitable for a while

Alph is the one that peolple are mining right now, still new with low difficulty even solo mining is pretty good but I doubt that gpu mining will make sense when ETH mining goes down, it has always been ETH mining for GPU this is the best coin to mine till this days.

You could manually check for the newly announced POW coins in the Altcoin Announcements board, though it's hectic - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

Whattomine is also helpful site - https://whattomine.com
Miningpool stats has a section dedicated to new POW coins - https://miningpoolstats.stream/newcoins

There are tons of projects released every day however most of them are not mineable. They go straight for the ERC20 tokens either on one of the main chains.

Back in 2015 you got maybe 1 or 2 new coins which were pretty much Litecoin clones and you could instamine them and in a day or two they got listed on a large exchange.

That doesn’t happen anymore these days. POW is a dying trend. The future is POS or tokens and it’s not good for home miners.
