It seems that this is the way for all the old members who registered before.
It's a good idea and it earns them free advertising, as it seems that they have very few Ukrainian users, so they may not pay much for that channel.
exchanges are trying to be neutral so as not to be affected by any political decisions in the future.

So kind of FTX and Sam. Well, a good initiative from him and his team and let's see what's the top exchanges got to offer for the Ukraine citizens that are struggling right now.

Exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, Bittrex, of course, will not participate in this, they can only impose sanctions against Russian clients.
Yeah, that's likely and they'll have to be neutral as much as they can or else their business will have to face a huge consequence with their action that go against the USA. They have to be careful on this.

I think that so far all the restrictions relate mainly to new users and operations with the ruble, for example, how they did Kuna, WhiteBit and exchanges CEX.io restrictions have already been announced for users from Russia and Belarus, and on Cex.io and for citizens of Ukraine, but these restrictions relate to the prohibition of registration of new users from Russia, as well as the possibility of input and output and trading for rubles, the restrictions will not affect users who have passed KYC and are not on the sanctions lists (at least for WhiteBit)

In CEX.io they stated that the restrictions apply exclusively to new users (registration, deposit creation and trading are closed). For customers from Ukraine with accounts older than two months, as well as for customers from Russia and Belarus with accounts older than four months, the service is available in full.

By the way, about fundraising, yesterday we created UkraineDAO where everyone can share their eth, at the moment has been collected 454.39145457 ETH ($1 246 750,19)

Moreover, KYC is not required. It was enough to register with a Ukrainian IP.

Are you implying this also applies to newly registered users?
- I hope this isn't the case or else a lot of non-Ukrainian users will take advantage of the situation.

It would be nice if a similar action was supported by other major crypto exchanges.
- Binance donates $10 million to support Ukraine (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5387555.0)

as it seems that they have very few Ukrainian users,
Based on "this tweet (https://twitter.com/InfoMfrt/status/1497003680347869186)", they probably have a significant number of users in Ukraine.

Many companies create funds such as Binance Charity, which continues to raise funds in support of Ukraine suffering from aggression from Russia, they have already raised $6,435 million out of the planned $20 million https://www.binance.charity/Ukraine-Emergency-Relief-Fund , as well as Uniswap created an interface for donating funds https://donate.uniswap.org/#/swap also, the WhiteBit exchange did not stay aside and there you can make a donation https://zsu.pay.whitepay.com / if you notice when using Stex exchange, you will receive a reminder about the opportunity to help Ukraine STOP RUSSIAN INVASION OF UKRAINE – SUPPORT UKRAINIAN MILITARY (wallet BTC - bc1qkd5az2ml7dk5j5h672yhxmhmxe9tuf97j39fm6)

Daltonik, you mixed up the topic. The topic with exchanges that support Ukraine already has information about Binance here and there:
Exchanges supporting Ukraine (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5387875.0)

There is no need to post it a thousand times. Learn to use the forum search.

Well, thank you, I wasn't going to list all the exchanges and platforms here, and here's another thing that Ukraine announced about airdrop for everyone who made a donation, a network snapshot will be made on March 3 at 18 o'clock Kiev time.

Upd: Airdrop for donations to help Ukraine has been canceled, instead of it, NFTs will be created to support the armed forces of Ukraine.

I reckon they quickly saw that a verification with a Ukrainian IP is not the best way to go about it. Some Russian hackers and even scammers can quickly exploit that. I saw a lot of "looped" streams on TikTok claiming that it was "Live" footage that were coming directly from the Ukraine ...with Sirens and all.... but it turned out that it was scammers cashing in on this tragedy.  >:(

So giving $25 worth of Crypto to people with a Ukrainian IP will draw scammers like crazy. I say .... put someone on the border where they are crossing and give them Paper wallets with $25 worth of Crypto to help them settle in. (Put a link on the Paper wallet to a video to explain how it works)  ;)   If they do not move it within a couple of months... just take it back.  ;)

Although I'm not a great fan of KYC, I think that in this case that may be the solution.
Since most established exchanges do require KYC, I think that it would be more feasible to airdrop money based on the KYC info than IP, since IP can be faked with a working proxy.

However, no matter how imperfect it is, it's still a great initiative.

it earns them free advertising,
I think this is mostly a marketing ploy on the part of FTX. It is a nice gesture, but I am not sure how much of a difference this is going to make.

It is clear that Russia is in the wrong. Most corporations are taking the side of the West. Those that are even hesitant are facing strong backlash.
