Title: SelfEscrow - Escrow using smart contract
Post by: kaos1478 on March 01, 2022, 05:24:56 PM
"Who would give the first vote of confidence?" Have you ever been through the dilemma in a purchase? Would the person who was going to buy deposit the money first, or would the person who would sell ship the product first? In the crypto area, this insecurity is even more remarkable when considering the level of anonymity that coins provide.

In an ESCROW system, an intermediary receives and secures the value until both parties reach an agreement. In case of disagreements, the intermediary mediates. However, in some cases, the intermediary carries out the theft.

Considering this scenario, I created SelfEscrow, a 100% automated Escrow smart contract where not even the intermediary can steal the escrow amount.

Using some of the leading cryptocurrencies on the market, In its Alpha version, SelfEscrow serves the currencies (ETH, MATIC, BNB) on its networks, with a view to the subsequent versions (USDC, USDT, BTC, among others).

It is worth mentioning that SelfEscrow is not a Market Place; there is no product listing. It is not necessary to identify yourself or the product you are selling. All transactions are carried out in a hidden way, valuing the anonymity of the people who use them.

Pre-Alpha now available, 0% tax, escrow process 100% automated!

SelfEscrow Token ERC20 will be release soon.

This is a laudable concept and I must confess it's commendable. It would be instrumental to the reduction of issues of scam in the cryptocurrency market. I really do hope that it would get to mainstream early, to reduce the cost of having a third party carrying out escrow services. I do hope that the project would fly.

I just checked the website and it looks minimalistic which is nice. Less clutter, better looking UI.
Although, the platform itself need more documentation and tutorials on how to use it. Also, since this deals with financial stuff, it would be best that the code would be audited by a 3rd party auditing service/company as well. Techrate, Hacken, Certik, anything that would prove that the code is safe to use.

Tks for your feedback.

Nice that you mentioned the audit, I already made the request in Certik, I'm waiting.
About the documentation, I still creating the help page... the main idea is post everything there: video tutorials, how to create a escrow, how to pay a escrow and how the dispute step works.

I decided to create this project because I was one of the victims of this kind of scam.
The main idea of this project is security and anonymity. even if it doesn't become a popular project (not being my main objective) at least there will be a project that people can feel safe in carrying out this type of process.

Even if the service works fine you still need a decent marketing campaign. Escrow service should have a reputation and proven work history. Even if you get all possible features and audits It might be still hard to attract people.
Do you have any insurance fund for repayment in case of hacks?

About

Marketing campaign: let's start when alpha ends.

Reputation: Although I've worked on a few projects that have actually proven themselves to be solid, it's the kind of thing that only time and hard work will provide.

Fund: In the beginning we have a low amount, the main collection will occur when the token is launched through campaigns with bonuses and the values of fees, the long-term goal is 500k USDC.

Note

All technical content on how the economy will work will be provided in the whitepaper (still under construction)

I do know that you wanna make an online fully automated escrow using the smartcontract but keep in your mind that if the code must be audited as well or at least you will be auditing your platform to the trusted auditors to acquire  a uselful certification for your platform. This will ensure people to fell safe by using your platform. The site looks nice but it needs some improvemets.
You must also create a documentation about how it works and how can you call it safe? The main concern even if it being automated but the control owned by the contract creator, right?
So what's about that? I suggest you to create your announcement thread as well to give more update about your platform.
