From research ICO (initial coin offering) seems to be dead right now, and their are many reasons to it, but scam has the highest percentage as a reason to the death of ICO also the coming in off many other Crypto-currency features is making it hard for ICO to even recover, I don't have any recommendations for you concerning an ICO to invest but I would warn you to think this your urge through, because it could be a risky one.

ICO's are dead so if I where you better choose other type of platform to invest since mostly the one we can see now here are scam. You should explore the Defi or NFT since this is now getting the limelight since mostly investors are in this scene right now. But you cannot spot accurately which is best among them since as usual devs bring good presentations to market their project so if you are going to invest on it better learn to take out the profit if you have a chance to do it.

It's not totally dead but only a few now can be considered as worthy. Unlike before, new projects are popped out almost every day during the prime days of ICOs. There's still a good project out there but it's hard to choose right now. Not because those projects are not good but the trend today is about NFT and Metaverse. It will be difficult to attract investors nowadays if the project concept isn't the trend right now.

@OP you can still refer to the usual ICO checker websites and do your research from there.

No.

Although there are still projects that try to get into the ICO. Check and search those ICO listing websites, they still got some projects left on the list.
But, it is unknown if those projects are good to trust with your money. It's better to go away from them and set yourself with another standard if it's about investing into those projects.

I think that the traditional ICOs that we know from the time from 2017 and 2018 where everyone could freely invest with no hardcap where project like filecoin raised 150 Million USD or even more are pretty much over nowadays. What we have now are dozens of different launchpads where the ICO's or IDO's are handled. One of the first ones was Polkastarter as far as i know and it is still one of the biggest launchpads out there until today. I personally am part of Poolz and DuckDao where you can also participate in IDO. The thing with launchpads is though, that you have to buy there token in order to be able to join their groups to be eligible to invest into their IDO's, which means you need to invest money before you even can invest into ICO's, but if you get good ICO's then it should pay out.

It's still worth to invest in the ICO as long as you know about how to identity of pick the legit icos. It's better if you take a look at ICO and IEO at this moment. You can see how much ROI that already made through cryptorankio site as well.

If so, how do I find the good ones? Any recommendations here ?:)
It's quite easy to find that. What you need to do to visit icodrop as the best site that was providing the best list of ico and you can try to do your own research to pick up which was the best ico from the list that already published by icodrop.

Hello! Is it still worth to invest into ICOs?
It gets evolved into a new way like IDO and IEO. These days people are using IDO or IEO to invest in the new ICO that is listed on the IDO and IEO platforms caused by the ICO team must be verified by the IDO or IEO platform before they can launch their project through the platform. IDO and IEO are pretty similar like kickstarter platform where you can get a spot as an early investor and get a decent return from there. You can try to visit solanium or polkastarter to know more about that. I do believe if you can take a spot to participate in the IDO or IEO.

Hello! Is it still worth to invest into ICOs?
The fact that you frame the question like this shows that you know ICOs are not worth putting money into but you are still testing the waters because you are greedy enough to see your hands get burnt while trying to play with fire.

Break your bubble mate, ICOs are all that are no longer what they used to be a long time back. Not that today the situation is any better, DeFi and NFT have taken over but they are just the same thing with new names.

You wont. So stop searching. Learn how trading can be done, long term and invest in coins worth getting into.

Mostly bitcoin and if you have money at hand, do go with your country's fiat markets. They are also worth it, unlike what many members of this forum might say.

Yes and no. There are projects that are worth to invest with when you invest early. Im not sure for those that bound or used ido platform. The only one I trusted regarding ido is avalaunch for now. Its an avalanche incubator project. All their line up projects mostly do solid 5x min to 100x plus per project. Thats definitely a good profit for joining such new projects.

Instead of thinking about ICOs (which is a dead term nowadays), go with "Launchpads".
Launchpads is where you can invest in a project or startup before their native tokens are publicly released.
These platforms perform various checks and authentications before launching any project or startup so you have a bit of assurance that it's a legitimate project/startup.
Binance is one prime example. (launchpad.binance.com)
TrustSwap (trustswap.com/launchpads) is also one of those launchpads but not that big as Binance.
But then again, you still have to do heavy research about the projects launched on these sites, it is always better to have a full understanding of what you're investing than blindly jumping in.

Before you invest in an ICO, you should be careful, because not a few ICOs promise big profits even though the project will not necessarily succeed in the future. It's a good idea to first analyze the ICOs that you think are worthy of being followed on the best ICO provider sites according to the ICO site. Even now on CoinmarketCap there is already a list of projects that will hold an ICO or IDO within the next month, if you are interested you can do an analysis from now on.

it is very likely you are not seeing GOOD ICO anymore, not this time as they are already done many years ago. Well, perhaps, you can find some but they are scammy projects which only loses your money if you try, I suggest not, that's why.
what I think is the best for you is to find promising coins as many of them still exists and besides, you don't lose your money and waste your time. But of course, it won't just it play that easy, you still have something to do and be patient enough, otherwise.

Hello! Is it still worth to invest into ICOs?
It's not worth anymore to invest in the icos right now. Can you try to change your plan and then you can stick to the IEO and IDO? You must need to see this as a data to change your mind to invest in the ico.
https://cryptorank.io/ieo-platforms-roi
https://cryptorank.io/ido-platforms-roi

It's clear that IDO and IEO have very good ROI compared with the icos but i know that ethereum and some big marketcap coins are coming from the icos but this time icos is not relevant anymore.

If so, how do I find the good ones? Any recommendations here ?:)
it's quite difficult to do that but when you wanna try to join in the IEO and this will be very easy for you.

It may be more difficult at the moment to find a worthy project for investment, but still possible. The main thing is a thorough study and analysis of the platform. Just do not take risks and invest large sums. Just recently I found such a project, though I spent almost a whole day deciding, so far everything is fine.

If asked if it is still  worth it, the answer is still, but it depends on which project is chosen. To choose a good project, we really have to understand it and see what the future plans are, you can look at the whitepaper of the project and see the team, the concept, the allocation of funds and also the future plans. if it is worth following then it will be good at least you can get a big profit. so it all depends on what projects are chosen to invest in. don't be easily tempted by tempting lures but have a good look and understand for yourself whether it's worth following or not.

ICOs, as far as I'm aware, are no longer available! It has been replaced by NFT mintings and the NFT bubble, which are sold in the NFT marketplace, where people wait for another idiot to buy an ugly artwork at a higher price. Even if these initial coin offerings (ICOs) exist today, they only play a minor role in the cryptosphere.

But then, if you insist in finding which ICO's are worth investing then I think these resources could help:
- 🌍 Guidelines, how to spot a scam ICO & report effectively. ✔ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5004397.0)

The concept of spotting a scam ICO is almost the same for finding NFT's though.

If you don't know anything about investing in ICOs, of course this will be very risky and I don't think we should put money in investments that we don't understand because ICOs have not developed for a long time, investors are more into new trends in NFT or other initial investments.
I, who have been familiar with investing in ICOs for a long time, are still a little hesitant because it can't be expected anymore unless I invest in existing ones such as top and popular coins, but if you want to invest at the start of a new project, of course we must have knowledge about it.

The trend has already changed from ICO into a project related to NFT and Metaverse, but sooner or later, it will replace the other new trends. You can search for the ANN on the Altcoin board and see many new projects that you can read for more. But I do not think you can know which project is worth investing in. Even if you find it from other sources, it will not be easy to know it. But investing in a new project will have a big risk because we do not know if that project can grow in the future. So it is better to invest in reliable projects that already get popularity among us.

I don't want use the word dead with regards to ICO but I think the correct word to say it is transitioning.

New projects are transitioning overtime. From ICO to IDO to now IGO and it will goes on and on in the future and only the middle letter will be changed :D. Overall, projects that launched their ICO back a few years ago scammed many investors and it will be the same until now. There will be new projects that will be scamming investors. With regards to the OP though, I will not recommend investing into ICO's right now but if you will want to invest into new projects then maybe you can consider investing into new games and the popular ones since it is the one that is popular as of now or maybe just invest into the top coins at least there it is lower risk compare to investing into new projects.

Usually what I do to know whether a project is good or not is to follow the discussion on dicord or telegram, I think it's easy to know whether the discussion on Telegram is purely from investors or not, and of course we can't see the discussion for 1 or 2 days, at least a week.
Apart from that, we can also do our own research on the project and see what the road map looks like,
I think there are many ways so as long as we always try nothing will be in vain,
apart from that there are indeed many projects that end up being scams and we need to be careful

ICOs lost its popularity and was overtaken by the new trend (Defi, NFTs and metaverse). Though there are still projects conducting ICOs but its hard now to find a worthy projects. Due to many scam ICOs in the past many investors are not trusting them anymore and move on to the current trend. If you really want invest in ICOs, you need to do an extensive research to find a project that is unlikely to be a scam.

nowadays, I rarely hear about ICOs anymore. however, if you are still interested in investing with ICOs, you need to do some in-depth research. it is the basic principle of investment. know what you are investing in. there's no instant way to tell if it's worth it or not. Investigate all social medial, telegram, discord and more. read drafts, and whitepapers. it will lead you to decide whether it is worth investing there or not.

Your question actually consist of two questions. You can lots of ICO in Tokens (Altcoins) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=240.0), even simply googling question will show good results. But no one will help you with "worth investing" part. You will have to take risks yourself, make your own research. Besides, we do not know the your criteria's for investing.

It is not hard to find where to invest. It is hard to get first experience of determine whether project will turn scam or not. It is hard to build a flair for danger. Before becoming an investor I would suggest to study market trends. Because on one hand project might look demanding, on the other hand it might never raise softcap.

If you've been familiar with the market for a while, I think you've got your answer :)

In the current market, there are many forms of attracting new investors, ICOs are too outdated. And in my opinion this stage should not be spent much time with new projects.

It's still worth but for IEO and IEO. i rarely seen a project that was doing ico but as long as this is a legit project and that's fine. The only problem is when you are trying to join in the IEO or IDO and that will be so difficult to get at least a chance to join on it. Im still seeking for the new project caused by this can give me huge profit in a short time.

Yes and it caused by so many projects are moving to the IEO and IDO. You will not find a legit ico again. The new project prefer to do their funding through use various launch pad platforms and this platform is totally worth for you to make money. Joining in IEO or IDO must become youyr priority. The ERA of ico already evolved into the launchpad launched by the trusted party to ensure if the project that was getting launched was not a scam project. it sounds good as investor get more layer for the protection from scammers. These days scammers can easily create fake project.
This launchpad platform was preventing it to happen.

There are still those projects that chose to give it a try as an ICO.
where they directly sell tokens in the market and I think they are more effective than ICO that have a lot of fraud,
IEO is much better because they're being supported by an exchange and it's an assurance that they'll get listed already on that exchange. The better the exchange, the better sale they'll get because investors are relying their trust on the exchanges. So if it's going to be for the developers choice, they would choose to be into an exchange with assurance as they put the project on sale.

I don't think that ICO is now worthy again like what happened in previous years. ICO seems to be an old way and that's dead. Many projects coming from ICO are dead and end up as shitcoins currently. Alhtough there may be very few project that is are successful, we cannot find them very easily.
Moreover, investing in such new projects are very risky, have you understood about this risk?
If you have and you are exactly ready with the risks, you may see on some platform-like ICO drops, but I don't think it is a good idea because the platform cannot guarantee that the project will be worthy or not. Moreover, if this is about an ICO project, even we have analyzed the project and team, concept and also the real use case seems ver interesting, but in fact, sometimes, it is too good to be true and then failed.
You may consider about getting new projects from some CEX, I mean they commonly will list new coins or tokens, and most of them are the pump coins or tokens. So, you can utilize the hype or pump tokens to get the rpfoits. But,t his way is also very high risk and I cannot suggest you to do it if you don't know how to utilize every chance of taking profit with the hype toknes. This is too risky.

The ICO trend seems to have ended, look at projects that rely on ICOs, many fail to reach the softcap even though it's only $100k, people certainly don't want to take risks in ICOs, moreover there are already more than 17k choices of coins on the market, so many ICOs fail, investors prefer to IEO or IDO, and on GATE, Mexc, FTX, Pancake or other exchanges many successful projects.

The ICO trend seems to have ended

It has developed into NFT, Metaverse and play to earn games. Previously projects have created a webpage, filled it with info, created whitepaper and presentation of their product, and ran ICO to raise money. Now they do the same with NFT, Metaverse and games. Make some arts, shiny pictures, promise that their game will be "most interesting in the world" and promise "wow features", and that is it - they start to raise money with that. Without even planning to finish what they promise to release. There is no difference between "we will integrate blockchain into warehouse good distribution process" and "we will create a metaverse, where you can be anyone you want". Both are just fancy word to get investors money :)

If you want to join an ICO, the first thing you should do is analyze the project first because so far many projects are selling through ICOs, almost all of them are just scammers, so when you invest with an ICO you should choose a project that has been audited by an audit firm like Certik and Hacken and apart from that you should also check that the contract of the project you want to invest in has been verified to ensure that the project is not a duplicate of another project.

ICOs have been like a gambling which may not be evident to newcomers but to veterans like me this is a very clear. Either get in early when the price is low and sell at high to exit. But don't expect a good listing when buying on token sales. It is a rat race and getting a big return in it is much less likely than what you could in the stock or crypto trading markets.

Some people enter ICOs because they are not willing to buy Bitcoin in a fraction. This is a wrong mentality because every fraction of Bitcoin is costly and collecting those fractions adds up to a bigger number.

Do not believe, there is an ICO that has turned out to be very good, I worked in social networks for that project and it is very well supported, in fact one of the most famous managers was in charge of the project, his name is Beyond Protocol, which is a really serious project and I see a great future for it, in fact the people in charge have great professionalism.

So not all is lost for ICOs, in fact the conditions for ICOs are very big and they have to be met, this has prevented it from leading to scams, so all is not lost.

Most the new projects prefer IEO or IDO nowadays, but finding a good project is really difficult, you better do your own research, scam projects will never end.
Is there a fundamental difference between ICO with IEO and IDO at this time ? because from what I see now there are also projects that implement IEO and IDO into a scam in the end so that benchmark is not the only thing that has to be looked at now but great support from some good parties.

I suggest going with IDO (Initial Dex Offering) there are already a lot of them right now, especially on different chains.

I can give you some examples, try the Solana network, Raydium is one of the best examples for Initial Dex Offering, there are some projects already made successful IDO there where you only need funds and sometimes whitelisting for their sale.

I find more IDO is much better or safe compare to ICO.

I think ICO is now outdated, we use IDO whitelist for public sale. Usually IDO is carried out on a trusted platform such as an exchange or incubator, and immediately explodes when the IDO is finished.

According to the advice and the fact that more than 90% of ICOs are scams so projects that rely on ICOs will fail to achieve softcap, investors are tired of ICOs which often end up losing money because when they are present in the market the value drops, IDO and IEO are certainly safer because investors can know the performance of the project.

They are and the common today aside from IDO is IEO. There's still vast projects that are choosing to launch themselves through exchanges where they've been supported and going to be listed after their sale. There's still an enormous support from the investors that they're investing with those projects that seems to being liked by their users. Finding a worthy ICO will take you time although they're outdated and there's still some, you should just spend your time better with the commons today.

Worth to invest? There's no assurance.
the site provided can be a good start in doing research. Then it's just how you respond to it. other than that, don't be fooled by the scores such sites give. better find out for yourself about the progress of the project. usually I just use the site as my information base for an ICO. You can know social media, the people who are in it, telegram, discord, and other information you can find there. however, for the development of the project itself, you need to look deeper than telegram, social media, discord, and also their AMA program.

it's very difficult to choose a really decent ico at this time a few years ago ico projects were very good and very profitable for many people nowadays many ico projects are scams but not all of them there are still decent ico projects just that we need to be more careful in selecting it.

We had good ICO's here, but we had many ICO scams as well! I am guessing that today it's the same ratio as before, on every good project there are at least 10 scams! Choosing that one promising is really hard, that can bring high profit with very low investments! What I saw some people are doing is dividing their capital and they chase that good project with more investments! They don't complain about the profit, going all-in in just one project can end in disaster, choosing more of them gives you more chances to hit some good project that can make some insane rise!

So, what they are doing is like gambling. That is how gambling works too, the more you bet the more the chances of winning. Why cant they invest instead on safer projects? To establish one's and not on the new ICOs. They are already sure on them that it can give them some profit especially if they learn to hold longer. ICO's are nearly dead now.

I think there is only 1 percent of them exist and the chance for it to fail is still high because many investors are now investing on the newer version of funding (i.e ipo, ido, ieo and others that i forget the term already). One thing that makes them secure is that they are held inside an exchange and you can chose a top exchange for a better quality project.

IDO's are great if you are looking for something in the defi or meta world, but the new coins and their releases are still in the ICO world right now. I would suggest IDO as well if you are looking for a quick return, but if you are looking for a return that would be 1000x in 4 years type of long term approach then finding coins instead of tokens to invest is still better.

I do both, I mean both quick returns and long term investments are great, you do not have to limit yourself just to one of them, and this means I end up with some good profits in the short and the long term. I do end up losing money on most tries but the ones that earn me profit usually cover the difference and then some.

It's hard to find a good ICO like 2016-2017, at that time ICOs were very easy to reach a hard cap even with a value of $200 million
Yes. Nowadays, it is rather difficult to get good ICOs. Many of the ICO projects just want to earn money quickly. They pay some sites to improve the popularity of their projects, so investors are interested to buy their tokens. Sadly, after they got money, the project will grow slowly. Even, the team members of the project leave the project suddenly.

unfortunately it was used by scammers so investors didn't believe it again with ICOs.
It is true. Scammers know if many people want to try their luck in ICOs. So, ICOs were trending and quite popular. Scammers take advantage of this situation, they plan ways to trap people. Of course, scammers can take people's money because there are too many people buying new tokens without deep analysis.

it's not worth anymore. I think that you can stick to the another kind of fundraising like IEO and IDO. People in here have been suggesting about that and joining in ICO is not worth anymore and you must also remember that if you are in the bearish market. That being said that when you must be careful with any investment opportunity as sometime this can be a boomerang for you. Why don't you wait until the market will be bullish again? I meant as you can see that if the bearish market will be also affecting the crypto fundraising platforms as well.

I don't think if it is still worth investing in ICO projects because 99% of them are scam and many investors are not investing anymore in ICOs, they prefer IEO and IDO but still you have to be careful when choosing a new project to invest because there are still scam projects even in IEO and IDO.

Right but if you are attending some meetings and conferences in crypto sphere you may know how to find good ICOs, despite the fact that 99% of ICOs are scam. First of all you must look at the team behind the project and then their backed money, roadmap, aims, financial abilities and etc.

Right, even though IDO & IEO also both aren’t 100% guaranteed  way to profit by investment, In that case i would like to recommend to invest on top tier Exchanges launchpad projects those can be around 10x-20x profitable most of the time. There're so many lower exchanges run shit/scam projects IEO just because of they got paid by team.
The big name launchpads usually do increase a lot for the short period but you should not always stick long term in case they drop very sharply as well. At the end of the day, the hype from the launchpad wears off and you end up with just a simple token. If the project doesn't do anything to entice people then we will just be holding a bag.

So, if your only aim is to profit, you are not investing because you like the project, then you have to just simply sell it and get out as soon as you see enough profit. I am not saying that you should find other methods, if you like this then do it but if your only aim is to profit then you should be a lot more careful about it then long term investors.

Though late reply, but just do not fund. If you do not want to gamble with your fund then don't look for ICO investment projects. All are just useless and scammers. Everyone here just eats our money. No real concept nor real development. They just raised funds and skip or rug pull. Don't believe in any brand new project. Better just choose a few reputable and top coins from the market and invest in the dip. So you wouldn't lose your 100% portfolio.

When deciding to invest in a particular project, it is necessary to see which investors invested in it at the seed round stage. And if we do not see well-known companies among them, it is better to refrain from investing. It is possible that you will not receive a profit in this case, but the main thing is that you will not lose your money.

Forget about icos, scammers abused the the ico model so thoroughly that no one in his right mind is going to invest in a coin that follows that model anymore, the community was noble and they were willing to invest money in those projects in order to speed up the development of this market.

However scammers took advantage of their good will and stole a great deal of all the money ever invested in icos, the community learned their lesson and as such the skepticism surrounding icos is incredibly high.

Most of the ICOs today are dead, knowing most of them turned out scams in the end. Although there are some pretty good left, but you can't rely from it anymore for decent amount of income. So never take the risk if you know you can't get rewarded in the end. However, invest more on those old and established coins, because most of them are still giving good profits. And definitely stay away from memes and shitcoins as they bring unreliable profits at all.

Honestly finding the launchpads is more important than finding the projects, I agree with that. I mean places like BSCPads, Gamefi, seedify and so forth are all getting super high returns. Even places like kommunitas which is not as big as the other ones, is still getting a lot of people investing and selling out on the projects IDO, which is proof enough that there are people who couldn't get it and wants to get it. This results with the project going x10 on the first day most of the time, then either stay there for a while and then drop, or directly start dropping without waiting too much. This is why I usually end up buying from IDO if I can, then selling on the first day as soon as it makes x2 and get out. Its basically a secure way and I rarely end up losing and even if I do, the previous/next one makes me enough money to recover that.

I cannot provide you such details on finding worth investing ICOs as they are not the trend today. Gone are those days where ICOs are indeed giving us reliable source of income. Instead, divert your interest into more worthy investments like sticking to bitcoin and potential altcoins. This way, i can give you assurance that you will never be losing most of the time, provided that you have more patience and definitely more determination to hold despite of the price corrections that may suddenly come along the way.

Yes I agree, everyone should be investing their money in bitcoin, Ethereum, and other good Altcoins such as Cardano, Binance Coin and the rest of them. But don’t forget that airdrops are free to participate, so it wouldn’t be bad to also keep trying your luck. And if you’re not someone who is a day trader and what you’re doing is simply investment which you HODL for a long term, you would have enough time to try other things. The only thing airdrops is the fact that the chances of winning is very low, that’s why a lot of people loses interest in it.

Wasnt it already mentioned million times on the forum, that lately, all the airdrops are waste of time. They are either sort of a competition (and that takes time and funds to win) or scam. And even if someone get an airdrop, how much will he get? 20-50$ worth tokens, while it is not traded and no one know how the amount and value was calculated?

"How to find ICOs worth investing?" - every ICO is worth investing if you believe in its idea. Without a detailed review, choosing ICO is like a blind picking. Anyone will good. When I buy altcoins, I pay more attention on funds, partners and supporters, that are named on projects webpage. If they are huge and popular, then something good might come out in the end. Then make a triple check if this info is legit and make a decision.

Personally, I think that the first thing that you will have to do is to look for a reliable platform where ICOs are being listed, and when you have gotten a good platform where the best airdrops are more likely to be listed, you can then get started from there, but that doesn’t mean that you are safe, you still have to be very selective.

The good thing about getting the right platform is that you will be getting the best and as well most of the ICOs you will find would be legit. After that you have to start properly going through any ICO you see, making sure that every thing about it is good before you sign up for it.

There are a lot of scam ICOs or initial coin offerings/ that is why it is really hard to find a legit one. Before I invest in ico I will search about the team behind it and I think it is less risk if the team behind that ICO has a history of handling a successful ICO or project before, it is also good if there are a working products, or great use case because if there is already a working products that ICO has a small percentage to become scam.
We are still seeing few successful ICOs but the rest are definitely scams. And if you're looking for good and legit ICOs these days, well its really hard to find those as most of the new projects in the market end up scams. So don't expect that they could still be the source of high potential profits when most of them are not even profitable. Instead, get a real investment by investing in bitcoin as it will always be a good source of profits if you happen to sell it at its peak price.

I think ICOs are very dangerous. IEOs are more advantageous. Try joining IEOs of sites like Binance and Coinlist. Kucoin and Gate IEOs also earn very well. You can see how well they earn here: https://cryptorank.io/ieo-platforms-roi Additionally, Tokens you buy with IEOs reach your wallet. But the tokens you buy from ICOs may not reach your wallet. Exchanges provide a quality brokerage service in this regard. I wish you good luck.

ICO's reputations seem badly ended a few years ago when the majority of them are worthless and scamming. I have that experience and it was really my regrets of buying them. That is why for now, I certainly ignore these projects, I'd rather take my time and risk in new projects. I wish not good luck but I wish that people will do the research first before investing as maybe there is something left that is worth investing in.

Yes I agree with you. ICOs are over. But IEOs (or IDOs) continue. They have very good ROIs.

https://cryptorank.io/ieo-platforms-roi

As long as centralized exchanges continue to exist, IEOs will continue to bring profits to investors. Centralized exchange tokens purchased at the right prices are a very good investment tool. I wish you the best of luck in purchasing at the right prices. I guess we need some luck for that (unless we use special technical analysis methods). I wish you a good day.

I haven't invested in an ICO in a long time, and the last time I invested, it ended up being a scam. anyway, i've done some research on it, however it also ended up being a scam. Currently, I rarely participate in ICOs, but maybe there are some ICOs out there that are legit enough to support.
however, the only way to find out if it can make us profitable or not is by doing some research. but, as we know, even doing research does not guarantee that what we invest will be very profitable for us. however, I suggest that when you invest in an ICO, you need to follow all developments of the project. That's so you know when the project is listed, new partnerships, and so on. You can also know the potential of a project by continuing to follow their development.

Weren't they more like "obsolete" after that year? Most of it don't even reach the softcap at all due to how investor already perceived these types of projects.
I even recall a lot of users checking out in here through threads if they're still worth investing. I was like, "this wouldn't last a year or so" then it indeed happened.

The era of investing in ICO is long gone. Investors are more concerned about NFTs and Defi tokens. Its best to understand the trends in the market and align your investments strengths to that which is obtainable. The objective of investing is to earn more from your capital and ICO's don't seem to be a good option to me.

NFT is the new ICO today. It's still almost the same and there's not that much change except they're NFT! IDO and IEO, they're also the same as the ICO.
Still, all of them are all about crowdfunding and there's still a lot of interest from various investors because most of them are still optimistic about the possible outcome of a project. Yet, the scammers are also going with the newest trend for them to fool people, especially the newbies.

This is definitely not an easy task op. Euther you put in the effort or spend for spoonfed information. First option includes going through lots and lots of startup projects and checking every developing team, every community, road maps, marketing strategies, usecases and tokenomics which is quite a hassle for some while for others not so. It depends on what type of person you are. For the second option however, you just have to pay for some good signals about gems that are about to shoot up(start up projects that have great potential or low cap coins) and do nothing but buy what you're being told to. Here, all the hassle from the first option is done by the one beung paid by you so you don't have to move your lazy ass and just expect money to rain on you. Of course, you still have to beware of scams so be sure to find a credible source before payung and using their services. Hope this helps ;)

Now there are no investors who want to put their money in the ICO, even now there is an ICO offer that promises to give a 1000% reward or get 10x coins after investing, too many scams so investors prefer to invest in IDO which is more secure and can be sold without have to wait like in ICO.
Scam projects can't just be found in ICO alone as it was spread across the market. I know investing in ICO projects isn't worth it but never put everything turn to zero coz there are some to be found great but the chances are close to zero and that was a big problem and really challenging to find them. And instead of spending our precious time digging them, better to invest known coins and to increase our chances to gain a profit.

Here's how to identify an ICO worth investing in.
1. studying the project’s whitepaper is essential as it is a document that tells potential investors about the project’s architecture, the market, and the risks.
2. The developers are not anonymous and the background of each project team member.
3. You should avoid uncapped ICO as you won’t know how much tokens will be created during the presale and crowd-sale.
4. Check how active this token’s community is on different forums such as Bitcointalk or their Slack.
5. You should be completely aware of what happens after the ICO is over and how the generated funds will be used.
6. It’s always a good idea to check out how equity and ownership are distributed among the founding members.
7. Do not invest unless there is a product or you can see clear signs of the product being built.
8. Having a roadmap is also crucial for the success of the ICO.

Now is not the time to invest in ICOs from last year ICOs are no longer the choice of investors because ICOs are dead, to invest in the future we can see current trends such as in NFT or the metaverse, but we must look in more detail at the projects we will invest in, especially in the destination and developers and has a team that is experienced in crypto.
I would guess that pre-sale is still considered ICO in some sort of way. Doesn't mean that it would be considered ICO just because it is named that way is a very old school approach and we should be approaching every pre-sale type of situation like ICO, and there are tons of them out there.

I believe that we are getting a lot, we have 17k+ projects just on CMC and I have seen plenty of projects that have been out of CMC and not get listed, which means there must be something like 30k+ at the very least projects. That must be like at least 5k+ projects every year, and that means we are talking about 10+ project every single day, and most of them have pre-sale.

Assuming at least 10 per day, that is seriously insanely good and I would be very proud to say that I do not lose money on most of them because I avoid investing into rug pulls but it shows you how much we need to be careful.

It is a thing of the past and not worth our time and money to study. Currently, there are many new and profitable ways to approach projects, such as IEO, IDO, Parachain, lockdrop, stake, etc., but in my opinion, new projects also have many risks if the criteria are met. Personally, I prefer projects that already have products and stable performance in the market rather than starting new projects from the beginning.

Unfortunately, 99.99% of all of those projects do not really have anything positive for the market and they just take money without getting anything back. I do not know what could be a method where we could stop people to just start a project whenever they want. I keep saying that a project would take maximum of 1 or 2 hours to build, and then a bit of money to do marketing and it shouldn't be this easy.

We should be focusing on something that would be a lot better in the sense how we could end up stop it, if we could stop it then we could be doing better because there will be only just good and decent projects unfortunately that is not the case right now and all these shitcoins are hurting the market.

ICO used to be very lucative during 2017 bull market, things have changed from that time. We have seen decentralized financ replace ICO as you can do a lot to earn with defi! There are still different project out there raising fund to develop their idea in cryptocurrency and most of them already have a working product.

There are no stopping from the rampant case of scam projects. Almost all of the new projects coming in the market are not that reliable and have turn to scam projects before we knew it. So if you aim of looking to invest for some worthy ICOs, that will be very hard these days. I suggest to never take risk investing in them, just go with bitcoin and reliable altcoins that have been profitable in the market. There are also some valuable projects that have became profitable in short term, but always take caution before investing in them.

There are still many ICO projects that are very good and that it is worth the effort to do them, only now I limit myself to seeing first in the forum and see which campaign manager carries it out, it depends on that I decide whether to enter or not, namely the The best projects are those that have a pre-sale and public sale stage, when they are reliable projects given by excellent campaign managers, the trick is to buy in the pre-sale, because the public sale is a total success, and according to the market in the stage that is done is a guarantee that a great bullish style movement can take place, that is the strategy that I have applied for the ICOs.

We've better not or else, we just lose our money and time with these ICOs. In fact, their time has been done already, we have to face the fact that ICO has no value in the market now. There are good and reliable projects in the market(not ICO) which I think was the best option. I think we have to move on and encourage people to forget about ICO because the truth is that they are already passing by, there are new projects creations that are worth enough compared to them.

We can divert our mindset into investing old projects that have been still profitable until now. Unlike ICOs that have been very frustrating these days as we cannot rely from them anymore for a decent amount of income. Although there are some have remained to be profitable, but their value is not that really high compared before. So lets move on and focus on other projects that will make us profitable instead, but definitely stay away from memes and shit coins as they are never good for investments.

Hello! Is it still worth to invest into ICOs? If so, how do I find the good ones? Any recommendations here ?:)
https://coinmarketcap.com/ico-calendar/upcoming/
I have seen many ICOs in 2017, but for now ICOs seem to have been abandoned, because they were replaced with IDOs and IEOs, you can see the list in the link above, but keep doing research because not all ICOs are profitable, some project developers are also doing vesting to avoid a drop in the price of the coin, but if the project is good, then the price can rise quickly. like the ASIX token which is currently being hyped

Currently it is very difficult to find a good ICO project and worthy of our investment, and this project seems dead because it can not compete with new projects such as deFi, NFT and metaverse that increasingly dominate the crypto world and the development of the project is very fast and many investors are interested in following it, then now is no longer the time to follow the ICO project and can already use new projects that are more profitable for us in investing.

If you don't have the ability to look for new projects then you don't need to invest because this is a big risk and I see now that other IDO sales have started to decline it seems the hype will soon fade and new trends will come again, we must be ready if you want to invest in new projects that on the run.

The ASIX token has decreased, the hype is gone, the project concept is not very clear, it only explains the family tree, not about the product that is prioritized.

2017 investing in ICOs is quite easy and the profits are also big, that's because there are not many ICOs like today and honest and responsible developers are included.

Now, I think you just stop investing in ICOs the greater risk and loss you accept.

I haven't participated in ico in a very long time because most of the ico's are just filled with unclear and scam projects. many of the new coins produced from ico have very low prices and eventually become dead coins. it is better to participate in IDO because most IDO projects are able to generate profits quickly. although sometimes the investment funds are limited to very small but IDO is much more promising than ICO.

You're are wrong as ICOs are profitable last 2016-2017. The major scam happens to them by 2018 when the market is in the bearish season and until today. I can't blame people will think it was worthless and nonsense projects as that is the reality and investing in them will never guarantee returns instead of losses.

ICO, IEO, IDO, and even NFTs, scam projects exist. We can't hide this sad reality as many scammers have been around looking for their prey. So finding ICO that is worth investing in is a failure.

Since 2017 most ICOs did not deliver what they promised and the unrest that this creates among investors forced them gradually shuru down the project. There is lack of regulation here in the altcoins sector and you will be wasting time searching because the number of legit projects are way less than the number of scam projects and failed projects combined.

The better and more logical process is to observe charts and buy Bitcoin. Because bitcoin will be big in future any day and you will never face such bankruptcy problems or so with bitcoin.

Even the newly started DeFi and NFT are working simialoand they will end similarly too.
